Hey folks, decided to edit a few things!

Chapter 1: A Journey Begins

It was the last day of term and the last class was ending and I was all but prepared to walk out and enjoy the holidays. The Day had started as they always did. Me getting up getting dressed and going toschool. Mundane and boring but it was something. Life had pretty much fell into the routine after that rainy day all those years ago. Life was largely been uneventful for me. My biggest worry was making sure assignments were on time. I was just about to get my coat out of the locker when somebody from behind slammed it closed right in my face. I growled and turned around to face whoever decided to bug me and saw a smug looking Alsatian crossing his arms around his chest. I just rolled my eyes knowing just who this bastard was...

James Dawson, a fellow sophomore and star football jock, we had been foes ever since we met but why he seemed so determined to torment me I never knew but everybody knew that Dawson was the biggest and meanest jock in the entire school. He was also as dumb as a sack of bricks... (I had seen his report card and I was always wondering how he was able to stay on the team.) I just sighed and shook my head. I just wanted to go home is all. It was the last day of term and I was in a good mode and he just had to ruin it.

"What do you want Dawson?" I asked him wearily. I wasn't in the mood to deal with bone-headed jocks at the moment. Normally people left me alone... I was perfectly happy to be by myself so I didn't bother people either.

"I saw you looking at me in the changing-rooms faggot! Now apologize or I'll knock your block off!" I just laughed and rolled my eyes at the stupid dog. He didn't take kindly to this however and snarled at me. "Something funny faggot?" He growled in an attempt to look intimidating but to me it just made him look stupid. I just chuckled again and shrugged before I spoke trying to keep the amusement out of my voice.

"Why would I bother looking at you? Contrary to what you think I'm not gay and even if I was gay you still wouldn't be my type." I told him dismissively. The doggie just snarled at me but I continued to ignore him as I got my Wild-Dog Pax jacket and hat out of my locker and closed it. When I turned around I was annoyed to notice the Alsatian was still looming behind me. "Really Dawson, I want to go home so please move." The dog just chuckled darkly at my request and grumbled deeply in his chest.

"Make me queer!" Tired of being accused of being gay I snarled back at the oversized mutt.

"Seriously Dawson move!" I told him calmly. "I don't want any trouble... I just want to go home and enjoy the holidays. He continued to chuckle and I felt my fur stand on end. "Why won't you leave me alone? Do you have a crush on me or something?" I asked him bluntly and he snarled.

"Oh, your going to pay for that queer!" He yelled cocking his arm readying it for a punch. I quickly managed to duck just as he let it go. I felt the brush of his fist graze my cheek I quickly responded back with a punch of my own my fist crashing against his muzzle. He gave out a whine but he recovered quickly enough and managed to slam his fist into my gut causing me to yelp as well. Soon enough we were both surrounded by other students egging us on. I just ignored them and continued to fight back. I managed to get a few hits in on him and I think I managed to bust his nose because blood started to pour from his muzzle. He also got me a few times in the face and chest and I was sure I would get a black-eye later from all this. We continued our fight with the other students still egging us on. Eventually I heard a voice of one of the teachers yell at everybody to move but I didn't care nor did Dawson for that matter we just kept on fighting neither caring about the fact that one of the teachers had started to try and pry us apart.

"Littlesea! Dawson stop this at once!" He did manage to separate us for a bit but we quickly struggled out of his grasp. "Littlesea! Dawson! Enough of this!" The teacher was a trim Lynx and he was no match for either of us as we both towered for him.. After several more minutes he called for someone to help him. Soon enough a large black-bear another member of the staff managed to finally get us away from each other. The Lynx Mr. Brandon panted for several minutes trying to reclaim his breath after several more minutes of panting and whimpering he finally managed to catch his breath and he glowered at the two us before speaking.

"Littlesea, Dawson... follow me now!" The Lynx said as he stomped away from us and the Black-bear Mr. Ryan the physics teacher dragged us along making sure to keep us apart it seemed. I didn't bother trying to struggle. It was well known that Mr. Ryan did weightlifting on the side and I doubted I would be able to outmatch him physically so I just kept still letting him drag us to wherever. Dawson kept struggling though but Mr. Ryan didn't even seem to notice the young Alistain's struggle... soon enough we found ourselves outside the Office. Mr. Ryan ushered us in and told us to sit down away from each other. We did as he told us to and sat down at opposite ends of the room. I just let my eyes wander around the office. It was rather plain as offices went the walls were beige and there was several tacky looking paintings scattered around the room hanging on the walls. I could feel Dawson's glare but I couldn't bring myself to care... I was just so bored.

After about ten minutes of just sitting and waiting Mr. Brandon finally came out of the office and glanced towards me. "Littlesea, Mr. Samson will see you now..." I just nodded and walked passed Mr Ryan the bear, Mrs. Hamilton the perky bunny sectary and then past Dawson not even bothering to glance over at him though he continued to glare spitefully towards me and then past Mr. Brandon and on into the room. As soon as I entered the Lynx stepped out and closed the door leaving me and the Principle a massive bull named Mr. Samson. When he saw me enter he gave me a tiny grin before he spoke.

"Ah Kaelan, good to see you. Sit down will you, we need too talk about some things." He stated gently motioning to a seat stationed right in front of his desk. I just nodded and sat down in the offered seat and looked towards him wondering what he wanted to speak about. Most likely the fight... I just sighed too myself. If it wasn't for Dawson I would've been on my way home by now but no he just had to be a total prick! "Now, I understand that you and James were in a fight a little bit ago. This is at least the third time this term that you've been sent here for fighting and frankly I have no idea what to do with you... you're a brilliant student Kaelan, you should know better then to fight in school." I growled at that, I never starred those fights! Those assholes should have just left me alone! Not noticing I wasn't paying attention the bull continued his lecture. "Logically I should suspend you again if not expel you... but I need to ask... what caused you and James to fight?" He asked me calmly.

"He called me a faggot, I'm not gay though... and I swear Mr. Samson I wasn't the one to throw the first punch!" told him. He just sighed at that.

"Do you get offended when people think you are gay Kaelan? You do know that our faculty has a very strict zero policy towards discrimination of minorities... if you ever need to speak with me or one of the other teachers please do. We do not care if you are gay Kaelan... it is none of our concern." I felt myself tense at that and I tried my very best not to claw up the leather on the chair.

"I'm not gay!" I shouted. Mr. Samson did not react to my outburst but he did raise an eyebrow.

"I never said you were Kaelan... I just said if you were gay it would be no issue for me..." He went silent for a bit as if contemplating something and stayed that was for several minutes. Eventually he regained his train of thought and looked back towards me with a grave expression. Deep down I was pretty nervous... I didn't want too get expelled... dad would flip his shit if I was... and I didn't want to disappoint him... I owed him everything. I was broken from my thoughts when he spoke up again. "Now, I should at least suspend you for fighting... but since you did not start the fight and it IS the last day of term before the holidays I will let you off easy. No suspension or detention..."

"You serious?" I asked him in disbelief. He nodded and smiled.

"Yes I am, but be warned Kaelan, if I hear you get into another fight I will be forced to expel you understand." I nodded surprised that I had gotten off scott-free.

"Yes, I understand sir! Thank you!" He just sighed and shook his head briefly before speaking.

"Very well, you are dismissed and please bring in James. I need to speak with him as well..." I nodded and quickly left the room and then went on my way to exit the office. When I reached Dawson I gave a look of disdain before speaking.

"Mr. Samson will speak with you..." I said before passing out Ryan the bear teacher and on into the hallway where I ran into a pretty Leopard girl who seemed to be pacing around outside. "Hey," I spoke to the girl. "How long have you've been waiting?" The girl jumped slightly and then grabbed me into a tight hug. Bemused I could only pat her back until she decided to let me go. She then glared and knocked me across the head. "Ow, what was that for Emily?" I asked rubbing my sore head. She just glared at me for several seconds before she spoke.

"You got into another fight! Damnit Kael when will you learn!" She shouted before swatting at me again.

"I didn't start the fight! It was Dawson!" I told her as I managed to grab her paw before she hit me again. "He's the one who started it!" She just sighed and managed to squiggle herself out of my grasp and rubbed her wrist and glared at me.

"Still you fought back!"

"What was I supposed to do? Let him hit me?" I shouted at her but she just shook her head as if annoyed at me.

"You could've gone and got a teacher! But no you had to fight! You got expelled didn't you?" I just chuckled at that and she glared at me once again. "What? What's so funny?" I just laughed for a little bit longer before I managed to catch myself and spoke up.

"Actually no, I didn't get expelled or even detention I got off scott-free!" She just blinked as if surprised.

"You didn't get in trouble... at all?" I nodded and grinned towards her and nodded. She just shook her head once again and sighed. "Boy, do you realize just how lucky you are?" I nodded silently. I did indeed know just how lucky I was not to get suspended or expelled. Now I just needed not to get into fights... Eventually we went on and walked out of the door. Snow was boring down and I was grateful I had gotten my jacket on before I left the office. But otherwise it was a pretty typical Veranti Winter... cold and wet. Though, it was always wet here in Veranti.... Crosstown was famous for being one of the rainiest towns in all of Mortealis. I adjusted my jacket and put my hood over my head too block the cold wind from my face. Emily also adjusted her jacket and scarf and shivered.

"Brr... it's freezing..." She whined briefly and I rolled my eyes.

"You grew up here and you just realized it's cold here?" I asked her sarcastically she just glared and swatted at me again.

"Ass," She mubled and I just gave her a shit-eating grin. She just shook her head once again and began to walk towards the exit of the school grounds. She turned around briefly and looked towards me for a bit before stating. "You coming Kael?" I quickly nodded and ran up to her. Together we walked outside the school and into town. Crosstown would hardly be considered a social mecca it was pretty much a small town in the middle of nowhere miles away from of the larger cities and towns. It was nice though, but then again I never remembered living anywhere else... "You know, you'd think you'd have a nasty black-eye when he got you but not one sign of swelling." I reacted by reaching up on my face and frowned. She was right, any swelling had vanished around my eye. This wasn't the first time it happened though. Anytime I got hurt or broke an arm or something it seemed not even a hour or so later it was gone.

"I've noticed... but this time isn't the first time it's happened though," I told her calmly. I've always been able to heal pretty quick for whatever reason. She just looked at me and smirked briefly at that.

"Maybe you're a Super?" A Super was someone with a supernatural ability like a Superpower... nearly all Super worked for MODD... mostly working in the military division. A few of them were working outside of MODD's grip and of course you had those who used their powers for evil... I just laughed in her face. Me a Super? I highly doubted that. I was never really a fan of the Super especially the ones who worked for MODD... they were a bunch of glory-hounds and I really did hate spandex.

"I'm positive that I'm not a Super Emily." I told her but she wouldn't let it go and kept on!

"But you do apparently have some form of regeneration don't you? Isn't that a precursor to having powers?" I just shook my head once again refusing to listen to her. It was so stupid! I was not a Super. I was definitely positive about that. She just chuckled a bit as we passed. by Cross Keep. It was a massive castle it was the oldest building by far in the town and outside the gate's stood a massive bronze statue of a tall wolf holding a sword and a book, Vincent Cross... one of the two brothers of the Crosstown legend. Emily shivered a bit as she walked passed the statue.

"You okay?" I asked her concerned she just shook it off and smiled at me.

"It's nothing, just that statue just gives me the creeps... it looks as if it's watching me or something...." I just chuckled at that and patted her shoulder.

"It's just a statue Em, and Vincent Cross has been dead for hundreds of years... and I'm pretty sure the entire line died out centuries ago... probably before the War happened...." She just shook her head and relaxed a bit She turned back towards me smiling somewhat unnerving me a little bit.

"You're right, but I think I'm right about you being Super... I mean you have some weird regeneration thing... have you ever bothered trying to check?" I just shook my head annoyed 'Back to this again are we?'

"I'm not Super Emily! I'm positive about that!" The girl just tiled her head in confusion before she asked,

"What do you have against Super's? Not all of them are so bad..." I just sighed and tried my best to figure out just how to explain my issues with her.. I didn't know exactly why I disliked the Super's...

"Most of them are just glory-hounds..." I later admitted. "The ones working for MODD are always asking for a commission fee even though MODD pays them an outrages amount of money already... they're just greedy. And the ones who don't work for MODD are just vigilantes... they don't care who they hurt or what laws they break . Those ones are just far to reckless... and then there are the super-villains..." I was fully prepared to continue my rant but Emily just decided to shut me up with another statement.

"I think your in denial, about being a Super... and being gay!" I just gave her a look of pure shock. 'Not this again! And from Emily as well?' Ran through my head while I snarled at her. Though the Leopard didn't seem bothered and just stared at her perfectly painted claws. "Don't give me that look, it's kinda obvious... at least for me that is. Really, you've never showed any attraction to any of the girls at school... even me..." She said pouting slightly.

"I'm not gay Emily!" I growled through my snarls.

"Prove it then," She said getting in my face. "Kiss me if you aren't gay." I gave her a wide-eyed look.

"That's no fair!" I cried out but she only moved closer.

"Well." I just sighed and did as she bade. I leaned down and just as I was about to let our lips touch I just... stopped. For whatever reason I just couldn't go through with it... and I didn't know why. I tried to force myself to kiss her but my mind just kept on recoiling at the thought. I didn't understand... Emily was very pretty and for ages I had thought about kissing her but now when I had the chance I just couldn't... after several minutes of waiting she pulled back with a massive smirk on her face.

"This doesn't mean anything..." I muttered trying not let her see the turmoil my mind was in. I couldn't be gay could I? But now that I thought about it... I shook my head again. I was broke my my thoughts when a small paw patted my arm. I quickly looked towards Emily who was smiling gently.

"Hey, you know I'll have your back no matter what right?" I just nodded faintly mind still reeling. I couldn't be gay... no way. I just shook my head and looked towards Emily who was cheerfully standing beside me.

"So," I said in an effort to get off of the subject of my sexuality. "Your family still heading to Atlas?" She nodded and smiled.

"Yeah, you still coming?" She asked me and I nodded.

"Yeah, I managed to convince dad to let me go... took forever to do so." I grumbled. Em just chuckled and parred my arm once again.

"He worries about you, he's a good guy Mr. Littlesea ... he cares a lot about you." Eventually we reached the crossroads to our houses and Emily turned towards me. "Now, be sure to be ready at around 9.... we'll pick you up then, Veranti Airport is a long way away." I just nodded and smiled and went my own way. But without her to distract me my mind went right back to what I was trying to avoid. 'Am I really gay?' I had never given it any thought really... I had always thought I was straight by default. My mind get on repeating the question up until I reached the house. It was a tiny house about two rooms and one bath but it was all we needed. I quickly opened the door.

"Dad I'm home!" I shouted off taking off my jacket and hat and putting them on the coat-rack near the door. I was surprised when I didn't see him sitting in the living-room with a beer as he usually was when I came home. Usually he was getting ready for work but he wasn't there. "Dad?" I asked looking around. After several minutes of silence I yelled out again and I saw him poke his head out of his room.

"Oh Kael, your home... good get your stuff..." I just gave him an odd look confused at what he meant.

"Huh?" Was all I said. He sighed and looked me right in the eye.

"We're going on a trip, just you and me."

"But I'm supposed to go with Em and her parents to Atlas!" I cried out. "We had everything planned!" Dad just looked at me calmly before he spoke.

"I understand, but plans change. I just want us to spend the holiday together just you and me... away from all the distractions of home." He told me softly. "It's been a very long time since it's just been you and me and I miss those days. I just gave him a funny look but sighed. I had a feeling that I'd not be able to talk him out of this.

"So where are we going?" I asked lamely. I had really been looking forward to that trip for months... Dad didn't seem to notice my gloom because he was excitedly taking out something from his pockets and threw it to me. It was a piece of paper a flier of some kind. It was talking about the Light Festival in Eldra... a city in Salmarta...

"We're going out of the country?" I asked sceptically. "We've never been outside of Rillotia... why now?" He just shrugged and smiled.

"Thought it'd be great to see a change in scenery. I heard Eldra is beautiful this time of year and they're famous for the Festivals they run there. It'll be great Kael!" He told me. I really didn't want to go... We would have to go through Central probably and that didn't seem like much fun but his face and his eyes...

"Sure... sounds like fun." I just accepted my fate. And maybe he was right? Maybe we would have fun? It certainly sounded better then staying here for the holidays. His smile brightened once again and he grabbed me into a tight hug.

"Thank you! I promise I'll make this the best vacation ever! I promise you that son!" I just nodded gamely and patted his back gently as I could. After about a few hours of making sure everything was needed we were pulling out. I quickly managed to grab my phone and send a call to Emily.

"Hello Emily here, what do you want?" The familiar cheerful voice rang out.

"Hey Em," I said.

"Kael? Hi! What's up?"

"Nothing really, just calling and telling you I won't be able to go with you to Atlas... my dad's dragging us off to Eldra... but I'll see you when school starts back up okay?"

"Sure, and I've always wanted to see Eldra... the famed city of Metal. I've heard the city has the largest smelting complex in all of Mortaelis." I nodded to that.

"Yeah, I heard..." I told her softly.

"Maybe you'll be able to meet Commander Hart." I just laughed at that. I highly doubted that I would be able to ever actually meet the 'Iron Soldier'. He was the holder of one of the twelve elemental Seals. A long time ago there were numerous seals but all except the 12 were destroyed in the Great War... nobody knew why only those 12 survived.

"You never know," she stated cheerfully. "You might just meet him!" I chuckled darkly at that.

"Still, well I'll talk to you later, bye!" She said bye back and hung up. I just sighed and leaned back against my seat as dad drove. We had talked a bit and listened to music. After several hours of driving we finally reached the airport. Instead of getting onto a plane we to the Station leading to Central. It was a technical marvel Central, a massive floating moon hovering over Rillota. It was a major hub of transport. It had train-lines going everywhere in Mortaelis.

"So, excited Kaelan?" Dad asked me as we were waiting for our train. I just shrugged not really knowing what to say. I had been really hoping to go to Atlas but of course that didn't work. I didn't know why but for some reason I had a really bad feeling about this trip. I didn't know exactly why I did but for some reason I feared something bad would happen. It was so stupid so I didn't bring it up. I doubted dad would have ever believed me anyway.

"Sure, I guess." I finally answered pushing my bad feeling out of my head. We eventually managed to board the train when it entered the station and then began our way to Central. I panicked briefly as the train was lifted off of the ground by many magnetic tethers lifting it up to the massive artificial moon. I just looked down towards the ground admiring the vast forests that covered Veranti. Veranti City shimmered off the bright, blinding sun. Sadly it started to rain again blocking the sunlight out and I just sighed and sat back down in my seat. As we got closer to Central the Train started to slow and we eventually we entered the artificial moon. When the train stopped everybody got all and I gasped in amazement. I had always knew Central was huge but the sheer size was incredible. There were trains everywhere and this was just to Rillotia! Countless smaller trains seemed to act as fast transport inside the false moon each with a different sign for each country.

The entire terminal was filled with many different shops and restaurants. Since we were both starving we quickly went to a nice looking restaurant and once we sat down a perky looking squirrel waitress came and served us. Dad being the total carnivore he was ordered a steak while I ordered the mushroom ravioli. "You know," my dad said as soon as our drinks arrived. "I'm glad we done this son, it's been ages since we've done something like this." I did nod it had been awhile since we've done something together. Usually he was too busy with work and I was either studying, doing homework or hanging out with Em.

"Yeah, I'm glad as well. So, what all do you got planned?" I asked the older wolf expectantly. He just chuckled at that and smiled.

"I've got a lot planned. Some sightseeing and of course seeing the enjoying the Light Festival." Soon enough the waitress returned with our meals. We quickly chowed down and just barely caught the train to the Salmarta terminal before it left. I was thankful we had used Central's baggage carrier for our luggage so we didn't carry it. I just looked out in wonder as the other terminals whizzed by and all the different furs rushing to catch their trains. Finally though our own train stopped and deposited us at the Salmarta Terminal. Quick as a flash we caught the train heading for Sinra which was the closest stop to Eldra. Once we boarded the train the doors slammed shut and we were moving once again. This time going down. I peaked out of my window as soon as we exited the artificial moon.

Sinra has to be by farr the largest city I'd ever seen! It was massive! Towering skyscrapers as far as the eye could see countless floating roads crisscrossed each other and thousands of hover-cars ran quickly through those roads. Everything was covered in what looked like a faint cover of snow making the scene even more beautiful But the most notable thing I saw was of course the walls. Two massive walls made out of the hardest metal imaginable. The twin walls of Sinra stood proud one protected the city itself and the other guarded what looked like a massive wall field that seemed to mostly be farmland. From what I had read the walls were built during the war so to protect the city from outside forces.

"Amazing isn't it?" My dad's voice raang out from beside me and I could only nod. Sinra was beautiful.

"Um, dad..." I asked curious. "I've always wondered, why does Sinra have two walls?" He chuckled at that a little bit before he spoke.

"The Second wall was built to protect the farmland so the city wouldn't starve. Also if the outer wall was ever breached the farmland would be a buffer-zone for the warriors to fight the invaders. Whoever built the walls was quite the genius I say. I only nodded a bit as we got closer to the city. After several more minutes we entered the Station and were ushered out along with the rest of the crowed.. Sinra Station was pretty impressive though not near as amazing as Central was but still pretty nice. Stone arches seemed to run throughout the area and countless stained glass window's made it almost feel like a church. While I was admiring the architecture Dad looked at our ticket for a bit before humphing.

"We should be heading onto the Airport... we don't want to miss our plane!" He said and we quickly began to rush towards our destination. Our luggage has already been loaded so we didn't have to worry about that so it was a mad-dash towards the Airport area. On the way we passed two male furs kiss each other before one left to board a train. "Queers..." my dad muttered under his breath. I doubt they heard him but I did and my heart dropped. 'If I am gay how do I explain that to my dad?' I thought to myself. I didn't think my dad was actually homophobic but I had a feeling he didn't really care for gays. It made me nervous. I blamed Em though! It was her fault for bringing it up, if it wasn't for her I wouldn't be questioning my sexuality. "You alright son? You look distracted?"

"I'm fine dad." I murmured shaking my head clearing it as best I could. But the thought of him throwing me out made me feel a bit ill in my stomach. Soon enough thank the gods we reached the terminal leading to Eldra. Dad showed our tickets to the attendant lady and she smiled brightly and let us through. The plane-ride wasn't much but I did get to see more of the Salmartian countryside. Lots of mountains and forests ran wild outside the Sinra walls. Countless rivers crisscrossed across the wilderness. Salmarta seemed so different from Rillotia... finally our flight landed in Eldra the City of Metal. Excited to see the city I quickly ran out of the airport leaving dad to get the luggage and stopped and stared wide-mouthed at what I saw. Eldra Airport was on top of a hill and from my perch I could see the entire city spread out from under me. Eldra was at least twice the size of Crosstown but it did have the small-town feel unlike the mega-cities like Sinra or even Shellingron. Throughout the entire city thousands of tiny lamps were scattered everywhere bouncing light off of the thick snow causing the ground to be covered in a faint shimmer... it was beautiful. And in the very middle of the the city stood a massive bronze statue towering over all the buildings.

The statue depicted a tall muscular bull holding a large hammer. If I remembered my studies it was a statue of Miotal the God of Metal and protector of the Iron-smiths. In the Church of the Pillars there were many gods. The most powerful and well respected were the core thirteen. At the top was Adnel the Great Father and underneath him were the Sacred Six (Fire, Water, Earth, Air, Light, Dark) and the Lesser Six (Lightning, Ice, Metal, Sound, Time, Space). Miotal was a member of the lesser six the God of Metal. The Light Festival itself was in celebration of Aldreis Day which was the celebration of the birth of Alreina the goddess of Light According to legend she was the last of the 12 to be born which was why her celebration day was the last. Enough of the lecture! Anyway the city was probably the most beautiful place I'd ever seen. I was broken from my awe when I heard someone's amused voice speak behind me.

"Now that your done gawking will you help me with the luggage please?" I turned around and saw my sad standing there with all our stuff in his arms I quickly grabbed my things relieving him of some of the weight. Soon enough we found ourselves at one of the local hotels (We got lucky, our room was the last one in the city.) And put our things away and finally went to sleep.

The next day consisted off mostly sightseeing and shopping but at night things really started. Countless people filled the streets of Eldra and parties were happening everywhere. The streets were also crowded with so many people it was hard to walk anywhere without bumping into somebody.

"Stay close to me Kaelan, I don't want us to be separated by the crowds." I just nodded and walked beside him. We walked throughout the city for another hour or so before it happened. I felt someone bump into me nearly knocking me over. I was about to yell at the person before I noticed my pocket felt lighter. When I stuck my paw into it I noticed it was empty.

"My watch!" I shouted looking all over my person trying to find it. My watch was the only thing that I had from before I woke up in dad's house. I always had it with me. When I looked around I saw someone dressed in a hoodie flash something gold. It looked just like... "Hey! Give that back!" I shouted before chasing off after they guy. I was so focused on chasing him down I didn't even hear my dad shout.

"Kaelan! Get back here now!" But I was gone. I continued to chase him throughout the crowds. People were giving me funny looks when they saw me running. I was just about to catch up to him when... -CRASH!!!- I wound up slamming into what felt like a mountain.

"Hey, you okay kid?' A deep voice asked me. I looked up briefly and gulped. In front of me stood a massive red wolf. He was at least a head or two taller than me and he was dressed in a uniform that marked him as a member of the MODD security force which was pretty much the police. He was also absolutely ripped. A felt a blush flow up my cheeks while he looked at me in a strange manner. "You okay kid? Answer me, unless your mute or something..."

"I-I'm fi-fine sir..." I stuttered. He just chuckled and held out a paw to help me up. I quickly grabbed it and lifted me up with surprising ease. "You need to be more careful kid, why were you running like a madman?" He asked calmly. "You don't look drunk or high so what's your deal...?"

"Someone stole something of mine!" I blurted out. "It was a watch... something very important to me!" He nodded and took out what look like a notepad.

"'Alright, what did you lose?" He asked.

"A watch, a golden pocket-watch...." He nodded.

"Alright, Now follow me I'll help you..." He said when he put his notepad back in his pocket. "wait... you mean like this?" He asked holding out the very same watch.

"Yes!" I said grabbing it out of his paws and looked it over. It was definitely my watch. "How'd you get it?" I asked him curious.

"I have no idea... it just wound up in my pocket... anyway, what's your name kid?" He asked patting me on my shoulder.

"Kaelan Littlesea sir, and you?" I asked the giant wolf.

"Aidan Hart, Lieutenant Aidan Hart at your service!" 'Hm, Hart... where did I hear that name before?

"Wait, Hart? As in Commander Hart the Iron Soldier?" I asked in awe. He just grinned at me and chuckled.

"Yes, indeed he's my dad... I grew up in the Military! Now you here alone kid?"

"Stop calling me kid!" I demanded embarrassed before answering. "But no, I'm not alone... I'm with my dad but we got separated when I went off to chase the guy who stole my watch." He just nodded before he spoke.

"Ah, very well... now let's go find your dad shall we." He was aboutto pat me on my back before he froze. "Kid move!"
