#1 of Chronicles of the Nexus

Bounty Hunter

The Devil's Playground was located in one of the seedier sections of the Nexus. A hangout for the local scum, Dust dealers and whatever else the universe saw fit to send walking through its doors it was a club where a single rule held sway. If you wanted to stay alive, then stay out of the way.

"My home away from home." Said a red dragoness as she sat down on at the bar. Tail swaying she ordered herself a drink. "Bartender. A glass of your finest firewine."

"That voice." The bartender, an old skunk who had seen better days shivered unconsciously. That voice had conjured images of a woman he knew all too well. A woman who wore a brown leather trench coat and whose conquests both on and off the battlefield were the stuff of legends.

His tail trying to tuck between his legs he said. "Not you."

"My money spends as good as any." She said. "Better than most in this place I'd say." She slid a handful of coins across the counter. More than enough to cover any expenses she might incur.

"Diana." Said the bartender, his hand shaking as he poured the Firewine. "I just finished fixing this place after you smashed it up the last time." Once the cup was full with one finger he flicked the side of the glass with a practiced ease.

The agitation set off a riot of colors in the liquor, looking almost as if a thousand dancing flames were caught in its depths it began to blaze with a soft crimson glow.

She lifted the glass in a toast. She drank from the cup. He drank from the bottle.

His voice was pleading when he said. "So please, please. For me. Try to leave it in one piece this time."

She set down the glass and he poured her another.

Pops was right, the place looked even better than it had before. There were even mirrors situated throughout the bar so he could spy on his customers without their noticing.

In the Nexus, selling information on the side wasn't just a good business practice, it was also the best damn insurance policy you could get.

"It looks nice." Savoring the smooth taste this time she let a tongue of flame pass from her lips as she sighed in contentment. "No promises though."

It wasn't long after the singer on stage, a sky dragon with wings like an angel and a voice to match broke into his signature song - Angels with burning hearts - that Diana noticed movement from out of the corner of her eye.

One of the local werewolf lords who had decided to make a name for himself by wiping out another pack had just entered the bar.

It had been a truly bad career move. The packs themselves liked to exist in an uneasy alliance, each ruling over their own territory. There was always the occasional disagreement to be sure, but for the most part the alliance kept relations between the packs, civilized.

Pissing off the other packs had only made them join together and put out a bounty on his head. Dead or alive Lupus was worth over fifty million Enz. And that kind of money was enough to make anyone nervous.

Hence the ring of burly looking bodyguards escorting their leader into the club.

* * *

Lupus had his bodyguards clear him a seat while a meek looking looking bunny girl tried to take his order.

Meek turned out to be an understatement. The bodyguards were busy patting her down for weapons even as she was talking. And they had already found a set of brass knuckles, a carefully concealed knife, and enough firepower to equip a small army.

Diana could hardly blame her for packing that much heat. Even in this day and age a girl needs to know how to take care of herself. "Looks like my bounty just walked in the front door." Diana felt it was only decent of her to give him fair warning. "Sorry Pops. Looks like its show time."

She didn't even get half way across the bar before she felt a moment of singular clarity. Followed by an unease that made her scales itch.

She stopped to look around.

Only the singer on stage was unaware of the sudden shift in atmosphere. The cold chill of death that radiated from every eye in the room. Half the people in here are after the same bounty. She thought.

As those eyes turned to look at Lupus her unease intensified. Scratch that, everyone in here is after the same bounty. And then it hit her. The bodyguards, the way he was just sitting there casually, even walking into a known hangout for bounty hunters. It was as if he had expected a shit storm and remembered to bring an umbrella.

And then the bullets started flying.

From behind the bar there came an agonized cry of. "Not the booze!"

"Always with the priorities aye Pops?" Said Dianna as she kicked over a table to use as a shield. It wouldn't stop regular lead for long, but she was betting Pops had specially modified the bar for just such an emergency.

The singer on stage was already making a bee line for safety. "Fuck! Fuck! Fuck!" Dodging a hail of bullets he ducked behind the table. Wings quivering he looked at her with starry eyes and said. "You're a bounty hunter. I need to get out of here in one piece. Whattaya say. Up for the job?"

She took a moment to consider his offer. "My bounty just turned into a hell of a lot more work than he's worth. So I'm open to a little alternative compensation for my troubles."

"I'll pay you anything you want. Just get me out of here."

That peaked her interest. "Anything?"

He was already nodding. Watching as spells began flying overhead he ducked lower beneath the rapidly disintegrating table and said. "Anything!"

She grabbed his crotch possessively. Eliciting a low moan from him she considered the size of his package and said. "Consider this a down payment." She gave him a quick squeeze before drawing her guns. "I'll expect the rest once I get you somewhere safe."

As Dianna began dancing through the storm of bullets filling the air Eric was left wondering if he had just made a devil's bargain.

* * *

Dianna knew regular bullets wouldn't be able to pass through her shields, so all she needed to take out were the spell casters.

Taking a moment to mark every target in the room in her mind she began centering herself.

Seeking the calm at the center of all things she could feel the flow of arcane energies being unleashed in the room, it was a distraction, nothing more. Crossing her guns in front of her she began to intone the activation command. "Three for my brothers I place at home, two for my father at the crossroads I wait alone, one for my mother I hold in hand, open the gates of Muspelheim. Unlock!" She took aim. "Hel von Gaia!"

There was a moment of absolute stillness surrounding her. And then it was shattered by the raging ball of primordial fire intent on devouring everything in its path.

"Holy shit!" Eric almost pissed himself as he saw the swath of destruction that one shot left in its wake. "What the hell is that thing loaded with?"

"Something you don't want to get hit by." Said Pops from behind the bar. "So my advice is to stay the fuck down."

Eric nodded in agreement as Dianna squeezed of a second shot. "Good advice. I think I'll take it."

* * *

Lupus was losing bodyguards by the second. He spared a moment to break cover to look at who was killing his men. Its that dragon bitch! Already he could see the mouth of hell opening in front of her as she prepared to fire off another shot. A dark void in the world of life it was a summoning circle suspended in mid air.

He felt himself begin to shiver uncontrollably. "She's an artifact user. Someone get us the fuck out of here!"

Making any sort of noise was the worst thing he could have done. Both her guns were suddenly trained on him. And the third shot was going to be bigger and nastier than anything she had fired before.

Already a dragon born of flames was pulling its way free from the eye of the abyss in front of her. Its claws grasping the edge of darkness it shook it head and let loose a scream torn from the very depths of the abyss. Within its ever widening maw he caught a glimpse of the very same fires that forever scorched the lands of its birth.

"Oh shit." Said Lupus as the teleportation spell took hold. Grasping the sudden disorientation like a drowning man to a rope he prayed the flames wouldn't be able to follow.

* * *

Blowing the smoke from the barrels of her guns Dianna slipped them back into their holsters and said. "If anyone else feels like continuing?"

A chorus of 'No's!' greeted her statement.

"I thought not." Stooping to collect her prize she tossed a speechless Eric across her shoulder and smacked his ass. Not a bad prize for so little work.

"My bar . . ." Said Pops as he surveyed the damage. Considering what she had done the last time it really wasn't all that bad.

Not bothering to use the door Dianna stepped out of one of the massive holes that had been left by the passage of the fireballs. "Don't worry Pops. If you rebuild it. I'll come back."

* * *

"So where are we?" Said Eric as he lay back on the bed. Dianna had carried him the entire way. Refusing to tell him where they were going, or to even let him down and let him walk next to her.

Not that he had minded. She had to be the sexiest creature this side of the Nexus, and watching as she took her clothes off was giving him a raging hard on.

"A safe house I like to use whenever Pops is busy rebuilding his bar."

Letting the trench coat slip from her shoulders revealed a pure white undershirt. He could hardly wait until she took that off as well.

"My favorite coat." She slipped a taloned finger through a few good sized holes, checking to see if any of it was salvageable. "At least it has the holes instead of me." She hung it up in the closet. Next to a dozen others of the exact same make and model. Lifting the undershirt over her head she said. "Pity."

Eric's jaw hit the floor with an audible thud. The undershirt had been the only thing she had been wearing beneath the trench coat. Removing it revealed a perfect physique of such sculpted beauty that for a moment he wondered if she had been formed by the gods themselves rather than hatched from an egg.

She was already tugging at her belt. "You know you can start getting undressed as well. Not that I mind you watching. Since you're clearly enjoying the show."

Eric was pitching a tent that could have fit a family of four.

"Uh . . . right." He discarded his pants and was busy talking off his shirt when her soft touch made him hesitate.

"It's nice to see you so ready for me." She stroked the length of his blue black shaft. Teasing the spade shaped tip she said. "I would have so hated to have to use your tail to keep me company tonight."

"Yeah . . ." He could barely form the words. Her touch alone was an incredible sensation. He had never felt the sensation of magic being used during a hand job before. "That would have . . . been." She was coaxing him closer to the edge. Pushing him beyond the borders of normal pleasure. "Been a real shame. . . " She stopped just short of causing him to climax into her hand.

That would have ruined the fun. She thought as she pushed him backward. He was panting and in no condition to deny her anything. She straddled his hips.

"Waitaminute . . . Ummph!" She had silenced him with a kiss. Her mouth still tasting faintly of Firewine he felt his head begin to spin as she placed his hands against her breasts.

"You said you would pay me anything if I took you to safety." She pressed her body close to his. Letting the tip of him tease her nether lips until his body was aching to complete the joining she spoke to him in a voice that was held just above a whisper. "And what I want as payment is to feel you inside me."

It was all he could do to nod in agreement as his hands traced the curves of her body. The soft rises of her breasts. The smooth feel of her crimson scales that faded to white as they covered her stomach. And finally the heat of her sex aching with need.

She awarded him with a pleased smile as he held himself ready for her.

Sinking onto the length of his shaft she bit her lip as he stretched her in all the right places. Once he was completely inside her she let out a satisfied sigh.

Pinning him to the bed with her arms she thought. Now the fun can begin.

* * *

Eric had never been with anyone like Dianna before. She was incredible, the way she pressed herself against his body, using her fingers to explore everything. She even had some tail action going on. She was a woman who knew exactly what she wanted and how to get it.

Already he could feel his knot beginning to swell at the base of his cock. He was so close to the edge now, another push would set him off.

Riding him for all he was worth Diana felt the swelling press against her cunt. Pushing back harder than ever she felt him slip inside her, satisfying her need while pleasuring her at the same time.

Eric grabbed her hips and thrust for all he was worth. She was so tight around him. Squeezing him in every possible way he spilled himself inside her, refusing to hold anything back.

Dianna used every trick she knew to coax and tease every last bit of pleasure from him that she could.

Together they rode a simultaneous climax to the very heights of ecstasy.

When Eric could finally breath again he said. "I've never come so hard in my life."

Dianna wrapped her tail around his, enjoying the afterglow she said. "You don't have a gig or anything tomorrow, do you?"

Eric was mildly confused by the question. "No. Why?"

"Good. Because when I'm done with you." She smiled at him seductively while tracing a finger down his chest. "You're not going to be able to walk in the morning."
