The trio entered Vermillion City after the stop over at Hunter Town. Vermillion City was a fairly large town, although many of the buildings looked like a downtown commercial zone with high rise skyscrapers made of glass and steel. Despite the commercial zone, there was the smell of sea water in the air and the trio noticed the port.

"Vermillion is a port town," said Kelly.

Naryawen said, "Yes, I noticed."

Mike said, "lets head to the pokémon center. By the way, isn't the place a military base?"

"Yes, there is a Pokeland Marine Base here," said Kelly.

"eee-eee" came a sound.

"Hey guys, did you hear that?" said Kelly, trying to pinpoint the sound. He looked around and saw an eevee. "Hey, an eevee! Look, it must be very hungry!"

"What, an eevee?" asked Mike.

"Oh, how a adorable!" said Naryawen as she turned her attention and saw the eevee. The eevee looked like a fennic fox with brown hair and the tuft of brown hair around it, but it was a little larger -- about the size of a poodle or a large chihuahua. And it looked thin compared to other eevees. "eee," it said miserably.

"It looks lost," said Naryawen. She held out her hand, and the eevee avoided her, shying away from her hand. "ee-ee," it said.

"Why won't it come to me?" asked Naryawen.

"Maybe it's afraid of you," said Mike. He held out his hands and crouched. "Come to me, Eevee."

"eee," it said, and bounded up into Mike's arms. The eevee snuggled into Mike's chest. Mike led the other two to the pokemon center. "The poor little guy is probably reminded by it's trainer through me," he said.

"It's so cute that it really likes you," said Kelly.

"Yeah, Master, that eevee has taken to you," said Naryawen. "Right cutie?" She puts her arm around Kelly's, who began to sweat a little as he tried to avoid eye contact with her.

It was a bright day when the trio approached the Pokemon Center, a partly cloudy day. Mike cradled the eevee until they reached the Pokémon Center and entered it. A blonde nurse was at the desk, checking up on some work.

"Nurse, we found this eevee, can you identify who's its trainer is?" asked Mike, approaching the nurse.

The nurse turned around and saw the eevee and said, "Oh, poor thing! Give it to me and I'll find out what I can." Mike turned over Eevee, who cried, but was still happy to see Mike as the Nurse took it. The nurse gave it a full diagnostic, checking out every part of the eevee. "It's suffering from malnutrition."

Everyone gasped. "Can you help the cute little thing," Kelly asked, his eyes blazing with concern. The nurse looked at the pokémorph and said, "I'll do what I can."

"Nurse, while you work on eevee, is it okay if I find the Vermillion Gym?" asked Mike.

The nurse said, "It's alright. It's right here. The Unova Marine Corps have a base here, and the gym is just outside the base grounds."

"Then we better go," said Mike. Eevee then said, "Eevee!"

"I don't think Eevee wants you to go," said the Nurse. "It probably wants one of you to stay."

"I have to fight at the gym," said Mike. He knew that the eevee had the greatest attachment to him. But then, a gym battle can wait until morning. He didn't have to go yet. He plunged his fist into his palm. "We wait until the eevee is better."

Eevee happily said, "Evai!" The eevee relaxes as the nurse starts feeding it. "All it needed is some good food and a good rest."

'I guess we can stay here through the night," said Mike. He paid for their room and suddenly, "I get dibs sleeping with the Master!"

"What?" said Naryawen.

"Here we go again . . ." as Mike entered their room. The room was perfect. It had a few beds, like about three. Two bunk beds and a separate master bed. The room also had a desk and a lamp. The walls were white, and their was a closet to store clothes. Mike then said, "Since you too are going to fight, you will take the bunk beds."

"Yes, master," they both said unhappily. Mike stripped down to his tighty-whites and jumped into the master bed, while his pets took the bunk beds. They were both sound asleep, although Mike thanked Someone that eevee would be alright.

The next morning, they saw a bright and happy Eevee at the desk. "Hello, you three, I wanted you to know that the eevee is doing okay and will be ready to go after I keep it for observation."

"That's great news," said Kelly.

The eevee said, "Eevai!"

Mike said, "Its time to go see the Vermillion gym. Come on guys, eevee will be safe with the nurse."

Naryawen said, "Yeah, it would be great to do battle against an electric gym."

"You think we have a chance of defeating Lt. Bolt?" laughed Kelly.

Mike also laughed, "We won't know until we try!"

The trio walked through the sliding doors as the eevee looked on with some longing and sadness that it was going to be left alone at the Pokemon center. The nurse then said, "Lets try to match you with your trainer, shall we?"

She looked through the center's records to see who had this particular eevee. While she browsed through record data, the eevee jumped off the table and ran through the doors. The nurse said, "Hey, wait, eevee!"

The group walked down to the Vermillion Gym, which was built near the military base. The place seemed like a normal gym, except for the lightning bolts on either side of the logo stating that it's the Vermillion Gym. "Well, here it is," said Mike. A dark cloud was seen on the western horizon, and Kelly secretly hoped it wouldn't be a bad omen.

"Evai, eevee!" said something behind them. Naryawen turned around to see the eevee, who was following them close behind. She looked so happy to be with them. Mike turned around and so did Kelly.

"You followed us all the way here?" asked Naryawen.

"Eevai!" the little eevee said affirmatively.

"Awwwe," she said. "The eevee didn't want to be alone."

Mike said, "hmm, we might be using all of you in the coming battle. But Kelly, watch over the eevee." With that he turned to the doors and opened them and stepped into a dark room. The room was mostly dark except for minimal lighting.

A man, with the rank of sergeant said, "Who comes to the Vermillion City Gym?"

"I do," said Mike, yelling. "I challenge the gym trainer of the Vermillion City Gym!"

The sergeant only chucked and said, "Hey, Lieutenant Bolt, another one came in today."

The figure on the couch stood up and came into the light. There, wearing battle fatigues, but had her shirt open with only a brassiere to hide her modesty was a Raichu morph. Her body was nicely curvacious, that's for sure, thanks to the human and rat physiological similarities. She had orange fur, but curiously lacked the cheek "plates" on her cheeks. But she didn't need them to call forth that she was a raichu. Her lightening shaped tail was enough. Small sparks of static electricity was on her body. Most of it hidden by her clothes.

"What happened to Lieutenant Surge?" asked Mike.

Lieutenant Bolt said in a sultry voice, "He got a promotion."

"What happened to all your other challengers?" asked Mike.

Lieutenant bolt explained, "Well, how should I say this? All of their pokemon were electrocuted. This is an electrical gymnasium, and we specialize in electrical attacks. Without a ground pokemon or pokemorph, you simply have no hope. Not a prayer."

"Every pokemon or pokemorph has a weak point," said Mike.

"All I see is two pokemorphs, a ninetales and a charmeleon. And your ninetales is holding an eevee," said Lieutenant Bolt, filing her nails. "An interesting animal, eevee. However, tell you what. If you beat my pokemon, I'll give you a thunderstone to turn eevee into a Jolteon as well as a Thunder Badge. Sounds fair? Don't take too long kid to decide."

She threw out a Pokeball, and it opened, releasing a mighty Electabuzz. It looked like a cat, or a leopard, almost standing on it's hind legs. Almost like a cross between an ape and a leopard. On either side of it's mouth were two long fangs, and it had a stripped pattern on it's fur. Static electricity arched between it's ears. "Electabuzz," it said.

"Well, are you going to challenge me?" said Lieutenant Bolt.

At that point, the glass on the ceiling broke and several Team Xaos grunts poured through. The leaders said, "Our boss doesn't like us striking a military target, but your gym isn't on the military grounds is it?"

"What is the meaning of this intrusion!" said Lieutenant Bolt. "I was about to have a gym battle!"

"Sorry to interrupt," said the female Xaos grunt. "But I am Carrie and this is Wyatt. And we are here for your Pokemorphs."

"On what grounds?" Lieutenant Bolt said.

"All Pokémorphs were designed to serve humans as slaves," Carrie said. She released a pokeball, revealing a Zigzagoon morph. He was dressed in Team Xaos fatigues except that from his cut out crotch hanged two large testicles. "Mr. Honda, tackle attack!"

"Yes, mistress," said the Zigzagoon morph. The Morph leapt into the air and came down on Lieutenant Bolt so fast and in such a way she was tackled by his testicles.

"Ahhhh!" she said. "How, pornographic!"

Five of the Xaos grunts released their pokeballs, releasing five pokemon -- a Spearow, a growlith, a bulbasaur, a jolteon, and a grimer. They were all ready to herd the three pokemorphs that were free in the gym, all of them wearing military fatigues -- a houndour, a jolteon, and an arcanine.

"Give up, free pokemorphs!" said Carrie. "You are all ours!"

Mike released his pokemon. "Ace, Felix, it's time to fight! Team Xaos is back!"

Kelly set down the eevee, who was wondering why it had to be set down. And he took the field, and so did Naryawen. Their eyes blazed with anger. "You took my father and little brother," said Naryawen. "I will never forgive you until I can hold them in my arms!"

"You have a lot to answer for, Team Xaos!" said Kelly.

Carrie and Wyatt smiled. With the roof of the gym shattered and the Team Xaos copter in the air, and seven against one with two pokemorph pets and two pokemon, it seemed that they were outgunned. Mike gritted his teeth, thought hard about the battle to come, and readied his mind for battle.
