The Train to my World
A short poem I wrote a while back.
I stand by the track
I watch and listen for the sound I love
The sight and sound that can take me to my place of peace
As the train appears my excitement escalates
The whistle is its greeting yet farewell
As the engine arrives my world has arrived
I'm left with joy as the iron horse rolls by
The clatter of the cars follows its leader
I wave one last time and I rejoin the real world
