Finally, chapter two. How does everyone like it?

The door creaks open slowly and the light from the hallway enters into the dark room, making me unable to see the anything but the vague figure of not a adolesent otter, but a fully grown one. The bedroom light flicks on to reveal Tyler's father in full a full Templar uniform. Shocked by the sudden appearance of the unexpected otter, it takes me a second too long to hide my presence. His eyes lock on mine as I fade into invisibility. He closes the door blocking my escape into the hallway and locks the door the block any intruders from his work.

He says to nowhere in particular, "I know you're in here. There's no point in hiding."

My invisiblity spell fades, and I reply, "How did you know I was here?"

He smirks and says with cockily, "Like I wouldn't know if a mage step foot into my house without invitation. I know that you are Tyler's friend, but I want you to leave, and ceace all communication with Tyler immedately. This is my first and only warning."

"But, I was invited here, by Tyler. I needed a place to stay, so I called Tyler and asked him if I could stay here, and he said it was okay."

"Hmm, it must have slipped his mind to ask me and Martha if it was alright with us. In any case, why did you magic into my home if you were invited?"

I blush faintly, "I knew that Tyler deserved the full truth on why I needed a place to stay, I would have to tell him that I am a mage, and what better way to do that than to show him."

"And why is it that you need a place to stay, exactly? Don't you think that I deserve the full truth as well?"

Oh, shit! He already knows that I'm a mage, and just my luck that he's a Templar, I can't tell him that I'm gay too, "My dad also found out that I was a mage, and he thought I was spawn of Satan or something of the like. He told me that he has no son and that he never wanted to see me again. So I left."

Hopefully that would cover it.

"Okay, so what were you doing for him to find out that you were a wielder of the arcane?"

My acting skills are really paying off now. I give him a bashful look and say quietly, "I got lazy and was cleaning my room with a levitation spell..."

"Well, I'm sorry that he thinks of your kind so lowly, but as I'm sure you know, we Templars don't have much patience with mages either, but I will be fair, you do seem like a good one, so I will tolerate you...for now. I will warn you that you will need my permission for using ANY magic in my house, is that understood?"

"Yes, sir. Thank you for having me.", and I add, "Oh, one more thing, my bag is enchanted to be bigger on the inside. All it has in it is my clothes, computer, supplies and grimoire. I hope that it is alright."

He thinks for a minute and replys, "I suppose so, as long as your grimoire is under lock and key away from prying eyes."

"Yes, sir. It is."

"Good. Then welcome to my home, Jay. I will take my leave.", and with that he turned to the door and left, turning the light off before closing the door.

That was a close one. I went to sit on Tyler's bed to relax.

Not thirty seconds later I hear the door being opened, slowly, heasantly. This time it's Tyler. He turns the light on and looks at me in shock, "How did you get in here?! I was in the living room until I got your text and came down here. You couldn't have come though the door."

I look at him with a serious expression, "Tyler, I'm a mage."

"A MAGE? Do you think I'm joking?! I was worried about you, getting kicked out like that!"

"Tyler, I'm serious. Follow me outside and I'll prove it."

He looks at me in disbelief and says, "Okay, I'll humor you."

We walk outside and to the park a couple of blocks away. I look around and see that no one but us was within seeing distance from us.

I keep my eyes on his as I levitate about 8 feet into the air.

His eyes go wide in shock. He stands there staring at me for a good ten seconds before saying, "So you are too, huh?"

I look at him in confusion before he comes up to height with me, levitating a good 8.5 feet off the ground.

We both say in unison, "Wow, my best friend's a mage."
