needed a break from work so i let words flow from my mind to the computer.

It was beautiful. The northern lights like fire in the sky, the snow being whipped through the trees by the wind, the breathing of her wolf next to her, his heat radiating out from him keeping her warmer then any coat could, the sudden calm as midnight struck. She could hear the church bell far off in the distance, cutting through the now still night air. Moments later it was silent again and the wolf perked up his ears. Somewhere out in the darkness a wolf began his lonely howl at the full moon. Moments later other wolves joined with him. Her own wolf joining in with the pack. She just lay there in the clearing staring at the lights and listening to the sounds of the forest around her. To soon the wolves ended their midnight howl and all was silent once more. Her wolf lying down next to her. She began to scratch his back. He licked her face. Before drifting off into a peaceful sleep she whispered "Thank you." Then gently closed her eyes as the snow fell quietley around her.
