Chapter one, When I Met You

When I met you, the sky was dark with clouds of sorrow, balancing across the city tops. "Such a quiet night," A slender, plain boy who now was slipping a large pair of headsets from around his golden tined furred neck till they held around his floppy ears. After adjusting the padded speakers to just the right position around his head, the k9 dug his right hand into the pouch stitched into his baggy jeans, while digging, slightly pulling the jeans down to reveal a pair of gray boxers snuggly holding on to his hips. The pad of his playful thumb skidded across the glassy screen, in reaction, the screen swiftly swept into a selection of songs. The scrolling of his randomizer stopped in a blue selected light. "Ke$sha- Die Young" which brought a slight smile to his thin charcoal colored chop as he stuffed the ipod back into the depths of his back pocket. Boom boom boom, The beat raced like a heartbeat, catching on to his movement. The male grabbed the strings of his work apron throwing it across the front counter, next the cash register, his name tag hanging off the white t-shirt that was once hidden. 'Hi! My name is Jason, how may I help you?'

Swaying his hips, he grabbed the handle of the broom set against the front counter and started to shuffle his sneakers, which slid against the store's floor easily. Jason twisted his body, taking the broom with his swing as he started to dance and jostle his feet using the broom as a counterbalance so he wouldn't fall and make a fool of himself.

The empty store made the perfect dance studio for the young man, the reflection of his dancing form whipping around from side to side, lip syncing perfectly. Jason trailed off, cleaning while also practicing his dance routine. Because of the pumping loud music humming through his ears, he didn't hear the bell above the customer door ring a jingle in signal that someone had entered.

Jason jostled around pushing the stick of his broom to his breast, pushing it out again to pop his feet in the groove just to take the repeated steps backwards to soon run into the broad chest. 'Pft' Jason scolded himself, his slim shoulders shrinking as he jumped forward and spinning on his toes back around to find the most mysterious set of sunglasses, incising the secret of his eyes, owned by the stranger, whom had just came in moments ago. With a gated jaw, Jason slid his headphones off his ears in amazement and awe as a tall figure stood before him. Jason scanned his gaze over the male, the strong muzzle, with a black nose, trimmed gray siding fur on his neck, head while the complementary blue-white tummy and throat fur made his muddy glance seem almost more clearer, yet keeping the mystery. The stranger fixed the collar of his leather jacket's collar, popping it up, shaking the rain water off with ease as he pulled off his shades. Jason's eyes and brows twinged with a sudden rush of affection, heart starting to race, palms becoming sweety with nerves. Now, standing so effortlessly, the deepest, mysterious, onyx eyes, two irises dancing in thick pools of deep warmth, a hint of coldness and loneliness to them under the first coat that was meant to hide the strangers deepest emotions. "H-hi, how may I Jason you I'm help, I-I mean-," jason stuttered like a fool, his whole light peach white facial fur becoming red with the blush of his embarrassment. "I'll help m'self," The stranger, his voice like dark chocolate, smooth and deep sending shivers down Jason's spine. "Right- good going Jason, you totally made yourself look like a dork!" Jason thought as he sighed and worked his way back to the cash register while keeping an eye on the stranger, who walked quietly through the isle. With the ability to get focused once more, Jason found the ripped holey jeans, a chain from his belt loop to his back pocket, even the tail of a darker T under the black leather jacket, all in combo to create the image of either a, a biker, or b, a rocker. Either way, Jason found his ensembled look, pleasing to the eye. After a few moments, the stranger came back up to the desk, one hand holding a six pack of beer, and the other a pack of jerky, placing both down on the white countertop next to the cash register. "Sorry, I have to see ID," Jason gave an innocent smile, trying to cover up the blush and the wiggle in his throat that wouldn't settle. "Understandable," The stranger said, digging out the wallet that hung off the chain from his belt loop pulling out a bit of plastic and throwing it down between the two items. Jason held his heart in his throat, a sudden slowdown of time as his paw reached for the card. Hs fingertips skidding over the sleek cove soon pulling it closer to his face, first reading the age, then the name out of curiosity. "Isn't this wrong, I can't go snooping, I shouldn't be getting his name- but, I can't-help but- Dean Mason," Jason thought silently, the name rolling around his mind as he gave back the card, after a quick glance at the photo, of course, then continued to scan and bag the items purchased. "Have a great day, come back soon," Jason gulped keeping his eyes perched on the countertop. "Thanks, I will," The stranger, Dean Mason, winked at the shy male and walked out, slinging the bag over jerky and beer over his shoulder. "Oh, and nice moves," Dean smirked chuckling as the click of the bell rang and rang again as the door shut behind the stranger's heels. Jason stood frozen. "Wh-what did he say?"
