Part 2 of the Interpol Files. Full of mystery, werewolves, and a build-up to something bigger......

Montreal, Quebec, Canada. Abandoned apartment. 4:02 PM, local time.

A large figure dressed in a heavy coat breaks down the door to a derelict room. He steps in, carrying some suitcases. He places them on the ground and takes off his hat, revealing himself to be a very familer hippo.

"Sorry about the door guys." said Murray as Sly and Bentley entered behind him. "It's just real hard to open the door when your hands are full. Plus, I think the knob was frozen."

"It's alright, Murray." Sly told him, as Murray tried to fit the door back into place. Sly scanned the room. He noticed the cracks in the walls, the broken (and outdated) TV, and the various stains and dustbunnies that put made the place scream 'condemned.'

"Not one of the finer places this gang has stayed, Bentley." commented the master theif.

"Well, it was the only place I could find that wouldn't have been bugged before hand." explained Bentley, starting to set-up the generator he had brought. Sly could hear a loud 'crunch' as soon as he stepped near the kitchen counter. He looked at the sole of his foot to see that he had stepped on a large cockroach.

"Bentley, I hate to disapoint you, but my foot tells me that this place is already bugged." said Sly.

One of the arms in Bentley's wheelchair reached over to hand Sly a tissue. "Here you go. This place has been empty since the snowstorm a few years back, so who knows what kind of germs that bug could have picked up since then."

"Thanks." Sly told him, wiping the mess off his foot. "Why don't I go and take some recon photos well you clean this place up a bit?"

"And well you're doing that," Murray said, putting the door back into place once more, "I'm going to that pizza place we passed along the way to order three large canadian pizzas with extra everything!"

"Don't forget to get something for us too." Sly reminded him.

"Oh yeah." Murray responded. "Here, let me open the door for you, buddy." Murray struggled to budge the knob, but, like he said, it was frozen.

"If it's all the same, I'm going to use the window." Sly said, grabbing his cane and Binocucom. As he slipped out the window, he could hear Murray shouting "Fool! No meer door can hold back The Murray!" and the sound of wood smashing.

...

A few minutes later, Sly was overlooking the snow-covered city, waiting for Bentley to call. He liked the majesty of it; it reminded him a bit of Paris, although one of the diffrences was in Paris, the worst Sly had to worry about in winter was Carmelita showing less skin.

"Sly, do you read me?" Bentley buzzed in over the Binocucom.

Sly quickly responded "Read you loud and clear. Where to first?"

"Well, while I look up some more details on this Pierre Loup-Garou fellow, you can take some recon photos of what his gang is up to, but be careful! There are lots of ice patches on the rooftops and you can't risk slipping!" Bentley told him.

"Gotcha, just hope the heat is on by the time I get back." Responded Sly. He soon got straight to work, snapping photos of Pierre's men getting protection money from a store clerk, the underfunded cops and the 'buggers' who bugged the rooms all over the city. It's when Sly got over to city hall that things started to get unusual.

Sly stood on a branch of a tree and took a photo of the mayor, a goose, being threatened by Pierre Loup-Garou himself. He was skinny with long arms and legs, which was odd for a wolverine. His hair was combed down with thick gel, and around his neck, he wore a gold medallion around his neck with a full moon on it.

"Mr. mayor," he said, in a french-canadian accent, "I understand you want to get re-elected this year. You know what that means, don't you?"

"It means I have to give your cut of the city's treasury so you keep the things you and your goons stay out of the spot light so it looks like I'm cleaning up the city." the mayor responded, with a sigh.

"Yes, only now, my price has gone up. About $5,000 more, to be exact." the mobster told him.

The mayor jumped out his his chair and shouted "But that would bankrupt the whole city! Half the city will lose their jobs! I've already had to cut corners for the police deparment!"

Pierre picked up his medallion with his hands, showing it off and telling the mayor, "Mr. mayor, you don't want me to use this, do you?"

The goose shrieked and cowered under his desk. "OK, OK, OK! I'll get you want you want! I'll give it to you in three days! Just don't use that thing!"

"Thank you." Pierre told him, without even raising his voice, as he walked out of the room with the mayor in tears.

Bentley radioed to Sly, "Well.....that was odd."

"I'll say." agreed Sly, still crouched on the tree branch, "I haven't seen someone so scared of a shiney object since Murray mistoke that mylar balloon that got stuck to the van for a spaceship that was following us."

"Either way, you should get back to the safehouse. I think we got enough intell for now." explained Bentley.

Back at the hideout, Sly slipped back through the window. The safehouse was now looking much better. Granted, it was no palace, but it now looked like you could live in it without freezing to death (felt that way).

"Nice job fixing up the place." commented Sly.

"Thanks. The bug bombs I bought off Thief-Net double as air fresheners. And I managed to get the heat working." Bentley told him.

As he finished off his second box of pizza, Murray handed Sly a box with a medium pepperoni inside. Sly thanked him and asked "So, could you dig up anything else up on this guy?"

"Why yes." answered Bentley, "His family originally come from eastern Europe, but they settled in france in the 1400's. When fur trappers first started to come to Canada, his great-great-great-great grandfather came home to strike it rich, wearing a medallion he stole from a man's grave, the very medallion that we saw Pierre wearing. He made it rich catching animals for their pelts, being said to 'run alongside the beasts themselves.' That's how they earned their last name, Loup Garou, or as we say in english, werewolf."

"WEREWOLF?!?!?" Murray shouted, almost choking on his slice of pizza.

"Don't worry, Murray. There is no such thing as a werewolf." Bentley reassured him.

"That's what YOU say, but look at all the things we have run into over the years. Mz. Ruby, the Contessa, the Mask of Dark Earth. So I think what's real or not is on thin ice right now!" he shouted.

"Calm down, Murray. Even if this guy is a werewolf, you're.... Murray! You could take him out with a few sharp punches."

Murray exhaled sharply and responded in a much calmer way. "Oh yeah, you're right. Still, I'll going to collect some silver stuff just in case."

"This is impressive, Bentley. How did you get this info?" asked Sly.

Bentley told him, "Partially from history books, and partially because Pierre likes to brag on social media. Now, hand me your binocucom, so you can use the recon photos to plan what we are going to do next."

...

Meanwhile, in a fancy hotel across town....

Inspector Fox stands in a hotel suite as Webb scans to room with a special EMP device.

"Are you almost finished?" she asked, tapping her foot impatiently. "I can't belive we've wasted a whole day we could have spent looking for Cooper killing bugs."

"Well, we can't let the mob know what we are up to. That's why we are sleeping in sperate rooms. In this town, if more then three unrealated people rent a space, the mob barges in and kicks you out. You're lucky I was able to get you a suite to yourself. The rest of us are in tiny rooms barely big enough for one of us."

As the EMP device picked up and killed another bug, Carmelita asked "So remind me agian, who are the other people you got on the squad?"

"One second." answered Webb, as he killed the final bug. "OK, we can talk now. There's Jason Hernandez. Panther. Fastest runner in his class. Five years in the Chicago PD. According to his profile, he can be a little intense, but he get's the job done, nice and legal. There's Baz Wilson. Kangaroo. Weapons expert. Knows four types of martial arts. Spent eleven years in the armed forces. And finally, Larry Khumalo. Elephant. Spent 30 years on the bomb squad, is an expert with explosives."

"Got it. Thanks for cleaning out the room." Carmelita told him.

As Webb walked out, he said over his shoulder, "Well, I might have to come back tomarrow night. If they stop reading a bug, they send some guys over to replace it."

"WHAT!?!?!" growled Carmelita. "You know, I could just shoot you right now."

"Yes, but that would blow your cover, miss Fox, or should I say, miss Amanda Thomas?" Webb responded, smiling smugly.

Carmelita growled at Webb as he closed the door, walking down the hall.

...

Three days later....

Sly and the gang had everything set up. They managed to convince the people to stop pay protection, they got rid of the 'buggers,' and getting the police more supplies from off Theif-Net.

Sly and Bentley were on their way to Pierre Loup-Garou's hideout, where the mayor was going to give him his money.

"Is Murray ready with the destraction to keep the gangsters and the cops busy?" asked Sly.

"Let's check the police radio." answered Bentley, pressing a button on his wheelchair.

From a speaker on his chair, the voice of a french police officer came out.

"Calling all units!" he shouted, "Officer requesting back-up 5th-and-Industral! There is this crazy hippo guy going around attacking cops. Repeat send back-up!"

Soon, a second voice came on the radio. "Hey cop! What makes you think you can hide from zee awesomeness that is zee Murray!" The sounds of the officer running away and the car beening fliped over.

Sly chuckled and said "Either everything is going according to plan or there is more then one Murray around here."

They soon got to the meeting place in the back alley behind Pierre's hideout. There was the mayor, waiting with some huge sacks of money. He noticed the pair walk up to him.

"Hey, you're that Sly Cooper fellow I heard about on the news." he noted. "You have got to get out of here before Pierre shows up. He's dangerious, he's threatened my family that's why I pay him. My kids wet the bed every night."

Bentley added "And guessing from how you cried under you're desk, you're probably doing the same."

"Don't worry." Sly told him, "we can handle dangerious. Go home and put that money back in the city vault."

"Oh thank you!" said the mayor, running off with the money. "Good luck!"

Later, after looting all the things from the hideout, Sly and Bently got onto the roof. The moon was full and bright. Just as they were about to contact Murray, they heard some slow clapping coming from behind them. They turned around and say Pierre Loup-Garou standing behind them.

"So," he said, "this is the famous Sly Cooper. Not as sneakly as they say I see."

"Show's over, Pierre. You're down in this town." Sly told him sternly.

"You have shown me your tricks, but it's now time to show you mine." He said, stepping out of the shadows into the moonlight. His medallion started to glow. He started to grow in size. His muzzle started to grow longer. His ears became pointier and his eyes started to glow red.

"Uh-oh." commented Sly. "Looks like he has a good trick. We should run."

"Good idea!" agreed Bentley. They soon jumped off the roof onto the ground below. Soon, Pierre's transformation was complete; he had become a full, six-foot tall, bulky, dark gray werewolf! He soon have chase to the theives down the street.

"Murray, come in! You were right!" Bentley radioed to his friend.

"I was? Awesome! Wait, about what?" he asked.

"About Pierre! He's a werewolf and he's coming after me and Sly! HELP!" shouted Bentley, frantically.

Murray gasped, "Don't worry guys! Murray the werewolf hunter is on his way!"

Sly and Bentley tried their best to lose their lupien tracker, but he had tons of energy. Soon, they were stuck in a alley with no way out.

"Looks like I've got you cornered." commented Pierre.

"Oh-no!" shouted Bentley, "It's just like the fortune cookie said! I am going to be killed by someone who uses bad puns!"

"OK, now am angry." the werewolf said, just before lunging at Sly and Bentley, but then suddenly falling down flat on his face. "OW! What's that thing in my back?"

"A silver fork." answered Murray, with a handfull of silverwear. He started to throw some more forks, knives, and spoons at him until he couldn't move. He took off the medallon and crushed it under his foot, so it could never transform anyone agian.

"Noooooooo!!....." Pierre said weakly as he turned back.

"Let's leave him for the cops, guys." said Sly, patting Murray on the back.

As they stepped out into the street, Sly heard a familer voice shout "Not so fast, Cooper!"

Sly leaned on his cane and began to flirt with her (yet again). "Hello, Carmelita. Enjoying Montreal? I know I have. It's a very....rich city."

"Enough with the small talk, Cooper. I have the upperhand this time."

"Traded in your shock pistol for the latest model?"

"No, I got back up. Webb! Hernandez! Wilson! Khumalo!" As she shouted the names, the officers popped into sight, all with high calibre weapons aimed at the gang. Bentley's and Murray's eyes shifted left and right in fear. "I'm going to take you three in, as well as that weakling in the ally over there."

"I heared that." Pierre called out, weakly.

"Smart idea, Carmelita." Sly told her.

Webb responded "Thanks, it was my idea."

"But," added Sly, "we have more. Bentley?" Bentley quickly pressed a button, setting off a smoke screen that soon made it hard for the cops to see.

"Quick, to the van!" shouted Bentley.

"Which way did they go?" asked Khumalo in an african accent, coughing from the smoke.

"That way!" shouted Webb. The cops chased after the gang for a few blocks. Webb turned to Inspector Fox and said "I'll tell the police to cut off all the roads out of town and for the airport to keep an eye at the airport for the gang and any of their known aliases."

"Good." said Inspector Fox, aiming at Sly. They got to the hideout. Lucky for the gang, this wasn't the first time they had to pack up quick, so they were able to put all their stuff and the loot into the van in five minutes flat. Murray stomped onto the gas and ran off.

"Murray," explained Bentley, looking at his GPS, "according to my scanners, the police have closed off all the roads and the airport! There's no way out!"

"I don't think so. HOLD ON!" said Murray, as he swerved off the road towards the river....and right onto a passing boat. The three of them got out of the van and watched as Carmelita and her officers stood and watched as only they could as the boat and gang were getting away.

"Au revoir, Inspector Fox!" shouted Sly. Inspector Fox answered with a blast from her shock pistol. "She has a funny way of showing her love." Sly told Bentley.

"You have a funny way of describing it." responded Bentley.

Meanwhile, back on land, Carmelita was boiling with rage.

"Oh, I know what's going to happen." said Hernandez, in a Chicago accent. "We are all going to get canned. Well, you know what, lady? Just fire me. I don't belong on this team. You got an explosive's expert, a martial artist and an expert profiler. Me? I can just run fast, so if anyone is getting fired, it's me."

Carmelita took a deep breath turned and told him "That was really honorable of you Hernandez. Hand in your badge and weapon." Hernandez did so, then turned around and walked past Webb, who, unoticed by the others, handed him something. As he walked down the street and got father out of sight, he started to count the unmarked american dollar bills that Webb had handed to him.......
