Azure's Growth

Story by Sovrim Terraquian on SoFurry

So dragonien requested I write a scene focusing 100% on growth. Request fulfilled. Sovrim brews a growth potion. Azure drinks more than his fair share.

"A growth potion?" Azure rumbled. He made no effort to mask his disbelief as he swirled the milky, red fluid around the beaker. "You're nuts. There's no way you've actually made that." The blue-and-black dragon handed the container back to Sovrim and just shook his head. "I can't believe you tried to sneak me through security for this bullshit. Especially when you could've just gotten me a guest pass in the first place..."

"But you have to admit it was more fun trying to be sneaky about it! But okay, I'll go first," Sovrim said, lifting the beaker to his lips. The salamander-chameleon hybrid was decently sized himself, at nearly ten feet tall, but that was just half the size of his larger companion. He took just a small sip and set the glass down again. The changes were almost immediate. The hybrid nearly dropped the potion by misjudging the table's height, now that it no longer reached his waist. His lab coat became uncomfortably tight, then simply ripped apart, leaving him completely exposed. The hybrid was entirely unashamed of this and posed for the dragon, showing off his lithe body and the gently shifting shades of blue-green that crossed it. Sovrim gave a few teasing licks along Azure's stomach at first, then chest, then stood on his tip-toes to kiss the dragon's snout once it was within his reach.

Just as suddenly as the growth began, it ended. The hybrid was now a solid eighteen feet tall, placing his eyes level with the dragon's muzzle, which allowed him a perfect view of the slack-jawed snout before him. "Told you," Sovrim mused. He reached for the beaker again and offered it to the dragon for a second time. "So... care for a drink? I'll split the res-" Before the sentence was finished, Azure had grabbed the container and was guzzling it down.

As before, the potions effects were both immediate and powerful. But where the hybrid had just taken a sip to double in height, Azure gulped down almost a pint of the fluid before tossing the now-empty glass to his friend. Sovrim smirked and just braced himself for what was going to be a wild ride. The dragon felt an intense, pleasant warmth across his entire body as the effects kicked in. Though he wore just a loincloth, even that soon failed as his expanding form ripped the waist apart, sending tatters of cloth falling around his feet. He bumped one table out of the way, then another, then bumped his head upon the ceiling. "Fifty feet," Sovrim said, giving the ceiling's height. He stayed close to the dragon, as he knew he'd need that shelter soon enough. With the growth still going strong, the muscular dragon now had to crouch just to fit in the laboratory. All Sovrim could see above him were the black scales of the dragon's chest and stomach, as well as the now-exposed dragonbits dangling before his eyes. Azure was quite obviously enjoying it, but Sovrim resisted the temptation to play with the dragon for now.

Another few moments passed. The dragon's growing body had now pressed every lab table and device well back against the wall, while Sovrim stayed 'safe' between the expanding dragon's feet. Azure was getting tired of just crouching and waiting for things, though. He flexed his wings and effortlessly knocked a few lights from the ceiling. With a grin, he started to stand up, pushing away the lab's roof as if it were nothing more than a bedsheet. The cloud of debris obscured most of the dragon's lower body as he rose above it, revealing himself to the world. What remained of the building barely came to his knees and looked smaller with each passing minute. An alarm sounded below, which just made the dragon chuckle ominously. Yes, he had become quite the alarming presence...

Even now, Azure continued to grow. His expanding paws threatened to knock over the lab's walls. Azure flexed his toes - a casual movement that caused the floor to finally crack - then stepped forward and kicked down the wall in front of him. His paws came down on the soft, grassy earth, ground that sank in several feet under the weight of this titan. Trees came just halfway to his knees and looked entirely unimpressive compared to the majestic, scaled creature looming over them. The lab was in a suburban area, so Azure now towered over everything in eyeshot and dominated the view of anyone escaping the building. Most of the scientists ran for their cars; one didn't.

Sovrim shifted his colors to red in an effort to stand out from the lush grass, a trick that soon attracted Azure's attention as he watched the 'ants' scurrying about his feet. The dragon crouched down once more to take notice of the smaller one. Those heavy, black balls crushed what remained of the building with ease, leaving only a barren foundation and a pile of rubble. Azure very nearly picked up the hybrid but Sovrim balked at that and jumped back, shaking his head quickly. He shouted something but it wasn't loud enough for Azure to take notice. However, when he leapt forward and grabbed one of the dragon's fingers, Azure got the idea; the hybrid was afraid he'd get crushed even if the dragon wasn't trying to hurt him. That very thought sent another rush of power through the giant, which seemed to trigger another growth spurt. To help his friend (or partner-in-crime) out, the dragon opened the palm of his other hand beneath the hybrid, then carefully deposited him upon it. Shortly thereafter, the dragon placed Sovrim upon his shoulder, which made communication much easier.

"Jeez, Az, didn't they ever teach you to share?" Sovrim playfully chastised, now that the titan could hear him.

"No. They tried. I just didn't want to listen." Azure grinned broadly, which just frightened the few people who hadn't yet fled the scene of this ongoing, draconic disaster.

"Now that you're..." Sovrim paused as he tried to calculate the dragon's size. He'd had to crouch down just to touch the top of the building. From here, cars looked smaller than the dragon's toes; people were maybe just the size of a couple scales. The perspective made other comparisons challenging, but he estimated that if Azure were to lay down, he'd probably cover the length of a city block. "You're... big, care to go out for a night on the town?"

Azure's entire body rumbled as he chuckled, "You think they could handle me?" He stomped once upon the now-empty parking lot, which caused the pavement to buckle and cave in as if by a sinkhole. "No," Sovrim replied, now sporting a grin of his own. "I like the way you think..." Azure responded. The dragon started the walk toward the nearest major city, grinning all the way.
