Water: a poem

Water

Like a blanket it envelopes,

Supports the body, the mind develops,

Moving through it there is freedom,

Weightlessness and life all around.

Coming up the air is breezy,

Thoughts are gone and life is easy,

Kicking and swirling to stay above,

Enough time to catch ones breath.

Going down once again,

Moving in elegance and then,

Feeling the lightness under pressure,

A smile plays across wet lips.

There forever we want to stay,

Soaring weightlessly, but to our dismay,

Up again we must return,

Our bodies not meant to be free.
