This was my first ever story writing about Digimon :), enjoy! My friend Twilight provided and gave me permission to use her wonderful art as a cover for my story.

It's a Friday morning; cool breezes swirled amid fluffy white clouds that floated over the campsite-the battered tent in the tiny clearing, hemmed in by massive trees on all sides. After yet another restless night, Matt gets up slowly pulling on some shorts and his favorite green tee. The blonde haired teen yawned and just stretched his long arms as he rubbed his sleepy blue eyes. His spiked hair was matted down from sleeping and he just smiled at the morning breezes. Matt sighed as he looked over and saw his Digimon, Gabumon was still sleeping.

Gabumon was Matt's closest friend and was sort of like a bipedal reptile or alligator. As Gabumon was still sleeping, Matt started a fire and put on some of the rations that they'd gathered the previous day. As the raw ferret and bits of rabbit roasted on the crackling flames, Matt gathered up the rest of the raspberries they'd had yesterday.

It'd been about five days since they'd had any contact with the other "Digi-destined" or basically other teenagers and Digimon who've been given the responsibility of protecting the Digital World. As the Digital World was constantly threatened by evil forces and by corruption, the "Digi-destined" always kept their eyes open for signs of conflict. Being closely tied with the Earth's "network" and having been originally created through the telecommunication network, the Digital World was just as important to keep protected as the regular world of "reality". Matt and Gabumon had been in the digital world for about three weeks now and have continued to try and find the other "Chosen" teenagers in order to regroup and find any conflicts or things that seem to have gone awry.

After days of searching, Matt had decided that it was best if he and Gabumon took a few days rest-and so they'd set up a small camp located in some central forest trees they'd come across earlier. Even though both of them had adequate instincts, they'd both had a lot of difficulty in finding actual things to eat. Yesterday, Matt had come across some berries and fruit along with a small rabbit and ferret that they were able to catch. Even though Matt insisted, Gabumon had left most of the food to Matt to eat and had only eaten the two apples they'd found. Today, Matt was cooking the last of the rabbit. As he waits, he wolfs down the last couple of berries that they'd found yesterday. After about fifteen minutes, Matt saw that the rabbit was done and went to wake Gabumon.

"Hey, Gabumon", Matt asked softly. After repeating it several times and shaking Gabumon numerous times, the Digimon awoke with a start; "W...What, oh, morning Matt", he yawned.

Matt couldn't help but smile at Gabumon's sleepy expression. "Hey, I cooked up the last of that rabbit; I want you to have it. I mean you haven't eaten anything since yesterday".

The Digimon was characteristically stubborn. "No, no, you eat it Matt, I'm fine, and you need the strength".

"Uh, but Gabumon" Matt began.

"No, you eat Matt I'm fine".

The boy sighed. "Ok, fine but, I asked. Alright?"

"Yeah, yeah I know, well just finish it quickly so we can scout the area again today", Gabumon yawned.

Matt finished the rabbit quickly and packed up the two shoals that they'd used as ground blankets before marking the spot with some rocks and grass so they could find it later. The duo then set off into the forest to try and find other Digimon-or more importantly the other Chosen in order to regroup. After half the day was about gone, they came to a small stream with some smooth, large rocks around it. They then decided to rest for a while before resuming the trail.

"We're not finding anything! We've only found a couple berries hours ago and we haven't even seen a single Digimon", Matt said, gritting his teeth in frustration.

Gabumon put a comforting claw on Matt's shoulder. "It's okay Matt; we'll find something or someone sooner or later!"

"Hm, you always see the positive side don't ya, Gabumon", Matt asked.

"I try to keep an open mind. Maybe you should too Matt."

Matt just scoffed, and then took to leaning on a rock. Pulling out his harmonica and he began to play some old tunes he'd been practicing. After about fifteen minutes, Gabumon got up and got closer to Matt to listen.

"That's awesome Matt, it sounds really good", Gabumon said.

Matt stopped playing, "Thanks I guess I've got to have something to be good at right?" Getting up, Matt put his harmonica away, and then went to the pond to have a drink-where he saw a fish swim by his head.

For over ten minutes, Matt tried to catch it with his hands or hit it with a rock, but to no avail. His final attempt made him trip over a rock and cut his leg up to his thigh.

"AGH! Dang fish! Little bugger!" Matt shouted.

Gabumon was at his side in a moment, concern written all over his features. "Matt! Are you okay? Here; sit down, you're bleeding", Gabumon said worriedly. Matt sat down and took some of the leaves to try and stop the bleeding but failed after a few attempts.

"Here, let me see it", Gabumon said slowly. The Digimon began licking the wound. At first, Matt tried to pull his leg away, but stopped and stared in astonishment-slowly but surely the bleeding was stopping.

"It's almost stopped, Matt", Gabumon backing away and eyeing up Matt a moment, before returning to the task at hand-or tongue, as it were.

All the while that he was licking the wound, Gabumon came to a realization that he'd not had before; Matt tasted delicious, even more so since Gabumon hadn't eaten in two days. Even after the bleeding stopped, Gabumon kept licking and drooling over Matt's leg. Matt didn't seem to notice for the first few minutes as he thought it was still bleeding-but after a while he tried to pull away again. Gabumon hung resolutely on the limb, desperate to keep his prize.

Matt coughed. "Um...Gabumon I think it has stopped okay."

"Oh, yeah sorry, was getting carried away to stop it, ha-ha", Gabumon said trying to cover himself...That was when he had an idea-a cunning one.

"Hey Matt", the 'mon asked coolly.

"Yeah, Gabumon", Matt replied.

"Um...I think there's something stuck in my tooth on the right side of my mouth. Could you maybe try and get it out please", Gabumon asked innocently.

Matt hesitated a moment, then shook his head. Sure Gabumon didn't...want to...No...he wouldn't, would he? "Um...sure just don't bite me okay, buddy." Gabumon came over to Matt and opened his maw and leaned closer to Matt's head. As Matt ducked his head to see into Gabumon's maw, Gabumon inched his tongue forward, and began to lick Matt's neck.

"HAHA, stop it Gabumon, that tickles, I'm trying to see what's stuck, okay", Matt said laughing. Gabumon just smiled and inched his maw closer and closer over the boy's head as he searched for the non-existent stuck item. "Well, I can't see anything, you probably already picked it out or it fell...wait, what, w...what are you..." The boy got no further-as his head was engulfed by Gabumon's maw at that point. The Digimon began licking Matt's face all over covering it with saliva. The boy's struggles only made Gabumon's tongue work harder, pushing down harder on Matt to push him farther into his mouth.

After a few moments of pushing and licking, Gabumon had Matt engulfed up to his stomach and began exploring him with his tongue and going under the boy's shirt to lick his bare chest and stomach. "Mhmhmahdl, stimlmop", was all that Matt could muster as his head started going down Gabumon throat. The boy's shoes feel off as Gabumon raised his head to the sky and let gravity help him with his meal. As Matt was slowly lowering into Gabumon's maw and gullet, Gabumon continued to lick and explore the boy around his waist, legs, and thighs.

Moments later, the only thing still outside Gabumon was Matt's feet and slowly but surely they descended into Gabumon's mouth and started moving down Gabumon's saliva drenched gullet. Matt felt himself continue slithering down Gabumon's throat when finally he dropped into Gabumon's wet, fleshy stomach. All that Matt could think about was why Gabumon, his friend, would eat him, and why, he going to die. Was Gabumon really that hungry that he would eat his friend? Had he done something to make him mad?

Outside, Gabumon just smiled and leaned against one of the rocks by the stream as he continued to feel Matt moving in his stomach, "Sleep, well Matt", Gabumon said softly as he drifted off to sleep. Inside Gabumon's stomach, Matt stopped struggling as he started to think it was pointless. He was going to die, get digested, by the only friend that he had in the world. Matt knew that he couldn't fall asleep because that would be his last sleep, but he'd walked so long and far and was famished from eating so little that his eyes weighed down until at last, he fell asleep.

Hours later, Matt was roused from his sleep by Gabumon's shifting in his. What, he thought to himself, I'm alive, H...how is this possible? Matt started pushing against Gabumon's stomach and tried to yell for Gabumon to wake up. The stomach in response convulsed and collapsed all around Matt, beginning to push him up the throat. Two minutes later, Matt saw the opening of Gabumon's mouth and after his face slid across Gabumon's tongue one more time, he was deposited slowly by the edge of the pond.

"M...Matt. Are you alright" Gabumon asked hesitantly.

"WHAT, Gabumon, what the..., why did you, y...you, ate me, why" Matt asked in the middle of stuttering and shouting.

"I...I'm sorry Matt, I was just so hungry and, I'd never hurt you ya know, and if you didn't know you tasted so, so mouth-watering", replied Gabumon, a little embarrassed.

"Uhh...Gabumon I just...I thought you were going to kill me alright, I was really s...Scared", Matt said trying to hold back the tears.

"M...Matt, no I would never hurt you, I...I'm really sorry" Gabumon said apologetically before hugging the cringing Matt.

"W...why...why didn't I die, err, um I mean g...get, digested", asked Matt, still sniffing.

Gabumon thought about it. "Oh, well...I guess I have a very slow digestive system. You were only in there for about three or four hours so it wouldn't have had any effect on you unless you'd been in my stomach for at least two days, you'd have been fine."

"O...okay, well just don't do that again, I...I'll find you some food okay", Matt said as he hugged Gabumon back, even though he was still shocked and reeling from his experience.

"Okay, buddy, let's just find somewhere to rest and camp alright, let head to that meadow over there alright, I'll find some food, you just rest", Gabumon told Matt.

"O...okay, I'm glad that I didn't, uh..." Matt yawned, tripping over his sentence.

The Digimon sighed and licked his friend's face. "Matt I love you; I'll make it up to you I promise."

Gabumon helped Matt over to the meadow and helped him get out the cushions and then laid Matt down on one of them as he drifted to sleep. In the meantime, the Digimon was able to find a couple branches of berries and catch two or three fish from the pond that he helped Matt cook when he awoke. After the two friends ate their fill, they both drifted to sleep next to each other after their long, interesting, and "wet" day.
