My first story for Mythology Month.

A man returning from greece with an obsession for Minotaur's comes back home, though when he gets there things turn out far less nicer than he plans.

I hope you all enjoy, I would love to hear what you all think. ^^

Terrance looked out at the city, he had returned to his home state after a going away to Greece to get his degree in Greek History. The man had been interested in the Greek's past since he was a child; the ideas of the civilization's mythology had interested him. One of the first stories that he had heard as a child was the story of Theseus and the Minotaur, he was profoundly interested by the mythical beast.

It had taken Terrance quite a while to get the proper documentation to be able to attend the college in Greece but he had been barely able to accomplish getting them by the time he graduated, his scholarships paid off all of his schooling while his parents helped him about by paying for his traveling fees.

After all the years of his studying Terrance was glad to finally be back home, the week before returning home he had sent his resume to some high schools in an effort to become a teacher. When he returned home to stay with his parents for a while he found that four high schools had already sent out letters scheduling job interviews.

Terrance blinked as he wearily rubbed his eyes; he had been reading a book with Greek myths listed in it. The story that he had turned to was of course one that concerned the Minotaur, in the story it explained how a regular man was cursed by an evil wizard to become the guard of the city. The story sounded ridiculous but he couldn't help but be enthralled by the tale, he loved the idea of a bullheaded man defending a town.

He blinked as he heard his clock chime showing that it was now three in the morning, "I let time get away from me..." Terrance muttered as he glanced at the clock, his first job interview was at nine in the morning so he decided that it was about time for him to go to bed. He closed the book and slipped under his bed sheets, his parents hadn't gotten a bigger bed for him since he was sixteen so his feet slightly cleared the edge of the bed.

Terrance blinked as he awoke, his gaze wandered slowly over his room before settling on his alarm clock. He looked at the clock for a few seconds as he registered what was showing on the clock, "Eight Fifty seven... Oh shit! I'm going to be late to my interview!" He jumped out of his bed and looked over his room in a panic, he grabbed the pressed suit that he had set on his desk the day prior and hastily pulled it on.

He ripped all of his clothes on in a rush and glanced at the devilish clock and frowned as he saw that the accursed numbers were now showing that it was nine, he cussed furiously as he ran over and grabbed his cell phone from its charger and then reached over and picked up his suitcase and sprinted down the stairs and out the front door. As Terrance cleared the front door he immediately saw that the morning traffic was in full swing, "Damn it! This is what I get for living in a fucking city!" He decided to forego his car and decided that running would be better.

Terrance sprinted down his street and turned onto the main street, as he ran down the path he swore silently under his breath as he thought about being late. As the man pelted down the sidewalk he didn't notice a hunched over old man stepping out from behind a fence, his eyes widened as he collided with the senior citizen and they both went flying into the grass.

Terrance quickly stood up and frowned as he saw grass stains on his suit, he then hastily glanced at the old man who was struggling to get up. He was about to help the elder gentleman up but then he realized that he was running out of time, "S... sorry, I have to go!" He ran off down the road, as the old man stood up an angry light appeared in his eyes.

"So run shall you after knocking me over? I think I shall teach you a lesson young man, instead of being a hazard to others why not be the protector?" As the old man spoke a mark appeared on Terrance's neck, after that the old man took on a pleasant look and walked away as if nothing had happened.

Terrance sighed heavily as he slammed his bedroom door shut behind him, his day couldn't have gone worse. When he had arrived to the first high school they had told him that he was far too late and that his time slot had been filled by another applicant, after that he had gone to his next appointment only to be turned away due to his dirtied attire.

Each of his appointments had gone terribly, now that he had returned home he couldn't wait to take off his monkey suit. Terrance started to pull off the suit but found something astonishing about his clothing, it had gone from being nice fitting that morning to be extremely tight now. He started to flex his arms and his mouth dropped in complete shock as his biceps literally ripped his sleeve, "What the fuck?" He gawked at the sleeve for a second before attempting to flex his other arm with the same results, "Since when was I the hulk?..." He muttered in utter confusion.

After much ripping of his clothes, Terrance finally collapsed on his bed in a pair of his loosest fitting shorts which now fit father nicely. He would usually question these changes but something was fogging his mind, usually the bright man had many thoughts running through his mind but it was if thinking itself was becoming a chore.

Terrance found that he could only think of base thoughts, "Hungry... tired... thirsty..." As he rolled over on his bed his feet now dangled over the edge of his bed, once more this would usually perplex him but now it was far from his thoughts. Terrance quickly slipped off into sleep, as he did so his mother called him for dinner but he was too deep in sleep to hear her calls.

In the middle of the night for the first time in years the city was completely empty; it was as if a spell had been cast upon the inhabitants of the city. Not a single soul was to be seen in the city except for one, an old man sat in the middle of the usually busy city. He seemed to be waiting for someone, he smiled as a buff shape approached him from the shadows. "Ah, there you are. I was wondering when you would get here." The old man called out, after a moment the figure entered the light revealing itself to be a disgruntled Terrance.

"W... what you do to me?" The man was able to spit out, he seemed to be struggling with something.

"Oh I've just made you stronger, albeit a bit dumber as well. All the better though, I wouldn't want my pet talking back to me." The old man said as he fingered a small ring in his hand.

Terrance shivered as his body suddenly visibly grew more muscular and his shirt ripped off, "Why you do this to me?" He called out as his shorts started to audibly tear as the seams started to rip.

The old man slowly stood up with the help of his walking stick, "Why I did this to you? Well it's really quite simple, I wasn't really looking for anyone in particular. Just someone that was in too much of a hurry to notice a new tattoo appearing on them." The old man approached the growing younger man, "Now I'd like for you to hold still for me while I give you a little gift."

Terrance's body suddenly stiffened up beyond his control, he tried to say something but found that his mouth had been frozen shut. The old man stepped up to him and held something up to his nose, after a moment his eyes widened in pain as something suddenly pierced his nose and then he suddenly felt a weight hang from it.

The old man stepped back and smiled as he looked at the newly placed golden nose ring on Terrance's nose, "Ah good, what would a Minotaur be without his signature ring?" Terrance had many questions but as if the ring was draining he found that those questions were gone as soon as they came up, he shivered as his flesh quivered and fur started to grow forth.

As the man quickly grew to become a behemoth his mental faculties were greatly diminishing by the minute, it was obvious that his growth of body was proportionate to his shrinking mental state. He winced slightly as his face pushed out into a muzzle, as his thighs grew larger and started to rip his shorts the old man muttered something and a loincloth appeared around Terrance's hips.

As Terrance became dumber his memories became less human and much more basic, his thoughts became more animalistic and more instinctual. He puffed deeply out of his nose as his tail grew out from behind him and whipped from side to side, he grunted in slight discomfort as his feet become cloven hooves.

To complete his transformation a pair of horns pushed out of his skull, Terrance started to moan in pain as they didn't push completely out. He reached up with his now much larger hands and started to tug on the horns, as he pulled harder and harder the last vestiges of his human memory disappeared.

Now a completed Minotaur he no longer needed the name Terrance so he discarded it, he looked around slowly and his eyes locked on the old man his master. The old man smiled as the Minotaur seemed to recognize him, "Good you remember your lord, give me a moment while I discard this form." The old man closed his eyes for a moment and sighed in relief as his skin and clothes changed, a moment later a young looking man wearing ancient garb stood in front of the Minotaur.

"Ah much better, I do hate the clothes of these current days. Now Minotaur I have a task for you, are you ready to receive it?" The Minotaur nodded excitedly causing his nose ring to swing rapidly, "Good, my task for you is to patrol these streets at night, and anybody that you meet I want you to bestow upon them the gift that I have done for you. Do you understand?" The Minotaur that was Terrance nodded, "Good, now go do your duty."

The Minotaur turned around and lumbered down the sidewalk his large form lumbering up the street, the young man laughed for a moment as he imagined the countless amounts of people who were going to meet up with his guard. He then turned around and walked in the opposite way of his creation, thinking of what he could do next to the pitiful beings known as humans.
