#4 of The Newlyweds Next-Door

The the most difficult and challenging setting in a videogame is usually know as 'Very Difficult' 'Extreme' or 'Hardcore' outside of the gaming world we choose to call this setting 'Marriage'

Noah, a videogame hobbyist and aspiring musician meets David, the perfect, handsome and hardworking editor. The relationship takes off like a mmo character with max agi and level 10 haste cast on them, and the two find themselves married and moving in together.

Unfortunately Noah's perfect husband does not come to him easily, our hero having to battle the evils of the ex-wife and David's sexy childhood best friend, and if that wasn't enough, there was perhaps an error in communication about the fact that David has kids...

The Newlyweds Next-door

Chapter 04

Growling fills the air as Mr. Princess tugs on the arm of Noah's pajama shirt, a rip filling the air as he takes off an arm flying back off of the bed and waking Noah up, Noah looks from his arm down to the dog on the floor as he mauls the shirt arm from side to side. "Oh Mr. Princess you're so cute!!"

He gets out of bed grabbing onto the shirt arm that the dog holds taking it with him, Mr. Princess snarls as he hangs on being dragged along behind.

Yesterday had gone badly for me and David, more so for David though than me with Nancy not letting his kids come over because of the broken leg that I gave him. Today though I was determined to set things right before I let David get any worse. As I told you before, David had a knack for doing completely random things to try and get rid of stress, and I didn't want him to do something absolutely crazy to try counter it. Like skydiving or worse yet ending our relationship and getting back together with his harpy wife.

_ _

_ I had to act right and I had to act fast, my marriage was on the line! First things first for my plan in de-stressing my husband, and that would be by starting the day out right with me making and serving David a good old comfort breakfast._

Noah closes the refrigerator door with a frustrated look on his face. "Damn it that's right... there's no cheese..."

He runs to the front entrance and starts going through the pockets of all the jackets hanging in the closest until he finds David's wallet. Taking a twenty from it and then quickly running out of the front door of the house.

A while later Noah has returned home and is sitting next to the living room sofa trying to poke David awake. "Wake up honey... honey..."

Noah gets no response from David, Noah sighs as he gets up running over to different boxes in the house and reading the labels on them until he finds the boxes marked 'bedroom' he opens and digs through them one by one.

If there was one thing I knew about David it was that he was a heavy sleeper, and almost nothing would wake him up. In fact the only thing that seemed to snap him out of his heavy sleep without hurting him was his alarm clock... and possibly a bucket of cold water, but the water thing would probably not be a good idea since I was trying to get on his good side.

Noah finds David's alarm clock, running back to the sofa and plugging it into an outlet near it, he then sets the time and the alarm to ring one minute later. He sets it by David's head and waits for it to ring, the alarm goes off, and David wakes with a start up not long after hearing it.

Noah smiles at David pleasantly, hoping to start out David's day right so that he wouldn't remain in the grumpy mood he had been in that night. "Morning David!"

David looks away from Noah and back at his alarm clock a little confused, Noah brings his attention back to him. "I made breakfast for you."

David looks toward the plate with a grilled cheese sandwich that Noah is holding out to him, David sighes when he sees it. "I'm going to be living off these things until my leg heals aren't I?"

Noah looks to the side, that is a likely possibility. "Maybe... I mean... it's really the only thing I know how to make right now..." Noah begins to panics, news like that not capable of keeping David from being grumpy at all. "And by right now I mean right now at this moment in time and not forever! Because I'm sure that I'll be able to learn how to make other things!! So it's not like this is the only thing I'll ever make for the whole time we're married or anything like that!"

David takes the plate from Noah, Noah quickly looks around him and grabs a cup of coffee and an orange from atop one of the moving boxes. "I brought you a coffee too! AND an orange!"

David looks over to the offerings that Noah is presenting him, Noah nervously grins at him, David is probably wondering where he had gotten them from. "And I hate to bring this up right now, and I hope you don't mind... but I kinda took some of your money out of your wallet... we were out of cheese so I had to run to the convenience store to get some more."

David holds the plate with the grilled cheese sandwich out to Noah. "You ran to the convenience store just to pick up cheese so you could make this for me?"

Noah nods his head yes. "Well I made one for me too... also the coffee might be a cold... I bought it at the convenience store too, because well... your coffeemaker hasn't been unpacked yet. The orange was in the fridge already though so no worries about that!"

David stares at Noah. "You've really gone out of your way haven't you?"

Noah waves his hand as if it is nothing at all. "It's no big deal really, anything to get you back on your feet... or well... metaphorically speaking I guess..."

David starts to eat the breakfast that Noah had brought for him, Noah smiles to himself, things are looking to be working out for him so far, it is now time for phase two of his plan. "You know David... I was thinking some things over... and I thought that maybe we can use your time off work and your kids not coming over this weekend to our advantage."

David stops eating as he looks back to Noah. "I'm not having sex with you the whole time, there's no way I would have the energy to keep going from now until my leg heals." He points to his work briefcase that is open on the table, it's filled with work. "Besides, I had some arrangements made so that I would be able to temporarily do my work from home, so I really don't have as much free time as you may think."

Noah lets out a laugh at David's response. "Come on what do you take me for? That's not what I had in mind!" He grins looking to the side. "Well... okay... that was still kind of on my mind since you're going to be home all day with just us two anyway- but that's not what I was going to say!"

Noah gets back to what he had originally been trying to say. "Timothy and Alex both have big empty rooms. I mean, even if we do get all of my and your stuff unpacked they're both still going to have nothing in either of their rooms." He holds his head up, that of course meaning this. "I think we need to get everything ready before they come here, you know get their rooms ready for the kids, with new furniture and shelves and whatever they need to have in there!"

A smile crosses David's face after hearing Noah say all of this. "Really? You, the one who hates children, wants to do that?"

Noah nods his head, his mind has been made and he is set to do this. "Yes! David despite what I said before I want them to come here, I mean it's going to be really scary for me, but just because I'm not ready doesn't mean that I think you shouldn't have to see them."

Noah holds his hands out to the house that is still filled with moving boxes. "When they get here I want everything to look so awesome and so great that they will constantly be nagging their evil final boss mom to move in with you, even more then they do now! And hopefully she'll get so fed up with them she'll actually give in and ship them both over here."

David watches Noah, wondering if he really understands what he would be getting himself into. "It's going to be a lot of work, and you're going to be doing most of it. Are you sure you're up to something like this? I mean you haven't even met them yet."

Noah nods his head, this HAS to happen. "David I'm positive! Sure, maybe I'm not ready to deal with kids, but you sure as hell are! So as long as one of us is ready we'll be fine, I'll have you to help me ease into the whole kid thing right?"

David nods his head, this plan of Noah's actually is one that he likes. "Ok. You know what, this is a good idea. Let's do this."

Noah claps his hands, happy that his presentation of the idea had been successful. "Yes! Alright then what do we do first?"

David thinks over everything that needs to be done to pinpoint where to start. "First we need to take measurements of the room, than make a list of what we need. That way we'll be sure that what we buy fits in that room, and that we don't forget anything when we go out."

Noah nods his head. "You know that's a good idea. See my family usual buys it... and if it doesn't fit we make it fit. Your plan would save a lot of time!"

David frowns as he stares at Noah, that is almost horrifying to hear for someone as obsessed with organizing and making sure that everything is done in order like he is.

Noah gets to his feet ready to begin. "Measuring tape is in the box marked garage right? Yeah I remember putting it in there because it was the smallest box of yours to pack. I guess that'll mean that it'll be easy for me to find! You should really buy some power tools and sports equipment you'll only use once if at all now that we have the room for it."

Noah runs off in the direction of the garage, David calls out to him before he's gone. "Be careful in there."

I know, I know... I really didn't want the kids there, but David wanted them really badly and the biggest reason he was so upset was because they wouldn't be able to come. I figured I should be able to put up with one of the things I hate for David... and if not... I could always just shoot myself in the head.

David with the aid of some crutches, is taking measurements of one of the rooms he is in, Noah on the other side of the wall, is holding the measuring tape up while David writes down all the numbers and notes he needs.

David hums to himself as he reads over the numbers he has written down. "Looks like this room is bigger than the other, looks like this is going to be Tim's room."

Noah forces an excited laugh, still not ready for this. "Yay! Kids! I can't wait!"

David looks back over to Noah, although Noah is accepting the idea it is still obvious that the whole situation actually terrifies him. "I know you're faking it."

Noah quickly shakes his head no as he tries to deny that. "No! I'm excited! Really!! We'll even get them Superman bed sheets."

David shakes his head no, that is not going to work. "No superman... Timothy hates Superman, and Alex prefers Batman."

Noah laughs at the comment. "Really!? All right that's even better! I hate Superman too! No Superman in my house!! Batman is where it's at! Me and Alex are getting along already! What about Timothy, which superhero does he like?"

David smiles back at him, knowing the answer to that question for certain. "Sonic."

Noah frowns as he thinks over what David has said. "What?? Sonic? As in the annoying blue hedgehog in those videogames?"

David nods his head, that's the one. "Yes, and don't insult Sonic, Timothy gets mad when you do."

Noah argues back with him. "But he hasn't come out with a good game since-"

David looks back to him, there's really no point in debating it with him. "Noah."

Noah looks away with a frown. "Ok, fine, Sonic the Hedgehog it is..."

So it didn't take David long to make plans and blue prints for the boys' rooms, he even had furniture catalogues from various stores and we ordered everything we needed by phone. As I said before he is a meticulous planner... to the point where it can sometimes be a little bit scary...

_ _

Still, there were still some small things that we needed, so we took a taxi to the mall to get them, as well as a new phone and a bus pass for me.

David and Noah are at a cell phone shop, Noah looks through all the different models of phones that are there while David waits patiently for him to pick one.

Noah excitedly looks back at him. "David we should both get new phones, you could really use a new one you know! Oh! We should get matching phones too!"

David shakes his head no, there is no reason for him to get a new one when the one he has is still good. "Why would I waste money on a phone when the one I have still works just fine?"

Noah frowns, the phone that David is talking about is not even worth still calling a phone. "David... your phone sucks... it doesn't have a camera and I'm surprised that it has text, heck it doesn't even have a screen, just a call display, which has a crack running through it might I add! Last but not least, it's held together by duct tape."

David holds his phone up, it is indeed exactly as Noah had described it, that does not make it bad though. "That's only because the back keeps falling off and the battery falls out."

"Let it die! Come on, get a new phone."

David sighs as he looks back at his phone, perhaps it really was time for him to get another. "Ok, fine, I'll get a new phone with you. But NOT matching... knowing you you'll keep getting them mixed up and end up leaving with mine, and the last thing we need is for Nancy to phone and you to pick up."

Noah snarls at the thought. "I would so tell her where to go..."

David nods his head. "And then she would say something that would make you cry."

Noah snaps back at him. "Hey! You make it sound like I would lose in a fight against her."

David again nods his head. "You would... I don't even have to think hard about that."

Noah beings to pout. "You can't even lie to me to make me feel loved here?"

David looks back to him, it is very hard for him to lie about that. "Noah she has a black belt, and has received the title of 'best in class' for every single self defence coarse she has taken."

Noah frowns, that indeed sounds like something he would without a doubt lose to, but that doesn't mean that David can'tat least pretend like he has a chance. He turns to the saleswoman holding up one of the display phones and two fingers to her. "We'll take two of this model."

David lets out a tired sigh. "I just told you not matching."

Noah turns back to David with a smile. "They're not going to completely match!! They'll be different colours! Plus mine will have the 'mini mushroom' cell phone charm on it and yours well have the "1-up mushroom' on it."

David is confused. "The what...?"

Noah frowns, not sure how this is something he has to explain to him. "The mini mushroom!! You know!! It shrinks you when you eat it and you can fit in smaller spaces!"

David's confusion has not lessened. "... what?"

Noah continues trying to explain. "You know! The blue mushroom with eyes from Mario!! Remember, I bought them at the store before we came here, I gave you the matching 1-up mushroom.

David stares at Noah with a blank expression, Noah continues to try and clarify. "The green one."

David quickly responds, now recalling this thing that Noah is talking about. "OH! That thing."

Noah looks at him a little worried on how David could have forgotten. "You do still have it... right?

David nods his head. "Oh.. yeah, yeah of course I do!" He quickly searches his pockets, finding and taking the cell phone charm Noah had been talking about out. "See?"

Noah is pleased. "Great!!"

David sighs as he looks at the charm, it is rather silly looking to him.

After we picked out awesomely cool cell phones and I attached our overly impressive cell phone charms on them we went to go pick up a new bus pass for me.

David is paying for Noah's bus pass while Noah texts his friends on his new phone. Noah glances over at David once he has finished paying. "My phone, is so much better than your phone."

David frowns not really sure how that is possible. "They're the exact same phone.

Noah points to his phone. "My phone is blue!! That's what makes it better! And the blue mushroom just adds to the greatness of it."

David sighs not sure how he could have missed out on that reasoning. "Of course... and about those... do you think those mushroom things might be easy to lose?"

Noah shakes his head no. "Don't worry about it! I attached them really good! Why you asking?"

David is staring at the mushroom attached to his phone with a disappointed look, he hopes it would have easily been lost. "... no reason..." He shakes his head putting his phone back into his pocket and hands Noah his new bus pass. "So why do you still take the bus anyway? Most people your age are driving a car by now."

Noah takes the pass from him, placing it securely in his wallet. "Hey! It's not like I haven't tried all right! I just keep failing the test..."

David frowns at the information. "How many times have you failed the test?"

Noah shrugs his shoulder. "Like I would still be keeping count! I've been failing it for years now!"

David stares at him, sure failing once or twice is reasonable but to lose count is ridiculous . "You've read the book that teaches you all the road rules... right...?"

Noah nods his head, having done everything possible. "Of course! You just don't understand! I freeze up when it comes to tests. The pressure makes my mind just... stop working! Everything becomes a guessing game!"

David nods his head, definitely able to picture Noah doing that. "Interesting."

Noah frowns in annoyance. "No. Frustrating! Any idea what that was like in school? It was terrible that's what it was!"

David tries not to laugh at the comment, not wanting to sound rude. "Well, we got what we needed here, so I'll call a cab to take us back home."

Noah nods his head, but then shakes it no. "No wait! There's still one more place I need to go before we go back home. I need to go to the book store!"

David seems confused, books are not often part of the types of things that Noah would collect. "What for?"

Noah and David are once again back at home, David is back on the sofa doing some paper work for his job while Noah is in the kitchen, several brand new cooking books laying on the countertop.

David takes a moment from his work to call out to Noah. "Are those new books helping any?"

Noah looks from the picture in the book to his finished product, it looks nothing like it should. Noah frowns as he pokes it with a spoon, not sure if it is dangerous or not. "Not going to happen overnight baby."

"It's fine, you're trying and that's a start."

Noah sighs to himself. "Apparently cooking is like taking a test to me... I freeze up and turn it into a guessing game..."

Noah puts the book he has gotten the recipe from down and picks up the food, bringing it to the living room from and over to David, setting it down on the table in front of him. "If you start choking then stop eating it!"

David laughs at the comment. "Noah your cooking isn't going to kill me."

" Say that after you eat it and live to tell about it!"

Noah looks over to Goliath who has come over to beg for food. "Oh don't you worry, if David shows signs of dying this food is going straight to you."

David rubs Goliath's shaggy head. "Noah please stop threatening to kill my dog."

Noah points to the dog accusingly. "He ate my Sunday shoes!! What am I supposed to wear to church now!?"

David looks back to Noah, that comment reminding him of something. "You know, we never did finish that conversation about you being a Christian, you said we would talk about it when you got home, but then you never ended up doing that."

Noah frowns as he takes his seat on the sofa next to David. "I'm not going to convert you if you're worried about that."

David shakes his head, that is not really the issue. "No, I'm just curious. I mean... there's no way that you can believe everything your religion has to say. Look at how you live your life."

Noah begins trying to explain, there is not just one way to be a Christian. "It's complicated... for me, religion isn't the beginning and the end. It's just something that helps you get through life, not control it."

David seems confused. "So you're only a Christian when it's convenient for you."

Noah looks to the side. "you know, I get accused of that a lot... and it's not true. You have to keep in mind that a lot of the rules and policies concerning Christianity are all made by the church, and the church is run by people. It's the same with the bible, all of the stories in that book were put in there by people, not God himself. So a lot of the rules that are in place could very well not be God's will at all, and just be the ideals of someone else."

David continues to question him. "What makes you think that all of these people could be wrong?"

Noah smiles back at David, the answer to that being easy. "Because it doesn't feel like God hates me as much as everyone tries to convince me he does, in fact it doesn't even feel like he's disappointed in me. I feel the same amount of love from him as I did when I was a kid."

David leans his head in his hand. "You do know that God doesn't actually exist."

Noah frowns at him. "Hey! I'm not converting you! So try to be nice and show me the same consideration alright."

David sighs, willing to let Noah off on this one. "Fine."

Noah thinks back. "Besides... that church really helped me out at some of the worst points in my life. I have a lot of friends there including Martin, and even with all the horror stories of religion and homosexuals I have to say, when they found out they didn't throw me out or turn their backs on me. They accepted it and we continue on like it's nothing at all." He shrugs his shoulders. "Sure there are some old people there that give me weird looks or keep telling me that I'm in their prayers... but overall it's just fine."

David points something out. "How are you so sure they really accept who you are? That they're not just putting on a façade every time you go to church?"

I have to admit... he had gotten me there. There was no way for me to really tell if it was a façade or not, all I had to go on was that I trusted and loved my friends, and they loved and trusted me just the same.

The doorbell rings, Noah gets to his feet as David wouldn't be able to so easily answer the door right now. "I'll get it."

David watches Noah leave the room, taking a spoonful of the food Noah had cooked to begin eating, a disgusted look fills his face once he tastes it.

Noah answers the door, Martin and several people from his youth group are there, Martin laughs in a friendly manner when he sees Noah. "Trying to move all your things to this house via the bus are you?"

Noah is shocked that this information has gotten out. "What!? How did you find out!?"

One of the boys holds his hand up. "I saw you on the bus for one of your runs."

Another boy laughs loudly as he chimes in after the first. "Haha, you said runs."

Martin gives a very tired sigh as he looks back from Noah to the youth that had just spoken up. "Richard we talked about being mature in public."

"Sorry."

Martin looks back to Noah. "Anyway, we thought we would help you out. For you to do things the way you are would take centuries. You'd be so busy getting everything over here, that you wouldn't have the time to unpack." He motions back to the others behind him. "So a bunch of us got in our cars, trucks, vans and whatnot, drove to your house, picked up all your things... oh yeah, and we put all your stuff in boxes, because even though you're moving you neglected to do that."

Noah frowns, there is a reason for that. "I only had one box."

Martin stares at him, not sure how someone who knows they would be moving would only have one box to do it all with. "... Anyway, all your stuff is here now and ready to go into your house. So if you would just step out of the door way we will be able to do that."

Noah is embarrassed to have everyone go through the trouble. "You guys... you really didn't have to do this."

Martin smiles at him. "Sure we did. This is what friends do for each other."

Noah steps to the side and they all begin to move stuff in, Martin calling out a greeting to David when he sees him. "Hey David! Wow what happened to you?" He lets out a shocked gasp when he trips over Noah's pile of stuff and falls to the ground.

David looks down at Martin's fallen figure. "That's what happened... except my leg broke when I hit the ground."

Martin pushes himself back up. "Noah I know you're freaking out about the whole marriage thing, but killing your husband isn't the answer."

Noah tries to defend himself, having not done it on purpose at all. "It was an accident!"

Richard looks over to David while carrying one of the boxes in the house. "So that's the husband? Wow if I was gay I would totally hit that. I'm not gay though, so I wouldn't, but if I was then yeah!"

David frowns at the comment while Martin looks back to him slightly horrified by the comment. "Maturity Richard! Remember maturity??"

Noah sighs as he looks over to his friend. "Richard don't be creepy... I'm begging you."

Another of the boys calls out to Noah while carrying one of his boxes in. "Do you guys have the TV hooked up yet? I don't want to miss So You Think You Can Dance."

Noah looks over to him. "No... and even if it was hooked up we don't have cable."

"Damn it!!"

A pretty girl with light blond hair walks past the boy that had spoken up with an annoyed look on her face. "I can't believe you watch that show... really..."

"It's a good show alright!"

She puts down the box she had carried into the house with her, looking over to Noah and calling out to get his attention. "Hey Noah! Hurry up and get your internet working on your game systems, there's some co-op trophies I need you to help me get."

Noah laughs as he looks over to her. "Going to be a little while Cassie, the cable guy isn't scheduled to come until next week."

The blond girl stares at Noah, that does not sound very convenient for him. "How the heck are you going to survive a week without internet!?"

Noah shrugs his shoulders. "I'm sure I'll manage, it'll only be a week. Oh!!!"

He runs over to her, grabbing onto her hand and bringing her over to David, introducing her to him. "David this is Cassandra! One of the members of the band I'm in! She plays the drums."

David holds his hand out for her to shake. "Oh, it's nice to finally meet you. Noah is always going on about you guys, but I've never had the chance to be introduced to any of you yet."

Cassandra smiles as she takes David's hand and begins shaking it. "Yeah Noah's pretty shy when it comes to introducing us to you!"

One of the guys calls out to David with a warning. "Careful David, Cassandra has a crush on Noah."

Cassandra frowns as she angrily yells back at the guy that had spoken up. "I do not you idiot! Why do you always assume that!!"

"You gave him your phone number when Martin first introduced us to him."

Cassandra yells back at him, having done no such thing. "I've told you a hundred times! That wasn't my phone number!! It's was PSN tag!!"

Noah nods his head. "So we could play games together."

"Same thing."

"Completely NOT the same thing!"

Martin steps in between the two of them, there is work that needs to be done right now. "Alright you two break it up, there's more things of Noah's to get in here before the night is over.

Noah looks back to the others. "Oh hey! Do you guys want anything to eat? I just finished cooking food."

David quickly speaks up, thinking it's best not to subjugate anyone else to that cooking attempt. "I think it would be better is we ordered some takeout for everyone."

Noah turns back to David, upset to hear him say something like this. "... it tastes bad doesn't it...?"

David looks back to Noah with a smile on his face, doing his best and lying as to not hurt his feelings. "No! No not at all I just don't think there's going to be enough to split between all your friends, so we'll get Chinese or something instead."

Martin nods his head, going along with that idea, looking back to the others. "Sounds like a great idea to me, alright guys what does everyone want?"

_ _

So Martin and the guys ended up helping me move my stuff into my new house, and after they found out that I was to be unpacking everything on my own because of David's broken leg, they helped with that too. By the end of the day, pretty much everything was where it belonged.

_ _

When everyone left and went home I was dead tired and ready to go to bed.

Noah is lying on the sofa with his head in David's lap, David eating some of the Chinese food that had been left behind, while Goliath licks out an empty takeout box, Mr. Princess is growling at him to try and take it from him. Goliath completely ignores the small dog.

Noah lets out a long yawn. "I'm so tired..."

David looks back to him that not surprising at all. "You and your friends practically unpacked the whole house, you should be tired."

Noah continues to mumble from where he is laying. "I want to go to bed... but I can't move from this spot..."

David grins, the sofa is comfortable enough. "We can sleep here then, it's no big deal."

Noah begins to whine. "... but I want a blanket... I can't get comfortable without a blanket."

"Then go get one."

Noah shakes his head. "No I'm too comfortable... I don't want to move..."

David frowns that just contradicts what Noah had said a second ago. "But you just said- you know what, never mind." He puts the takes out box he had been eating out of down as he reaches beside the sofa, opening a box that had been set beside it and taking a blanket out, putting it over them.

Noah smiles as he cuddles himself into the blanket. "TV blankets are one of the best things you could have..."

David frowns, there is really nothing special about it. "It's just a blanket that stays in the living room..."

Noah nods his head. "Yeah... and it's great."

David shakes his head at the comment.

Noah looks up to David. "You know, Noah and David are both Christian names."

David nods his head. "Yeah... David from David and Goliath." The dogs perks its ears up after hearing his name. "And Noah from Noah and the Whale."

Noah looks half horrified to hear David say this. "Noah and the Whale...? Honey no! That was Jonah."

David frowns, obviously having mixed the stories up then. "Oh... Noah was the guy that parted the waters then?"

Noah frowns that's not right either. "No! That was Moses! Damn it it's from Noah and the Ark! Seriously... how could you not know that?"

David laughs at Noah's reaction. "Right, that one. Sorry."

Noah sighs as he rests his head back in David's lap. "You don't mind that I'm Christian right?"

David shakes his head. "No... but that big picture of Jesus you hung in the front entrance is definitely going to go."

Noah frowns that's not an option. "No!! I like it there!"

David argues back with him. "It's the first thing you see when you walk into the house!"

"Exactly!"

David lets out an annoyed groan.

Noah looks up to David, there is something that is still bugging him. "So... do you really think your kids will like me?"

David nods his head yes. "I'm positive."

Noah still seems nervous over the whole thing. "Really...? Because there's this woman at church who's always crying because she can't get her step kids to like her no matter how hard she tries... and in all the movies the step parents are always portrayed as evil and the kids are always attacking them and stuff..."

David laughs at the comment, it's not going to be anything like that. "Noah don't compare your life to movies or television. Or even to other people. You'll be just fine I'm sure."
