#1 of Creepy Fur

This is a small project I will be writing for a while, just so I can get used to writing again. So please, enjoy :)

Warning- Not for the feint of heart, elderly, small children or anybody in general cuz its so freaky, run while you still can.

None of these stories are related to each other, they are all independent unless stated.

I had just begun my summer job as a baby sitter. It was always a great job. I met a lot of good people, a lot of fun kids that I would play games almost endlessly with. But there was this one house that will never forget.

I stood in the doorway of the 2 story house in the southern most area of Florida. It was a beautiful house, resting just half a mile from the amazing view of the ocean. Just a quick walk would bring you to the sandy shore and back. There were 3 children beside me, I knew none of their names but planned to learn them moments later. A car filled with their parents slowly drove off. I was just there for 5 short minutes and already learned they were a very nice family. Always caring, they offered me whatever they thought I would need. I always said I was fine, I needed nothing, as I carried a small bag. It was filled with toys, games, anything I would need. But there was one thing I never took out of that bag. A small pistol, barely enough to kill someone. I kept it there because there have been a series of insane murders, all leading to no criminal, no evidence, nothing wrong, really. Just a dead body. No signs of struggling, panic, or even a fight back. No noises, no... anything. I couldn't bare the thought. It made me clench my teeth at the idea someone could be able to leave no sign of anything.

"You guys ready to have a bit of fun before you have to go to sleep?" I asked smiling at the short furs. I locked the door with everything I could. I didn't want these children to get hurt.

"Yeah!" They all yelled, almost simultaneously. I checked the windows, all locked securely. The parents told me those were the only possible entrances, so I just let it slip from my mind for the moment.

"So, want are all your names?" I said, lifting the smallest, a girl, onto my knee and smiling. There were 2 boys, of age 14 and 16, and a girl, only 8 years old. Children always warmed my heart. Such youth, innocence, the perfect life, really. So kind, nice... vulnerable. They were all tigers, but a beautiful light-orange instead of the usual orange I love seeing on my boyfriend. It was a beautiful combo with black, even more so than regular orange. They each had green eyes, one almost as tall as me, but the other 2 much shorter.

"I'm Sam." The younger boy said. "I'm Allen." The older boy said. "And I am Anna." The young girl said with a smile.

"Well, I have a few fun things for you tonight." I said, pulling some things out of my bag. A football, a baseball, a few board games, and a few more random items I thought were fun. I sometimes kept an Xbox, but only when I could get someone to let me borrow it for the kids. I didn't have it that day. There faces lit up as I pulled everything out of the bag, leaving the pistol and wrapping it tightly in the bag. Their young, glistening eyes were drawn to all the toys, but mine, as I wish they werent to this day, were drawn to the window, distracted by a small figure on the small patch of grass that all the houses in the area had. One thing stuck out amongst the flowers and various bikes. A small garden gnome peered into the window. Small, white beard, the stereotipical garden gnome. It was a bit different, it's eyes seemed real, peering straight through to infinity, not focused on any one thing. It creeped me out a bit, but I ignored it. There had always been a tale that people's spirits were trapped in the moulded figure of the gnomes, placed on the lawn for good luck. The gnomes would attack innocent people, trying to gain the use of their bodies, trapping the poor soul that gets attacked inside the ceramic figure. It scared me to think about it. That, my friends, is where things began to go wrong. The idea of that thing now dismissed from my mind I asked them what they wanted to do first. Their decision was unanimous.

"This one!" They held up a single board game. It was a childhood favorite of mine, so I was very happy. I set up the board game and took one last peek at the gnome. I could've sworn it was closer, ever so slightly, to the window, it's line of sight was now looking straight inside the window. I didn't know how right I was.

After 2 hours of games, the children were sleepy. The girl, Anna, was already asleep, the dice to the game were in her hand, almost falling out. Her head tilted to the side. I picked her up and tucked her into her bed. Her peaceful eyes resting easily. A small smile lay across her face. I heard a small ceramic *thump* come from outside. I didn't pay attention to it, I just returned to the other 2. How foolish I was. I regret that entire day.

I rubbed the two boys' heads and asked. "What do you want to do now, you still have an hour." They wanted to go outside. It was still very light, it looked almost as if it were noon. But the sun was low in the sky. I let them out of the house and sat on the front porch. I smiled as they ran across the small yard, running after each other. It was almost dark until I heard another ceramic *thump*. I hated that I didn't know what it was, but it wasn't my right to roam around their house searching for it.

I brought the two back in, making extra sure to re-lock the door. A quick glance revealed the gnome outside the window. This time, I was absolutely sure the damned thing moved. Now, there were two of them, only 1 foot from the window. Staring in. There eyes directed at me. I could feel their menacing gaze, just peering straight through me. It creeped me out way too much. "Boys, did you move that garden gnome out there?" I pointed straight at the window, but they both shook their heads. *Ring!* The phone rang and I gave a large jump. The boys laughed but I picked up the phone. "Hello?" I asked, the parents' voices came over the phone. "Hey Mike, everything going ok?" they asked sincerely. "Almost, the children are amazing but your garden gnome is creeping me out, I swear it keeps moving..." I said in a low voice, not to alert the kids. There was a brief silence over the phone. Until the kids' mother's voice came over the phone again.

"Mike, take the kids and get out of the house. NOW." She yelled over the phone. "Why?" I asked hastely. "We don't own a garden gnome."

I looked straight out the window, the gnome now less than an inch away from the glass of the window. It's hand raised creepily as if it were tapping the glass. I dropped the phone and could hear voices still coming out of it, but I was focused to hard on the gnome. I ran to my bag and grabbed the pistol and fired off a shot. *Bang* straight at the gnome, shattering the glass. The kids ran to my side, the girl now awake. The gnome was unmarked, not even a scratch. I fired off a few more shots. Nothing. The gnome let out a laugh. No ordinary laugh, this laugh was the most creepy I have ever heard. I grabbed the kids, picking them up, and kicked at the door, it falling in just 2 kicks. I ran to my car and drove back to my house. Running down to the small basement.

It was just a small basement, it was only a few feet wide, a few long. The kids were crowded around me as I locked the solid iron door and sat in the dark. I hugged them all closely. I knew they were out there, waiting. I could here their laughter. Repeating over and over. Slowly maddening me. But one laugh was louder, so loud it sounded like it was right in my ear.

"It's ok, little gnome, don't cry. The mean gnomes won't get you." Anna said. My heart sank as I felt a ceramic hand slide along my arm. "Just relax, gnomey, it will all be over soon." I heard one last laugh... and then... nothing.

I hope you liked my new series, I will try to post one as often as I can. Love ya all.
