#3 of Worthless

Here you go. The first chapter had such a good reaction that I decided to start the next immediately, I managed to finish sooner than expected.

Please feel free to pint out any errors. Thank you :)

Not so long ago.

"Listen up!" Silence fell, and listen we did. "My immediate employer has been hassled by the company commitee to "Abide by the rules of the SPCH" Ruaridh spoke slowly, as if we would struggle to understand.

"Don't get your hopes up." He smiled now "These new rules won't improve your lives...but they will improve mine."

Oh no.

"The first condition presented" Ruaridh continued. "Is that all slaves are made to understand the reasons for their enslavement." He pulled out a slip of paper and began to read it out.

"As of the treaty of 1900, all humans are to be yada yada yada, bullshit" He crumpled up and threw away the sheet. An expression of distaste on his face.

"You're here...Because you're worthless." He now marched back and forth along the line. Much like a classic drill sergeant. "Y_our ancestors made some bad decisions, and they paid for it...And now you are too_." He was growling.

"You did horrible things. You killed, maimed and destroyed. You were evil! And so my kind rose against you, brought you to the level of the...beasts you behaved as." We could see the rage and hate in his eyes. Any human who stepped out of line now would suffer greatly. "And here you are now; slaves, pets, guinea pigs. Never again will you rise, never again will you be free. THAT is the legacy of the Bloody. Human. Race!" He stopped marching.

"Do you understand." He growled. Silence.

"SPEAK!" he barked.

"Yes sir." Came the response.

"Good, you're all worthless. Never forget it." We wouldn't, I assure you we wouldn't.

"The second condition, and my personal favorite, is the introduction of the 'Mark 2 discipline system'. In short, it's just another way to make your lives unpleasant." He gestured to the crate behind him.

"The SPCH didn't say that we should stop punishing you, they said to stop displaying the signs of punishment. And these..." He picked a black collar out of the box "Will do just that...I need a 'volenteer'. James, go find me a lab-rat."

The slaver next to him obeyed, walking along the line looking for a slave in need of discipline. Unfortunately, I made the mistake of making brief eye contact with him. A crime he deemed worthy of punishment. He grabbed me by the arm and pulled me up to the front.

"Here you go." He said to Ruaridh. Pushing me forward.

"Very good, now...hold still." He placed the collar on my neck and pulled it tight. I could barely breath. Once it was tightly fastened he stepped back and left me facing the other slaves.

"Three...two...one..." He spun a dial on the remote he held.

Instantly tremendous pain shot through my body, I couldn't breath, I couldn't see, I couldn't think. It was as if every bone in my body was trying to rip free, and every muscle was tearing. Finally after what felt like hours, but was really a few seconds. The pain stopped.

"This, is the future." Ruaridh ignored me panting on the ground while the rest of the slaves stared at me. Wide eyed. "Get used to it." He spoke to me now.

"You're all worthless."

.......................................................................................................................................................................

"You okay there Silver." I was torn from my memories by Sean's voice and looked across to see him giving me a concerned glance before looking back at the road. "You look troubled."

"...I...um yes sir, I'm fine." I mumbled in response looking away. Only to look back when I heard him laughing.

"Please don't call me sir Silver, it's just Sean. Okay?"

"Okay...Sean." I responded hesitantly.

"See? That wasn't so hard. Well you can stop moping now, we're almost there." He chuckled.

I was still nervous, Sean seemed nice. But that could mean anything. And as we came closer to our destination, I came closer to my fate. Whatever it may be. Sean interrupted my thoughts.

"Here we are." I hadn't noticed how far into the country we had gone until now. "Home sweet home."

It was a fairly modest, yet beautiful house. Ivy grew up the walls and it was surrounded by trees.

"Come on Silver, follow me. And take that collar off. You don't need it anymore." Sean said as he stepped out of the car and opened the door for me.

"I...uh, I don't know how." I looked down at my feet.

"Don't worry. I'll get it." He went behind me and started fiddling with the straps.

"Wait!." I exclaimed_, S_ean stopped. "It's a shock collar, if I try to take it off..."

_ "Don't worry."_ As he continued to loosen the straps._ "They're deactivated when the sale is made."_ He gave another yank and the collar came off. "The slaver who sold you told me."

"His name is Ruaridh." I told him.

"I didn't like him. I can tell that he enjoys what he does." He announced, walking towards the house. Beckoning for me to follow.

"He does." I replied, following him_._

Sean stopped at the door and opened it, gesturing for me to enter. I did, everything inside was beautiful yet modest. The furniture, the wallpapers, the decorations.

"You have a beautiful home." I told him, standing in the hall way. Sean smiled and put a paw on my shoulder.

_"We have a beautiful home." _
