Adventures of Nex Era

This is a story loosely based off one of my run through's on Skyrim. Nex Era's name means something special. If anyone wants to try and figure it out they are welcome to, however I would prefer you did not say it in the comments section, instead Private Messaging it to me, holding the fact that you know it, or simply not bothering. If you want to have your character put into the story PM me or leave a comment. If I like the char I will work it out with you. Enjoy!

Nex Era was a Khajit, a caravan trader in Skyrim who had two problems, first she was always an offbeat kitty who enjoyed learning the fine arts of magic (specificly how to kill people and bring them back), and secondly she was bound and cold as she was put in a wagon with several Nords. Her confusion lasted only a few vague minutes, after awaking, as she heard that she was riding with the Stormcloaks and their leader!

Inwardly groaning she desperately hoped the Imperials were not going to be fools and assume she had anything to do with these rebels. Sadly this was not the case, proven even more so when one of the Nords (a theif) was shot attempting to escape. Her last hope for escape was destroyed when the bitch of a guard decided that even though Nex wasn't on the fucking list, she was to be killed.

Nex's only hope was that the nords would grow satisfied with the bloodshed and let her go, since this was probably going to be alphabetical, and she knew most Nord names were usually more towards the begining of the alphabet for some reason, or at least the ones she dealt with. But luck was not on her side and for SOME reason the moronic fucking Nord, who went first, rushed his death and probably set them in their mood for killing.

Even worse was the fact they were NOT going by alphabetical order and she was next! Grimly setting herself to the fate that awaited her she knelt at the block, and cocked an ear when she heart a strange noise. Imperials, being blowhard idiots who ignore anything not right in front of them, shrugged it off in favor of killing her faster. This of course was countered by the jaw dropping effect of a dragon, a rather beautiful if deadly, creature descending on the execution grounds and screaming at everyone. For some strange reason this caused fireballs to rain from the sky and a bloody red light to break through the clouds.

As the Imperials scattered and attempted to fight the creature Nex quickly shook off the disorientation and made a run for it, escaping with some of the prisoners into a tower. Not really wanting to stay near the base where the wounded soldiers were hiding, knowing that was the first place to probably get hit, she made a run for the top, hoping to jump off the roof and into a nicely thatched roof nearby.

She saw two Imperial soldiers as she made her way up and grinned, now she could get her bonds off! This was also a short lived happiness as the dragon bashed through the wall, crushing the two men, and immediately screamed into the room something that caused fire to spread inside. Well plan A, B, C, and probably D were screwed...time for her to skip straight to plan F, for Fucked. Whipping her head back and forth searching for something to cut her bonds off with she cursed as it became clear there was nothing.

Peaking out the new hole in the wall she noted a rather comfy looking semi burned down house a short jump away. Mentally gathering her courage she stepped back a few times and made a running jump to try and get into the house. Her jump was successful, although she now had a few more bruises, and she made her way across the floor searching for a way down.

She was paying so little attention to where she was going that she almost walked into a flaming barrel, singing her fur and causing several more curses to spew forth, only to have the floor collapse and drop her onto a pile of burlap sacks. Getting up, her tail now hurting as well, she ran outside and quickly dodged behind another house, almost getting fried by the dragon again.

Several Imperials were shouting, one of which had argued against her execution, she liked him, and talked about some sort of escape plan. Not really bothering to listen she waited for the Imperials to go first so she could use them as shields in case of attack. The one who argued against her death seemed to have a plan though, so she followed him. After several more heart pounding moments, one close call with the dragon almost squishing them both and THEN burning them, they managed to get to the exit.

Now she had a choice, follow the kind Imperial who's people had tried to kill her...or follow the rebels who had caused her to get captured for no reason...well she had always been a rebel of sorts before, why change now? Sure Nords were assholes and racists and wouldn't let her kind into cities...but they didn't try to kill her for shits and giggles! Plus they were a sucker for a good barter...

Running into the building with the stormcloak she got ready for her new outlaw life. Once inside the building the stormcloak, his name eluded her currently, cut her claws free and told her to take the gear of a dead stormcloak. Kinda unsure what to do, since she was a mage, Nex shrugged and looted his friend before simply following him along, not bothering to wear any of the armor.

The stormcloak attempted to find and exit, although the way was locked, as she eyed her new found axe and armor before simply stuffing it in her backpack. She stopped then as she realized the moronic Imperials had left her backpack on her...weird. Just then stormcloak guy noticed two Imperials coming. Now normally when only one of the enemies is wearing armor and holding a weapon, you can feel secure in your chances of success.

However, as the Imperials seemed to have forgotten, Khajit are VERY good brawlers with their claws. As the two self righteous Imperials opened the locked gate and charged them Nex decided that this would be a great time to vent some anger...physically. Grabbing the first one to come close enough she kicked his kneecap, knocking him down a bit, grabbed his helmet and began slamming her fist into his face over and over.

Soon enough she dropped her now lifeless victim, his nose now smashed up into his skull, and turned to whats-his-name only to find him finishing off his equally untrained enemy with his axe. She may not give a fuck about the Nords...but a man covered in the blood of his enemy and looking so good...really didn't do anything to stop her inner animal from purring.

Looting the Imperials, and admiring the nice shape of the female one, she followed Ralof out of the room, after asking his name. Quickly looting the sacks right outside the door for some more food she followed him down the hall way to another passage way with people in it. Once again though the dragon did something and caused a cave in, crushing both the people and leaving only one way out for them.

"I really need to talk to someone about re-enforcing their buildings against dragons..." muttered Nex as she followed Ralof. Inside were two more Imperials, looting their own building, and before Ralof could do anything she was already sneaking in. She had a few daggers and such from the dead already, but no need for them. Getting behind the more important looking guy she slashed his neck with her claws and backed up using her other hand to light the two men on fire.

After the screaming stopped Ralof walked in and shook his head, walking around the charred corpses, and headed to the end of the room.

"Take everything you can get, I will wait." Ralof said.

Shrugging Nex quickly spent the next ten minutes looting everything and helping herself to a little wine. It soothed her nerves and made her a bit more confident in her skills. In the next room she found the torture room, a horridly bloody place, with the torturer and his assistant. Interestingly enough two other Stormcloaks were currently fighting with said torturers, and losing.

Nex was beginning to wonder if she had picked the wrong side to be on! Quickly working with her fire and claws she helped turn the tide of the battle in the Stormcloaks favor. Noticing a locked cell with money and items in it, chiefly being mage gear, Nex spent the next few minutes working open the lock and looting the cell.

Moving on from there it became a skirmish as several very well armed and trained Imperials, the first of which she had dealt with, engaged them. Sneaking towards the arches at the far end of the room, prefering them to the platemail two handed fighters, she found a stroke of luck. The archers were standing in oil! Stealthily she light the fire and hid behind a pillar, letting the immolated archers wear themselves out a bit before she rounded the corner and re-ignited them.

As the victorious Stormcloaks looted the bodies and prepared to leave, the two from earlier talked about remaining behind to wait for their leader. Nex had a bad feeling about this but was ignored. When she and Ralof left, the dragon once again doing his thing, the entrance sealed, and possibly the room collapsed. Turning to Ralof she gave him a bland look.

"Told you..."

With that she headed off to explore where they were, only to find herself surrounded by bloody spiders! Cringing a bit she used both palms to fire her spells in a blazing fury, only to run out of mana...and start running. Ralof turned out to be a great hero, and shield, for the spider extermination, including their eggs, and didn't even mind.

As if the spiders hadn't been bad enough the next room held a bear...a fucking bear...and skeletons. Ralof offered to help her fight it, or sneak past. Glaring at him, in her sexy new mage gear, she huffed and tried to sneak past the bear. Apparently they have reaaaaally good hearing. During the short, but epic, battle of run, scream and burn the bear, the two of them headed out of the cave.

Shuddering slightly at how bright the light was, her night vision having kicked in from being in the more dimly light area, Nex turned to Ralof. But before she could get in a word he started speaking, thanking her for her help and offering her a place in the rebellion. Closing her mouth she shrugged and accepted, ready to go off with her new friend to join the Stormcloaks.

He then told her where to go, needing to make a quick stop first, before they went to get her into the army. Turning to follow him expectantly she grinned and motioned for him to lead. He then solemnly told her that they should split up, follow the ONLY path to the village, and meet up there. Suddenly, her brave, strong, friendly Nord friend...was looking to be a bit on the stupid side...
