Prologue
#1 of Lycans and Zombies
The day my life turned upside down wasn't when the Zombies came knocking down our doors. No, that was just a minor setback. The day I met Caleb is when everything I once believed turned around and bit me in the ass.
I should probably start from the beginning, it would probably make a lot more sense. In the year 2013, scientists were doing experiments on people. They were trying to make a cure for the flu, one that would make the recipient completely immune to the virus. Well, the first tests didn't go so well. The people in the first round died within fifteen minutes of being injected with the serum. So, it was back to the drawing boards for them. Two months after that incident, they tried again with the same results. Except the brains of those injected restarted themselves. Well, not the whole brain. Only a portion of it, the part that controls motor functions.
Newly made zombies are fast as hell and really strong. And apparently, the new virus those scientists created is highly contagious once it gets into your blood, and boy does it spread fast. Within half an hour of being infected, you'll just drop dead. Fifteen minutes after that, you rise again as one of the undead. The only ways to kill them is either a shot to the head or completely severing the spinal cord at the base of the neck. Most people didn't know this at first, and so it turned into a epidemic. To make it even worse, the virus found a way to travel in the human body without killing its host, and within a month, the virus had spread across the world.
I continued my studies in the medical field, trying to help any way I could, but it all seemed pointless in the end.
Any remaining survivors were split up, trapped where they are by the zombies. Most groups had good fortifications that the mongrels couldn't break through. They weren't smart enough to even open doors, all they did was slam their bodies hopelessly against it, trying to get it to break. We were told that eventually the virus would just kill itself off.
That was a year ago.

but here it is, the prologue to my zombie/lycan story that will probably be very very short
