#1 of The Tail Underground (Fanfic)

It's a dark and stormy night out at sea. Thunder crashes and lightning flashes across the sky. For me at the bow of the ship challenging the rough seas and weather, it was invigorating. The cold, howling wind and rain, the sound of thunder and the light of lighting. The sea tossing the ship around at its mecry. All of it was nothing I feared, but what I enjoyed. For 5 years I had sailed all the seas and oceans in the worst weather imagineable for a seafarer, sure there were a few close calls, but I still came out and ready to go again... But on today's dangerous dance with death, I won't ever come back to travel the seas again in this world. I am Alex, a 23 year old, male Human standing at about 6'4 with short black hair, on my left arm I have a tattoo of my family's coat of arms and on the other arm I have my "gang sign" (which can be seen carefully when you look at my profile pic on the wrist gauntlet and on the small box on the right). And today, the 12th of December in the year of 2012, one world ends and another begins.

The gods of the sky and the gods of the sea hurled the ship up in to air and let it fall back down to it's destruction, I at the bow of the ship in a quick gasp I think. as I fly loose from the railing, 'So, this is how it all ends for me today, to die an adventerous seafarer. Well so this is how...sp away we go now. In to the next life.'

I fall down towards the ravaging waters, the rain, lighting, water, and sounds begin to all move slowly. Through the air I fall with a smile upon my face as I finally meet my end, I close my eyes before I hit the ice water, at peace in the silence that surrounds me all I hear is the sweet symphony of stings playing a peaceful song, a sad and mournful song. I hit the ice water, I slowly float down towards my grave and the Darkness with it's brother Silence finally take me.

Rough and soft touch to my skin, the sounds of a gentle surf rolling in on to the beach and rolling back on it's self as it rolls back out. A small and relaxing breeze blows over the area in which I lay, regaining my conciousness. 'So, this is heaven. A nice, relaxing beach on an island of paridise.'

I lay there on the beach letting the surf lick at my feet, eyes close enjoying the 'afterlife,' my ears listening to the gentle surf and rustling of the trees, when I recieved a bad premonition tingling down my spine. Soft foot falls on the sand coming towards me, and a shadow falls over my face blocking out the blinding sun. I open my eyes slowly to see what it is that stands over me in my relaxed position, 'Probably just an angel to greet and meet me in to heaven.' Never in all my years of dreaming did I ever to excpet what happen next. Over my head stood a white fox, in a nice red shirt and black vest staring back at me bewildered and inquisitively.

"Am I dead, my good fellow?" I asked, my voice coarse from the salt water.

"No, no good sir, you are not dead, but you are badly hurt. Please let me take you to the healer and doctor." It replied.

"Well then, my friend, let us go. But let me ask of you your name. What is it?" I asked as I weakly and shakily get up off the sand. The fox throwing his arm around me to give me support and to help lift me off up. THe fox and I began to walk, though I with great difficulty due to my sea legs, answered me.

"I, good sir, am Sir Ian Soulfox, you sir are on the coast of Arca, on the Sea of Veren."

So, into the world of another dimesion, in to the Kingdom of Arca, is where I've been brought to. This is going to be an intersting place.................

My god, what a horrid mess I must have looked cuts, gashes and bruises all over my body, my pants ripped in several places, and the shirt I was wearing was totally torn. Luckily Ian, happen to grab a sheet hanging to dry as we walked towards the city. The sheet was long enough to hide thae fact that I was not like every one else here in this world. I am very lucky that Ian is unbias towards such an oddity in the world and that he decided to help me.

We walked through the gates of the inner citadel and well, I had to say my breath was taken away. Even for medieval architecture the city was simply stunning, from the simply housing to the great cathedrals and palace in the distance.

Through the city streets we walked, following the natrual cuvers of the hills they paved over. I oooh'ed and aww'ed at the items in the store windows and still at the architecuter.

"Amazing place Arca is, yes? Yes a very beautiful city with great citizens, shops and food and drink." says Ian as wel continue to walk the great cobble stone boulevards, eventually leading down an alley way towards the unknown destination.

That tingly feeling I get when something is wrong, shivers it's way down my spine. As I open my mouth to say something a pair of Arca city guards block our path infront of us. 'Either they figured out that I'm an outsider and a xeno in a technical way, or its all a set up.'

"You there citizen, who is that you carry with you, and why is he hidden under that sheet? What is it you are hiding under there?'" One of the guards says pointing at me. Both the guards are tigers, with heavy shields and with broad swords in their scabbards, but menacing

none the less. 'What a pitty, I have to kill a couple of tigers now.'

I ready my self to fight, assessing how I can quickly get one of the swords, when the guards just stare off in to space, gazing directly at us with that kind of middle stare when no one is home.

"Oh god, thank you, Voldern. Just, erm..., send them off like they just had some fun, not to attract any attention please." Ian says with a sigh of relief.

"Sure thing Ian. Oh and to the fellow Ian brings, welcome to the Tail Underground." With a flick of his wrist the guards walk out of the alley laughing as though they just saw something funny, and then Voldern gusters towards a door with a sign over it. The words that were written on it I could not understand, but I knew where I was.

"Uh, Voldern, I'm going to need a favor, I'm going to need you to brew something up in order to help this poor fellow here. He is very badly injured."

"Sure thing, Ian, but its going to cost you. Come, let's bring him inside and put him down to rest comfortably on a bed, while I get a tonic for him." Voldern giggles and lends a hand helping towards the tavern and from what I could see, what ever payment Voldern has in mind, is something to excite them both.

'Oh, this is going to be a very intersting place and an even more interesting stay.......'

So that's the end for now.

I, ToR, am new at writting stories and would greatly appreciate some feedback as to how I could improve my writting in anyways. This of course does not have any yiff in it, but will in the upcoming chapters of my series. Please comment on the story, I find it easier to see what I did wrong or what I could change if you could point it out instead of just rating and making me find my flaw which I most likely won't ever see.

-More to come, ToR.

P.S. The kingdom of Arca, Sir Ian Soulfox are not of my own creations, they are of Ian Rain Soulfox himself as well as any other character he has created or places.
