#2 of A Diffrent Kind of Pokemon Story

Here is chapter 2, It is short because I didn't want to write two themes in one chapter.

The next one will probably be as long as the first. So, here it is.

The next day the three trainers decided to go find the herbs necessary for Charmeleon's health. They had planed to enter Viridian forest and spit up looking for them, but Zack discovered that one of the herbs only grew on the plains. That meant that someone would have to travel further north into the habitat where the herbs were found. He quickly volunteered o do so, jumping on the chance to travel alone.

Toby and Nicole trudged though the forest for quite some time, before Charmeleon's suffering which was constantly interrupting their search caused Nicole to want to ride in the Pokeball with him. Toby walked alone, then not quite knowing where to look he found himself in a dark part of the woods very quickly. Looking down at the description of the herb he figured it grew with almost no sunlight anyway.

Zack was taking his break, about two-thirds of the way to his destination. Munching on a packed lunch he reflected on what was keeping him from sleeping at night. Dragonair. She was his Pokémon; the two had been together for as long as he had been a trainer. They had been though everything together, all the hardships of both their lives shared. Zack wasn't closer to anyone. Not even a human. Does that excuse his behavior? Zack was raised very strictly, and he was not loose about any kind of rules, he knew that. He also knew having 'sexual relations' with his own Pokémon would not be good for his trainer career. The only reason he started, he told himself was because he longed to be able to do something that was for him, and perhaps not perfectly along the rules. Even if it seemed selfish.

"No, don't analyze yourself like that, Zack." He whispered to him self, swallowing the last bit of his sandwich hard. "The real reason I succumbed to that was. . . love. Besides, everyone does it, I'm not alone." The real fact was, this didn't give him much comfort. He didn't even know if it was true.

"Come on Zack, I'm not a kid anymore. Neither are you." Dragonair's deep soothing, loving, tender and one million more adjectives, voice. It bounced around Zack's head.

What they did that night, Gary relives in his dreams, or nightmares. He wasn't sure what.

"I think I see it!" Toby called to Nicole, who came running over. "Careful, this ground seems to want to give away at any moment. It's an old cliff, or a new one whatever." Nicole slowed and watched her step.

"Where do you see it?" She asked, excited that something may actually go right today.

"Right over there, growing under that big tree."

"That's a mushroom!"

"That's the thing; I think we are looking for a mushroom." Toby, read the plant description, even though he had it memorized. It was too vague, but he was almost sure this was it. "Yeah, I'm sure, we need a few of those mushrooms."

"How can we get over there, without falling?" Nicole asked, taking a step forward, and seeing what Toby meant about a new or old cliff.

"Very carefully."

The two walked slowly towards the end where the mushrooms were growing. Toby could feel the ground shaping under his feet. "Nicole, I think maybe only one of us should go, the ground see--"

CRACK

Before he could finish the two trainers fell down a land slide of dead grass, moss and dirt into the dark undergrowth of the deep forest.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The noise had attracted notice. Two women and a man, stopped their 'work' temporarily to watch a land slide occur just off in the distance.
"Does it do that by it's self?" The man asked, putting a small bag full of pokeballs down.
"No, you moron." The Woman with the long hair replied.
"It looks, like we might have a problem." The other woman said, with a worried look on her face.
An Arcanine stepped out of the shadows and sniffed the air thoughtfully.
"Two actually."
