Laura threw her fighter around to lose the missile but the missile remain locked on her 'ten seconds, when is it going to hit' she thought.

Thirty seconds earlier "you sure the plan will work" Lynx asked

"It's working is it not" Fox replied

"If anything going wrong we have people to evacuate her at a moment's notice" Fox said

"Ok, here we go, firing fox two" Lynx said, a missile raced away from his wing after Laura, Lynx watched her take evasive action but the missile stayed locked on her, it was programmed to reach a certain distance then it would match her speed and follow her.

Laura pulled her fighter through another series of twists and turns to evade the missile, she pull dangerously close to one chunk of ice, the missile slammed into the chunk and exploded, Laura exhaled loudly and set a course for home.

She entered the flight deck of her home and landed on one of the lift, she hit a button on her PDA and the lift descended, once in the hanger she jump down from the fighter, with her Browning 9mm pistol in her hand, it was dark as she approached the service lift of 'the core',

The lift ascended then the doors open revealing a dozen gun barrels pointed at her, she dropped her pistol and raised her hands "I surrender" she said loudly

"Laura, you're alive" her mother said jumping up from the table, pushing past the hunters and giving her daughter a hug before realising something was wrong "what did they do to you" julie cried,

Laura just gave her a confused look "what do you mean" Laura asked

"You're one of them" Julie said examining her daughter's hands

"They gave me a new heart after dad shot me" Laura said giving her father a stern look

"I'm so sorry" David said "Can you forgive me"

Laura just smiled, just then an explosion filled the room with light and noise.

Her fighter had self-destructed as if on cue, killing four hunter that were poking around it

"Everyone alright" David said

"I just lost four people because of your daughter" one hunter yelled, he grabbed Laura "she is now under arrest for the murder of four bounty hunters"

"But you can't" Julie said, Laura heard what sounded like a hollow 'pop', a window pane shattered and one of the hunter's head exploded, Laura looked out and saw Lynx knelling on another fighter with a rifle, she saw another flash and the hunter holding her crumpled to the floor,

Behind her the lift door open to reveal Fox with an auto-pistols in both hands, she opened fire mowing down the remaining hunters "come on we have to go before more arrive" Fox said,

"Let's go" Laura said, pulling her parents, they were stunned but still ran after her to Fox's ship, Laura then jumped in Lynx's fighter, both ships left the station.

"How did you find me" Laura asked Lynx

"Lo-track" Lynx said, Laura looked at her PDA 'tracking chip' she thought,

"So where are we going" Julie asked unsure what the vixen had in store for them

"We will be taking you to our base until this event blows over" the Fox replied

"Why do I have to deal with your parents, Laura" Fox muttered.

Back at their base four bounty hunter cruisers arrived and boarded the station with orders to capture anyone on board, they searched everywhere, but the station was deserted.

Fox landed on the flight deck and was lowered to the hanger; Tiger pushed a power cart towards her ship and behind him dozens of people were running around fighters, lifting ordnance onto wings or helping pilots into cockpits and even pushing fighters onto the flight deck lifts.

"Welcome back, the hunters have swarmed their base, Lynx is coming in now, and patrol two is ready for launch" he said,

"Right, I'll escort these pair to Laura's room, tell Lynx to take Laura to the armoury" Fox said, David and Julie followed Fox to Laura's room then she walked to the armoury.

When she arrived, Lynx and Laura were already there checking weapons "you pair heading to the firing range or what" she asked

"No, we're just trying to irritate you" Lynx said

"Well it's not working" Fox replied, Lynx just smiled then chucked her his rifle, scooped up Laura, she screamed then burst out laughing, Lynx then gently laid her on the floor and proceeded to tickle her, Laura could hardly breathe between bouts of laughter,

"Stop it" Fox said trying to hide her smile behind the butt of the rifle, Laura kicked out in an effort to escape and catch her breath, her kick connected with Lynx's face, Lynx stepped back holding his nose

"I'll get a med-kit" Fox said unable to contain her laughter

"I'm so sorry" Laura said laughing but trying hard to be serious

"let me have a look" she pulled Lynx's hands away revealing a cut on his nose, as she watched the cut got smaller and then heal up

"I'm back" Fox said carrying a field med-kit

"It healed up" Laura said shocked

"Let me look" Fox said knelt in front of Lynx and looked at his nose "nanites".

Fox walked over to a bin and pulled out a small blue grenade, she hit a button and tossed it to Lynx, Laura tried to grab it but Lynx snatched it out of mid-air, it went off. they all felt icy shivers run up and down their backs and static go through each and every hair on their bodies, Lynx gritted his teeth, Fox howled, Laura hissed,

The effects lasted for a second "EMP grenade, talk about a hair raising experience" Lynx said tossing it back to Fox

"The best way to get rid of nanites" Fox said "even you know that".

"Ok, look I'm sorry" Lynx said "I should have told you I had used them but it slipped my mind".

"That's not the only thing that slipped his mind" Laura said.

Lynx just looked at her then poked his tongue at her, Laura poked her tongue back at him, and they both looked like a pair of spoilt children,

"Come on, last ones to the range has to give the winner a bath" Fox laughed, they all grabbed a pistol, one rifle and ran as fast as they could, Lynx was in front with Laura behind him then Fox. Laura leapt on Lynx's back as he arrived to make it a draw for first with Fox less an a second behind them

"Fox has to give us a bath, Fox has to give us a bath" they both chanted, Lynx gave Laura a bear hug

"I'll get you pair next time" Fox said walking to the ammo table; Tiger had anticipated everyone's choice of weapons MP-5, CAR-15 and Garand M1 ammo as well as clips for their pistols. Laura had a little trouble loading the Garand, she couldn't get the clip in, Lynx noticed her problem

"Here let me help you" he said taking the rifle off her, he pulled the clip out and flipped it over, it slid easily back into the rifle, he then test fired the rifle and reloaded it for Laura.

Fox set her rifle to semi-auto and fired at the targets; Lynx also set his rifle to semi-auto and picked his targets.

In the hanger, Tiger looked over a damaged fighter that had just returned from the patrol, he shook his head 'these hunters are getting bold' he thought as he pulled open an access panel.

That night Laura had more nightmares of hunters coming to get her, this time it was three hunters, she screamed as they entered her room,

Seconds later Lynx burst through the door, two of the hunters opened fire, Lynx never had a chance to draw his pistols, his body lay riddled with bloody holes against the wall,

Laura just looked at his body, she fell off the bed and crawled over to him, she pulled his broken body close and started to cry.

The hunters closed in on her, she looked down and saw Lynx's colt .45 pistol, she grabbed it, pointed it at the hunters and fired just as someone came through the door, three gunshots sounded like one, all three hunters fell as one, she could not believe she got all three, someone rested a hand on her shoulder, she looked up into Lynx's bright yellow eyes, she looked down and found she was no longer holding him but he was now standing over her.

Lynx offered her a hand she took it and pulled she up "Am I dreaming" she asked,

Lynx nodded "We are all kindred spirits, searching for another to complete our circle" he said as his put his hand on her heart, his fur changed to match hers, Fox entered and place her hand on Lynx's heart, grey and white splotches erupted all over her fur

"We are all connect in one way" she reached out and touched Laura, Laura's fur changed to a reddish-orange colour "Or another," the floor shook

"You'd better find us, awake and live Laura" Fox said, Laura looked to her left and saw a hunter raise his gun to her head "Or sleep forever", the dream evaporated with a bright flash.

Laura was instantly wide awake, she took deep breaths but couldn't stop shaking, she look at the door and wondered if Lynx was going to burst through it at any moment, she waited but nothing happened, then she remembered in her dream, Fox said 'find us', she jumped up and ran out the door to find Fox.

Fox was waiting for a lift, the doors parted she stepped in "Approach Control" she said, as the doors closed she saw Laura run towards her, she knew something was wrong but the doors had closed.

Laura saw Fox in the lift but the doors had just closed, she banged on the doors then she collapsed in front of the lift and cried, the lift doors parted, a figure stood over her, she looked up at the figure,

It was Fox "Are you ok" Fox asked offering her a hand, she took Fox's hand, lifted herself up and gave Fox a hug, Fox was taken aback by the unexpected hug, she returned the hug only to find Laura was naked and crying, she reached over to a first-aid compartment on the wall and pulled out a blanket,

"Here, you must be cold" Fox said wrapping the blanket around Laura "What's wrong" she asked

"I had a dream in that you told me to find you then I'd be safe" Laura said,

Fox looked at her perplexed "I don't understand" Fox finally said

"THIS IS APPROACH CONTROL, INCOMING HUNTER SHIPS, LAUNCH ALL FI-" the message was cut off by a big boom and howling of wind.

The horses operating 'Approach Control' were killed when the hunters opened fire, a stallion and two wolves were also killed when the rest of the level decompressed.

The station shook "Down to the hanger" Fox yelled pushing Laura to the emergency stairs. In the hanger Tiger was ordering the stragglers to their ships, Fox and Laura arrived

"We're being boarded, all remaining personnel to the armoury" he said, an M16 in his hand "Fox, take Laura with when you leave"

Laura stood watching Fox when someone came up behind her, covered her mouth and lifted her up in the air, it wasn't Lynx's smell, it was a equine kind of smell, Laura squirmed

"Strawberry, will you put her down we have some very serious company arriving" Fox said without turning around, Laura was gently placed back down, she turned around to see a slim, yet muscular 6 foot 5 inch tall filly stand in front of her, the filly had white fur with a mess of flame red hair tied in a ponytail running half-way down her back and a black tail, she was wearing a white combat vest and cargo pants, a big sniper rifle was on one shoulder and a heavy machine gun in her hand, four ammo belts crisscrossed her chest.

"Laura meet Strawberry, she's our best soldier and a gentle giant" Fox said turning around "Strawberry, we have to get as many people to the cruisers, ok", the filly nodded, the filly threw Laura a green tunic to put on, her gaze snapped up,

A hunter had walked on to the upper level catwalk; Strawberry dropped the machine gun, pulled her rifle off her shoulder and fired. Laura saw her look up, drop the machine gun and pull the rifle off her shoulder, she turn to look, she heard a faint 'pop' then heard the machine gun hit the ground.

"There will be more, we'd best take cover" Strawberry said with a smirk on her face as she rested the sniper rifle on her thigh, Laura looked back at her, her voice sounded almost child-like "What?" the filly asked when she saw Laura look at her.

Strawberry picked up machine gun and handed it to Laura, Laura heard gun fire, it sounded like a CAR-15 and an MP-5, everyone hid behind some crates as two figure came out onto the catwalk, Strawberry snapped up her rifle again but didn't fire, both figures took off running across the catwalk firing behind them, more figures came through the door, Strawberry fired at the new arrivals, both figure stopped in the middle of the catwalk and slid down the ladder and ran towards them, Laura noticed both figures were loaded down with guns and ammo

"Lynx" Laura yelled "over here", she was happy to see him

"Sorry we're late but we had to take a few detours" Buck the stallion said as they handed the weapons out, Fox got an MP-5 and Laura got a M30 carbine

"A little help here" Strawberry said urgently, Lynx swung his sniper rifle around and help reduce the flow of hunters on the catwalk

"Reloading" Strawberry said loudly, she ejected the magazine from her rifle and jammed another one in,

"RUN!" Lynx yelled, the hunters opened fire, Buck's head exploded like a tomato as his body was riddled with bullets,

"No! Buck!" Strawberry screamed

"No time, we got to go, now" Lynx said shouldering his rifle and he pushed Strawberry away from buck's broken body then scooped up Buck's MP-5 "Go!"

Everyone ran for the lower docking ports and hoped that no hunters were there.

Outside the battle was going well for the hybrids, the hunters had lost many ships, a hybrid cruiser dropped away from the battle towards the station and docked, it's security force secured the docking port and the surrounding areas.

"A cruiser has docked, port 6" Tiger said as they ran, port 6 was up one level, they came to a ladder well "Here climb" Tiger waved them up ladder, Strawberry went first then Laura followed by Fox, Lynx, Tiger was last, he waited at the bottom, Strawberry stopped at the hatch

"I hear gunfire above" she whispered Laura, Laura waved down to everyone, everyone stopped, Strawberry continued to listen then she reached for her machine gun and rammed the butt into the hatch three times then waited, she opened the hatch a crack,

The hatch was wrenched open; six gun barrels came into view "More friendlies, sir" one horse soldier yelled

"Get them on to the ship, Sergeant" the skunk CO yelled back. The Sergeant helped Strawberry out

"I'll take it from here, Sergeant" she said to him, the sergeant nodded and went back to the fight, Strawberry pulled Laura, Fox and Lynx out but she couldn't see Tiger

"Tiger" she yelled down, Tiger poked his head into the ladder well

"The claymores are set" he yelled "there's too many, Strawberry close the hatch, good luck to you all",

"And to you as well" Strawberry yelled back then she closed the hatch

"Fall back to the ship" the CO yelled, they all ran back to the ship.

"It's no good, we can't get near that battleship" Red 2 yelled

"We got to protect the cruisers" Red 3 replied, Red leader made a choice

"Ok, Red squad launch everything you have left at the battleship" he said, dozens of missiles and torpedos filled space, most were intercepted, the rest hit home, red squad pulled up but red leader didn't, his fighter slammed into the battleship's aft section, decimating the engine rooms, cutting power to life support and weapons, the battleship was now locked on a direct course for the station.

The hybrid cruiser pulled away from the station and jumped away with remaining hybrid capital ships as the battleship carved a path through the station. Nuclear torpedoes stored in the battleship's bow detonated, the station and the battleship were incinerated in the thermonuclear explosions. The hybrid ships made several jump to hinder pursuit, their destination was a half desert, half forest planet, the shuttle touched down in the middle of a rain storm.

Lynx, Strawberry, Laura and Fox stepped off the shuttle first followed by fifty-two other survivors "it's wet" Laura yelled through her covered mouth, Strawberry pushed Lynx into a puddle, Lynx scooped up some water and threw it at Strawberry, everyone was laughing as a small tiger approached them

"I am Commander White, welcome to Leopard Station", everyone followed the five foot tall figure of Commander White into the base

"He's shorter than I am" Laura whispered, Strawberry chuckled putting her arm around Laura and held her close as they walked, Laura felt safer,

"I could use a nice hot bath" Fox said, Laura suddenly remembered their bet

"We all could use one" Strawberry replied

"Especially you, Strawberry" Laura laughed; Strawberry smiled and shook her head.

Fox sat in her private spa letting the steaming hot water warm her, there was a knock on the door "Someone's in here" she called out, the door shook "I said get lost, bone head" she yelled, the door opened,

Lynx, Laura and Strawberry walked in all wearing their bathing suits, Strawberry was wearing her flame red bikini, she sealed the door behind her "What the fuck do you want" Fox said angrily

"We're here for our bath" Lynx said, Fox growled "or have you forgotten",

"No" Fox said "jump in"

Lynx, Laura and Strawberry climbed in "so who's first" Fox said

"Well I think Strawberry is the girl of the hour" Lynx said "what I wouldn't give to work the kinks out of those muscles, by the way nice bikini"

Strawberry waded over to him, "Thanks, you may want to start with these" she said holding her arm up and flexing her arm muscles

"Turn around and I'll start where I want to" Lynx said, she turned around slowly, Lynx started massaging her shoulders after a few seconds he slowly moved down her arms then back up to her neck,

"Hey Lynx, what do you get when a 6 foot 5 tall filly lies down with a 3 foot long rifle?" Fox asked

"A hard-on but I would also get a hard-on by see a certain 5 foot 7 vixen lying down with a rifle too" Lynx answered with a smirk on his face,

Fox blushed as Strawberry neighed softly under Lynx's touch, his touch was soothing, calming, she closed her eyes suddenly feeling tired.

Strawberry open her eyes and looked around, everyone was relaxing in the spa, she relaxed against the side, the door exploded inward and hunters stormed in, she sank under the water, Fox had a smile on her face as the hunters shot her then Laura then Lynx, finally they pulled her out and shot her, she collapsed faced down on the floor, one hunter raised his weapon to her head, all she could hear was her own heart beating.
