Look into my eyes...

Story by moonlight jackal on SoFurry

This is the first chapter of a really short story snippet I wrote to accompany the picture about a year ago.

I never cared much for clubbing - sure, I'd go downtown every once in a while, but most of those times it was just because my friends more or less dragged me along. 'cause I "ought to get off my stripey ass and meet new people sometimes" and maybe I'd even "score" if I'd only try.

Yeah, I also never really believed in hooking up with people at clubs - way too much noise and stuff going on - and I'm not exactly a dancer either.

These were some of the thoughts going through my head as I leaned against the bar, idly tapping my hoof on the ground in time with the beat of the throbbing music - some remix of a song I couldn't remember the title of right then - sipping my drink every once in a while as I let my eyes wander over the dancefloor. I saw two of my friends dancing with a pair of feline girls who looked like sisters, a group of teenagers who seemed just a little too young to be in a club like this and...

My hoof stopped its tapping for a moment as my eyes fixed on one fur that somehow stood out of the crowd. A canine, a male black fox, but with something else mixed in - it was kind of hard to tell with all the movement going on. I couldn't even put my finger on what exactly caught my eye about him, whether it was the way he moved, the way his mesh shirt clung to his athletic form or his strange, red eyes that almost seemed to glow in the half-light of the dancefloor. In retrospect, it was probably a mixture of all the above, but that's not important. What is important is that I somehow felt the sudden urge to finish my drink and join the writhing mass of furs on the dancefloor, moving and dancing aimlessly for some time with my body practically running on autopilot until I suddenly found myself dancing next to this mysterious canine.

I must have looked somewhat dumbfounded about how I got there because he paused his dancing for a moment to look at me with a smirk and a wink that set my cheeks ablaze, but before I could say anything he had resumed his dancing, moving around me like flowing water with a grace that made me feel like a peg-legged sloth in comparison.

I don't know just how long we danced, but judging by the thin film of sweat covering my short fur when he finally beckoned me off the dancefloor with a flick of his head and a gesture asking whether we should get something to drink it must have been quite a while.

The music wasn't quite as overpowering at the bar, which finally made it possible to talk. He introduced himself as Ira and we ordered our drinks and chatted casually for some time, althougn I can't really remember much of our conversation. Without the scent of dozens of other furs around me I couldn't help but lose myself in his presence - his voice, his body language, his scent...and those eyes. Up close like this they were even more captivating than before.

"Hey, do you wanna get out of here? You said you lived nearby, right? Maybe we could, you know, spend some time alone?" The question made my heart beat hard against my ribcage - I had never considered getting intimate with anybody this quickly - call me old fashioned, but I believe in taking things slowly anc carefully - but I felt my defences melting under Ira's gaze.

"I...umm...I came here with some friends, you know...", I stammered, part of me kicking myself mentally for making such a fool out of myself "perhaps I should at least find tham and...tell them where I'm...going and..."

I never finished that sentence for I fell silent the moment Ira's eyes bore directly into my own my voice caught in my throat.

"Oh please", he cooed as the strange sheen in his eyes practically erupted into a full fledged fire "Your friends can wait until tomorrow, can't they?"

"Y-yeah, probably..."

"Shhh", he said, grinning in a way that showed off his pearly white fangs, "Look into my eyes and tell me you want me. Tell me you'd even kill for me...anything I want."

The next thing I remember was me fumbling with the keys to my appartment while locked in the most intense kiss of my life with a person I had met only that night..."
