Oh, and dont worry about our intrepid young unicorn this isnt the end for her, it's just the begining

(Geeze, Cliche much?)

The young unicorn cautiously leaned her head through the old decrepit doors of the ominous structure, peering down the hallway only being able to see because of the faint light coming from holes in the ceiling. She took a deep breath and took a step through the doors; admittedly it was an improvement to the harsh winds of the mountain outside but somehow as she peered into the darkness of the corridor it offered no comfort. Her first few steps down the worn hallway were cautious and slow, gradually becoming less hesitant. The howling winds outside and the creaking floor boards were doing nothing for her nerves which were already shot. With the stressful climb up the mountainside, the terrifying sight of the castle and the intimidating doors that lead into the passage she was currently in, it was a wonder she hadn't passed out from fear by now. But she couldn't go back, she had to keep going, it was either that or be doomed to a life of misery.

The thought of her objective strengthened her resolve making her steps more confident and strong this however was not the best time to stop being cautious. She took a determined step planting her hoof down with conviction causing the floor to creek violently. She stopped dead in her tracks looking down at the decrepit floor with horror. Because the hallway that led up to the castle was on the ground she hadn't conceded that there was a lower floor. She slowly took a step forward the floor under her gave way; she quickly grabbed for the edge of the hole just barley catching herself, the only thing she could hear as she looked down was her heart thumping loudly. She hoped that there was another floor below her, unfortunately while there was another floor under her it was in even worse condition than the floor she had just fell through. As she tried to calm down she realized that she had two options either pull herself up or drop down and pray that the floor could hold her. She tried to pull herself up looking straight up at a hole in the ceiling trying to concentrate on going up pulling herself out of the hole.

Her hand holds broke.

As she began to fall downwards a single gasp escaped her muzzle everything seemed to slow down as she plummeted towards the floor below; her eyes were still fixed on the hole in the ceiling which seemed to be shrinking as she fell, she managed to think one thought before she hit the floor.

"Oh Well."

When she hit the floor it was as though she was shocked back into reality, time returning to normal speed, the floor gave way the pain had barley registered in her mind; when she hit the next floor the stinging pain from going through the first floor hit her like a sack of bricks, she barely had time to comprehend it as she hit the third floor at this point she wasn't even sure where she was, she just knew that she was falling and that she hurt. Finally she stopped falling hitting the final floor hard, she wasn't sure how far or through how many floors she had fallen through she was still looking at the hole in the ceiling now just a speck of light. Her eyes drifted to the right as she began to lose consciousness, she noticed a piece of fabric hanging from one of the holes she made, it was the cloak she had worn to protect her from the icy winds outside, it was flailing wildly, blown by a strong cross breeze on that floor. A piece of it tore off and slowly drifted down towards her obscuring the light, she was barely hanging on to her last shred of consciousness as the cloth fell gently over her face. As she fell into the depths of sleep she thought back to how she got into this situation.
