#12 of Evens and Dante's Adventure in Unova
Sorry for the long wait. I had finals so I couldn't really do anything but school work. But here is the next chapter. I will also be switching out Dante's Pokémon, so don't freak out when it happens.
New Kind of Evolution
The dirt road that Dante and Evens were on is almost a straight shot to the next town. Two days into the trip Evens and Dante were resting in a field in the middle of breakfast when a trainer came across them. The other sent out an Excadrill, "I challenge the both of you to a battle." Evens and Dante just ignored him as they continued eating breakfast. The trainer started laughing, "Ha you are terrified by my awesomeness." The trainer continued to insult them. After about ten minutes the trainer went to push Dante when he passed right through him. The trainer got up looking at the vanishing camp site. Down the road he could see Evens and Dante. Sprinting the trainer makes it in front of them, "I see that you have noticed my excellence and decided to run away, a wise choice." Evens and Dante just walked past him without faltering. Evens and Dante had heard the trainer boasting about himself, "I bet that you pathetic Zoroark can't even land one hit on my Excadrill." Evens stopped and looked at Zoroark, "make it fast we are almost to the next town." Zoroark nodded squaring off against Excadrill. The trainer proudly shouts, "Excadril use drill run!" Excadrill speeds towards Zoroark, "too afraid to give a command, I know you must be frozen because of my skill." Zoroark catches Excadrill and slams it into the ground. Excadrill is knocked unconscious; the trainer stands dumbstruck at the turn of events. Dante and Evens continue on to the next city.
A bridge appeared in the distance, cars were rushing by paying no mind too the two travelers. Crossing the bridge was not difficult but it did give Evens and Dante time to actually see the city. If you ever see the New York skyline even in a picture then the sight that those two saw would be just that. The Pokémon center was a tall building easily spotted among the other buildings. Walking through the streets Evens noticed Dante smirking the entire time, "what's put you in such a good mood?" Dante takes a deep breath, "while this may not be home it sure does feel like it." Evens just laughed and the two continued their way to the Pokémon center. When they get in front of the center Evens looked straight up, "calling this a Pokémon center would be an understatement; it's more like a Pokémon headquarters." As the two enter they drop off their Pokémon for a checkup, Dante gets the rooms while Evens makes a call to professor juniper.
The phone rang twice before the professor picked up the line, "hey Evens hey are you?" "I'm good, I'm in Castelia city." "Wow that must have been a sight." "Yeah, back where I'm from there is a city called New York and the city looks just like it." The professor smiled, "well it seems like you're doing alright, how's the egg?" "It still hasn't hatched yet but the shell is cracked and the last Pokémon center had said that it would hatch soon." The professor put on a serious look, "will you be alright when it hatches?" Evens laughed a little, "yup, when Dante's egg hatched everyone was on guard so I don't think this one will be any different." The professor softened a little, "well keep me posted if anything alright?" Evens nodded, "yup, I'll keep you posted." As Evens was hanging up the phone the professor added one last thing, "oh and before I forget tell Dante that his Pokémon should be there in a few minutes." A little confused Evens nodded, "got it I'll tell him." With that last exchange Evens hung up the phone and found Dante, "the professor said that your Pokémon would be here in a few minutes." Sure enough nurse joy announced over the speaker for Dante to report to the front desk to pick up his Pokémon. Evens followed Dante, "I thought that Sawsbuck, Galvantula, and Gothorita were your only Pokémon?" Dante shock his head, "I got here before you obviously, so I meet more Pokémon." At the front desk Dante gives nurse joy two Pokéballs while she hands him two in return. "And these are them." Dante held out the two Pokéballs, two orbs of light appeared and then formed two Pokémon. Out of the light a Luxray and Fraxure appeared and stretched. Luxray had a husky female voice, "what took you so long, I thought you had forgotten us." Fraxure brushed his tusks, his voice sounds just like Sid the sloth, "the last time we were out was when we faced off against morgana." Evens sends out Golett and Dewott, Dante motions to Evens and his Pokémon, "this is Evens and his Pokémon, they'll be traveling with us for a while so try to get along alright?" both nod step forward to introduce themselves, "Gothorita show everyone to their rooms, me and Evens are gonna check out the gym." Gothorita nods and escorts everyone down the hallway.
Outside Evens and Dante head toward the gym which was difficult to find since the only discerning sign that it was a gym was a small banner over the main entrance that stated that it was a gym. Evens looks at the building, "if I remember the game right the gym leader is a fashion designer for the whole region." Dante gives a low whistle, "then how can he maintain a gym if his is a fashion designer?" "I think the battles help him, I don't know I'm just going off of the show and a game, it could be a completely different thing." Entering the building the main lobby resembles an art gallery. Towards the back area a pair of doors led to the outside. Outside a battle field was painted into the grass of a large garden. Several people were sitting down sketching Pokémon or the scenery. One person in particular stood out, he was standing up and gesturing too many different objects while instructing everyone about the artist beauty of the garden. Evens and Dante enter his field of view, he calmly steps toward them, "I take it that you wish to challenge the gym?" Both nod, "Then I must ask that you be patient, I will be accepting challenges after three, and if you would give your names to my secretary I can accept your challenges in an orderly fashion." A tall well-dressed woman appears next to Evens and Dante, she is holding out a clipboard with a pen. Evens writes his name first then Dante after, then woman takes back the clipboard, "around 2:30 I will send a notification to the Pokémon center, please be sure to receive it so we can keep the challengers in order." Dante checks the time, it's 10:30, giving the both of them time to think of a strategy.
Back at the Pokémon center Evens and Dante's Pokémon were getting to know each other. Fraxure taking an interest in Golett, "so your original master left you in town where you met your new master?" Golett nodded, "yes master looked a lot like my old master, but master is much kinder, he hasn't abandoned me because I lost a battle." Fraxure patted Golett on the shoulder, "everyone is bound to lose at some point, your old master must not have been aware of that fact." Fraxure then turned his attention to Dewott, "so how did you meet your master?" Dewott was rubbing his shell, "I dragged him out of a river that I was using to clean my shell." Fraxure looked confused, "what do you mean you dragged him out of the river, how did he get in there in the first place?" Dewott just shrugged, "when I was cleaning my shell a whirlpool formed and he came out." Fraxure crossed his arms, "my master fell out of a tree, and he didn't know how he got there." On the other side of the room Luxray and Zoroark were talking, "so tell me about your master." Zoroark was playing with her hair, "what can I say I tried to kill him and he ends up taking me to a Pokémon center to be healed after Dewott over there almost cut me in half." Luxray looked at Dewott with an awe struck look, "so he almost kills you and you are ok with that?" Zoroark replied, "It was a complicated situation, I thought he was the same person who had my mother, but that turned out to be wrong, we met the real bastard and he tried to get my mom back." Luxray touched Zoroark's paw in a reassuring manner, "but he is an ok master right?" Zoroark looks down blushing, "he is very kind, he treats everyone like family, no one is left out in the cold at night, and everyone get a share of food." Luxray looks more closely at Zoroark, "are you sure that is all?" Zoroark looks away nervously, "yeah I'm sure, there is nothing else." Luxray smirks a little. There is a knock on the door and Evens enters the room, Zoroark perks up right away rushing over to greet her trainer. Luxray smiled and moved to greet her own trainer.
Several hours passed as Evens and Dante were waiting for the message for the gym leader's secretary. Evens had decided to use several combination moves with Dewott to make up for his type disadvantage. Zoroark was to rely on her illusions to fake out certain attacks. And Golett was told to deliver as many power strikes as possible to finish the fight quickly. Dante was in his room going over his strategy. Sure enough at 2:30 they received a call from the front desk that the gym leader was ready for their challenge. Both trainers made their way to the gym again; the front lobby was completely empty. Outside there were stands were people had packed completely, everyone was chit chatting about the two challengers that the gym leader was going to face. The gym leader was standing on the opposite side of the field, when Evens and Dante walked through the doors the gym leader spoke, "hello my name in Burgh, because you two are my first challengers after I completed my new line of clothing I will take you both on." Dante and Evens looked at each other confused; neither of them was anticipating a double battle. Burgh sent out Leavanny and Scizor. "These two shall be your opponents." Evens and Dante took their positions in the challenger's box; Zoroark revealed herself and stepped forward, Gothorita stepped out from behind Dante and took her position on the field. The referee stepped out onto mid-field, "this will be a double battle when both Pokémon of either side is knocked unconscious the match is over, do the challengers understand this?" both nod, "then let the battle BEGIN!"
Burgh makes the first move, "Scizor use metal claw, Leavanny use slash!" both Pokémon sprint forward closing in on Gothorita and Zoroark. Neither moved, Scizor and Leavanny slice through them both to see that they were an illusion, "Zoroark use night slash," "Gothorita use shadow ball!" Zoroark attacks Scizor while Gothorita throws the ball at Leavanny. Scizor blocks the night slash, despite his block it still pushes him back a few feet. Leavanny dodges the shadow ball and slashes at Gothorita again. Gothorita is sent tumbling across the field. Zoroark is momentarily distracted giving Scizor the time it needed to throw her off balance. Gothorita got back up, dusting itself off, "they're faster than I thought." Zoroark readjusted her position to face Scizor. Zoroark feinted forward before disappearing; a small cloud of smoke was all that could be seen. Gothorita charges at Leavanny again with two shadow balls in hand. For the next few minutes neither Dante nor Evens issued any orders, Burg on the other hand was frantic in trying to have a move land well enough to cause some sort of damage. Both trainers trusted their Pokémon to make the right choice in moves and would only intervene when a chance presented itself. The crowd was going wild at the intense battle. Suddenly Burg grew silent, the lights dimmed and his Pokémon stopped their actions, Evens and Dante motioned them to stop but be on guard. A spot light shine on Burg, "ladies and gentlemen please give these two a round of applause for they have just given me my new inspiration." Dante and Evens look at each other in a confused manner. The lights relit and Burg pointed at Zoroark and Gothorita, "Scizor, Leavanny show those two a wonderful fashion show." The two stood taller than before, Evens leaned toward Dante, "the real match starts now." Dante nodded. Burg clapped his hands, "Scizor Leavanny use x-scissor." Both Pokémon honed in on Zoroark, the speed at which they took off caught Zoroark off guard. Gothorita had read their minds and knew what they were doing so she had already started moving when Scizor and Leavanny were about to attack. Evens brain was on hyper drive as the scene played out in front of him. He knew he couldn't yell dodge fast enough and he could see the Zoroark was skill processing the sudden speed boost the enemy had. What he didn't see was Gothorita five steps away, before Scizor and Leavanny could reach Zoroark Gothorita had stepped in front to take the hits. Just as Scizor and Leavanny were about to connect with Gothorita a bright light enveloped the field. Leavanny was sent flying toward the stands and Scizor was sent flying toward the gym leader. Everyone is stunned, the gym leader more so, he had thought that the match was already his. As the dust cleared two Pokémon emerged, Zoroark and a second unknown Pokémon. The other Pokémon had on a chine dress with a gold dragon circling the front and back, the Pokémon had on boot that were also black with the laces being of a gold color. The Pokémon had two orbs attached to its head but those were just the ox horn buns, the first thing that came to Evens mind when he saw the Pokémon was, "she looks just like Chun-Li." Both Evens and Dante's Pokédex vibrate; the Pokémon is scanned, searched, and found in the database. The Pokédex reads the information as such, "Goth-Li the fighting psychic Pokémon, through rigorously training its mind it has overcome every mental barrier to unlock the hidden power residing within itself." Dante checked the moves that Goth-Li knew Shadow ball, Psyshock, Psyco Blast, Gatling Strike, and Axe kick. While that was going on Goth-Li was checking out her new body, "well this is different, I thought I would evolve into Gothitelle." Goth-Li ran her hands around the curves of her new body, "well I'm curvier then what I was before, my legs are longer, and I'm wearing a dress." Burg recovering from the new predicament issued his orders, "Scizor metal claw and Leavanny use leaf blade." Dante gave Goth-Li orders, "I guess we'll try out the axe kick." Goth-Li almost disappeared completely; she was a barely visible blur when she came back into focus. She reappeared spinning in the air above Scizor, Scizor stopped to look up just as Goth-Li was bringing her heel down on his head. The force of the kick not only knocked out Scizor but it also created a big crater in the field that threw Leavanny off balance. Zoroark was just standing there in awe of what just happened; practically everyone was in awe, Goth-Li landed a few feet away from Scizor. The judge finally made a call, "Scizor is unable to battle, the match will continue." Dante was still looking at the Pokédex figuring out what the other moves that Goth-Li did. Dante called out the attack, "Goth-Li use Gatling strike." Goth-Li spun in place then disappeared, reappearing underneath leavanny's field of vision. Goth-Li delivered a backward kick to leavanny's mid-section, and then with the same foot continued to deliver devastatingly fast kicks to Leavanny. The bug Pokémon was still registering that Goth-Li had disappeared when her body suddenly realized that she was being kicked. While type wise fighting moves should not be as effective against bug and grass types, the placement of each kick centered on five points of her mid-section. At the end of the attack Leavanny is still standing, Burg tries to give an order, "Leavanny use leaf blade." Dante tries out the last new move that Goth-Li learned, "Goth-Li use psyco blast." As Leavanny was bringing down her arm Goth-Li blocked it and brought her other fist to the center of leavanny's mid-section, the air around her fist warped and ball of light quickly formed around her hand. As the ball got bigger the more distorted the air around it became until the ball was the size of a basketball, when it reached that size Goth-Li fire the ball of light directly into the unprotected mid-section of Leavanny. The blast sent Leavanny almost completely through the wall behind her. The judge made his final call, "Leavanny is unable battle the challengers are the winner."
I'm really sorry about the late entry, but I managed to get this chapter done. If anyone can think of a better name for the new evolution I would appreciate it. The next chapter is also in the works so please patiently look forward to the next one. _ _
