To Be a Brother
Everyone needs a friend, someone to adore,
But to have a brother means just a bit more.
In times of heartache, sadness, or of gloom,
A brother will be there to help see you through.
Even if he may be near or far,
Just to know he's there no matter where you are.
Giving words of encouragement and of cheerfulness,
Words of love to help you through your sadness.
Despite how lowly and alone,
One may feel down to the bone.
With a brother at your back,
Loneliness cannot attack.
For in those times of your need,
Your brother will be there for you to lean.
A shoulder to cling to and to cry,
Always being there by your side.
He'll be there with you till the end,
A brother is more than just a friend.
It is for you I this poem's wrote,
Being there kept me afloat.
I love you more than words could tell,
If I tried I know I'd fail.
