Just a short story that i worked on with someone.

Savel was at the edge of the treeline that surrounded the clearing. From where he stood, he could see a creature standing in the clearing, The Aspens Creating a shadow, making it hard to make out what kind of creature it was. He slowly approached the creature, keeping low to the ground, muscles all tense, getting ready to either fight or flight. He got within ear shot, and his Silver ears were on the swivel, listening for any sound of an ambush, but all he could hear were the trees crackling, and the wind blowing.

Phenome trotted into a small clearing surrounded by thin trunked aspen trees. A slight breeze ruffled the silent night air, disturbing the eerie calm that had taken place all around her. The tree branches wailed as the wind whipped them around, making boisterous clacking and whooshing as they spun and banged against each other. With clumsy, circular paws Phenome walked against the wind, blowing her midnight black fur all around her face and body. The silver flecks glowed in the moonlight that shrouded the clearing, and illuminated a large black figure at the edge of the clearing. Hissing, Phenome dropped into a low crouch and growled through her clenched razor sharp teeth "Who are you? Show yourself!"

Savel stopped moving and his silver fur stood on end at the base of his neck. He stopped moving when he realized that it was a female that he was with," I'm over here... My names Savel... Who are you?" Even though he seemed relaxed, his body was all tense and his was ready to either run, or fight.

Phenome tensed her shoulders, shifting the muscles heavily. She raised a paw and pointed it straight at Savel, extending pitch black claws and saying quietly "No means for trouble, but you are invading my hunt, friend. I would normally expect you to help me hunt, but I am feeling pitifully merciless. Come here, or you will be forced." She smiled a devious grin, thinking to herself ~What shall I do with my little...Plaything?~ She giggled to herself, a high pitched sound that pierced the night air like a javelin being thrown into a sheet of darkness.

Savel slowly walked further into the clearing, his glowing yellow eyes scanning the treeline, as well as the female in front of him. He stopped when she giggled a high pitched sound. He thought to himself ~ well, this is going to be fun......~ He stood infront of her, muscles tense and ready to fight his way out if need be.

Phenome halted her devilish laugh and began to circle the young creature. She said in a voice that portrayed her utter surprise "You actually came out. Surprising for a young male." Thinking to herself ~Hmm...I am clearly larger than he. A bit less muscular, but it will do. What will I do with him? Let's see if this scares him.~ She suddenly switched to an entirely different personality, a habit of mind she had come to develop quite well. "Why, how do you do? The name is Phenome, what's yours?" She smiled happily, and watched Savel for any response of terror or confusion, laughing to herself.

Savel's head turned as this female circled him, possibly checking him out to see if he will serve as a problem if things got bad. He smiled when she spoke to him," Yeah, I tend to get that alot..." When she next spoke, Savel was slightly confused, but he quickly hid it," um... i'm doing fine and yourself? Nice to meet you Phenome, my names Savel." He smiled back at her, confused and anxious, he thought to himself, ~ what the hell? Who is this girl? ~

Phenome smiled and said "Your confused. Moment of weakness, exposed. Right shoulder kick with left paw, thrust into dust and expose stomach. Rake claws down chest and bite into shoulder. Damage will cause major wounds, blood flow approximately eighteen milligrams per second. Opponent will pounce, dodge pounce and climb onto back. Claw at the neck and hopefully deliver a major pummeling to the stomach." Phenome growled, a low throaty sound, and leaped, doing just as she had said. She raised her left hind leg and thrust out, knocking Savel into the dust in front of her. She charged, her clumsy paws thundering across hardened winter ground and she raced for Savels stomach, attempting to rake her claws into it.

Before Savel could even decipher what she was saying, he got kicked to the ground, and landed on his back. The next thing he knew, she was charging at him, aiming to injure him. He rolled to the right, and quickly got up. He spun around and bared his fangs and growled threateningly, ~ what the hell? I did nothing to her, and she's attacking me?~ He stood his ground and waited for her to get close, then at the moment that they would've collided, Savel crouched and jumped into the air and did a frontflip, landing behind her in a crouch and facing her," Sorry, but I will not fight you, I will never fight a girl..." Savel stood at the ready, awaiting her reaction.

Phenome laughed and said "But I am not afraid to fight a male dear. I would suggest...." Phenome sighed and lowered her piercing blue eyes to stare at the dust. "Well, you're no fun, are you?" she huffed out an exhaling breath, her shoulders rising and falling in a steady tempo. "I was just looking for a little fun. I guess I can find someone else..." Phenome turned away, and padded to the edge of the clearing, thinking ~what a stick in the mud. I expected a younger male to be a little more...enjoyable. ~ She flopped down into the bushes and laid her head gently on her paws. "I guess he's just boring.... Oh well."

Savel stood there with his head tilted to the side," Wait... what?" He followed her to the edge of the clearing, taking a close look at the way that she sauntered over to the bushes, and smiled," Well if that's all you wanted, then you should've just said so, I thought that you were trying to kill me... I would love a spar." Savel smiled and sat down next to her, curling his silver tail around him with a questioning look on his face.

Phenome grunted heavily and said in her natural voice, a medium toned but most definitely feminine tone "My apologies...most call me sick in the mind, for my crazy actions. Others call me psychotic. The particularly cruel ones..." she added with a thump of her head against the ground as she whipped her paws out from under her "Call me retarded, freak, or pest..." she rubbed her muzzle on the ground roughly "I must assume you would be in the middle? Between freak and retard and psychotic..." she curled her tail around her "It just annoys me. I always just look for excitement and all...nobody likes me for it."

Savel smiled and brought his head down so that they were eye level," Well... to be honest, I like it, you just caught me off guard is all." Savel smiled and tilted his head slightly," come on... cheer up?"

Phenome smiled and said "A chance like you comes around once in a while, you know. Someone who likes the real me..." Phenome purred and flicked Savel's ear with her fluffy tail "Maybe, I guess...." she lays on her side and curls into a ball, saying in an annoyed tone,"How is it that it is always cold here? I mean literally... always." she purrs and stifles a laugh.

Savel smiled," yeah, I get that alot..." He smirked when she flicked his ear with her tail, he maybe even blushed alittle. He smiled and laughed alittle as she spoke," yeah... would you like me to help you warm up? That's if you would like my company." Savel smiled, showing his teeth, His silver ears perked up and his silver tail moving side to side slightly.

Phenome flushed red under the black fortress of her fur and purred in agreement, inching closer to Savel, ~This is slightly awkward...~ thought Phenome. She said quietly "Sure, I would appreciate that," and she made a swift movement to slide herself millimeters away from Savel, a smirk playing across her face.

Savel's smile grew wider as he noticed her getting closer, his face getting red underneath his silver fur. He laid down and said," Damn, well then.... I guess I have no choice now do I?" He smiled showing his teeth, but not in a threatening way.

Phenome purred and said "Warmer...DEFINITELY warmer." She said, laughing to herself knowing that her face was probably beet red. She sighed and flopped her tail on top of Savel's, thinking to herself ~Its odd...how many times I have been told I am mindless, unlovable, and cruel...yet, what's happening here isn't hate. It's not hate...I don't think I know what it is...friendship maybe? ~

Savel rested his muzzle on his two front paws and smiled, he was definitely blushing," y-yeah, I agree with you on that one." Savel thought to himself ~I could get used to this... She's actually pretty awesome, even though somewhat of a flirt, but who's complaining? I sure as hell ain't. ~ He looked at her eyes and smiled," well this went better than I expected." Savel laughed.

Phenome looked away, her eyes betraying her content in their blue irises," Heh...I can agree with you on that one...." Phenome smiled widely and licked her lips, a nervous tick she had developed over the course of many years. She began to purr quietly, an ongoing sound from her throat, undulating in pitch with her breathing.

Savel looked at her lips and smiled," nervous? Cause you shouldn't be." Savel closed his eyes and listened to her purring next to him. He smiled slightly and wrapped his tail around him and her, causing her to move a little closer to him. "tell me if this gets too uncomfortable for you."

Phenome purred louder and laid her head on his shoulder, running her tongue across her sharp teeth and saying "I'm not nervous...not really that is." She smiled, but it ended up more like a grimace, as she was definitely nervous. ~Nothing like this has ever happened before....I-I wonder what it will turn out to be...~ Phenome twined her tail with Savel's and awaited a reaction.

Savel opened his eyes and tilted his head a little so that she could lay her head on his shoulder better. He smirked when their tails intertwined and he looked at her and smiled sweetly. he moved a little closer, and he lifted his head a little and licked the side of her muzzle," You had a little something on your face... it's gone now." He winked at her and he laid his head down on his front paws and closed his eyes again.

Phenome laughed, feeling more natural and at ease now around Savel. She ran her sandpaper like tongue across the top of his head "Oh yeah, and you had a big spider crawling across your head." she smiled and fluttered her eyelids, kneading at the ground with her ivory claws. She picked a leaf and ran her claws across it, ripping the poor thing helplessly. She laughed quietly, thinking ~I haven't done that since my first year with Suogeni....odd.~ Memories of her old friend and mate spun in her head, and she cringed. ~No use dawdling in the past....~ she thought sadly,

Savel smiled and laughed," damn... and I thought I was smooth." He smirked and winked at her. Then he noticed what she did to the leaf and how she looked upset about something," Hey... is everything okay? You seem upset..." Savel turned his face to look into her Deep blue eyes, and he smiled and thought to himself ~ I never knew the phrase," getting lost in someone's eyes." was possible, I guess I was wrong...~ Savel smiled and licked the side of her muzzle again," I'm here if you need to talk..."

Phenome laughed and rubbed her head against Savel's jaw, saying "You remind me so much of my old mate, Suogeni.....he was killed by a loner many seasons ago....Its actually funny, because you...your almost his twin..." Phenome leaned into Savel "I'm sorry. I just miss him a lot, that's all...." she ran her tongue across her paws, hoping that Savel maybe would understand. Strangely...she knew he would.

Savel blushed as she rubbed her head against his jaw. ~ This is going way better than I hoped it would.~ he thought to himself, ~ But I understand where she comes from completely....~ He Smiled and closed his eyes and sighed as old memories came back at him like a movie was playing in his head. He opened his eyes and looked at her, his deep yellow eyes, showing that he understood her completly," I know how it feels... and I'm sorry for your loss..." Savel smirked when she said that he looked like her mates twin," Do I really look like him? It seems weird that I should look like someone else, They should be looking like me instead." Savel smirked.

Phenome smiled sweetly "Yes, you do. Almost exactly in fact." she laughed and then said "I actually find it quite...what's the word...endearing," Phenome thought to herself ~Damn right endearing...or more.~ she said on a more serious note, in a lower tone of voice "Oh...yes, thank you. My apologies...ever heard the phrase caught up in the moment?" she purred lightly and said "That's me, I guess."

Savel smiled when she told him that it was endearing that he looked like her past mate. "Well... I can honestly say that I never heard that before... and I can't tell if it's a good thing or a bad thing..." He smiled, because he knew exactly what she meant, but he just wanted to make sure that they were thinking on the same page. When she told him about the phrase, he smiled. He felt her purr and he smiled a little wider," I think... well, it doesn't really matter what i think not does it?" He winked at her and he laughed a low throaty laugh.

Phenome laughed alongside Savel and said "On the contrary, Id actually be interested." brushing a paw across his, Phenome looked into Savel's yellow eyes and said "Are you going to tell me or what?" she laughed and tipped her head slightly over to the left.

Savel Smiled and he looked down as he felt her brush her paw against his. ~ was it a mistake, or intentional....~ he thought to himself, ~well, I'm afraid to say the wrong thing, so I'm not going to say anything at all... but then.... argh! ~ Savel looked as though he was having an internal battle going on in his head of all the possibilities of what he would be saying in the next few seconds could happen. Savel finally opened his eyes and looked into her's. He finally came up with something," well... i was thinking, that since you lost a mate, that you're currently without a mate? It's just a question..."

Phenomes eyes darted up "Why...yes, I am." she smiled, and wondered where Savel was going to go with this.

Savel smiled when he heard what she said and he looked down and closed his eyes," It was just a question." Inside his head, he was happy and also he was thinking on how to proceed with the next thing he wanted to say, but he decided that he should just leave it for now, and ask it some other time.

Phenome smiled and said "I'm getting a little tired...do you mind if I take a rest?" she leaned in to Savel, purring softly.

Savel smiled," no... i don't mind, I'm kinda tired too... just promise me one thing... you'll be here when i wake up..." Savel enjoyed her company a lot... and he hoped that things could go a little further but at their normal pace. But for now, savel was tired as all hell, and he had an attractive female lying next to him, life couldn't get any better. he closed his eyes and drifted off to sleep to the sound of her purring softly next to him.

Phenome laid her head on top of Savel's, comforted by the warmth that lay beneath her. She purred quietly, and whispered lowly to Savel "Goodnight, I promise I will always be here when you wake up." She smiled and closed her eyes finally, her eyelids fluttering closed.
