Serena didn't take too long, she rounded up, quite literally, some mid sized Pokémon, Mareep and Spoink had littered this land, and while she made note of them, she took only as much as she thought they would need. She showed signs of shocking, but otherwise was unharmed, the Spoink had been knocked unconscious to prevent it from using psychic abilities, and as she pushed her way back through the willow branches one of the Mareep resisted. "Dinner's served...so to speak anyway."

"Serena, I found out that I'm still on Earth, just like you said. Though, there are Pokémon that come from space, but we don't know where exactly from." He took note of her obvious signs that she had been hunting, but said nothing of it.

"Of course there are some Pokémon that come from space, there are the Elgyem which are aliens." She looked at him incredulously. "You can TALK to us Kyn, you don't know where all of us come from yet?" She had settled down with a Mareep in the corner and was shaving off it's electric hair with a claw. She could focus on buffing out the scorch marks on her scales later, that's all they seemed to be, if that, and when she was done she broke it's neck and waited for its legs to stop moving before eating it. Marlow of course could absorb life energy from where he was, so she didn't think anything of it, but she carefully kept herself out of her eating trance this time, not wanting her jaw muscles sore again.

"Serena... my ability to understand you all is both natural and supernatural. Your ability to understand ME however, is not shared by all of you. Even amongst the intelligent sentient 'mon, I mean. As for all of your origin... with the exception of Arceus, I'd say, that you all came from a single Pokémon that somehow spread it's DNA across 'regular' animals, and created the Pokémon. We believe it's name was Mew. In my mind, it does sound the most plausible. Though how that Mew got here is the other mystery."

Marlow decided to form his energy cloak now, and then he phased through Serena, before floating back in front of her.

"Hm, Serena, could we borrow that fur for a bit? Actually, more like have it forever?" Tensa asked.

She shivered as Marlow passed through her, swatting at him with her free claw as he passed, then blinked at Tensa's request. Her claws were already bloody, and her mouth was soon to follow, she dragged the one Mareep of the many backwards into the roots of the trees as an answer, leaving the wool exposed. "If you want it I suppose. There's always more where that comes from too...just be glad you caught me when I DIDN'T just eat it outright...you'll have to fetch it though."

"Mareep fur can come in handy during winter for humans, Serena. Our weak, furless bodies get so cold, so easily." Kyn said, half sarcastically, half truthfully.

Tensa went over to fetch the fur, and then together they managed to secure it into a Poké Ball.

"I'm still not hungry yet," Heji admitted.

"You will be soon enough, Heji." Striker commented.

"There is not much I prefer to eat," Lacu said, before resuming floating and meditating.

Serena really didn't want to compare Kyn's furless body to the Mareep in front of her, especially when she was eating. Still she focused on her meal and ignored most else around her, at least until she licked her lips. "Well, they're not dead yet, so they can wait on the hoof until you are hungry...and if you are to be so picky about what you eat, perhaps next time you should go hunting and catch something yourself." She hadn't intended to snap, but she HAD warned them that she was not good company while she ate, but she was trying at least.

Lacu simply said, "I suppose. Hunting via Psychic attacks is very unnerving to some."

"Serena, I cannot tell you enough how much I am looking forward to Gambitville. Oh, I should probably just work off some energy by running around and tree hopping." Kyn said.

"Don't stay up too late." Tensa said with a wave.

Serena took her time cleaning after her meal, looking up at Marlow as Kyn walked out. "Go on, go with him, telepathic message is faster than a yell of help." She wrinkled her nose, licking her lips slightly as she sat up off her belly, and pulled the Rawst salve from her bag. She hadn't reapplied it after the bath, and was now starting to feel the repercussions, she would be glad when they were healed tomorrow evening.

"Fine fine. I shall go with him. But you know he won't call for help right?" Marlow had done a little listening in on various conversations to deduce some small bits of Kyn's personality.

"I'm not counting on him calling for help, I'm counting on you ratting him out." she said over her shoulder to him, then looked back at those who were left as if she had not said something that would mess with how much Kyn trusted her. When she was sure that her mouth and claws were clear she found a rather cushiony spot in the grass and laid down in a ball, much like a lizard who was trying to stay warm would, she wasn't tired, but she figured it was as good of a way to relax and apply the salve down her back with the blunt side of one clawtip. Why was she looking out for Kyn? Well, there was this matter of a promise at the village, that he wouldn't do anything that would put himself in danger. "For the record, Lacu." She broke the silence for a moment. "So long as you're not trying to control what's in MY head, I don't care how you hunt."

"~Swords swords, I love my swords!~" Kyn sang to himself. He didn't go too far from the group, but at the same time managed to distance himself from them. It wasn't like singing would attract wild Pokémon here. Not like Sweet Scent, he'd hoped.

Serena shifted a bit, capping the jar and putting it back in its netting, then sliding that back inside the bag itself before she dared venture from her cozy little spot, rather directing her attention at Tensa than Heji, at least for the time being, though she wondered how long the cat would be up, but she didn't exactly...say anything. There had been quite a few Treecko in the village, but she'd never really...gotten close enough to -look- at them. Once again, her mind shifted back to the curious question that had come earlier. "Hey...erm, Tensa...have you...ever wondered what your tail leaves taste like?" it was the oddest conversation opener ever, and she knew it.

"I have not. I've just always assumed that... they would taste like regular leaves off a certain type of tree." He turned around and looked at his own tail in response. What Serena had said was a very strange thing to say, considering that he knew her to be a carnivore, he wouldn't have expected her to be interested in leaves at all.

Suddenly, Kyn saw something shifting in the trees nearby, and he instantly stopped his singing. His body froze, and he continue to scan the area for any signs of movement again. If he was right, the cause of the motion would do the exact same, causing it to mostly be a standoff unless someone or something was used as a diversion.

She knew it was a strange thing, and in fact might have said so, if it were not in this position. "Well I...kinda figured that since they would feed off of your blood that it would taste a bit different...Sort of like a Carnivine maybe?" She shrugged again, and hoped that having her back to Heji was taken as a sign of trust instead of indifference. Catching Tensa off guard, she thought perhaps that that would be something to note later on.

"It also probably has to do with my diet. The more meat I eat... the less it'll taste like an herbivore." Tensa still felt a little strange discussing the subject. "Serena, have you eaten Carnivine before?" There was no comparison after all since he had not eaten anything remotely similar to another Grass-type.

A Patrat clung to the branch of the tree, perhaps it hadn't been noticed, but so long as the strange thing, for Kyn was a strange thing, didn't move toward it's home anymore, it wouldn't move either, but stared at him through the branches. The red and yellow eyes would attract attention, it knew from experience, amidst all the dark green.

Serena paused at the idea, thinking back through her short time in life. "...Once." she said slowly. "When I was just learning to trap, and I'd gone looking for vines at night. It had been relaxing in a tree before I disturbed it."

Kyn continued to wait to see if there would be movement, again, and when he didn't see anything on the ground, he looked up to the trees around him. He did relocate to another branch, and then froze again.

"There was a discovery I've made. It seems that most humans believe that if I were to eat a Carnivine, that it would be cannibalism. Except Kyn. I suppose it's because they just don't expect most Pokémon to eat other Pokémon, and only expect the obvious ones, like Pidgey and Caterpie type pairings are accepted."

The Patrat, seeing the human catch yet another branch in his direction, chittered it's buck teeth, and threw the most available thing at the intruder, a green Apricorn.

"It seems to me as if most humans do not have brains, or else refuse to use them, It would be like me not eating another Dragon. It's meat, and well, population control too, if we just ate other creatures all of our lives, then dragons would be the most populous thing around...and while I guess we could do that there would still be many casualties as we ran out of places to nest, and breeding grounds would be...well, a blood bath."

No sign of movement... yet... until he saw an Apricot whiz past him at a decent speed. 'That wouldn't exactly have been painful, but it wouldn't have been pleasant,' he thought to himself, not wanting to speak the words out loud due to the nature of what he was doing. By quickly triangulating the source of the Apricorns trajectory, he was able to deduce where it had come from, and so he launched himself from one of the other branches towards the source, this time not caring if he made any noise. He was definitely going to confront whatever it was.

"Well heh... it doesn't exactly take much to become a Pokémon Trainer. If you were running things, you'd probably demand that they have more qualifications than, one, Age 10, two, go to orientation, and three, pass a simple exam. Those are the types of people that won't really be able to understand Pokémon much if they just stay at that level." Tensa remembered the first time he met Kyn, and how his usual behavior towards him interested him.

Squuuueeeeak! the noise came with the tree branches, but stayed still, biding it's time. It was small, could be squished, but that also meant that it was more agile than what was coming at it, and of course, the advantage that the limb it was on wouldn't likely HOLD the other creature's weight as well as it's own.

Serena was appalled at the idea of how easy it was to become a trainer. "You're right, they'd at least need to learn body language or something so that they don't get killed when dealing with us."

"Alright, there was absolutely no way that I imagined THAT," he said it out loud this time. He didn't know very many Pokémon that squeaked, and thus he of course, wanted to find out what it was, and secondly, if it was large, and thirdly if it was edible. He dropped down below, and looked to see if he could make his way back up another way.

"It's kinda annoying. Though I was glad by the way Kyn reacted when he met me."

The white tailtip, was probably all he would see as it darted downwards, hopping from limb to limb, starting in pursuit of Kyn, since he wasn't leaving, and he was starting to get close to it's home; but of course, as it ran along a branch sparse of leaves, it's eyes locked on him, he would have had to have been a fool not to notice the signs of something moving, and by the light of the moon could even make out it's shape.

"Mmmph." was all Serena said, she had dropped to all fours and was curled up for the story that was sure to come, missing her fire at her cave already. Why did they have to pass so close to the lake? The air was enough to make her hide quiver down her back. "He didn't behave like an idiot then? When did that change occur?" She was smiling, so hopefully he would take it as a joke. definitely more comfortable around Pokémon in SMALL groups, rather than the huge ones that would be waiting for them...when-- about half a day later?--when they got back from their little adventure with her. At the moment it didn't matter that Tensa was Kyn's mate, she was just 'one of the boys.'

Now that he had been reminded by Serena, he began to use one of his older tactics. Get their attention, run away, have them give chase, then surprise them by reversing direction, if they hadn't already anticipated it. Now it was time for him to keep quiet again. Even on top of his own movements, he was able to recognize and pay attention to the signs of another. Especially since he was seemingly alone with exception of the other two and the current pursuer. A clear, moon filled night, with no wind, meant that any disturbances were artificially made.

"That's right... keep following me..." he whispered quietly at it. Every so often, he would glance quickly behind him, looking for a good chance to stop and surprise it. He managed to get glances of a dark blurb with eyes that stood out in the night, and some blur of a a light shade of white, but that wasn't much for him to go by either. After he saw an opening, he quickly stopped, then turned around. That was one thing about controlling a pursuit, if they are following you close enough, surprising them is easy if they aren't expecting you to reverse direction.

"Oh Serena... you could say it happened because of me. Well, us. Being together with us might have caused him to get a little clumsy but, being here will definitely cause him to act differently when he returns. Have you ever thought about what you're going to do when you're a Salamence?" Tensa didn't spend much time talking about his past, and now focused a bit on the future.

The Patrat had been watching him, chasing him, and waiting for the moment for him to STOP, figuring that he would either get too far from the tree for it to care, or it would stop and face off against it; and when he turned to face off, it kept running at the thing until it was in mid air, and then toppled as it's tail glowed and sharpened into the move Iron Tail, aimed at his chest to knock him to the ground.

"Not really. I suppose when that happens I'll retire from the Guilds and find a job like a normal 'mon, maybe fly around a bit and see what there is to see of this area...I can't go overseas of course, they wouldn't understand me there..." she grimaced a little. "I'll probably end up working for Merlot when I'm an adult, knowing the fact that she only hires Dragons...though I'll never wear one of those ridiculous maid outfits."

"Interesting," he said, drawing the hilt of his left sword's hilt. "Steel versus steel then eh? It seems that we both thought the exact same thing, and predicted each other. Now, what exactly are you I wonder?" with Striker's reflexes, and Tensa's speed, he was able to judge where the move would most likely be able to land and moved the hilt there. He didn't really need to unsheathe the blade for this, as long as he held on extremely tight. The added height from the jump would make the move that much more powerful. He predicted that even thought whatever it was was small, the force would still push him back.

"Merlot... that Lugia that some of the villagers talked about? She sounds.... ... interesting," Tensa said using a lighter word. "I'm thinking that our Lugia are a bit more like you Serena, the type that would be more than likely to sit down on the ground when not swimming in the ocean, as opposed to walking upright."

With the tail meeting the hilt of the sword, the Patrat used the momentum to bounce towards Kyn's face, it's jaws spread wide. It was easy to imagine that with how close it was to him now, the next part would be almost unavoidable, and even if he did manage to duck or something, his hair would be the next viable place for the rodent to latch onto.

"She is...interesting, yes...I made a deal with her a while ago to be allowed to...well, assist Marlow in finding about his new species...So I'm tied in with a 'job' there for the first few years of my Salamence shape, seems that she's getting suitors left and right that are bugging the heck out of her...She's still an adolescent, from what I can tell, of her species." She stole a glance at Heji, his fur looked warm and comfy right about now.

As the creature got incredibly close, he was able to recognize it. Obviously after having a Patrat of his own, and having seen him in the dark plenty of times, with the clues of the tail and eyes, he didn't need to see the rest anymore. "Oh, you're a Patrat." He said simply. He actually pictured a humorous situation in which after launching itself from where it landed, that he would out of nowhere be able to pull a frying pan that was about a foot, and it would land at that instead, but as it currently was, he wouldn't be able to do anything like that. His next option was to try and redirect it, which he attempted to do by putting his arm in the way of his face and leaning to the right.

"You and Marlow have been working together for how long now? " Tensa said, now remember that they seemed to be as inseparable as he and Kyn, but for different reasons.

With the head missed, but another target, his shoulder, in reach, it grabbed at it, and missed by mere inches. Had it been sentient it might have made a comment about not being an Emolga, but instead just grappled the branch behind where they were. it was flimsy, but--any port in a storm after all. The strange creature had something metal, and so it ran up the branch, out of arms reach, knowing that he couldn't directly follow.

"Working together? Less than a season, known each other for about three now." She shivered again, and curled a little tighter before figuring it wouldn't work, and slunk back beside Heji, not out of earshot, but definitely further back. "Don't mind me, just a little cold." It was directed at Heji, but it served as an statement to Tensa too.

"Oh. Well then..." Kyn pointed his sword at the Patrat and unsheathed the blade. He then quickly jumped up and cut the branch that it was residing on, as well as several of the other branches nearby. This wouldn't really prevent it from climbing up higher if it wanted to, but it would make it a bit more difficult to do so.

Heji decided to put his paw over Serena, holding her against him. "You are not minded, however you are noticed." He said.

"Have you gotten along with Marlow well? With the exception of times when he seems to be deliberately annoying..."

The Patrat froze, that metal thing had just cut-- but it's mind didn't take the time to think about what had just happened, its instincts screamed DANGER at the proximity of the sword, and the branch it was on fell. It was only when the other branch bumped one below it that that it even moved at all, quickly leaping off of the earthbound branches, only to have yet another one collide with it soon after and send the rat flying back into the air with a chitter of annoyance, and a squeak of fear.

Serena had, for the most part, shielded herself from Marlow for much of the conversation, and with Heji's paw over her it took her a moment to realize that Tensa had even asked something else. "Erm, sorry, zoned out there for a sec...Yeah, we get along pretty well I suppose? Usually he's the analytical one...I just let my instincts be my guide...actually it's him I have to thank to even be able to talk to you right now." She motioned with her claw, her tailtip twitching at her side.

Kyn waited to see what the Patrat would do while it while it was in transit. If it came back down on the ground, then he would go for its vital points, and or severely incapacitate it.

"Marlow seems like he would make a rather interesting human. Just throwing that thought out there. Though of course, having to get used to not being able to pass through things might get in the way a bit." Tensa chuckled.

The ground--it was the bad place to be, and yet, it seemed that that would be where the rat ended up, as it failed to catch the branch that it had previously been supported on. Instead it hit on it's back with a resounding CRACK, which then slipped down onto the next one, and the next, and the next, and then....Thud. It's body hit the ground, and it twitched, but didn't move.

Serena blinked at Tensa. "I think...that he doesn't even like being a ghost, he's so enthralled with his old life." she swallowed, her tail stopped flicking. "There's...acceptance I guess...but he's restricted to his skull during the day unless I can spare the energy...Should have seen us when we were first learning to control which thoughts the other received...had us at each other's throats nearly every day."

Kyn watched the Patrat fall. He didn't expect it to turn out exactly like that, but the fact that it wasn't able to move seemingly after hitting all those branches, was an added plus. Chances are that it was probably paralyzed, what with that sickening crack he heard. He walked slowly over to the Patrat, knowing that it would probably at this point be terrified of him or just it's instincts would still be telling it to flee.

"Sorry about this little guy. I don't have any context for why you what you were doing, but it seems now like I'm going to abide by the concept of 'putting you out of your misery'." That and or saving it from becoming easy prey for something that wouldn't show it the same type of emotion when it came to pain. Being eaten alive and such. He didn't even know if it would be able to understand even that, since it didn't reply to him in the first place, but it gave HIM a bit of closure. The next step was for him to quickly take the Patrat by the head and snapping it's neck.

"So, you're saying that Marlow doesn't behave like most Ghosts or something, and maybe actually wishes that he weren't dead, and doesn't like his rebirthed 'new life' and because of that you fear that he is slowly drifting away from you?" Tensa blurted all of this out rather quickly, after pausing for about fifteen seconds to think.

Serena blinked at him, almost defiantly. "I think...that perhaps Kyn and I should have a talk." Her voice hissed. "And that you shouldn't repeat everything that is said to you, it -WILL- get you into trouble." Just like that, the conversation died, she turned her head on her forepaws and closed her eyes. She wasn't asleep, no, not by a long shot, but that topic, it did more than ruffle her scales, yet she didn't try, didn't dare move away from Heji. The fog was helping keep her from doing something she KNEW she would regret.

{Serena, I'm making my way back to you. Let me know if you're getting this.}

Kyn headed back the way he came with the now deceased Patrat in his hand, and the still non-bloody sword in the other. He re-sheathed it and headed back.

Tensa sighed. "Very well, Serena. Your conversation with Kyn will be an interesting one, I am sure."

{I'm getting it.} The words were pronounced with a measure of hate, and of discontent, her claws dug in the ground. Still she didn't move, but her tail lashed back and forth in anger. It took all of her focus not to bite Heji's head off when the request came. "Heji, let me up please." She was still cold, but it was a different sort of cold. She had offered him ONE token of her trust, and he'd relayed it. Even if it was just to his mate, telling others, it was a betrayal.

{Hang back for a bit, look at the lake or something.} Everyone in the canopy knew now, there was no use hiding it from them.

Marlow couldn't help but notice that Serena's tone was different than normal. A tone that he hadn't heard in a LONG while, and in which case, he absolutely did not want to be anywhere close to Serena at the time. He didn't listen to her second command, and it was indeed a command, not a suggestion, even though it wasn't phrased in the way of a command.

Heji lifted his paw, and at the point it was when he noticed that Serena's tail was... moving like he knew that certain animals including himself did when angry. He'd of course never directly observed his own tail doing it, which would be a tell, but he'd seen other members of his species doing it. He didn't say anything at all.

Kyn made his way back to the camp, not necessarily cheerful, but instead of having his head clear, he had to deal with the Patrat. "I'm back everyone!" He called out.
