Stone and Jillian, after an extremely warm welcome from the Elder Council, are imprisoned for treason and sentenced to death. This story picks up after sentencing.

"You can lock me up, you can torture me, you can make me eat dirt but in the end, I'll never break." said Jillian as she leaned against the cell door. "For I am woman. Hear me roar."

The holding cell was a darker shade of white, much like the color of printer paper. In the corner, next to the door, sat the silver toilet/sink. Stone hadn't been in a holding cell since the old days. Jillian on the other hand, that's a different story. It had been two hours since their imprisonment/welcome home and already the future looked grim. The elder council wasn't as forgiving as the foxes and sentenced Stone and Jillian to death. For Stone it was understandable but for Jillian?

"Would you please shut up?" said Stone as he sat down on the only cot in the room. "You've been saying the same thing for the last two hours and for the love of the elder wolves...get over it already."

"I can't help it, I'm bored" came Jillian's cheerful reply.

"Well could you be bored more quietly? Some of us would like to keep our sanity."

Jillian kicked the bottom of the locked door, "Right, it's all my fault that we're in here. I fail to see how I'm a traitor when I wasn't even around during that era. I mean what gives?" True, Jillian wasn't around back then and had trouble coming to terms with their quick and expeditious imprisonment.

"Your guilty by association is all. Nothing more." said Stone.

"Nothing more? Nothing more!? We're in a goddamn holding cell awaiting execution and you treat it as though there's nothing wrong! We're at war with god knows what and you're doing nothing but sitting there with your head up your ass. Move over! I'm gonna lie down and enjoy my last few moments."

Stone stood up and went over to the toilet, "What about you? Given any thought to how we're gonna get out of here?"

"Nope. I figured its your turn to ramble on while I lay here and do nothing."

"You're in despair. I get that but-"

"No offense, Stone. I totally get what you're saying, I'm just not listening."

"Oh I get it. This is one of those things women do, right? You can't solve a problem so you blame the only guy in the room."

"You're very good at this game, aren't you?"

"What if I told you we're not going to be in here any longer?"

"Well no shit Sherlock. You finally get that into your head?" mocked Jillian as she turned onto her side to face the wall.

A lone wolfess stepped into the dimly lit hallway and proceeded towards the two guards by the cell door. Her bushy tail going with the flow of every step she strode, albeit to the tune of a song only heard in her mind. Her uniform a darker shade of gray that accented her fur and highlighted her jet black hair. The light accentuated her soft, silvery eyes as she drew closer and closer to her objective.

"If only I wasn't on duty right now." a guard said to the other shortly before chuckling to himself. "Sorry ma'am you can't go any further. This cell is off limits."

"I promise I won't be long." said Rai. "I just want to say 'Hi' to my father."

"You're father!? You've got to be kidding me. That guy in there is your father? You must think I was born yesterday."

"(sigh) We can do this the easy way or the hard way. So what's it going to be fellas?"

"Is that a threat? Because I've heard-"

In a quick set of motions Rai dropped the guard in front of her, drew her pistol and pointed it at the other. "You're move.", she said, pulling back the hammer on her pistol.

"You really leave me no choice here."

"The door. Now." commanded Rai, motioning with her pistol towards the door.

The cell door opened and the body of the unconscious guard fell in as Stone looked on, "You mind explaining why you're late?" Rai stepped in, "Sorry sir, dad. It wasn't easy locating you after you arrived."

"Vehicle?"

"Silver jeep. Parked outside."

"Dad!?" came Jillian's shocked voice as she sat up. "Am I missing something here?"

"Long story" said Stone. "But now is not the time. We need to get out of here. Come on!"

Once free of the confines of wolven hospitality Stone, Jillian and the new girl are found driving towards an undisclosed location somewhere in the mountains surrounding the Den.

"So explain to me again on how she is your daughter?" asked a puzzled Jillian. "And this time pretend I know nothing about cryogenics or DNA sequencing."

"(sigh) You know how cloning and genetic engineering are used to cure diseases and such? Well using the technology available, back then, I was able to create an heir to the Black Wolf name."

"You're still not coming through."

"Dad...I got this." said Rai. "I was created from my mother's eggs and my fathers sperm-"

"Duh!" came Jillian's sarcastic remark.

"Let me finish?", said Rai after glancing into the rear view mirror.

"Fine."

"I was created using collected eggs from my dead mothers womb and grown in a test chamber."

"Really?" Jillian said with a nod of her head. "Let me start off by saying, Stone, your sick for doing whatever it is that you would call 'that' act, it goes against all things natural. And secondly, Rai, is it? Why are you young if you were created back then?"

"Put simply?"

"It would help." joked Jillian.

"I was in a state of cryogenic sleep, up until recently."

"Oh I see. So how did you know where to find us exactly?"

"Intuition." replied Rai.

"Like father, like daughter. You Black Wolves are something else."

The two wolves in the front seat laughed as Jillian thought about what Rai meant by intuition. Among the questions multiplying in her mind a single one stood out, where were they headed?

"We're almost there." said Rai.

"Where?" asked the concerned wolf in the back.

"You'll see."
