For those of you who listen to this and my other recordings, know that so far we have not made the great leap to the planets beyond the solar system. Don't get me wrong, we have tried; tried and failed miserably over and over again. Is it our ships that are the problem? The crew? No and no; the problem lies with the fact that we have no fucking clue what is beyond the boundaries of our eight planets. We may get close, oh I will not discredit that, but every time we reach that point, our scientists have no more guidance.

So imagine this with me if you will: You along with about ten other people you have most likely met only a few times, a space shuttle and enough food, supplies and fuel to last you months. Now, everything seems normal in this little trip; the Light-Mass Accelerator brings you from Earth to Neptune in only months, the crew gets along quite well and you've even made some new friends. However, just as you pass the asteroid-like Pluto, you receive this message from Houston.

"Captain, do you read me? From here on out we have no way to track or advise you in your mission. Shou...you la...outsi...syste...send Re...rier back...us. Go...Uck peo..."

Stranded in the middle of Deep Space with no information or outside contacts, what is there left to do except move forward? Oh but wait, a little less than ten thousand miles ahead of your previous point, your crew discovers a string of black holes in front of you. And as you and your team debate whether or return home and warn them of the string or try and move around it, you realize your ship has already been caught in one of their gravitational pulls. Now all that's left is for you to watch and wait until the ship is condensed to the width of a pencil lead; however you are dead far before this happens on account of a fuel pump exploding under the pressure, eviscerating you all.

Take this situation and now apply this over a span of years and years and you will see why we have not reached the other side of Deep Space. Its times like these that just make you hate humanity, huh?

Dr. Ivanek was getting ballsy. During the week that had passed since the good Doctor remotely drugged him into a stupor, Derik had been submitted to test after test, each with one purpose: to fully utilize the SRS. Today, sadly, was no exception. Donned in nothing more than grey cotton shorts and a crimson shirt of the same fabric, the panther found himself in his very own experimentation cube at the entrance to what appeared to be an endless labyrinth. Shaking his head slowly in despair at this new obstacle, Derik could only wait anxiously until the speaker above him blared to life.

The rough Russian voice behind the speaker none other than Ivanek, it hissed "There are two buttonss within thiss maze, each on opposssing ssidess. To make the challenge interessting, both buttonss musst be presssed ssimultaneoussly. Good Luck, Mr. Sstone."

And just like that, the task had begun. His mind racing, Derik swiftly engaged the SRS, pulling the panther apart into two separate "people." The two Derik Stones jogging towards the first intersection of the maze, the original panther nodded to the right path and said "You take that way, I'll take the left."

Snorting, the noise that could be associated with an agreement, Derik's clone bolted off to the right instantly in the search for that hidden button. Derik, on the other hand, decided to think his way through this. At first he experimented with the tried and true method of marking the areas he had already covered. Every corner he had to turn at, he carved a line into the thin sheet metal wall of the maze closest to the direction he planned to go. Unfortunately, as he progressed deeper and deeper into the labyrinth, the panther soon learned that many of the winding passageways trailed all the way back to a path already ventured.

Combing a midnight hand through the fur on his head, Derik stopped at an intersection he'd already been to thrice before and said "Shit...how much time have I spent running around in circles?" Letting his hand drop to his side and his head lay back slightly, the panther discovered his key to victory. Staring back at him from the ceiling of the experimentation cube was his own image; the roof was reflective!

Smiling with a sense of pride, he began to use the ceiling as his "mirrored map" through the giant maze, allowing him to reach his destination on time. The button nothing more than a small blue semi-circle engraved into a stone pedestal, Derik Stone couldn't help but slam a hand enthusiastically over it. Luckily, just as the signal light for his button appeared above him, a similar light flashed over to his right; his clone had made it.

Grinning, the panther pointed to a camera stationed at one of the cube's corners and said to it "Hah! That was almost too easy, old man; I'm sure you and I can both agree I know what I'm doing here."

In an observation room not so far away from Derik's testing cube, the old Komodo Dragon scoffed at the small monitor in front of him and said "Little Punk, thinkss he iss ready for everything, doessn't he? Maybe we sshould have just given hiss asss a good kicking insstead of wassting our time with thesse tesstss."

"Oh now Leo, don't shed your scales just because Derik is passing all of your little tests. Admit it, he's far more than you're willing to give him credit for." Her voice a bit agitated, Trisha couldn't help but work up a storm whenever Dr. Ivanek would make potshots at Derik behind his back.

Slamming his scaled-humanoid hands down on the computer monitor in front of him, Ivanek turned to the panther, growled and replied "I could give a ratss' asss about Derik Sstone. It iss the clone I am more interessted in. Have you not noticed ssomething odd about that clone? Every time he producess a clone, *that* iss what comess out."

"What's the big problem here Ivanek, you created Derik with the ability to make clones of himself, and that is exactly what he is doing."

"True, but the SsRSs sshould not retain any information in regardss to the clone. Everything about it hass been ssaved and utilized into the SsRSs, which was never apart of my original dessign."

"I ask again, wherein lies the problem?"

"The problem iss: Why iss thiss happening? What will thiss lead to? Will the clone itsself develop an SsRSs, and therefore clone *itsself?*"

Now Trisha couldn't help but laugh and ask "The clone cloning itself...Doc I think you are reading way too much into this whole situation. So what if the clone is the same, at least it saves the hassle of trying to examine each clone's strengths and weaknesses."

"Hmm...true." Pressing on a little orange button on the monitor, Ivanek leaned over and spoke into a small microphone "Alright Mr. Sstone, head to the Examination Room for checkup."

****

Laughing happily like a child who just passed a stressful quiz, Derik couldn't help but walk with a slightly jump in his step as the thin metallic walls of the labyrinth collapsed around him. Parts of the floor sliding open, the thin sheets stacked upon one another and filled the gaps in single file lines. Watching the tiny spectacle with amusement as he headed for the only exit from the cube, the panther couldn't help but look back to his clone.

Behind him, the only thing remaining near the button Derik's clone had pressed was a giant charcoal black puddle. Tilting his head slightly as he examined the puddle, a familiar sense of disgust rose within him; not for his clone, but for Ivanek and his flawed design of the SRS. Who is to say Derik's clone isn't capable of feelings, intellect and more importantly, love. Now, even though those types of questions were old cliché plot lines for cloning books, Derik understood why they made those stories so compelling. Viewing the way everyone, including himself, treated these "false people" was enough to make the panther sick to his stomach now that he looked back upon it.

Yet, with nothing more that could be done, Derik let the primordial pile of goo slowly dissipate into nothingness and made his way to the Examination Room. Its total size no larger than one person dorm, the exam room reflected the appearance of every other standard hospital examination room. What those commonplace offices didn't have, however, was a scantily clad purple-haired mouse smiling at you with the soft, rosy lips of her muzzle. Ahh...if Derik weren't held here against his will, he would have begun to think he was being spoiled.

Squeaking happily as the panther closed the large wooden door behind him, the mouse eyed Derik up and down slowly before saying "You must be some kind of mind reader, Mr. Stone. How'd you know I was just thinkin' of a hot, exotic man to step in here all sweaty and bulging with muscles?"

Chuckling warmly, the panther could only reply "Lucky guess."

"So, what'll it be for you today? Standard procedure or perhaps you wanted a...full body exam?"

His manhood starting to go erect as she put emphasis on those last three words, Derik thought carefully for a moment before saying "Now that you mention it Chloe, I have been feeling a little off lately."

Eagerly taking the chance given to her to have her way with such a specimen as this young panther, Chloe rushed him over to the long, cushioned table in the room and swiftly began to pull off the panther's scarce wardrobe. Her fingers deft from practicing this art many times before, the purple mouse soon had Derik garbed in only his birthday suit, a wide smile growing on her muzzle.

Watching the nine inch phallus pulsate between those voluptuous black thighs, Chloe couldn't help but say "Its...beautiful."

Scratching his cheek with his index finger, Derik tried to blush through his rich midnight fur and replied "Uhh...thanks. I try to take good care of it."

Her left palm coupling the decently sized panther sack, the purple mouse swiftly went to work by giving the large dick a single coating with her tongue. Slow and tantalizing, each swivel of Chloe's tongue sent ecstatic shivers up and down Derik's body. Having been deprived of any sexual relations since he first arrived to the laboratory, the panther shamelessly found himself already excreting quick bursts of pre; which Chloe spotted like a hawk with her prey and devoured the potential children quickly.

Shortly after her brief tongue examination, the purple mouse decided she needed more information on the new specimen. The tiny nostrils of her muzzle inhaling deeply, Chloe positioned herself upright and shoved as much of the feline dick into her mouth as she could withstand. Both its size and width more than what she had expected, the purple mouse felt a tad bit ashamed that she could barely fit half of Derik into her mouth due to the limited depth of her small rodent mouth. Yet, she made due.

Her head jerking up and down on the throbbing meat like the sporadic bobber of a fishing line, Chloe couldn't help but giggle as the pillar shook the entirety of her muzzle with its every pulsation. Looking up at the panther every so often, she could tell she was doing just a grand job. His ears flattened against his head, his eyes were shut completely, but best of all, his fingers twitched and clamped shut as waves of pleasure flooded his brain.

Sadly, in less than a minute, Derik thrust his hip upwards, sending more of his phallus into Chloe's muzzle, as he climaxed. Whether by luck or just plain experience, the mouse's throat opened just as he released, sending streams of burning white down her throat. Pulling a small urination cup off of the very nearby counter, she quickly yet effectively removed Derik from her muzzle and let the panther finish cumming into the small container.

His stream of white finally coming to an end, Derik fell back against the examination table, sighed happily and asked "Get enough?"

Licking off strands of semen that had found refuge in her cheek fur, the purple-haired mouse securely placed the lid on the cup and answered "Definitely. Now, you wait right here while I go bring this to one of the doctors. After that, well there's certainly more...tests I can run to make sure you're in peak condition."

And with that, Chloe left the stark naked panther alone in Examination Room One to mull over his current thoughts.

Later that evening, Derik Stone found himself lying comfortably in the room that had proven itself his home for the past week. Although his body rested well enough, his mind was brewing a uncontrollable and merciless torrent of chaos and mayhem. Part of him constantly argued that he needed to escape from this place, to be free once again and warn the authorities of what was being done here. Another part questioned logically that not only would it be nearly impossible to leave, with constant surveillance and security measures, how could he be so sure the ones running this place didn't already have ties into the police?

Sick of the uselessness of it all, the panther couldn't help but say to himself "This is all a bunch of horseshit!"

From behind the wall to his right, Derik heard a scruffy, yet oddly sedative voice reply "Yeah, and what's your point?"

Startled, although all together relieved by the sense of conversation, the panther answered "My point is we need to find a way out of this place once and for all. We can't sit here caged like...like petting zoo mongrels!"

"Hah, boy you ain't been in here long, have yah? Look, ain't no one ever leave The Eden, and ain't no one ever gonna. It just don't happen, you hear me? All my friends have tried leavin', and ain't none of them ever make it back. If you can do it, hell son I got your back."

"The name's Derik, what about you?"

"Banks. Pierce Banks. Lived in Boston all my life before these bastards decided I was good enuff for experimentation. They promised to get my family out o' the streets if I agreed, and so far I ain't heard a word from them since. Boy, what I'd give to go back to Boston..."

"Pierce, we can get out of here; I know we can, but we're going to need more people."

"And how exactly we gonna do that, Mr. Stone? Just waltz around sayin' "Hey fellas, let's get the fuck outta here!"? It just don't happen. Look, I've seen your type. You dreamers. You think you got this whole place figured like it's the back of your hand. Well guess again, son. You don't know half the shit lying around here."

Doing all he could to keep his voice and tone calm, Derik replied "True, but that's why we have to work together. I'm sure we can pool our knowledge of this place together in such a way that we can come up with a decent plan."

"Ehh, I don't know Derik Stone, seems like another one of those "Dreamer" plans, and I ain't got no reason to be apart of one of those."

"But is not the purpose of a dream to one day fulfill it?"

With what sounded like a sigh of defeat, Pierce finally said "Alright, alright. You got me, Stone. But don't make me regret this. Tomorrow we'll meet in the feeding lounge, and I ain't gonna wait for your sorry ass! So be there or else."

Their conversation now over, and Derik's dreams of escape that much closer to being realized, the panther began to rest quite peacefully, letting his mind wander back to his old, simpler life. Now thinking back, Derik never realized just how wonderful it was to be ignorant of the truth. Before he had become "Project Mitosis," he was but Derik Stone, a smart, muscular teenager who was just about to graduate from high school and reach for his bigger dreams. He had been sleeping with not only the sexy Mrs. Stein, but he could choose any single woman in that high school and have her tits around his dick faster than a pizza guy running away from a Weightwatcher's convention.

His life had been perfect. Yet, perhaps this whole ordeal was a way to humble him into the stark truth about life; you can only get what you want for so long until someone (or something) comes to collect the debt. And for Derik Stone, he most certainly had amassed a huge debt. The only question that begged to be answered was when did this debt end? When could Derik begin his old life again?

Sighing uselessly into the small six inch by four inch pillow on his thin rectangular bed, he realized for the first time in his life that he had been spoiled. When the poor dream of being rich, they promise to never be snobbish towards others or they will respect the money they have; but in the end they are all just empty words. When the poor get rich, they feel they are on top of the world, the king or queen of all they sought; that nothing on Earth could ever take this away from them. Derik had been "rich" his whole life, and not once had he taken into consideration that his luxuries could be taken away from him. Isn't it funny how life can give such a rude wake-up call?

Figuring his one way philosophical discussion would go nowhere, the panther simply moved his head in a position where he could breathe normally, pulled the thin bed covers over him and let his mind whisk him away into mental abyss. If there was one thing that could never be taken away from Derik Stone, it was that; the ability to dream. Ah...to dream.
