#4 of Keshet's Adventure

Now the adventure finally starts. Will he be successful in his mission to retrieve his mother and bring her back home safe? Or is his fate sealed and he will never return back home. Ether way one thing we know for sure is that he is in store for a big adventure that will change his life.

It's been three weeks since I left home in search of Chris and so far I have just wondered the dense woods. I can't help but shake the feeling that I am walking in circles. I have slowly given up hope that I will ever find my way out of these woods. I know I need to head west towards the mountains but I can't seem to find them so far it's only tree after tree.

"Maybe I have made a mistake leaving home in search of my mom." I said to myself as I was chopping down vines to move forward, "And that warning the cheetah gave me in the last town."

"Your looking for Chris?" He asked almost laughing at the thought.

"Yes I am why do you know where I can find him?" I asked getting so excited I almost purred.

"Well I can tell you one thing kid you won't find him." He took a swig of his drink then chuckled "He will find you, but the question is will you be able to survive when he does?"

So apparently Chris has a wide spread paw in his territory which is in the mountain range to the west according to the that cheetah. But I have been walking towards the setting sun for the past two weeks and still nothing. My spirit is slowly breaking.

"Maybe I should just head back and go home." I say out loud as I rest against a tree, "I mean I am just one person and I know nothing of Chris, or my mother."

A scary thought hit me I don't know anything about my mother. What does she look like? Will she be willing to leave with me? Will she even believe me that I'm her son? All these questions and what ifs. I sigh deeply as I look up at the tree I'm sitting under.

"Maybe if I climb this tree I will be able to see where I need to be headed." I tell myself as I map my way up the tree. "And if I don't see any mountains to the west I will turn back home."

As I made my way up the tree the canopy above me started to thin out and I finally saw the sky for the first time in weeks. When I climbed high enough to see over the trees I looked to the west and in the distance I saw them. About a three days walk away were the mountains and they were huge. I mean they climbed so high that they cut through the clouds and continued to climb.

"Wow." Was all I said as I looked out towards the mountains.

A new found energy came over me as I climbed back down and started jogging towards the mountains. I was so excited to find that I was heading in the right direction that I made it in half the time. The mountains were even more amazing up close then from in the distance and they brought a new type of activity to the environment. No more dense forest now the path that lay ahead was a rocky path and a lot of climbing. The sun was starting to set so I decide to go ahead and set up camp under a cliff in the mountain.

"Tomorrow starts a new day and I am finally making progress." I say out loud looking up at the stars. "But also new dangers await this is Chris's territory so he will have eyes and ears in these parts."

It didn't take long for me to go asleep tonight the past few days I've been basically running non stop so I was exhausted. While I slept I dreamed about my goal. I could see the snow leopard with purple eyes holding a leash that lead to the shadows. I don't know how I knew but I knew that the leash was holding my mom and all that was stopping was Chris. I charged at him but for some reason no madder how fast I ran I could not catch up to him. It was as if I was just running in space. Then I heard a loud noise that jerked me awake but I didn't stay awake long because as soon as I opened my eyes I was welcomed with a rock to the face knocking me out again.

...............................................................................................................................................................

"Where is she?" was the firstquestion I heard when I came to.

The voice was female and when I opened my eyes I saw it belonged to a strange looking fox wolf furry. She was blue furred with yellow tips on her ears tail and nose. But the one thing that caught me the most were the dark blue wings folded to her side.

'A furry with wings?' I thought to myself. 'I didn't think there could be such a thing.'

"I'll ask you one more time where is she?" she asked moving inches away from my face.

I tried to back up but found out that I am chained to a poll and don't have much wiggle room. I started to panic this furry is crazy she is accusing me of knowing where this girl is and I have no idea what she is talking about.

"Star he doesn't have anythingto do with your daughters kidnapping." I heard another female voice behind me say.

I tried to look back but I couldn't turn my head enough to get a glimps of who was behind me, but the other voice came as a relief. Finally someone who knows that I have no clue as to whats going on. The person behind my walked up to be beside Star she was a black wolf with red eyes and a grey stomach. She rested a paw on Star's shoulder as Star did something that surprised me.

"If he doesn't know where she is how are we going to find her?" she asked tears forming in the corner of her eyes, "It's been a whole moon and still nothing to even say if she is ok."

The other fur kneeled down next to Star to comfert her. I heard her say a few comferting words but for the most part I didn't catch enough to hear what their conversation. After a little while Star nodded and got up to leave the room. Now whats going to happen to me? Are they going to let me go or keep me like this forever?

"I'm sorry about that she is a little emotional right now." she said as she sat down in front of me "But if you don't know anything about Luna's dissaperance what are you doing here?"

"I am looking for someone." was all I told her sitting up so I can be at eye level with her.

Her right ear flicked a little from impations "You really don't have the room to play around with me kitty."

I held my gaze trying not to show my fear, "I am looking for a snow leopard that goes by the name of Chris."

For a split second I could have swarn that a glimps of fear went past behind her red eyes and her tail curled up a little to rest tightly in her lap. I tilt my head as I hold my gaze.

"Why does that name scare you?" I asked my curiosity growing.

The cheetah back in town did the same thing he flintched at the name. Is he that powerful? And if so why doesn't someone take him out? It seems the farther I get in finding Chris the more I'm starting to second guess myself if I have what it takes to complete my mission and bring my mom back home safe.
