[Milky Way Galaxy/ Camilla System/ Black Scorpion Brigand (Type 'C' Pirate War band) Controlled Territory/ Pirate War Ship Crimson/ Year 3,528]

"It's right behind us! Run!" Yelled a frantic crewman as he and the other scared survivors sprinted down what seemed to be like endless corridors one after another. The red strobe light continued to flicker and disorient the already frantic mixed species crew. Their footsteps echoed through the derelict space craft.

As the group turned a corner, a pirate trailing behind on the end was not fortunate enough to continue living as he was suddenly yanked into the darkness. His screams were cut abruptly.

"Quickly, behind that blast door!" Captain Omar shouted, his brown fur was stained with sweat and his fear clung to him like a second skin. Horrific screams followed him and the dwindling crew down every twist and corner as, one by one, each was pulled into the shadows. The captain's lungs burned and his thighs ached with pain but he had to keep running, as taking even a second to hesitate and look back meant certain death.

"Clark, no!" a shout from behind announced.

His mind darted in panic. Any bend or corridor could have any number of creatures lurking in the darkness. Soon Omar's body began to tire and he would not be able to get away. Months of fighting against Valor government soldiers had not prepared him for these horrors. His most elite pirates cowered like children in the wake of their deaths and he could not blame them; all bets were off against these creatures. It was every man and woman for themselves.

"Menvar!" Another pirate shouted. Omar found himself now at the door to the communications room; he fumbled with his pass card, causing it to fall to the floor. Struggling, the captain could not pick it up for the life of him. His heart raced and, his palms were shaking and covered in sweat.

"Get the jek'kin door open you bastard!"The closest mercenary soldier behind him ordered in his thick Kal'Manor accent.

"Access denied." droned the monotone voice of the ship's computer as the door's locking mechanism flashed red. Bullet fire sounded off into the hallway in a vain attempt to slow down the pursuers; the flashing of the muzzles illuminated the tall creatures for brief periods with every shot.

He swiped the card numerous times, despite hearing the dreaded words over and over again: "Access denied." It was poison to his ears. "Just open the fucking door!" Omar yelled, smashing his fist against the reinforced glass pane.

The mercenary soldier swore in his native tongue before turning his head to the captain "What's taking so long-!?" He yelled before empting the rest of his magazine into the darkness. In a flash, a blade shot from the shadows, impaling him through the chest. A spray of crimson painted the walls and faces of the horrified crew members. The blade had a long, iron chain attached to it which suddenly tightened, and in a moment's notice, the victim was reeled back into the darkness like fish on a line.

"Access...granted." The door finally chimed with a green light.

The dwindling group ran into the next room, tripping over one another as the door locked shut behind them. Captain Omar quickly made his way over to the main communications computer to send out a distress signal. He did not care if Valor threw him and his crew into the darkest prison on a Tartarus world. Ten life-times worth of mind probing by Valor psychic officers would be a paradise compared to spending just a single second more trapped aboard the Crimson.

A pirate acknowledged with a hand gesture that the captain could speak to send out a live distress call.

"This is a distress call to any Valor ships in the area! Unknown hostiles have boarded our ship and we have massive casualties! The enemy is nothing we've seen before. They are not human, macrial, vulphus or ornithor. I repeat, these are unknown hostiles!"

The door began to buckle as the creatures slammed their grotesque forms against the frame.

"To any Valor ships, bring the heaviest ordnance you can. These hostiles are immune to small arms fire! I repeat; they are jek'kin bullet proof!"

The secured door was now on its last legs with one more push the invaders would be on top of them.

"We need immediate rescue!" He yelled frantically. The reinforced door quickly gave way and was thrown into the room.

As the monster stepped into the communications room, the damaged lights gave illumination against its linen wrapped body. Crude metal blades served as the monster's limbs, taking the place of its forearms and legs. By the time the captain could open his mouth to issue an order; the creature had already gone through the entire crew with lightning speed, carving its way through flesh and armor with surgical precision. Omar fell to his knees, as warmth left his body and dark blood poured from his chest into a pool in front of him. He hazily looked at his would be killer but his gaze was met only with the covered up eyes of the monstrosity.

"What in God's name are you...?" The captain asked with his dying wish.

The creature replied not with words, but with an action that separated the captain's head from his shoulders.

The pirate's ship, Crimson, grew quiet until it became the tomb for the former crew of the ship. The derelict space craft drifted through space, giving off it's now pointless distress call. The halls of the vessel echoed with the ominous sound of metal on metal as the creatures scurried through the ship like an infestation.

Soon a hero would rise up to stop the old darkness that threatens to devour every galaxy as it tried so long ago. Arjun Fiaz would be that hero and will become the Justicar, and this is his legend.

A Realm Divided

Legend of the Justicar

Act1/Part 1

[Milky way Galaxy/ Valor Controlled Territory/ Sepress Cluster/ Orion Star Base/ Residential District/ Star Cycle 534, Year 3,528]

"Good morning Orion station! Today our home team the amazing 'Rough riders' play against Olympus station's 'Artic wolves! It was a close game last season but hopefully our boys have improved their defence in midfield! But before he can have Oliver give us his take we go to Connor on the weather!"

Arjun Fiaz awoke to his alarm clock. He let out a long yawn as he sat up before letting on a groan as his back was still aching from yesterday along with his knees. "I just had to piss off my sergeant didn't I...?" he complained to himself. "Radio increase volume" he added shortly after out loud. Empty beer bottles shuffled against his feet that were all situated around his bed which consisted of a single worn out mattress on the ground. His entire apartment reeked like a mix of vomit and old pizza that only he could stand as he had grown a custom to it for so long.

Arjun was by no means a very large man; he was short for a human standing roughly the same height as other people of his race around shoulder height. He considered himself fairly built in strength, as he had to be to keep up with all the patrols and mandatory fitness tests to be able to function in the Marine Corps but he always was able to pass just under the bar every time.

The news began to play louder inside the one bedroom apartment as he made his way to the small washroom that was just big enough to fit the bare essentials inside. He splashed a handful of cold water onto his face that he had cupped with both hands. The brown skinned human looked into the mirror at his face, tired and worn out the best description he could give himself as he could not remember the last time he had gotten a full night's rest. Arjun looked back at the radio when some of the news had caught his attention,

"Valor Military forces have increased in the Sepress Cluster over the decline in sudden pirate activates in both the outer colony worlds and the highway traveling along between Star Base Atlanta and Orion. Officials have given the statement to remain calm that it is only a precaution but a few citizens have this to say..."

Arjun let out a small chuckle that more military presence had been deployed to the outer colonies for once instead of sitting on their collective asses back on more 'important' core worlds like they had always had done. He liked the idea of having a break and letting some other platoon deal with the locals who had trouble not breaking their translating ear pieces. It had been almost a full year since Arjun was stationed on Orion Star Base that's single purpose was to ward off any pirate or slaver attacks on nearby colonies, but the odd chance that a warlord would get bold enough to attack a Valor colony directly would result in Arjun and several squads of fully armed marines to go and eliminate them usually under a couple hours.

He walked back to his unmade bed and found his military uniform on his night stand crisp and folded with not a single mark, smudge or stain on it. The state of his entire apartment completely contrasted his clean uniform that he picked up carefully in both hands and walked into the living room.

"Radio off, Television on...news" He ordered without much thought as he sat back onto his couch and pulled his pants over his green boxers.

The wall in front of his couch displayed a holographic picture which now visually showed the anchor-man head and his partner sitting behind their desk. The anchor head who was reporting on the sudden lack of pirate attacks was an older man who could have been just over fifty years old and his co-host was an alien of the macrial race. The alien wore the same blue and white uniform as all Valor staff employees much like Arjun's own military version but theirs didn't have a rank on their right shoulder or designation number on the back of it. The female macrial had bright orange fur that was well groomed and her long floppy ears had been tied back in a style most of their race seemed to do at a workplace. Some people have often compared the macrial race to kangaroos; one of earth's wildlife as their bodies did resemble them from their long feet to their tails. Arjun stood up with his hands pulling the shirt over his torso and preceded to head out the door knowing today was going to be another boring patrol shift.

"Television off." He ordered as the door closed shut behind him.

[Milky Way Galaxy/ Valor Controlled Territory/ Sepress Cluster/ Orion Star Base/ Armory Station IV/ Star Cycle 534, Year 3,528]

Arjun gave an accepting nod to the lone fully armed Valor marine that guarded the door to one of Orion's many armories. The marine wore the traditional mass produced Standard Power Battle Armor or SPBA for short which consisted of one light blue nanobyte under garment that the marine wore over their entire body leaving only the face uncovered, for body armor itself the SPBA comes with several armor plating that covered most of the body to protect the user from almost all forms of damage.

"Are you ready for the long road ahead?" The marine asked in his monotone voice that was filtered through his helmet that took out any form of accent and emotion. The marine was a giant of a man; standing several feet above most races in Valor only second to the gryphon like humanoids known as the vulphus. He knew of Marco when he finished basic little over a year ago, the man excelled in close combat, hell he won the wrestling championship for his squad for four years straight.

"Yea, although this time I would prefer not the asshole end of the galaxy for once." Arjun griped.

"Well you just might get your wish today." Marco answered. Arjun was not a fan of how every single marine in uniform sounded the same way but he knew it was for the better as not only did the SPBA helmet offer protection but the voice filter would also translate to any language of Valor's multiple species.

"Why's that?" Arjun asked with his interest peaked.

The marine took a step closer before answering, "Apparently several key pirate fleets that have been a problem in this sector for years have either started being reported as destroyed or...vanished."

"Vanished? You're kidding right? That's what the news was going on about? I thought they just retreated." Arjun chuckled at his squad mate who talked like he was telling a ghost story "Pirates don't start disappearing all of a sudden, maybe they started shooting themselves over whatever."

"I don't know man..." The marine was now only feet inches away as so he could whisper, "HQ is pretty damn quiet all of a sudden, normally with something like this we would have a major broadcast over the huge decline in pirate activities... medal ceremonies for victories and all that, not just release a vague public statement. Something big is defiantly going down when intelligence gets quiet like this; it's the calm before the storm I tell you. "

"You are crazy Marco, you know that right? I also think whatever drugs you are taking to come up with these scares, you should pass some to me next time alright?" Arjun laughed before moving past him into the armory.

Arjun past several marines who were wearing their full gear with others only in their military clothing, he past one fully geared marine that was being passed several ammo magazines for the standard M63 combat rifle behind a glass screen where a quartermaster sat behind with walls of stored weapons and ammunition where being kept. The quartermaster was of the vulphus race, large humanoid gryphon like people that would consider Marco to be average size to them. The alien had a long scar across his face that passed through his beak, no doubt caused from a previous pirate attack.

After passing several more marines who ranged from all over Valor's many ethnic backgrounds that were being given their assigned weapons that included, combat rifles, shotguns, sniper rifles, with the odd and advanced nova plasma rifle that Arjun always wished of using but he didn't have the training nor experience to even think about operating such a dangerous weapon of destruction. Arjun came to the end of the armory where the walls were lined with unmanned power armors; the room was extremely well clean to the point where he could still smell the strong sent of the cleaning products used.

"Private Fiaz?" A macrial officer asked as she waddled up to the taller human.

"Reporting for duty, sir." Arjun saluted first

"You're late." The grey furred lieutenant spoke with her arms crossed. Arjun scratched his left arm and as he was about explain but he was cut off, "This is the third time this week you have been late Fiaz, so give me one good damn reason why I shouldn't ship you off station and kick you out of the marines?"

"Well...I...uh..." Arjun tried to defend himself but couldn't form a tangible response.

"You're lazy, immature and if Valor didn't need as many boots as we can get in the outer colonies you would have been kicked out a long time ago." The officer spoke with her words cold as ice.

"Hey I passed boot camp just fine thank you very much."

"Well congratulations you completed what a half brain dead moron can do although in your case I would be insulting the moron as he would know dare to tarnish the marine name by being late!"

Arjun moved past the superior officer who had her fill for chewing his ass out and walked out to his set of SPBA that was hooked up to a generator with several other suits of power armor that were in the middle of being charged. He grabbed hold of the blue jump suit and slipped it over his clothing where it felt like putting on a second skin as it molded to the shape of his body, next he grabbed the heavy boots from the power generator where it took all his strength just to move one of them at a time. He stepped into the left boot first and went through the many different locks that beeped for everyone one that was put in place until a series of flashing green lights told Arjun it was fully operational.

He could still feel the glare of the officer on his neck as he had his back faced towards her; he then placed his foot into the other boot where he stood up. The gloves once again took both his combine strength to lift but when one was locked into place he could easily lift the last glove in one hand due to his power armor as each piece connected to the blue suit had increase his reflexes and strength in each particular area that was armored. One by one Arjun was soon clad in the blue and white colored armor with the symbol of Valor's embodied on his left shoulder pad.

He held the helmet of his armor and looked directly its visor as he could see his own reflection stare back at him in the single view port that ran horizontally across the helmet's front. His face was dirty as hell and he could make out the outline of a new beard that had started to take shape. He then flipped it around and placed it over his head where his Heads Up Display flickered to life. His HUD showed him his body and began giving green check marks to each of his limbs to confirm it was locked correctly and there would be no danger in its operation.

"Welcome...Private Fiaz. It is Saturday May 12th ....you have zero new messages. Power generator at one-hundred percent " reported his suit's artificial intelligence in a toneless voice.

Arjun looked down on the officer who nodded for him to move onto the armory to acquire his authorized weaponry which he did happily as always finding an excuse to blow stuff up on his patrol was a favorite pass time of his, even if it did get him into all worlds of trouble that he couldn't afford anymore. He met with the scarred quartermaster he passed earlier who was more interested in listening to the radio then he did issuing weapons.

"Serial number..." The quarter master asked like he did a million times before earlier in the day, his attention was directed at his holo-pad. His eagle like arms holding his holo-pad in one hand and the other supporting his head as his elbow rested on the desk in front of him.

"Fifty-six, oh,oh, dash nine" Arjun answered half distracted as he looked at the stored weaponry on the walls behind the vulphus who was slumped in his chair.

"Arjun Fiaz?" He asked who now pulled up his information on a holo-terminal that was opposite of where his rested his holo-pad.

Arjun nodded who was half distracted from the amount of firepower this small armory held. The quartermaster stood up from his chair and walked towards the large wall where he quickly turned his head to double check the serial number before taking off a couple weapons and supplies from the wall in what took a few trips back and forth.

"There we go one M63 combat rifle with..." the quarter master spoke as he entered his report into a data pad, "Seven magazines, and one F-76 Raptor sidearm with four magazines..." Arjun took the weapons one by one and placed them on his power armor's built in generator on his backside where they were magnetically held in place. "...and finally two fragmentation grenades." The quarter master finished.

Arjun stored the last of his items away and headed out of the armory where a marine that wasn't Marco was standing at the exit shaking his head in disapproval. The marine's armor was a lot more decorative than his own standard blue and white gear; he had a gold trim around his armor that illuminated brightly whenever he moved. His helmet bore a large red crest much like the ancient roman soldiers back in earth's history that further signified his rank as a lieutenant. In addition to Arjun's own weaponry the high ranked marine had a long sword attached at his waist in a decorative scabbard that all officers of Valor wore for both ceremony and combat.

"You know she's going to keep treating you like shit if you keep fucking up in the field right?" The marine asked.

"Hey that farmer had it coming! You were there Jonathan you can back me on that." Arjun argued

"You broke his legs...in front of his wife."

"We got the pirate cache didn't we?"

He shook his head at his fellow marine "Then there was the other time you destroyed that 'slaver head quarters'"

"Ok that was a bad call on my part but how was I supposed to know what a water treatment plant looked like?" Arjun defended himself.

"Look you really need to start shaping up in the next couple missions you are already treading on thin ice, now let's head to the briefing for our assignme-..." John stopped himself in mid-sentence as the macrial officer stepped out from the armory where both Arjun and John saluted her immediately.

"You see private Fiaz, John here is an exceptional soldier; the youngest marine ever to win the medal of excellence, took down the entire Blood Horizon pirate war band with only a couple squads with no support and personally saved the command staff of a planetary defence force during the night storm campaign."

"Sir, you cannot give me all the credit I had some really good men and women with me those days even Arjun helped during night storm." John answered.

"I do not even know why you even bother with that failure." She said coldly as if Arjun was not even in the same room, "You have a perfect military record and I want you to live long enough to join the Black Stars and not before Arjun here decides to pull some stupid shit again and causes you to earn a demotion."

"Sir Arjun is a fine soldier...he just needs some...work that's all he's not completely stupid."

"Yea I'm not completely stup- wait." Arjun said at the 'compliment'.

"Alright John it's a shame seeing such a good soldier being held back like this but it's your call." The officer said before taking her own leave.

Arjun waited for the kangaroo-esque alien to be out of ear shot, "Bitch." He muttered under his breath. John shook his head in disappointment in him soon after.

"Look we have an easy patrol schedule today I imagine, so just try not to break anything today alright?" John asked of his fellow marine.

"I guess I better start getting my music play list from the extranet ready so I won't die from complete boredom." He replied back as he pressed several buttons on his built in computer located on his wrist

"That's the spirit." John smiled under his helmet before pointing to the left of them with a gesture of his head, "Now the sooner we get to the briefing the sooner we can be out of these tin cans and get a beer afterwards. Arjun nodded in agreement and the two Valor marines walked down the halls of Orion Station.

[Milky Way Galaxy/ Valor Controlled Territory/ Sepress Prime Cluster/ Orion Star Base/ Administration District/ New Arrivals Sector/ Star Cycle 534, Year 3,528]

Orion Star Base was not by all means the busiest of all places; there were a number of vendors from the outer colonies that would peddle their wares to other colonists or station workers but for the most part Orion severed as a glorified truck stop for supply ships to and from Core Worlds to the outer colonies. Although Arjun did not mind the slow paced environment onboard the star base as even if it was in the ass end of space he liked the atmosphere as it made it easier to fill out the minimum two year service in the Marine Corps.

Jonathan was in front of him by only a couple meters easily towering over the other staff members and civilians thanks to the power armor that they wore. Arjun noticed the usual suspect of personalities that would drop by weekly, by one vendor that sold vulphus culinary cooking from their home world stood four grizzled pilots in their greasy uniforms. They were a mixed species crew which was normal for the most part; the one macrial of the four was busy hitting on the female vulphus merchant by complimenting on her more prominent features that wasn't just her bright white wings. The others consisted of two other vulphus males and one female human that Arjun would walk right over and ask her out if it weren't for the fact he had patrol in under an hour.

"Pig!" The vendor shouted causing both John and Arjun to turn to see the three pilots laugh at the macrial who had the largest imprint from a backhand that they had ever seen.

Arjun stopped Jonathan with a tap on the shoulder and pointed to another marine who was in full body like themselves only he had his helmet resting under his right arm. The male macrial had bright red fur and his long ears were tied back to help fit them in his helmet that was modified to the shape of his head. Arjun's HUD showed his name, rank and status of health on the right side of his body whenever his field of view made connection to the alien's own armor.

"There's Will the ol' bugger." John stated almost surprised to see him not already in the briefing room as he's the always first one to show up, bright eyed and bushy tail.

Private Williodison stood in front of a smaller, more petite macrial who held his armored hands in her open palms. "Just one more week and then we will be golden alright?" he said with the largest smile on his face. Just before the smaller brown macrial was about to speak both John and Arjun walked up to them where Will atomically saluted the gold trimmed sergeant out of shear reflex. "Sir!" Private Williodison Higgs announced.

"It's alright now Will. "John said giving a casual salute back, "Were not on duty just yet." The sergeant then turned his focus on the sweet looking girl, "And this must be the lovely woman who has been sending you so many care packages and keeping up the squad from sleeping with how long you too call each other.."

"Yes that would be me! It's good to finally see you two in person!" She smiled back in an upbeat mood.

Williodison carefully grasped her hand in his own before adding on, "Just told Elena here than after my post here on Orion is done then we will go on the Sera cruise liner around the moons of Prometheus nine!"

"A cruise!?" Arjun said before letting out a whistle, "How long did you take to save up for that?"

"About two months and I had to eat instant ramen for every meal but...it was worth it!" Williodison spoke with glee.

"And I love him very much for it!" Elena spoke right after before planting a kiss on his forehead that matted down his brown fur.

Williodison took his helmet from under his arm and laced it on his head be fully suited for the briefing. "I'll be back in a day honey, admiration can show you were my apartment is here." His voice was now both monotone and flavorless.

"I'll see you when you get back." She said before wrapping herself against herself around the armored solider who accepted her affection by returning with a hug and placing his chin on top of her warm head.

"I love you." Williodison said softly into her ear in which Elena replied, "Just be safe please."

The armored macrial let go of his girlfriend before joining his two human squad members on the way to the briefing. Jonathan as always was in front of the team with both Arjun and Will walking adjacent to one another, almost every guard they past saluted their lieutenant but not just out of rank, higher officials would salute him as well out of sheer respect for his military career. John was becoming a rising war hero against the pirates who seemed to have a never ending grudge in raiding supply ships or ransacking colonies in the outer worlds.

"So you're going to become a Black Star eh?" Arjun said to Jonathan, "When were you going to tell us?"

John continued to walk at a steady pace as he answered, "Command as already authorized my training for the Special Forces but I wanted to go on this last patrol with you guys before I'm off, you know I'm not one for big parties I would have liked to not cause a big commotion."

Will gave a light punch into his sergeant's shoulder, "When were you going to tell us!?" The macrial asked in excitement for his friend before turning to Arjun," How did you find out?"

"After the major chewed my ass out, she then spilled the beans on John's new promotion." Arjun answered.

"Holy crap, John's going to become a goddamn Black Star."

John held his hand out onto a security panel for the door's locking mechanism that the hallway that walked into ended up at. The door gave a green light over the device to show it had been unlocked for the trio to enter the restricted area for non-military personal.

"I still have to go through training, and then there is the surgery to along with it. " John answered as they passed by a handful of vulphus and macrial marines who were eating their lunch in a relatively small cafeteria. "I'm going to miss you guys once my papers go through after this patrol."

Soon the three came up to the open doors that lead to the hall that their platoon normally was briefed on their weekly assignments before they were shipped out to outer colony worlds.

[Milky Way Galaxy/ Valor Controlled Territory/ Sepress Cluster/ Orion Star Base/ Briefing Room A-2/ Star Cycle 534, Year 3,528]

Private Arjun Fiaz sat in one of the many rows of the platoon's briefing room where the soldiers, engineers and medics he worked with for over a year now were also were seated in. There was a good mix of human, macrial, and vulphus with the odd ornithor alien that Arjun himself rarely saw as when they joined Valor they had still no real form of space flight. The ornithor aliens were best described as humanoid platypuses that were only a couple feet taller than the average human and had much brighter color fur than that of the macrials.

The captain of the platoon walked up the podium that was at the end of the room where all of the rows of chairs were facing and just like his marines he too was in full combat gear making everyone in the room look exactly the same if it weren't for different species and body types. The vulphus officer wore the same armor that Jonathan had down to the gold trim but his large feathered wings where covered in armor plating making it impossible for him to fly but it was worth the cost for added protection. His helmet was resting on the podium modified for his race to have a narrower face plate to make room for his beak.

"Let's settle down boys and girls." The high ranked official said as the noise of the room slowly began to dissolve in the large auditorium. "I have some good news for you all today; we will not be patrolling some dust bowl that the pirates never decide to show up on." The captain's announcement was met with a hearty laughter and cheer as he knew his men would rather watch a crippled turtle race than to go out on another uneventful assignment. He pressed a button on his podium that caused the entire auditorium to grow dark allowing for the holo projectors located around the great hall to project the three-dimensional image of numerous solar systems that the platoon was all too familiar with.

"...As you know pirate activity in the outer colonies have dropped significantly in only a few days...to the point where command thinks this is more than a string of good luck on our behalf. Now while It is normal for pirate warlords to attack one another to gain more territory...this is a somewhat odd case as not only do we have reports of destroyed pirate war bands, but none of the major pirate gangs have increased in number...instead all of them are losing ground...fast."

One of the marines moved in his seat to sit himself more comfortably before talking, "Or maybe the pirates finally couldn't stand the smell of one another and went into a civil war, was only a matter of time before their 'alliance' would end, hell gorilla spiders going loose on their ships make better sense than some boogieman or Rambo taking out the pirates."

"Even so corporal...that is what command suspects that a third unknown party has been hitting the pirates hard from all flanks" The captain said before clearing his throat, "High Command has chosen not to risk the threat of this third party growing in power and threating colonies so command has brought out battle groups Rising Star and Hammer of Earth into active duty."

"Two...two friggen battle groups, that's like six armadas! Crap, just how big of a threat are we talking here?" One macrial medic asked out loud.

"I'm sure it's only a precaution" The captain said to reassure the nervous alien who had her helmet off. "Now for our task at hand..." he continued.

The vulphus captain pressed a few more buttons on the podium to bring out the holo-projectors on either side of him that showed a damaged pirate cruiser that must have looked like it went through hell and then some.

"Command received a distress call from this pirate ship containing this message." The captain said when he pressed a button on the data pad he carried in his left hand.

"This...this is the r-rebel ship... Crimson... requesting h-h-help!" The distress call was filled with static and the room grew quiet as the frantic voice of the pirate filled the air "_U-under attack, require assistance! Enemies are not-"_the call was then suddenly cut off as that was all was recorded.

"Several scout probes have confirmed that the ship is alone and not one of the pirate's traps they are so keen are doing in the past, so command wants us to take control of the cruiser and interrogate the pirates for information on what has been happening to them in the past days." He added.

Arjun spoke out with his arms crossed, "So you're telling us that the boogiemen...or spiders have suddenly gotten sloppy and let a ship slip past them without being destroyed?"

"Exactly it looks like we got our break; now move out marines we got some pirates to save." The captain ordered before turning off the holo-emitters.
