Within Escada - Chapter Six - With Everything Eternal

=======

Veronica Celeste Dynast - A 26-year-old white wolf who is assigned to Jacob in the field in Moscow. She joined Red Wolf a few years ago and was trained by Mark in the late wakes of the black matter discovery project. An exuberant member, she has climbed the ranks quite quickly for her knowledge and grasp on black matter research.

The silver fox - This mysterious figure was the primary attacker against Jacob in Moscow. His own experience with black matter could spell danger to Jacob. After the event he suffered at the square, the fox did not leave very much for Jacob and Veronica to get very much from, other than being a formidable opponent.

Since the marching band members had two hours of straight music, they could accomplish quite a lot in its span, although Alex just wanted the class to end already. Alex quickly caught up with Scott after they were released to head back to the Performing Arts building so that they would not be late for their next classes. Even as he huffed and puffed, he managed to get his point well through to the panther. "Scott, I need a favor." He said with a relaxed breath. "So where do you want to go?" The panther said with a grin. Alex stopped and was caught by surprise. He had no idea what to say to such a comment. "We could go down to Hollywood, or all the way to that new mall south of here." The panther said as he tucked his phone back into his pocket. "How did you know?" The fox inquired. "I'm smart enough to know when a guy wants to pick up on my best friend." The cat said. "Okay, let's go to the one south of here then. How about after practice tonight?" Alex said with a chuckle. Scott nodded as they passed through the double doors into the locker room. "Sure, Grant and I will be there. Okay?" Scott said. Alex nodded in agreement.

'Yes, this is great.' Alex said to himself as he lifted the snare from its harness and gently sat it into its protective case. As he closed the locker, a key individual stopped next to him, Wolfe. "Hey buddy." Wolfe said as he slipped on his jacket. "Hi Wolfe, What's up?" The fox asked. "Not very much, just waiting for you so we can go to English." The lupine stated. Alex stood in front of Wolfe and just stared at him. A smile broke out across the wolf's face. "Let's go then." Alex said as he tossed his head fur around before throwing on his black leather jacket.

They climbed the stairs to the quad and met up with the others, all of whom congregated at a table. "I have a doctor's appointment this evening at UCLA. I won't be able to go. I'm sorry." Grant whispered as Wolfe and Alex joined them. "Hey guys, ready to go?" Wolfe said as he patted Alex on the back. They all nodded and went over towards the elevators. 'What am I going to do?' Grant thought as he interlaced his paw with his mate.

Jacob closed the manhole and jumped down the ladder. Veronica was at the bottom, having removed her dress and changing into a more appropriate outfit. "Hurry up and change, we have to get out of her as soon as possible." Veronica said as she tossed Jacob a black bag. "I would believe so. Did they provide more ammunition?" Jacob said as he laid his sword on the ground beneath his feet. "At least enough to get us out if we are cornered." She said as she opened a silver case filled with boxes of 35mm shells. "Got to love Uroso." The lupine said as he fished out a gun of his own and slipped it into his holster with the other pistol. They were standing in a dark tunnel, its eerie noises echoing off the long expanse of tunnels. Slowly, Jacob and Veronica began to tread through the waterway toward the rendezvous point. Jacob withdrew his pistol and held up a flashlight to see ahead while Veronica covered the rear. Silence fell between them as they slowly crept down the endless maze of tunnels that seemed to go on forever. "So how much farther do we have to go?" Jacob asked his female counterpart. "A few more turns and then it's a straight away into a field. A chopper will arrive shortly after we send a beacon." Veronica stated. "I see." Jacob said as the lupine led him past one more turn that soon opened into a more open expanse of tunnel. Veronica turned her head back toward the rear. Jacob began to see a faint light appear over in the horizon. The moon had begun to settle and cast a white glow across the field. "We should be clear now." Veronica said as she readied a flare gun. After she shot the red flare into the sky, a large hum emanated, growing closer as it ascended on them. "Looks like our ride out of here is right on time." Jacob said as he stretched and let out a sigh.

Most of the day flew by in a breeze. Wolfe and Alex spent most of the day talking to one another and ignoring their friends. They didn't mind; the others were happy that Wolfe had found someone he connected with so well. The day left Wolfe and Alex even closer together than they would realize, even as Wolfe had a sense of uneasiness with what he thought of Alex. "So when we proceed onto the field there is a salute that all of the captains do along with me to the press box." Wolfe said as the two left their last class for the day. "I have heard of that. All you do is ball up your left fist as a signal, right?" The fox asked. Wolfe nodded in agreement, then smiled. Alex smiled back.

At the front of the parking lot awaited Scott, Grant, and Jessica. They waited patiently as they made conversation with one another. "So do you think they may end up together?" Grant whispered. "Totally, just look at them." Jessica said as she looked toward the approaching couple, prospectively. Wolfe and Alex were walking next to each other speaking in German with one another and laughing. "It seems to get better and better every day." Scott said as he squeezed Grant's paw. Grant stood silent; he didn't even acknowledge Scott's motion. Scott looked up toward him and tugged his arm.

"Exactly." Alex said as he and the lupine approached the others. "So, what's the plan?" Jessica said as she picked her bag up and tossed it over her shoulder. "I don't know. I was thinking about going to the mall." Alex said as he looked over towards Scott. Scott nodded; he then looked over toward the ursine. He stood silent, not a single response made. "Grant?" Wolfe said as he waved his hand in front of the bear. "Sorry, I have a doctor's appointment." He said as he picked up his own bag. "You never told me about that." Scott said with a look of concern. "I'm sorry. I forgot to tell you." Grant said. "Oh, okay. So you're not coming with us?" The cat asked. Grant shook his head no. He tried to remain as covert as possible, holding back anything that could hint toward anything. "Okay... so then where to?" Jessica said as she tried to shift the mood. "Hollywood sounds best." Wolfe said as he jingled his keys.

Alex and Jessica agreed with a simple gesture, Scott remained uneasy. Wolfe waited for a response, something was going on and he knew whom it was coming from. "I'll see you all tomorrow." Grant said as he walked away. Scott stood still as his mate turned away without as much as a goodbye. Jessica moved next to him and grabbed his paw; they stood together, all knowing that something was not right.

Grant stood in an elevator at The University of California Los Angeles Medical Center as he waited for it to reach the fifth floor. He held in his paw a large medical file, its color-coded stickers being all too familiar to him. When he reached the floor he was to get off, he took a deep breath and stepped away from the car. As he moved his way through the lobby, the receptionist greeted him. "Hello, how are you today?" A giraffe inquired from behind her computer as he walked to the reception desk outside of the elevator. "I'm here for a 6:30 appointment with Dr. Townsend." Grant said as he ignored her question of how he was feeling. "Okay, please be seated and we'll call you in." She said as she resumed punching keys in the computer. Grant turned and moved to the farthest available seat. He opened the file he held and read a highlighted section on the first sheet.

'MRI scan shows increased mass growth along the front temporal lobe, a tumor. An increase in plaque buildup has been noted along the cerebellum and along C3-5 of the spine. A front temporal lobe biopsy and has been found positive for malignancy.'

Grant began to well up in tears as he closed the file and tried to hide his sorrow. He sobbed as quiet as he could; the thought of how long he had left to live driving him into a downward spiral. "Grant?" A familiar voice said to him. "I'm over here." He said as he looked up to see whom the voice came from. Grant's parents quickly came to comfort their son, William and Denise, his father and mother trying to console him as they too began to cry themselves. "Grant Anderson." The doctor called to him. Grant quickly regained his composure and stood up. Handing his father the file, he took his parents paws and followed the doctor to his office.

"Hello everyone, please take a seat." The large eagle said as he handed over a box of tissues. They all took one and wiped the last of their tears. As they all sat quietly, the doctor flipped through Grant's file and compared it to a report he had on his desk. "So what are my options?" Grant asked after a long silence. "Well, the only problem now is that the tumor has enlarged and is now pressing into the cortex. It's uncertain at this point as to how much we can do since the MRI you had done yesterday show's substantial growth compared to the last MRI you had in May." The doctor said as he closed the file. William looked at his son in despair as it dawned on him of the twisted scheme life has dealt. Dennis reached for Grants paw as they sat together in the office. "So... Exactly what can we do and for how long do I have left?" Grant calmly said.

Denise could not hold back any longer, she broke into tears as she clutched her son in her arms. "Why God? Why my son?" She shouted as she held Grant forcefully to herself. Grant embraced his mother; what was once the strongest woman he knew was now demanding for his salvation. "Mom... we have to find out eventually. I don't want to feel like I'm going to just drop dead at anytime." Grant said coldly as he looked toward his father. William had nothing to say as he buried his head in his paws. Dr. Townsend fidgeted as he tried to form his next statement. "We can start you on chemotherapy. The issue we have is that there is no way to pinpoint how long you will have. Chemo will at least buy you more time." The bird said as he took off his glasses. Grant let out a sigh. So many lost times will come now that his untimely death could be just around the bend, "So when can we start?" He said as he flung a single tear from his eye.

Scott sat in the back seat of Wolfe's car silently with Jessica holding his hand. They had just picked up Alex from his house, who actually lived a good mile and a half away from Wolfe. The furs sat quietly as they drove, no music was playing, no exchanging of words. Alex turned in the front seat to face Scott, reaching for his free paw. "Scott... is there anything we can do?" Alex said as he tried to comfort the panther. "I wish I could say what the problem is. Grant has been pushing me away all day since we got to school. He seemed fine this morning, but on the drive here he seemed shut down." The cat said solemnly. Wolfe pulled into the interstate; he accelerated to the required speed and settled into fifth gear. "Maybe he just doesn't feel well. He did say he had a doctor's appointment." Jessica said as she petted the panther's ears to comfort him. "Still, I feel that it has to be something else. I'm as lost as to what is wrong." Scott said as he began to cry. Wolfe reached out his paw and took hold of his best friend. Scott took it, the lupine squeezing it tight. Jessica brought Scott into an embrace, the only comfort she could provide. "Wolfe, how far away are we from Hollywood?" Alex asked as he turned back in his seat. "Only a few more miles away, we should be there in a few minutes." The wolf said as he returned his paw back to the shifter.

As the Mustang pulled into the parking lot, Wolfe began to search for a parking spot. Alex reached back to Scott and smiled. "Please cheer up Scott; I'm sure that whatever is the issue with Grant will fix its self. Murphy's law my friend, it will be okay." Alex said in a calm voice. Scott looked up and smiled at the fox. "Okay, here we are." Jessica said as the lupine turned off the vehicle. They all climbed out of the car and slowly made their way over to the entrance. Alex turned around and tugged Scott's shirt, he only wanted to make sure that Scott was going to help him. Scott smiled at him in reassurance. "Who else feels we should get some new clothes?" Wolfe said as he made the motion towards a nearby clothing store. "I think that would be in order." Scott said as he linked his arms around those of Wolfe and Alex. Jessica smiled as she grabbed hold Alex's tail. "Mush!" She shouted as the furs slowly picked up a pace to the store. Alex felt wonderful, never in his life has he made friends so quickly who accepted him as a member of 'the gang'. He looked over toward Wolfe, a smile breaking over his maw as he saw the joy in the lupine's eyes.

"Whoa team. Good boys." The fox said as she pulled back on the other fox's tail. The three looked back at her with a cold stare. "Look at this!" Alex exclaimed as he ran over to a finely knit sweater. Wolfe looked over in a flash of a second, trying to absorb whatever he could of Alex. As the others all went their separate ways, Wolfe made sure to keep close, but not too close, to Alex as the fox pulled stuff off of the racks and slung them over his arm. "Hey Wolfe, help me out here." Jessica called as she looked over a few of the articles on the wall. Wolfe trotted over to the fox; he paid no attention to the sneaky cat slipping toward Alex. Alex and Scott whispered quietly to one another, quickly rummaging through the stack of clothing that Alex had picked up. "Go try on these together. That wolf has a thing for well dressed furs." Scott said as he pushed Alex along toward the changing rooms. Alex went to the first available room and shut the door. Scott had put together three items: a finely woven Blue shirt with grey strips, a black shirt that fit well on his frame, and a good pair of Levis. He slowly buttoned the shirt as he heard a knock on the door. "Open the door." The panther said as he impatiently waited for his demand to be made. Alex removed the sliding bar and was soon met with a glare. "That won't do. Here, let's get you out of this." Scott said as he hung up a different shirt and turned to undress the fox. Scott worked quickly and stripped Alex to nothing but his underwear. The fox was terrified, he had no idea what to think or do. "I'm only doing this because of that wolf. Don't think anything of it." Scott said as he pulled a shirt over the fox and then motioned for the fox to put on the jeans he was originally given.

As this scene was going on, Wolfe and Jessica were making their way to the changing room. Jessica was about to take the room next to Alex's as they heard a loud thump. "God damn it Alex. Why do I have to dress you? You're not a kit. Did you live in a cave?" Scott exclaimed as another thump was heard. "No I did not. I'm sorry; I just have bad fashion sense." The fox said as an apology. Wolfe and Jessica smiled as they heard the lock came undone. Quickly they dashed to another side of the area and hid just behind a rack for unwanted clothing. "Obviously... This won't do either. I'll be back. You stay here." Scott stated as he opened the door. "Yes sir." Alex said as he started to remove his shirt and hang it back up on a hanger. "Why is it that I have to be the gay makeover guy every time I go shopping? Jeeze..." The panther said as he rummaged through another clothing rack.

"Jessica, is Scott doing it again?" Wolfe said in a whisper. "Well we all know why." Jessica said as she jabbed the lupine in the ribs. Wolfe smiled as he recoiled from the hit. He knew exactly what happened, Alex asked for Scott's help. Jessica moved from behind the rack and into a room, she handed Wolfe her purse before she giggled. Wolfe jumped; he didn't realize that he was staring at the door from which the fox stood behind. After a brief fantasy, the lupine returned to the sales floor and began to search around for something to wear. With a gallop, Scott returned with what he believed was the best outfit he could put together. "Here you go. This is going to be the one." The panther said as he slinked into the small room. Alex's eyes lit up as he saw what the panther had chosen for him.

Jacob and Veronica were sitting in a small office in a busy section of London; the hours seemed to dole like slow moving traffic as one after one, they were briefing the situation in Moscow to various furs. The wolves began to grow tiered of the continuous banter of the same story. After what seemed like forever, Jacob and Veronica were let go to return from where they came from. "I thought that was never going to end." Veronica said as she waited with Jacob in the lobby. "Yeah I know. I can't stand those reports we have to give to the mission control. I just want to get home and sleep." Jacob said as he stretched. "I hear you on that." Veronica said as a moose came forward to them. "Here are your tickets. The flight back to the States is leaving in two hours." He said as he handed each of them a ticket booklet. "Well, it looks like it is time to head out." Jacob said as he picked up his bag. "Looks like it. I guess we'll see each other another day." Veronica said as she picked up her own bag. "My guess is that the case is still open about that silver fox. He's going to be on the next hit list by tomorrow night." Jacob said as he slipped the metal clip tie onto his pocket. "Then I should see you again soon Jacob." Veronica said as she turned away and went through the double glass doors. "Until then Veronica." The wolf said as he stood in place.

Mark sat at Red Wolf head quarters flipping through various reports on his desk. He came across intelligence regarding the Moscow assignment that Jacob had been assigned. Since it was fresh of the press, he took a moment to read the overall specifications.

'After a grueling battle, the mysterious silver fox vanished before agents had a chance to stop him. With the intelligence that has been gathered since then, he has spotted in an airport terminal in Tokyo, Japan. However, the field team was not able to track him further due to an electromagnetic field that shut down more than half of Japan for three hours. Our beliefs are that this fox caught on to our eyes and used this as a diversion. No further intelligence has been generated to track his current location.'

Mark set the file down and leaned back in his chair. 'Where could he have gone?' He thought before his phone buzzed in his pocket. The lion reached into his pocket and opened it. A small icon showed that he received a new message; upon investigation of it he found it was from Jacob.

'Hey Mark, I'm on my way back. I should be home at about 6:00 AM as long as there are no delays. Love, Jacob.'

Mark closed his phone and smiled.

After many hours of shopping and having fun, the group decided it was time to retire for the evening. As they loaded the bags of garments into the trunk, Alex called Wolfe over to help him with the final bags. "Thanks for taking me along Wolfe. I had a lot of fun." Alex said as he closed the trunk. "It's nothing my friend. I wanted to get out today and I too had a lot of fun." The lupine said as he tossed his keys in the air and walked toward the driver's door, winking at Alex. Alex smiled, having caught Wolfe's gesture, as he climbed into the car that would take him home. As they were led away from Hollywood, Scott let out a yawn and made himself comfortable in his seat. Jessica and Alex did the same, slowly falling asleep as Wolfe sang to himself.

After an hour and a half, Wolfe pulled up to Alex's house. As he turned to face Alex, he saw something to sweet to disturb. In the passenger seat was Alex; he was balled up into himself holding his jacket together for warmth. He sat back in his seat, turned on the heater, and looked back toward the fox. As he stared warmly at Alex, something caught his eye. In the pocket of the fox's jacket was a folded piece of paper. Wolfe being curious carefully removed it from Alex's pocket and slowly unfolded it.

'Wolfe,

I am not sure how I can explain myself to you. I have been slowly falling in love with you, which, if you haven't figured out by now, I'm gay. I don't hide it, I just don't tell everyone. I feel so much better when am around you, like the sun breaking through clouds on a rainy day. I don't want you to feel like I'm a stalker or anything. I just like you. I would hope you don't think any less of me. Just promise me that you will always be my friend.

With everything eternal, Alex'

Wolfe sunk back into his seat as he folded the paper back up and carefully put it back into Alex's pocket. 'Well at least one of my questions is answered. But, what do I do now?' The lupine thought as he brought his paws to his face, his mind-running wild with thoughts Wolfe had been running against himself in this race for answers. However, he didn't think that his answers would be answered in a small paragraph. As the lupine sat in thought, Alex stirred in his place and began to wake up. He looked out the window with sleep still bearing on him until he realized where he was. "How long have we been here?" Alex said quietly to the wolf. "About ten minutes now." Wolfe said as he brought his paws down and looked over to the fox. Alex sat up straight and fixed his jacket, he then looked over towards Wolfe. A silence stood between them like a brick of lead: they both had a lot to say but could not form any words to express themselves. The fox then faced forward feeling anxious yet timid. Wolfe looked at the dashboard and turned the heater off since the car was now stuffy.

"Wolfe," Alex finally said, "Can I ask you something?" "Yes." The wolf said as he focused his attention toward the fox. "Can I have a hug?" The fox said waiting for a strike. "Well if you want one come here." The lupine said as he stretched his arms out to the fox. Alex smiled and brought himself into an embrace with the wolf. Wolfe sighed as he took in the scent of the fox as Alex did the same of the wolf. They sat just holding each other, silence in the background with the exception of an engine slowly humming. Wolfe, trying to see what would happen, brought Alex into a tighter embrace that was soon equally matched. "Wolfe, I have a confession." Alex said while his head rested on the wolf's shoulder. "So do I Alex." Wolfe said as he pulled Alex away from him to see him face to face. They stared at one another, looking deep into one another's eyes. Their smoke-blue eyes gazed into one another's souls; each looking for a single answer.

As in a silent agreement, the two furs moved into one another, their maws meeting in a passionate kiss. Wolfe brought the fox in closer to himself, holding him as he traced the inside of the fox's mouth. Alex returned the passion as he wrapped his arms around the wolf elegantly. They continued, running their paws along one another as the new sensations drove their emotions further. Soon feeling they set their feelings into stone, they broke apart. "Wolfe, uh..." Alex said, unable to finish his reply. "Don't worry about it. We don't have to go fast or anything. But, you didn't have to hide anything from me." The lupine said as he took the fox's paw. Alex smiled as he lightly squeezed the wolf's paw. Wolfe nodded in agreement, as he looked over to the clock on his cluster panel. "I guess it is late. I'll see you tomorrow Wolfe." The fox said as he leaned over and kissed Wolfe on the cheek. Wolfe smiled at the gesture as he released Alex's paw and pushed the trunk release button. Watching the fox skip out from behind the car and up to his front door, he pulled out his cell phone and quickly sent a text message. Before Alex turned to go inside, he looked back at the wolf. 'With everything eternal.' He mouthed to the lupine. Wolfe smiled and waved goodbye as he then rolled down the driveway and made his way home.

As Alex sunk down the back of the door, his phone began to vibrate. He pulled out his cell phone and looked at the screen, a text message.

'With everything eternal, Wolfe.'

Alex smiled as he looked at the sender, Wolfe. He then grabbed his bags and climbed the stairs to his room. Flipping on the light switch, he tossed the bags to the floor and jumped onto his bed. Holding one of his pillows close to himself, he sighed, how a fun day turned into a perfect one he did not know. He then stood up and stripped out of his clothes and into some more suitable attire for sleeping. As he toggled the lever to the off position, he climbed back into bed, falling asleep in content.

Mark's alarm clock rang at four in the morning the next day. He climbed out of bed and stretched with a yawn before proceeding to the bathroom to do his normal elimination, as every fur does. He then looked over toward his window; he looked over to see if Wolfe's Mustang was in the driveway. He found it right where he thought it would be. 'Well he did get home at almost midnight.' Mark said as he opened his dresser and grabbed miscellaneous garments. He reached the bathroom and grabbed his towel from the rack next to the door. After cleaning himself up and getting his self into some clothing, he proceeded down the stairs to head off to Los Angeles International Airport. When he reached the bottom of the stairs he found Wolfe asleep on the couch, sprawled in what looked like a very uncomfortable position. 'These dogs... Might as well take him upstairs.' Mark said as he carefully picked up the pup and took him up to his room. After closing the door slowly, he tipped toed down the stairs and made his way to the front door. He climbed into his car and started the engine, its sound being heard through the entire neighborhood that lay in quiet. As he pulled into the interstate, he let the ponies under the hood come to life.

As the engine turned, his phone rang. Reaching into his shirt pocket, he fished it out. "Hello this is Mark." He answered. "Well where are you handsome?" Jacob said on the other side. "You're already there?" The lion inquired. "Yeah, we were ahead of schedule. So how was Wolfe's first day of school?" Jacob asked.

Wolfe woke up before he was supposed to, although he was surprised to find himself in his bed. Taking note that it must have been Mark who moved him, he climbed out of bed and quickly sifted through the bags of clothing he had purchased the night before. 'Hmm... what to wear...' He thought as he pulled together his day's outfit. Being content with his decision, he moved to the bathroom and took a shower.

As he bathed, he thought of the night before and Alex. He grew hard at the thought of the fox, his swelling pride aching in his loins. He began to caress himself teasing his gland from his sheath and stroking it gently to thoughts of the fox. He couldn't hold off for very long, the arousing images of the Alex and the devious deeds they could do with one another pushing his climax to its edge. He cam hard, shooting his seed against the far wall of the shower. As he regained his composure he stroked his knot, its swollen bulb aching as he teased it along. He began to lightly thrust into his own hand, feeling ready for a second round of pleasure. He started slow, building a pace as he imagined the fox begging him for more of his throbbing cock. With twice as much force, he shot his nectar in the air, coating his fur in its viscous glue.

Wolfe breathed heavy for a long time, taking in the scent of his musk that was flooding his senses. He slowly regained his grounds as his knot shrunk and his member receded back in to his sheath. As he lathered his fur to remove the remains of his seed, he finished bathing and stepped out, reaching for his towel on the counter. 'What about my head fur?' The lupine thought as he reached for a comb. After deciding what he would do, he trotted into his room and began to put on the clothes he chose for the day. Running a product in his head fur to hold his style, he then brushed his teeth, put on his contacts, and sprayed a small amount of cologne on himself. By now, it was time to go get Jessica and Scott. As he gathered his accessories, he found he had received a text message.

'Grant is going to pick Jessica and I up today. See you at school.'

'Well that's a bummer.' Wolfe thought as he decided to climb down the stairs and snag a quick bite to eat.

When he reached the kitchen, he could hear pots and a pan clunking together, Mark was cooking. "Hey son, how are you?" Jacob said with open arms. "I'm good Dad. How was your trip?" The younger wolf said as he met his father's embrace. "Wonderful. Lots of business stuff of course. So who's the guy?" Jacob stated. Wolfe was caught off guard; he stood with his mouth agape as he tried to understand what the situation. "Come on Wolfe, you can tell me. It's not like I'm mad." Jacob said as he motioned for the wolf to sit next to him. "Don't worry Wolfe. It's nothing bad." Mark said in reassurance as he flipped an omelet into the air. Wolfe sat on the stool, tucking his tail underneath himself in fear. He looked for an escape but he was too late as Mark took a seat next to him. "Son, you know I could care less of anything you decide to do in your life. As long as you are safe then I am happy." Jacob said as he rubbed his paw along Wolfe's back. "I just didn't think you were going to find out all on your own." Wolfe said to his father. "Wolfe, I think I have known about you for a few months now." Jacob said as he patted the younger lupine on the head. Wolfe smiled and gave his father a hug, a weight being taken off his shoulders. Mark smiled as he saw the younger lupine relax and be at ease.

"So Wolfe, nice outfit." Mark said as he pulled on Wolfe's collar. "Yeah son, who would think that you have better fashion sense then Mark." Jacob said with a grin. "Hey, I recall someone having no idea what to wear last week to the exposition. Who would wear pink with khaki?" Mark said as he went to prepare the plates. Jacob stuck his tongue out to Mark and nudged Wolfe looking for his support. "Sorry Dad, I'm siding with Mark on this one. You of all people should know better." Wolfe said as he got up from the stool to get a glass of orange juice. "Oh forget you both, I looked good." Jacob stated. "Like a soccer mom, you added a sweater to it." Mark said before he began laughing hysterically. Wolfe and Mark laughed as Jacob sat on the stool giving an evil glare to them both. "Oh come on Dad. You probably looked ridiculous." Wolfe said as he gave his dad a hug. "Whatever... You guys suck." Jacob said as he returned the young lupine's hug. Mark smiled as he laid down three plates full of food. "Breakfast is served!" Mark exclaimed in a feminine tone.

Wolfe sat on the hood of his car waiting for the rest of his crew to arrive. He was flipping through his music on his iPod as he heard a motorcycle approaching. Alex turned to a stop in the area for his bike and climbed off from it. He put his helmet away in the lockers nearby and walked slowly toward Wolfe. As the fox approached, he pulled his headphones off and put the whole deal in his backpack. "Hey there." Alex said shyly. "Guten morgen. Wie geht es dir?" (Good morning. How are you?) Wolfe said to the fox as he climbed off the hood of his car. "Itch bin gut." (I am good.) Alex said as he stopped in front of the wolf. Letting emotions take hold, they joined in an embrace, followed by a kiss. As they broke apart, they smiled at one another, the sense of peace among one another settling in. "Well look at you two!" A voice said from the elevators. Both Wolfe and Alex turned sharply to see Scott, Grant, and Jessica with huge grins upon their faces. They turned towards the elevators as they all giggled among themselves. "Ich vermute, die Katze ist aus dem Sack." (I guess the cat is out of the bag.) Wolfe said to Alex as he wrapped his arm around the fox. "Wie würde ich wirklich." (Like I would really care.) Alex replied as he put his own arm around Wolfe.

The elevator ride and walk to the Performing Arts Building was filled with questions, the five of them going back and forth over the now Wolfe and Alex. Wolfe just replied with a smile to everything. Alex was conversing with the others as to the image. When they went their separate ways, Jessica and Grant went over to their usual spot to chat and have coffee. "Well that was fun." Alex said to the lupine as he broke away to go to his locker. Wolfe quickly spun himself around to the fox and gave him a brief kiss before stepping away. "It's always fun." Wolfe said as he disappeared behind a door.

The five sat in English class as the professor reviewed with them the basics for putting together a Works Cited page. Professor Oflor droned on and on as many of the students started to 'bob' up and down as if they were sitting on the water held by a fishing line. "Now let's have someone come up and write on the board an example of a reference. Wolfe, come down here." Professor Oflor said. Wolfe made his way slowly down the stacked rows to the front of the room. Picking up a marker, he wrote out an example using one of the texts on the teacher's desk. "Wonderful, this is exactly what is required. You may be seated Wolfe." The raccoon stated. Wolfe made his way back to his seat and reopened his book that he was reading under his desk. "Let's have another example just to reinforce this example. We'll have an Internet example this time. Hmm... Grant come down here and shows us what should be done." The coon asked.

Grant got out of his chair and proceeded down the steps. Half way down, the ursine collapsed and fell down the steps. Screams were soon numerous as the teacher ran over to the bear. "Grant!" Scott exclaimed as he leapt over his desk toward the ursine. "Someone call 911. He isn't breathing." The professor shouted as he turned the bear over, no pulse being felt or heard. Everyone began shouting as students began to cause a commotion. Wolfe ran down the steps as fast as he could, he then motioned the professor to perform CPR. After a few moments of commotion and one student calling out that emergency services were on the way, the wolf felt along the bears neck. "There is a faint pulse but we're not out of the woods yet." The lupine said as he helped the professor with Grant. "Grant..." Scott said as he held his love's paw, tears streaming down his face.
