Janik had lost the baby. One day she had been standing on a mountain, Cadence at her side, thoughts of the young one running all over the place, causing mischief, and now she knew that wouldn't happen. In the short time that she had been carrying the little spawn, she had grown to love it quite a bit, and now she would never get to meet little Spawn. A hand went over her stomach even though she knew that it would be just as smooth as it had been before she had gotten pregnant, and tears pooled at the edges of her eyes again. Cadence didn't even know yet, and Janik knew that she would have to tell him eventually. Cadence spent every night with him now, it wasn't like he wouldn't figure out what would happened when he tried to give Spawn a rub like he usually did.

As these thoughts ran through Janik's mind, she heard Cadence sloshing around at the entrance to the cave, and she got up and ran to him, throwing her arms around him when she got there and buried her head into his neck, trying as hard as he could not to let the tears fall from his eyes. "I lost the baby," she whispered, her fingers digging into the front of Cadence's jacket as tears drenched the fabric

The sound of a pen dropping could have been heard if there had been one; it took Cadence a moment to figure out exactly what Janik was saying. When the words sank in, and the connection was made, Cadence's arms wrapped around Janik.

"How?" he finally croaked out, not sure how long it had been since either of them had spoken.

"I don't know, everything was fine, and then it wasn't. Why did it have to be them?" she whimpered. She had already lost her voice, crying had rubbed her voice raw.

"Them?" Cadence's voice threatened to break as blinked slowly. He didn't know what to say, he didn't even know what to feel. There was a lump in his throat as he ran a hand through Janik's hair, his head tilted up toward the ceiling as a few wet drops of water dropped from his eyes.

"Boy and girl. I didn't even get to name them. I-I buried them." Her eyes were still clouded with tears as she pulled back to look at Cadence. Her heart broke even further as she saw the tears that clung to his eyelashes and the tracks that ran down both of his cheeks. She took Cadence's face in her hands as she gently wiped away the wet tracks before pulling him slowly into a kiss. It was salty and bittersweet to kiss him this way, assured that it was okay to cry about people that he would never get to meet.

Janik eyes snapped open as he sat up, not understanding what was going as she looked around. She was still in her bed. Just a second ago she had been in Cadence's arms--where was Cadence?! For a moment she began to panic, until a shadow fell over her, and it took her eyes a moment to adjust to the lack of lighting

"Janik, Janik. Are you alright?"

It was Cadence above her, and she cried out, pulling him down to herself, crying all over again, holding him tightly. "What's up?" Cadence asked, worry penetrating his sleepy voice as he rubbed Janik's back.

"Don't you remember? I had a miscarriage." Janik wasn't sure how they had ended up in bed, but he knew what he remembered.

"What? But you aren't pregnant," Cadence muttered. "Bunny you were having a bad dream." He was starting to wake up now, and the way Janik was acting was really worrying him.

"It was a dream? B-but.. I remember everything so clearly," she said. "Tell me, I'm listening." "I remember sleeping with Ray.." "Ew." "I know, I was drunk. And I got pregnant... then I met you in a theme park," Janik continued. There were still tears in his eyes.

"Yeah, you almost got me killed, THAT actually happened," Cadence said.

"And I was pregnant.... Then I remember losing the babies." A shuddering sob was cut off by Cadence's lips against her own.

"Shhh Bunny, it's okay," Cadence said, only breaking the kiss just long enough to mutter the words before capturing Janik's lips again.

Janik's hands bunched up the fabric of the back of Cadence's shirt as she held him close. She looked up into his eyes when their lips finally separated. "I cheated on you in my dreams, does that count?" she asked, widening her hips enough for Cadence to fit comfortably between them, looking completely serious.

"Yes, now you have to make it up to me." A perverted grin spread across Cadence's face as he looked down at the now pacified Janik. It had taken a surprisingly short amount of time for him to make Janik understand that what had happened in her dreams wasn't reality, and that she was actually here right now.

"Make it up to you? How?"

The innocence with this one was strong, Cadence was all too aware of that fact as he shook his head before pinning her down against the bed, his grin impossibly wider than before. "I was thinking, like this," Cadence said.

"Oh?" Janik began, still a little too unaware, but then she figured out what Cadence was getting and and blushed as she was pinned down. "Oh. OH." A bit of wiggling got her arms free of his grip before she pulled him down and gripped his face between two hands that might have been quivering a bit, but she would later deny that. "I love you," she whispered into his ear.

Cadence pulled Janik into a bone crushing hug, kissing her lips with clumsy enthusiasm. "I love you too," he said. "Say it again... please?"

"I love you?" Janik looked confused and mildly worried, but went along with it anyway.

"You are so bad at this still," Cadence muttered with a snicker as one of hands sneaked its way underneath her shirt. At the sight of Janik's now familiar blush and that glint in her eyes that said she was about to disagree with him, he ducked down and kissed her again. "No, it's cute, I like it," he said, though while he was talking he was also undoing the first few buttons of her shirt. At least she wasn't wearing a bra, even if he would rather her just sleep completely naked.

"I am on to you mister," Janik said, before pushing Cadence back, and held him down as she straddled his waist. "I noticed, you are definitely on me now," Cadence said, worming his hands free of her grip before grabbing at the buttons on her shirt so that he could finish what he had started before. A few buttons flew off as he pulled on the fabric.

"My shirt!" Janik whined as she watched one of the buttons roll away.

Undeterred, Cadence sat up, scooting Janik down to his lap as he did so, and grinned. "Don't worry, you don't need a shirt, you look better like this," he said, kissing her neck as he finished removing the mangled garment.

The moment the shirt had slid from his shoulders, Janik's hands had begun roaming for something to cover himself with, and while one of them had closed over the sheet, Cadence's own hands had closed over hers, rubbing against her wrists until she begrudgingly released it in favor of hiding her purple face in his shoulder.

"Why you so scared if you love me?" Cadence asked suddenly, pushing Janik back far enough so that he could see her face.

It took a long while for Janik's eyes to lock with Cadence's, especially because she was looking everywhere but at him, but when their eyes finally met, Janik blushed and kissed Cadence with trembling lips. "I'm scared because I love you," she explained quietly.

"Stop it," Cadence said as he kissed her again. "Don't be afraid." However important this conversation was, he couldn't keep his mind completely on it, especially with Janik half naked on top of him; he needed to fix that, half wasn't enough.

"I'm not scared of you, or um... this" another blush "I'm scared of stuff that isn't happening."

Cadence never wore anything to bed, and didn't feel the least bit awkward about it; he couldn't understand why Janik would want to wear clothes, especially when he was around. "Well stop worrying then, I won't hurt you," he said as he kiss her and at the same time laid her back against the bed.

Janik knew that Cadence was ready, just judging by the arousal that had been poking her thigh every now and again for the past few minutes, and as she was laid back against the bed, she undid the button to her pants and slid them off, glad not to have gotten stuck in the awkward twist her pants sometimes did when she was taking them off. The boxers she had been wearing went along with the pants, and Janik turned bright purple as she lay beneath Cadence, feeling exposed beneath him.

Her breath hitched as she felt a finger inside of her. Even though this wasn't the first time, it still managed to feel like it, as she stayed tensed up until Cadence gave her a look that clearly said to stop it, and she tried to give him the 'I can't help it' look, but that only got her a bite to the neck. Her breath came out in a sharp keening noise before she finally calmed down a little bit. She expected the finger to move again, but when it didn't, she blushed. "You're going to make me ask, aren't you?" she whimpered, and when that cheesy grin spread on Cadence's lips, she wanted to hit him. "Please."

"Please what?" That same grin was still playing on his face.

"More, move, I don't care, just something," Janik said, blushing as she shut her eyes tightly, scared to even look at Cadence; she didn't want Cadence to see her this way.

"I told you not to be scared," Cadence said, his finger moving steadily in and out of her, before leaning down to look at her. "Look at me." When she only shut her eyes tighter, he pushed in the second finger. "Look at me," he said more forcefully as his fingers dug up and into the spot that he knew brought her to her knees, and was pleased as her eyes shot open.

"Wha-aaaat?" Janik asked, a breathy scream coming out as he did it again.

"Don't. Be. Afraid," he almost hissed as he circled his fingers around 'that spot', trying hard to make her understand what he was trying to tell her.

"Cadence. Please," Janik whispered, reaching for his hand, trying to make him stop before he made her go even more wild, but all Cadence did was spread his fingers inside of her and she screeched, body jerking against him.

As Cadence pulled his fingers back, he made sure Janik was watching before slowly licking one, hoping to get a reaction out of Janik, and grinned as he got what he wished for.

"You're sick! Stop that, it's gross!" she said, pushing at his chest, blushing furiously as she avoided looking at him, trying not to feel ashamed, since she had already told him that she loved him and all. She blushed as he twisted her face back to look at him.

"I love you," he said, pressing his tip against her, pausing until she looked directly at him again, before sliding into her. It took a little while for Janik to adjust to the size difference between Cadence's fingers and his arousal, but soon she was just as purple-faced and aroused as she had been before, although noticeably less nervous. "No more," she muttered she muttered before catching the confused glance from Cadence. "No more teasing," she added, wrapping he legs around his thighs and drawing him as close as she possibly could.

"Wasn't planning to," Cadence said, his hands rubbing circles on her back, taking it as slowly as he possibly could before running his hands around to her breasts and pinched one of them, causing her to jerk against him, and he almost went cross-eyed from the motion. "Hold onto something," he said with a smirk as he pulled back and thrust in.

Janik's hands did scramble momentarily, before one of her arms found its way around Cadence's neck, the other gripping at, and slightly ripping the pillow underneath her. The room was quickly filled with the noises that both Cadence and Janik were making.

"Tell me again," Cadence said, pulling Janik face close to his own; he knew that he was getting close, and he would be damned if he didn't hear his new favorite three words.

"Tell you what?" Janik whispered, her thighs trembling slightly once again.

"Tell me you love me."

"I love you." Janik shuddered as he hit that spot again.

"Say it again, I'm gonna-" "I love you. I love you, I love you. Iloveyou. I love yo-" She could feel Cadence's entire body tense up against hers, and that pushed her against, and over the edge as she released the pillow and wrapped both arms around his neck as she lost all sense of herself.

After both of them had had a few minutes to get at least a bit calmed down, Cadence pulled himself out, and for Janik's comfort, as she was still uncomfortable with her body, and pulled a sheet over the top of both of them.

"I didn't catch what you were saying," Cadence teased Janik as he wrapped his arms around her waist as he laid on his back..

Rather than shy away from the touch like she usually did, Janik turned over and looked at Cadence. "I love you," she mumbled, kissing him lazily. "Now go to sleep," she added, closing her eyes as she rested her head against his chest.

"Night," Cadence said, but he waited for Janik's breath to even out again before running his hand through her hair. "No more bad dreams Bunny," he mumbled, eyes no longer to stay open.
