#4 of A World In Motion

I'll say right away that this is not the story of my own experience through basic. Unlike some things I write, this is purely an exercise of the creative writing process.

While this story is sexual in nature, I have to emphasize the fact that it occurs in a contemporary fantasy environment; I'll say very clearly that SEXUAL ACTIVITY IS HEAVILY PROHIBITED IN A TRAINING ENVIRONMENT, and that THE US ARMY HAS A VERY STRICT ZERO TOLLERANCE POLICY ON HOMOSEXUAL BEHAVIOUR. What does that mean for you? If you join the army looking to get lucky, UR DOIN IT WRONG~!

Also, bear in mind that this is going to be a pretty accurate description of a military training environment, outside of the above "inaccuracies". I'm not going off rumors and websites, I'm writing this from experience. What you read here isn't "In the Army Now", nor is it "Full Metal Jacket". It's the truth behind the rumors and lies you may hear from a recruiter or army rep.

Also let me emphasize that this is not the story of MY experience in Basic Combat Training. All characters, events, and locations are pure fiction.

Do also bear in mind that I'm not going to be going into the details of exact training, IE, telling you how the army teaches us how to kick in doors, break windows, or make explosive charges. That's sensitive information; If you want to know that, I'm sure you can find it somewhere else on the internet.

BTW, don't read this if the laws of your country prohibit reading depictions of gay sex, masturbation, anthropomorphic animals in sexual situations, or anything else that this story possibly could have in it, because I refuse to be held responsible.

Alex the First

"So who are you?" came the voice from the bunk above Alex.

"I'm Alex. Yourself?" the red fox replied as he looked up to see a husky staring down at him with crisp blue eyes.

"Dale here, Dale Riles. S'good too meet ya. Do I get a last name?" the husky asked as he moved to sit on the edge of the top bunk.

"Ricks," the fox replied. As he did, a fleeting glance of familiarity passed the husky's face, but melted quickly enough. As far as Alex was concerned, it would be best if nobody managed to connect him back to his family.

"So how did you end up here? Are you one of the drop-outs, or one of the regulars?" The husky asked, leaning back and laying on the bed.

"A little of both really. My parents stopped paying tuition, and I couldn't afford the next semester. My girlfriend was living with her parents, and my own parents told me flat out, that it was either join the army, or don't come back."

"Wow... thats fucking cold, but I guess when it comes down to it, it's pretty much the same for me; Mine told me to get the hell out when I turned 19. My FPTs weren't enough to get a scholarship, and I wasn't about to get a shitty ass job flipping burgers. I think my parent's almost expected that I would join the service."

"At least you had a choice though," Alex said, laying back to get a good view of the underside of the top bunk, whose every inch was covered with dirty limericks, slogans, and crudely drawn porn.

"Touche!"

As Alex started to read some of the scrawled contents of the bunk, though, the PA sputtered to life.

*Personal time starts now. That means you get the next 45 minutes to wash your smelly asses and get to bed. And I better see the alpha roster and guard roster on my desk or Y'all wish you'd never been born.* the speakers on the ceiling scratched, before they died with a loud pop. As soon as the message was over, practically everyone in the bay made a beeline to the nearest shower. For Alex, that meant the one near the door. Within the next few seconds, he had already secured his towel, brush, and toothbrush from the dented old locker next to his bunk and was moving towards the shower.

...

By the time he actually got into the shower, he only had 15 minutes left to get scrubbed and to bed. Even so, he took his time to enjoy the hot water as it worked it's way into his rusty orange-red coat. Despite his better judgment, he even shot a glance or two at the other guys around him.

While most weren't even worthy of an honorable mention, there were still a few pretty good looking guys, and it didn't help that they were all lathered up, wet, and naked. As soon as he felt himself start to stir in his sheath, he turned back towards the wall, and cursed himself for letting his curiosity get the best of him. He proceeded to hurry in lathering himself up. In only a few short minutes he managed to get the soap washed out of his fur, brush himself dry himself dry, and cover himself up with his army-issue sweats before anything unexpected could pop up. When he was dressed, he took the time to spray himself down with some pheromone-suppressing deodorant, and as he did, he caught a glimpse of the husky he shared a bunk with as the canine got out of the showers.

That one was definitely worth a bit more than an honorable mention. Even beyond the distinctive and crisp markings of white, dark gray, and nearly black fur, the canine had a lot of other things going for him. His body was well-toned, as opposed to the fox's plain old skinniness, and he was well groomed too. He even could have sworn he saw a flash of deep pink poking it's way out of the canine's sheath as he got out, but he wasn't about to take a second glance. Unfortunately, this wasn't high school, and boys wouldn't just simply be boys. The days of clandestine experimentation were over, and he had already long since ended up on the opposite side of the fence, firmly separated from the vast majority of the males in the bay. With all haste he made his way to his own bunk, taking time to sign the alpha roster on his way there. By the time he was under the covers, the lights had already turned off.

Laying back in the bed, Alex noted the various conversations that still echoed around the room as introductions and stories of home bled into eachother. As the others talked, though, all the fox could manage to do was think about everything he hadn't told the husky that was shortly snoring loudly above him. For instance, he had left out the entire part where his father was the theocratic national senator for Cannis, and how his parents found out that his 'girlfriend' was really a 'boyfriend'; where they set him up to join the army to avoid a scandal... or where his boyfriend's parents turned him away not because of the relationship he had with their son, but because his boyfriend's mother had been diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. It didn't help, either, that he had caught his boyfriend putting together an identity for another guy who could have been from Drakon for all Alex cared. Not even someone local, the wolf had to be cheating on him with some foreign piece of shit. That's the part that stung the worst. Even as he thought about Mark, though, he wished things could have turned out differently.

Before he broke down, he forced the idea out of his head, and replaced it with thoughts of naked husky... After all, what the canine didn't know wouldn't hurt him. Carefully he reconstructed what he saw as Dale stepped out of the steamy room, dripping from head to toe. As he recalled it, he couldn't help but thinking there was the slightest hint of purple-pink crowning the tip of the perfectly formed sheath. Just the thought was enough to make the fox's own cock begin to push it's way out of it's furry prison, and he continued to coax it by rubbing the forming lump gently with his right hand, even as his left untied the rear string that secured the sweats over his tail. Before long, his pants were seated just under his own rust-hued sack and his member was standing firmly three inches passed the edge of his sheath. As his paw slid down the pre-covered length, he surpressed a slight moan, and now instead of just simply standing wet in the shower, he and the husky were laying next to each other in a sensual 69. He could almost taste the length in his mouth as he extracted his entire length from the furry foreskin, pushing it back as he grabbed a hold of his un-engorged knot. In his mind, though, it wasn't him doing the massaging, but rather a 3 toned canine with piercing blue eyes. Eyes that were squeezed shut in pleasure as the fox licked up and down 5?... no, 7 inches of canine cock.

Doing his best to remain quiet, he silently bit his own tongue rather than cry out as his climax came near. Pleasure raced from his groin to the rest of him as he quickly put his free paw out to catch whatever he was going to issue, and a single stroke later, his paw began to fill with hot, creamy fox cum, and his other paw was filling up with his tie. Rather than make more of a sticky mess, and prolong his erection, he silently released the knot, and started to lick the semen up from his other paw.

It was one of the first times he had jerked off since he had broken up with Mark, and it felt good to release the pressure. As he smelled the strong musk of the cum on his paw, he greedily licked up the sticky mess, until there was nothing but a light smell of sex behind. Short after, he was sound asleep.

...

Alex woke up to the PA blaring. While he was too far out of it still to understand what it was saying, none of it sounded very kind. Apparently the fire guard that night had failed to wake the bay up on time, and someone was going to end up doing some "corrective therapy", which the DS had made clear over the past 24 hours would amount to turning so much grass into so much mud over the period of about a half hour. Silently he thanked whatever powers may be that he hadn't been on the guard roster that night. As the recruits in the room all hastily changed out of their clothes, there was no time for modesty. They simply did as they were told, and did it as fast as they could; nobody was too particularly keen on getting picked for a few rounds with the drills. Within the span of about 2 minutes, the fox had already managed to get into a fresh pair of sweats, and ready for the next day's in-processing.

As each fur finished getting ready, they all grabbed their processing paperwork and shuffled down three flights of stairs, out the door, ran around to the back of the building, to form up in a rough rectangle. While Alex didn't remember exactly being told to do this, he did his best to follow suit. As long as someone knew what was going on, the fox didn't particularly care. Once all the privates had cleared out of the building, they stood in a massive rectangle must have been no less than 250 furries, with a giant polar bear in uniform and DS hat standing at the front.

"You are privates. I am your Drill Sergeant. My uniform may say my name is 'Moore', but to you it's still Drill Sergeant. Don't let the name-tape fool you. Is this understood?" The bear said as he looked down the row of privates, some shivering in their sweats from the cold morning air of spring. From the crowd came various and weak answers of yes, with three or four confident "Yes, Drill Sergeant"s thrown in. Not knowing how to respond, Alex simply kept silent.

"Glad to see SOME of you know where you are. Lets break this down kiddie-style. When I address you, I want to hear one of three things. 'Yes, Drill Sergeant', 'No, Drill Sergeant', and 'No Excuse, Drill Sergeant'. If I ask a question I want the answer, and 'Drill Sergeant' is the new period, question mark, and exclamation point. Is that understood?" From the crowd came a resounding "Yes, Drill Sergeant".

"Now each of you are here for different reasons. I don't really care what those reasons are; I am not your friend. I'm here to get you ready for the next 15 weeks of your life, whether you like it or not. Now, when I talk to you, there's one way I want you to be standing, and that's at the position of 'parade rest', you got that? for those of you who still don't know what that is, I'll break that down kiddie style, too," he said as he pointed at a specific person in the formation. It just so happened to be one Dale Riles. "You. Get up here."

"Yes, Drill Sergeant," the husky said as he walked strait out of the formation to the DS.

"Private, is that how you break ranks?" the DS shouted as the husky came to stand in front of him.

On thinking for a split second, the husky promptly responded with "No Excuse, Drill Sergeant."

"Well, at least you're starting to get the idea. Now get back in formation, and break ranks like you're supposed to; Step back, and go out between the ranks to either side."

"Yes, Drill Sergeant," was the canine's only response as he took his place once more, and then fell out as instructed, to find himself standing back in front of the DS once more, standing with his hands behind his back, and his foot paws spread about a foot apart.

"That's better. Good to see you know what Parade Rest is. What about attention?" the DS said as he looked at the husky. With a snap, Dale was now standing with his heels together, and his arms strait down at his sides.

"Not bad at all. Now do an About Face." The canine moved his feet slightly and was now facing the group.

"Alright. This high speed soldier is going to be your example. How he's standing is called Attention. Fists balled, feet together, tail down, and arms down at the sides with the thumbs at the seams of your pants, or at the back of your side pockets. And your ears better be up, and your face and eyes better be forward. When I say Group, Atten-SHUN, this is the way you're going to be, got that?" Again, the group responded with an almost deafening chorus of "Yes, Drill Sergeant".

"Next, Parade rest." the DS said, then told Dale quietly to stand at parade rest. Immediately, he took the position he had been at before, arms behind his back with his hand paws together thumbs interlocking, with his foot paws spread apart and his tail still down.

"And this... Is parade rest. You stand with your hands behind your back at your waistline, eyes and face forward, ears up. Your feet better be shoulder width apart. This is how you address me and any other NCO you see. When one enters the room, you better make sure to say 'at ease' and get there or so help me, you'll be wishing you were never born. Tracking?" Again the response was unanimous. Within a second, the entire formation had assumed some level of parade rest, and as the DS told dale to "fall in", he immediately ran around to the side of the formation and made his way back to his place.

"And now I'm fucking HUNGERY. Lets go get some breakfast. Group. Atten-SHUN!" he shouted as the entire group attempted to mimic what they had seen the husky do to varying degrees of success.

"Right, FACE!" the DS commanded, prompting 80% of the group to turn right, about 3% to turn left, and the remaining 17% to stand there looking dumb.

"For those of you who don't seem to know, Right Face is when you turn Right. I'm not going to go over how to do that right now, But needless to say, Get there." the DS said in a tone of growing irritation. In the blink of an eye, every last body had successfully joined the group in facing in the proper direction.

"And this one goes without saying... Forward, MARCH!" As he said it, he began calling out a rhythmic cadence of the pattern Left, Left, Left-right, and the group began stepping in rhythm of the almost hypnotic drawl of the Polar Bear's timing. While only two thirds of the group seemed to "get" the whole marching in step thing, after about a minute, they were approaching the chow hall portion of the reception building.

"OK, I'm going to call something new, now. It's called Mark-Time. That means the front stops, and everyone else falls in behind them same as when we started, and you keep marching in place. Got that? Mark-time, MARCH!" the bear said, prompting the front of the group to stop moving forward just in front of the doorway. Slowly, the formation took shape behind them, and made it back into the long rectangle that it started as. When they had all stopped moving, for the most part, He called "Group, HALT!", and everyone stopped marching within the span of a step or so.

"OK, This last one will stump some people, so to not look like a bunch of fucking idiots, I want anyone who KNOWS what they are doing to step to the front of formation. That means you Husky, and anyone else who's been here more than a day." From the group came a small reply of "Yes, Drill Sergeant" followed by those same furs pushing their way to the front.

Once in place, the formation restored it's shape, and the drill sergeant called out quickly "File from the Left and Right...." As he shouted, the two people at the head of the two center lines called out "Stand Fast" over their shoulders, and the ones at the sides called out a strong "Forward". Once the drill sergeant heard them, he responded by calling out "MARCH!" As soon as they heard the command, the two on the side rows, namely Dale, and a nameless wolf ran forward and pulled the doors of the building open, as those behind them filed in. Once the left and right rows had filed in, the two in the center yelled their own "Forward, MARCH", and then took the place of Dale and the wolf, letting the rest file in before them, taking their place at the back of two long lines within the building. As Alex took his place in line, Dale managed to jump in behind him.

"Well, that was something, huh?" He said, smiling as they stood, the line staying still as the doors of the chow hall proper remained closed.

"I guess. By the way, How do you know all that stuff? like the positions and shit?" Alex asked, looking back into the husky's clear blue eyes.

"Didn't I tell you I came from a military family? If I had a nickel for every minute my dad made me stand at parade rest or attention facing a corner, I would be set for life. One thing I can say about the man, though, was that he didn't lay a hand on me, either. Don't get me started on the 'smoking' though." Dale said, then motioned forward as the line began to lurch forward. Within the next second, the doors to the chow hall opened, and they all piled in.

Once they got into the chow hall, everyone began to squeeze in as tight as they could, leaving little enough room for breathing, let alone talking. On the side of each line, there was a cinder block block wall, and opposite the wall, there was an assortment of drill sergeants yelling at the privates to stand at parade rest, with one arm holding their quick books, books with an assortment of useful information for recruits, out in front of them. More specifically, they were told to read the section on army values, songs, and general orders. Whenever someone as much as opened their mouth or looked around, immediately there was a DS there to put them in their place. Eventually, Alex made it to the front of the line, and found himself holding a tray with an assortment of foul looking food on it. He quietly took a seat at a free table, retrieved an ice cream bar from the snack bar, and returned to the table to find the husky sitting across from him yet again. 'Maybe this won't be so bad...' he thought to himself, as blue eyes met his own.

"So where do you come from?" the husky said quickly as he stuffed a spoon full of something that was green into his mouth.

"Cannis City, Cannis." The fox said, hazarding an attempt at the same green substance. From the taste, it tasted like overcooked spinach.

"Heh, Never been to the capitol myself. I'm from the opposite corner, down in Coldspur," the husky said as he forced down the concoction.

"Damn... is it really true you guys are snowed in 4 months out of the year?"

"Yeah, it kinda sucks... but the summer months are awesome. Everyone up north comes because it's cooler down there, and the parties and clubs are downright awesome. That is, when they aren't closed for winter."

"I know. I took a summer break down there once, and my dad almost freaked from some of the stuff he saw in the pictures. You could say he's more one for 'conventional family values'." The husky's amusement flashed across his face, as he started to attack his fish, prompting Alex to do his best to work on the pile of food-shaped objects in front of him, and then enjoy the ice cream bar before it could melt.

"I know how that goes. My own dad can be pretty oppressive about that too. When he heard my brother was bar tending at The Triangle, he just about flipped. He hasn't talked to the guy since." As the husky talked, his words needed no extra explanation; The Triangle was infamous as the most well-known gay club in the country. The only way it managed to avoid most of the sanctions was it's location; As part of a Democratic Republic, Coldspur had chosen to strike most of it's anti-gay, anti-drug, and anti-prostitution laws from the books to facilitate it's reputation as the place to party. While this invited a seasonal influx of students from across the country for summer break, the harsh winters kept the local population of freaks to a bare minimum. While most other provinces followed suit with Coldspur's striking of the anti-sodomy laws and laws to prevent cross-species relationships, both were still heavily frowned upon by the conservatives, who feared that such relationships would lead to the overall erosion of the population, and of family values. As a result, there were very few establishments that would cater to those who deviated as such from the social norm.

"At all? That's cold even by my own dad's standards," Alex commented as he finished eating his ice cream. As he finished, they got up and they dumped their trays and headed down the long hallway of stations together towards the main reception waiting area, opening their quick books to read.

...

By the time everyone had filed in and taken their seats at the long benches, Alex was already starting to get tired of reading the same three paragraphs non-stop. It was a blessing, then, when the DS told them to put the books away, and follow him down the hall, filing after him one bench row at a time. When they finished, he broke them up into three groups. One group he sent down the hall to receive their initial issue of equipment, the second group, Alex and Dale's group, he sent to the optical section, while the third ended up getting sent to hearing.

The next two hours passed slowly, as they were again told to pick up their books and wait for their turn in line. After getting filed off the benches outside the station, they were filed into another area to wait even longer for an appointment with the optometrist, who spent roughly 15 minutes with each soldier, and told them how bad their eyesight was. It was a relief, then, as the optometrist told him that his eyesight was just fine, and he sat down again outside the station. Once Dale joined him, they again went back to the main reception area to wait for the rest of the groups to finish their various stations.

Once everyone had finished, the polar bear drill sergeant returned to file them in for another meal, this time more resembling real food, notably fish. It even tasted like fish, which was definitely better than breakfast. Once the meal was over, each group rotated stations,

At hearing, it was more of the same of what had gone on with optical; hurry up and wait, while reading the quick books. When he finally got to the front of the line, a rather large Otter female took his packet of materials from him and ushered him into a small sound proofed room where he and 5 others were instructed to take seats.

Once they were seated, the otter told them that they would be doing a hearing test. They were each instructed to put on a set of headphones and listen to a series of beeps in varying tones and volumes. Every time they heard a beep they were instructed to push a button that was attached to a cord that escaped into the same box that the headphones were plugged into.

Once the test was done, they were ushered out and back into the hallway. They waited another hour, ate another meal, and then went to their next stations. Already the day was blurring into the previous one... All except the meals as he sat across from the husky.

...

By the time Alex had reached uniform issue, it was already starting to get dark outside, After being seated in a room and listening to the instructions on how to put together a duffel bag, and put stuff in it, the privates were all ushered into a long line of stations in what looked like a warehouse that was connected to the reception area. At each station, the attendant looked at them for a moment, handed them four sets of whatever they were issuing, and then pushed them forward to the next station, each making marks on one of the sheets in the in-processing packet Alex carried with him. Once through the normal stations, each fur was handed a pistol belt, and a 2 quart canteen, then pushed forward to boot issue.

For the most part, nobody on Rowana, nobody wore shoes; the thick pads on the bottoms of their paws were sufficient for normal use, but then again the army wasn't normal use. Alex had heard people talking about how much boots sucked to varying degrees for a while now. The idea of blisters were something he really didn't want to think about.

Once at the boot issue station, each private was instructed to go up onto a raised area with chairs, where each attendant would size up the foot paws of the furry they were attending. Once they had taken the measurements, they handed the attendee a set of jet black lizard hide boots that varied slightly by species. When Alex received his pair, he was told to try them on and walk a while in them.

The boots themselves weren't that uncomfortable, but it was still an odd feeling, having an extra inch of stuff between him and the floor. The hide they were made from was supple, and where the hide stopped, flexible nylon webbing was placed that allowed for freedom of movement. The heels of the boots were extended back behind the foot to allow extra stability and most notably, the upper of the boot was designed as such that it provided amazing support at the ankle. Another interresting thing was the extra section of sole that ran from the ankle halfway down the length of the boot. While he thought it looked silly having the lizard-hide boots coming halfway up his ankle to his knees, wearing them allowed enough balance that he didn't even need to use his tail to walk properly, and after a few steps he was satisfied that he had gotten the right fit.

Once he had been handed one extra pair of boots, he was then ushered back into the waiting room to read his smart book.

...

Once they had been filed out of the building, at the same place they had entered that morning, they were formed up and marched back to the bays for personal hygiene.

As soon as they got there, Mark grabbed his hygiene kit and made a beeline for the showers. While they hadn't been specifically told to shower yet, now was as good a time as ever--especially since there was practically nobody there yet. Once he had managed to get through the shower, he again sprayed himself down with deodorant, signed the alpha roster, and checked the fire guard roster. According to the list, both he and Dale had third shift together, a full hour. He smiled a bit to himself and decided to bed down early for the night.

...

Alex was abruptly woken up by the shine of a red-lensed flashlight in his eyes. Despite the color being softer than the bright white light of a normal flashlight, it was still nearly blinding. From behind the red wash of light, a voice came from the darkness. "You got 15 minutes to get in uniform before I'm going to bed, so hurry up."

"Yeah, I'm moving..." Alex said, as he rolled out of his bunk and woke Dale, who responded with a light moan and after shuffling under his covers, sat up, and then hopped down.

"Eh? what's going on?" the husky asked, as whoever had the red light made his way back down the hall between the rows of bunks.

"Fire Guard," came the fox's response as he opened his locker and began pulling the fatigues he had been issued hours before. As he put the uniform on, he sneaked a couple peeks back at the husky; A casual glance revealed a budding hard-on that even the darkness of the bay wouldn't hide. On seeing the canine's erection, though, Alex was quick to turn back and then fishing getting him self ready for the shift. Once the husky had finished as well, they walked down to the end of the room, where the bunks ended, and the laundry facilities and bathroom were, next to the alarmed exit doors.

"You know, I never manged to ask your JC today." the husky said as he leaned back against the wall. As he stood there, he pulled out a small red-light flashlight and began shining it idly against the tall walls that separated the bunks from the entryway of the bay.

"Combat Engineer. 2A. What can I say? I like blowing things up."

"Heh, a fox after my own heart. Same here." the husky whispered back, as he stuck his thumbs into his pockets.

"So what kind of family do you have back home?"

"Just me and Dad. My mother died a while back from pneumonia, and I already told you about my brother. You?"

"Three brothers, Four sisters, my Dad and my Mom. Then me."

"Damn... Why so many?"

"Well, I told you my dad was a conservative freak; He seems to think it's his duty to his species to make sure he makes up for all the 'un-naturals' that aren't 'doing their part for the species'."

"I know I've heard that wording before... wait... ricks... as in THE Sean Ricks? Senator Sean Ricks?!?" the husky said, forcing himself into a hush to keep from waking anyone up.

"One in the same. Just don't go telling the whole bay, OK?"

"Sure... but... I gotta know, that story on the news..." the husky started and the fox abruptly interrupted.

"Well, there was a press release wasn't there?" the fox snapped, a little to harsh for his own liking.

"Bad subject?" the wolf said as he looked over at Alex.

"Sorry. Not something I like thinking about. Hey, why don't you show me some of that other military stuff... like parade rest and all that?" the fox offered as a change of subject.

"Why not? It's not all really that hard. Some things take some getting used to... Like the facing commands. The positions themselves are easy." the husky said as he moved to stand directly in front of Alex. "You remember parade rest, right?"

"Yeah." As he spoke, he assumed the best parade rest he could, with the husky watching silently. As it was, it seemed the boots helped with the extended soles, giving him balance despite the useless position of his tail.

"Not bad, but you have a few things wrong. What you have there is more of an "at ease" than a parade rest; at ease is a casual parade-rest for talking and interacting."

"So what's wrong with it?"

"First, you want your hands higher; above the tail, not over it. They're together wrong too. Let me see..." the husky explained as he stepped around behind the fox and grabbed his hands softly. Gently he pulled the thumbs so that the webs were interlocking, fingers together and extended. From the touch, though, the fox began to wonder slightly. Something about it was almost sensual.

"Thats better. It's less comfortable than most people are used to at first, but that lets you know you're doing it right. To go 'at ease' just lower your hands over the base of your tail, and relax your fingers a bit. Just remember to be back at parade rest when a formation goes to attention."

"Which is like this, right?" the fox said as he placed his arms down to his sides and pulled together his heels. When he did, both his heels, and the rears of his pad soles touched, again making for support as he forced his tail to hang down.

"Yeah. That's better than your parade rest. But you don't really have to be so stiff. Bend your elbows a tad, and let your knees get their natural bend. If you don't, you'll pass out in no time. Still make sure to stand up strait." As he said it, Alex did it.

"And now the harder shit. Facing. When you face, always move the foot of the command first, and then follow with your other foot. Never step over your own feet; facing with your feet like that will more than likely cause you to trip if your moving at march speed. Try it. Left Face." When the husky said face, he took care to turn his left foot, and then join it with his right, bringing himself around smoothly.

"Not bad. But do it with more snap, and try to keep your left heel in mostly the same spot. Like this." the husky said as he snapped to attention and did a left face himself. Instead of Alex's smooth movement, the husky stepped firmly down and brought his other foot around in a crisp rhythm.

"Like a 1-2 kind of thing?"

"Yeah... like a 1-2 kind of thing."

"And turning around completely?"

"That's probably the hardest thing in basic drill and ceremony for a beginner. I remember I almost ended up breaking my ankle trying that one at first. But I guess you have to learn some time, right? better if you know it, so you can make a show of learning quick, and not fucking up when the DS tries to teach it."

"Drill and Ceremony?"

"Yeah, it's what the army calls all that facing and formation shit. Grow up in an army home... Anyway, for about face, you place your right foot behind your left, and a little to the left of it. like this..." the husky did as he was describing, causing his legs to cross slightly, "And then you turn around to the RIGHT on the central footpad. If you go left, you trip yourself, likely fall, and look funny as hell. I won't promise not to laugh if you do."

"So right behind left..." Alex said as he did so "Then turn to the right." Before he knew it, he was facing the wall that had been behind him.

"Hmmm... not bad... You're a fast learner. Now bring your left foot next to your right, and that's it. Try it again." As Alex did, he found himself looking back into the husky's face... it almost seemed as if the husky had gotten a little closer as he had been turned around; As it was their muzzles were only about 6 inches apart.

"Not bad at all," the husky said as he locked his gaze on Alex, who couldn't help but feel a bit of a blush as he looked back. No matter how good his deodorant was, though, he knew there was no way it would cover his nervousness so close to the husky, who cracked a slight smile, and laughed a bit.

"So the rumor on the news was true... you really are..." the husky said, not moving away, not moving closer, then continued, "and what's this other thing I smell? I don't remember that being on the menu..."

"I don't know what you're.." Alex said nervously, now practically reeking from his furious blushing and starting to back away. Until the husky stepped forward, put his arms around the now-quaking fox, and nuzzled him gently, giving a sensual lick on Alex's nose.

"Lets just say my brother wasn't the only one in the family. That and I knew from the start who you were. I remembered a picture of you from the news, and the name cinched it." Dale said, as the fox's face began to show his incredulity. Suddenly, the day's events clicked... the way the husky had tailed him.

"So that's why you were so nice to me? To get me here?" Alex silently kicked himself for his gullibility. It wouldn't have been the first time someone had tried to get close to him because of who he was, but it was the first time someone had succeeded. He pushed the husky firmly away in his disgust.

"No. I mean, some of it was curiosity... but most of it was just me thinking you were incredibly hot from the get-go. I can't tell you how hard I jacked off when they put your face on the news... and the thought that you were... you know... I really just wanted to get to know you."

"And not just because I'm a senator's son?"

"Not at all."

"Well, in that case, I guess I'm a bit flattered," Alex said as he let down his defensive stance. After all, it was good to have a friend he could actually open up to. As he looked at the clock, though, he realized they would have to cut it short. The shift was long since over, and formation came damn early. "As much as it might be fun to see where this goes... It's past time for the next shift."

"All good things..." the husky said, trailing off as he picked up the roster to go wake the next two soldiers for their shift, letting Alex depart back to his own bunk early.

Back at his bunk, the fox changed from his uniform back into his sleeping sweats, and got in under his linens... to dream of husky.
