There is something to be said about a laughing child. A child's laughter is a blunt reality into their innocence. It's pure, untainted.

The sun's rays poured into the room from the small window. Amy's eyes opened slowly as she looked at the floor. A soft smile crossed her lips. Today was Saturaday, which meant she didn't have school.

She sat up and stretched. A yawn escaped her mouth. She looked down at the animals that surrounded her. Tramp lay idly on her left side. His paws stretched out before him. Fievel was on her right. It was seldom the mouse looked as peaceful as he did at that moment.

Amy grinned as she looked at the large lion form on the opposite side of Tramp. It seemed this lion towered all who lay on the bed. His chest rose as he slept.

A slight movement behind Mufusa's head caught Amy's eye. Looking in the cubby in the headboard of her bed, Amy saw the black and white Himalayan cat. The cat's yellow eyes peered out from the cubby. "Good morning, sunshine," the cat's deep female voice said.

"Mornin', Sassy," Amy responded in a whisper. "Let's not wake the boys."

"Then, don't move. For you know the moment you do, Fievel will be awake. As will Mufusa, no doubt," the cat stated as she stretched in her spot and yawned.

Amy nodded and looked from the mouse to the lion. "I suppose I can't do nothin' 'bout it. I'm hungry and I can smell Momma makin' French toast, my favourite. Maybe Mufusa will join me?"

Sassy shrugged and curled back into a ball, or at least as much of a ball as she could. She was rather large, filling the cubby almost completely.

Sliding from under Tramp's paws and easing herself from Fievel carefully, Amy crawled onto Mufusa. She entwined her fingers in his thick mane and kissed him softly on the nose. A smile crossed her lips as his eyes fluttered open. For a moment, the lion just gazed at the child who lay atop him.

Smiling, Mufusa lifted a paw and slipped it through the girl's brown hair. "How are you this morning, my dearest lady?" he asked, his deep-throated voice as soft as possible.

"I'm good. Hungry, but good. Wanna join me? Momma's makin' French toast," she said.

Mufusa smiled. "I doubt your mother wants a big lion like me joining her for breakfast. Besides, someone has to wake Tramp and the others. There is a lot to do today in the castle. Easter is coming and Princess wants to decorate."

Amy sat on top of Mufusa and clapped her hands. "I always like Princess's decorations. She makes the castle so beautiful!" she said, bouncing on Mufusa's stomach.

Laughing, the lion did his best to sit up. The girl slid down to his lap, causing him to shudder by the suddenly knowledge of her feminism. Her panties did little to hide her from him. Luckily, he was wearing shorts, for his sudden arousal astounded him.

Apparently, the girl did not notice. She got off of him and danced off the bed. She smiled at him and giggled. "I'll see you in a little, then. It's a shame you won't come and join us. I love my momma's French toast."

"I know," he said. "Just think, there'll be more for you."

Her eyes widening in delightment at that realization, Amy bounded for the door and opened it. She closed it after she stepped out.

"I think there is more to this story than meets the eye," the cat said from behind Mufusa.

"Shut up, Sassy," the lion growled. "You don't know what you are talking about."

"Uh, hello? I am married. I've seen the look in my husband's eyes when he's wanted something he can't have. It's the same look that's in yours.... She's out of your league, Mufusa. Forget about her and look to those around you for what you want out of her. You won't get it out of her," Sassy warned.

Mufusa raised an eyebrow as he turned to regard the black and white cat. She was mostly black, though her legs, tail, and muzzle were white. She had a white stripe that started at the top of her head and fell between her eyes to her muzzle and a large white spot on her back. The inside of her ears was white as well, though everything else was black. The fur on her legs and muzzle was short, while the rest of her fur was long and thick. When she laid, she preferred to wrap her bushy tail around her side.

Mufusa sighed, "I have looked around me, Sassy. Least you forget, I'm married to both Wolfie and Princess. I love them both very much. Wouldn't trade them for the world."

"Then why are you so hung up on this girl? She's little more than a child. And even still, she's from the Human World. She's not a part of us. You may make her happy now, but what about later? What about when she wants something you can't give her? Like a family? A husband of her own?" the cat said.

"I could give her a husband," Mufusa reasoned. "I could be her husband. And she has a family. She has us."

"I meant her own family, Mufusa!" Sassy yelled, startling both Tramp and Fievel. Fievel started to say something, but Sassy cut him off. "Think about what you are doing. Stop thinking about yourself and be reasonable for once, Mufusa. That girl deserves a lot more than you could ever give her. She'll never be happy with you. Not truly happy."

The lion got out of the bed and growled, "I beg to differ."

Amy sat in the dining room. Her little brother was on the opposite side. Both were contently eating their French toast while their mother cleaned the kitchen.

"So, Amy, honey," her mother called, "are you going outside today to play?"

Amy snorted. "No. Why would I want to? The boys keep chasing me everywhere and Devon's a slut."

"Amy!" her mother said, coming out of the kitchen and looking at her. Her mother was shocked by the girl's language.

"Well, it's true! You should see how she hangs all over Johnathan and Timothy. I don't wanna be around them," she said.

"Well, what about the basketball game going on in the Perrin Gym across the street?" her mother asked, wiping a dish and putting it in the cabinet.

Amy shrugged. She wasn't really too fond of basketball, but she knew it would make her mother happy to see her out the house. Perhaps she could get one of her friends to tag along? Getting up from the table, she put her dirty dishes in the sink and went to her room to change.

As she entered, she was astonished to see the excitement bustling around her. A smile crossed her face as she looked at the pastels that decorated the castle. Princess really was going out of her way to make it springtime here. Lovely tulips and irises sat in Easter egg-shaped vases.

Amy entered the throne room to see Patch gluing together paper mache' chicks and bunnies. Amy giggled, causing the Dalmation wolfdog to look up. He smiled. "How do you like the castle?" he asked.

"It's beautiful," she said. "Princess really has a creative touch."

"That she does," Patch agreed, his German heritage showing through his accent.

"Have you seen Tramp or Mufusa anywhere?" Amy asked.

The wolfdog shook his head. "Though I heard that my father was in his room. Check there and you might find both of them."

The young girl nodded her head and bid Patch a goodbye. Walking down the hallway, she came to Tramp's room and knocked on the door. A gruff voice answered, "Who is it?"

"Amy," she responded, giggling at the sudden sounds coming from the room. It sounded like Tramp was tripping over himself to get to the door.

The door opened, to reveal the proud wolf. His blue bandana that hung around his neck was in disarray. Amy giggled even more when she peeked in to see Wolfie trying desparately to unravel herself from the bedsheets.

"Looks like your busy," the girl commented.

Tramp smiled a goofy, but charming smile. "Yes, we were," he said, straightening his voice.

Amy laughed, "That's fine. I was hoping to find Mufusa Lion. You wouldn't know where he is, would you?"

Tramp looked at Wolfie.

The purple and white wolf nodded her head. "Yes. Last I checked, he was upstairs with Tracey. They were going over materials for a outfit Tracey wants to make," she said with her thick French accent.

Amy nodded and laughed at them, telling them to get back to their fun. She then went up the stairs to Tracey's room, where she finally got to Mufusa. She told Mufusa about the basketball game and he was more than happy to oblige her.

They walked across the street and entered the gates of the kindergarden/preschool. They walked up to the gym and Amy paid her fare to enter the building. She didn't think it necessary to pay Mufusa's way, for the humans couldn't see him anyway.

They took a seat at the very top of the gym and watched the game. Neither knew what teams were playing, nor did they really care who won. They just enjoyed the game and each other's company. They hooted and hollered with the audience. Amy bought some Gobstoppers and a Coke that they shared.

After the game, they returned home. Amy's mother asked how the game was, to which Amy replied, "Exciting! Thanks for the idea, Mom."

As Amy entered her room, she was truly surprised. The castle was beautifully decorated. Mufusa smiled. "Princess really knows her stuff, huh?" he commented.

Amy happily nodded her agreement. They entered the Practice Room and joined in the merriment. Amy smiled.
