"I guess it's something to do before we rest..come up with team strategies and whatnot."

I watch Zerato closely, I feel like I was more curious to know about him than Druk. He took a breath and fixed his position, bringing his knees to his chest and resting his muzzle and arms atop them.

"My name is Zerato Asus, I'm a Chaos Mage and an ex-member of the Violet Mage Guild. I'm 18 years old but turning 19 in two days.. I master with Chaos Magic.."

Druk nodded lightly.

"Explain to me what this Chaos Magic is, I don't think I've heard of it before, and what makes it different than Dark Magic?"

I idly nibble on my claw as I listen closely to Druks questions and waiting for Zerato's response.

"To put it simple for you, Chaos Magic is the type of magic that the bad guys usually use to get their incredible strength. Dark Magic is levels under Chaos and usually used for illusion and curses, Chaos is just pure power and destruction. It's not something to be taken lightly, as David saw upon my arrival."

I bite down on my claw and stare at him, then I slowly pull my claw from my teeth.

"Well now it's pretty obvious to why you're an ex-member of the Violet Mage Guild, but that also means you're well taught with the basic elements too?

I say a little curious.

"And I'm surprised you're alive actually and that you're not corrupted already."

My voice turned to a more serious and focused tone, Zerato glared at me as I continued to stare back with half-opened eyes.

"Yes I can do the basic elements very well though I never use them, I have no need for such weak magic. And yes, I got expelled from the Violet Mage Guild for studying the forbidden magic, I'm still alive because all the members that tried to take me down were weak so I got rid of them eaily. The guildmaster however.. I didn't chance fighting him when he came since I still didn't know enough about this magic to use it against him so I backed off."

Zerato's voice started to get louder with a growl hidden under his breath as he continued.

"And I'm not corrupted because I've been studying University level magic at a young age because my father is a teacher at the Acanite University of Magic, I've learned to keep myself apart from crossing into the corruption."

I nod lightly my voice still serious sounding.

"Then who helped you with your learnings? I highly doubt that you found anyone to teach you this forbidden magic."

He smirked and sat up, now crossing his legs.

"I'm my own teacher, I managed to steal a two books from the guild and gather information from an elder somewhere. Course what I learned from these things wasn't enough so from then on I created spells of my own. So far I can corrupt weapons while the user is holding it and making it swing at their allies even if they do let go of it, I can create portals, which mind you are much more advanced than the ones you learn at the guild.. though that's still work in progress..I don't always get to the right destination I set, and as I mentioned before powerful destructive attacks."

I snort, he sounded proud that he stole from a well respected guild.

"I still don't believe that you've never fallen to the corruption since you've recieved little help with all this."

"Oh, I have and I've already left my scar on the earth. I will admit, as great as the power felt and the amount of damage I could do without even trying was amazing, however, what I didn't like is the little control over myself I had so I couldn't enjoy it to its fullest."

I look away from Zerato and growl under my breath.

"You're just a power hungry bastard...you're no different than those who let themselves get controlled by Chaos Magic."

As much as I disliked Zerato now, I was somewhat glad to know that he was on our team and not against him.

"Watch your tounge!"

Zerato barked then growled back at me.

"I never told you my reason why I decided to why I chose to learn Chaos Magic in the first place, so don't go making assumptions that I'll be just like the others who failed to control it!"

The chaos magic sparked around him, emitting a soft aura from his body. I snort softly and I keep my gaze away from Zerato, he was clearly pissed.

"Tch.. whatever.."

Druk let out a long sigh and shook his head.

"Thank you for sharing, Zerato. Glad to have you on our side and I wish you luck on your training with this dangerous magic."

Druk bowed slightly towards Zerato, he only grunted and the aura faded off him. He then curled up on the warm ground pulling his hood over, hiding himself under his cloak with Abyss, then Druk turned to me.

"David, your turn."

I softly sigh then nod.

"Right.. My name is David Tsukaro, I like to all myself the Phoenix King and I'm apart of the Tsukaro Clan in Kanavan who are allies with the Royal Erudon Family. I'm 17 years old and i'll be turning 18 in a month and I master with the Phoenix's power, Healing Flames and Swordsmanship."

Druk raised a brow.

"Well you're full of talent, aren't cha? How'd you achieve the Phoenix's power?"

He chuckled softly and I smile a bit.

"Well, the Tsukaro Clan masters with Fire Magic. I made a promise that I'd train and also become a better person for my dad before he got killed on a mission. My progression with it was a bit faster than usual and some believed that I had help from the Phoenix's Flames, which is our mascot by the way even though it's not on our clan symbol. Anyway, our clan held two items that were blessed by the Phoenix's power."

I take out my staff and lay it in front of me then I unsheath my sword laying it on my left.

"The Divine Staff of Fire and the Phoenix Blade. Now, when I was told that I was chosen by the Phoenix to weild his treasured items I had a lot of doubt that it was true, like I was 15 at the time so how could I not think like that? But I went for it anyway and surprisingly I didn't burst into an inextinguishable flame when I grabbed it them, at the time I had no interest in swordsmanship but I had to learn it and took classes with the Erudon Family with the Queen's permission. And yea.. training just went on from there.. was a lot of meditating so I could communicate with the Phoenix and stuff which was pretty cool."

Druk smiled softly and nodded.

"That's quite interesting, now you said healing flames? I'm no genius when it comes to magic so a lot of this is new to me."

I chuckle then I grip the Phoenix Blade, wincing in pain as it cuts at my paw causing it to bleed, Druk looked at me surprised.

"Ngh.. yea, I got help from the Phoenix and learned to use some flames to heal wounds, the Erudon Family could do it as well but only those who reached the Dragon Knight rank."

A blue flame escaped my maw as I blew down onto my wounded paw, my paw got engulfed in the blue flame and I purr as I feel it tending to my wound.

"Now since I got the Phoenix's power as a bonus, it heals deeper wounds and faster than a Dragon Knights. They call theirs Holy Inferno while I call mine Divine Inferno, hehe."

I make a fist and the blue flame bursts off my paw, I slowly open my paw showing that my wound was fully healed.

"That's truely amazing, David, it really is."

I chuckle and smile big, swishing my tail happily.

"Thanks, Druk. Hehe.."

I then fall onto my back staring at the top of the cave, resting my paws behind my head.

"Oh, I forgot to mention.."

"Hmm?"

"I can also revived fallen allies by taking a feather from the Phoenix, but I can only do that twice every two days."

I roll over onto my side getting comfy, my tail flopping over my waist as I look at the fire.

"That's really good to know, but hopefully you'll never have to use it while on the test."

I nod and gently close my eyes, relaxing to the warmth of the fire.

"Well I'll stay up and keep guard for now just incase.. you two have a good rest."

Druk said, I heard him getting up and taking a few steps, I give a light grunt with a little nod and I relax completely trying to fall asleep.

Druk's POV

Even though I learned more about Zerato he's still rather mysterious, I can't tell if his attitude is just who he is or if it's the magic taking a toll on him. I shake my head and sigh softly, I look back to both David and Zerato who seem to be fast asleep, I realize they're both unconsiously emitting a soft aura of their magic color; soft orange glow around David and a soft purple glow around Zerato.. I wonder if that happens to me when I sleep or if it's even normal.

I shrug and wander over to the door we came to, charging my hand so I could have more light. I bring the light closer to the door so I could look at the lines more carefully, I scan over the door carefully, my eyes following the lines then I sigh backing away from it.

"I can look at it as much as I want to, but I won't figure anything out about it.. I don't study magical things..."

I mumble as I walk back to the campsite, I look into the large open space leading deeper into the cave and I wonder about what made these caves. I crouch down and I roll a ball of lightning across the ground deeper into the large opening, as it rolls along it reveals the still empty space but I also start to hear a loud hissing noise. My ears lower and I discharge the electric orb and grunt as the hissing subsides.

"What was that? Something living in the cave?"

My ears slowly stand again and I stare into the space, I was tempted to travel deeper to see what it was. I shake y head a bit and move back to the fire where I sit and stare into the opening, watching it carefully. I sit there for what feels like an hour, I've been slowly dozing off, struggling to stay awake. I try to shock myself to stay awake, but it doesn't help much.. my body's too used to it. I eventually pass out sprawling out over the ground, probably snoring or so what my team mates told me back in Silverland.
