I finally got around to writing this request for , it's a love story set just after a big war...but even love is not always what it seems...
I really hope you guys like this, I really did work hard on it ^^
The Damsel and the Deserter
Pix sighed loudly as she re-checked her med pack once again to see if there was anything missing, nothing worse than finding out you didn't have bandages in the middle of nowhere. "There we have good supply of everything we need to help the men and women out there" she said glancing out of the door of the hanger towards to mine littered fields that stretched for miles.
The anthro shark made her way over to the hanger doors, glancing towards the sky as she leaned against it "I hope Rik's o.k. He hasn't come back yet", she said with a worried frown as she stroked her smooth, gray coloured scales. She moved back into the hanger and ran a hand over the small fighter jet that was still and silent, "you've served me well old girl we've had quite a few adventures together haven't we?" she said as she swayed her forked tail behind her.
"I'm glad the war is finally over though, it's been 4 years of hell" she said with a grimace as she remembered the nice surprises she'd experienced these past four years, she slowly made her way over to a small wooden desk in the corner of the hanger, she gently placed her med pack on the edge of it as she looked at the neat pile of paperwork on it. She picked up a nearby fountain pen and proceeded to sign the first piece of paper "there now I'm a free shark unless there's another war that is" she said with a chuckle as she slipped on her leather jacket, her newly acquired medal glinting in lights of the hanger as she made her way out.
She paused at the hanger door for a few minutes, she swore she'd heard something "is anyone there?" she said curiously as she looked around the seemingly empty hanger. Suddenly her vision turned dark as a pair of orange paws covered her eyes, "guess who?" the creature stated with a chuckle as he leaned his head over her shoulder. Pix gasped and twirled around, reaching out with her hand to find a smooth leather jacket "Rik...is it really you?" she said with a smile as the orange coloured fox lifted his paws from her eyes.
"You were expecting someone else?" the medium sized fox said with a grin as her pulled her into a long awaited hug, "Oh Rik I'm so glad your alright" the female said with a little stutter. The handsome fox gave her a cheek a little kiss and looped an arm around her shoulders "hehe me too my wonderful shark princess, come I just signed off for the day I'm taking you out" he said as he lead her out of the hanger and across the quiet airfield.
Pix giggled as they walked out of the rusted gates of the airfield they passed a fighter jet that had just landed as they strolled towards the nearby town, "so what's the plan my handsome fox?" Pix said with a giggle as they walked through the brightly lit town, every house was adorned with glittering Christmas lights and decorations. Rik chuckled as he pushed open a nearby door and motioned Pix inside "the plan is to have some fun and relax my lovely lady", he said with a grin as he followed her into restaurant.
A medium sized otter padded over to them as they entered "ahh mister Rik your table is ready for you sir, just follow me" the otter said with a smile as he padded towards a table with a single candle in the middle. The couple followed the otter and slipped in the comfy chairs either side of the table "thank you my friend" Rik chuckled to the otter as he wandered to another table, "no problem mister Rik, you and Pix enjoy your meal" the otter shouted back as he began to talk to the patrons on the other tables.
The orange fox leant back in his chair looking over to his shark companion admiring her looks in the candlelight "you look beautiful as always my sweet" he said lifting a paw to her cheek, Pix's cheeks turned a light pink as he placed his paw on her cheek "oh you, you say that every time you see me" she said with a giggle. "I say it because it's true my love" Rik replied with a smile as he took her hand in his paw, he let out a chuckle as a waiter placed a small pizza in between them and filled there glasses with a expensive looking wine.
Pix took a little sip of the wine and giggled a little "tastes like strawberries" she said placing her glass down and grabbing a slice of pizza holding it out for her companion, "lets dig in then, I'd hate to see such a lovely smelling pizza go to waste" she chuckled as she glanced at Rik's brown coloured ears as they twitched a little. Rik chuckled and took a bite of the offered slice of pizza; he picked up another gooey slice and offered it to Pix who promptly took a bite out of it.
The couple continued to eat in this manner until all that remained was few crumbs, Pix finished off her wine as Rik got up to talk to the otter waiter and whispered something into his ear. Pix was slipping on her coat as Rik rejoined her "well that was a lovely meal, what did say to the waiter?" she asked quizzically, Rik looped his arm over her shoulder as they padded out the door of the restaurant "just taking care of our bill my love" he replied with mischievous grin.
Pix chuckled and silently wondered what Rik was grinning about as they padded through the darkening streets towards a snow covered cottage, "here we are miss, I even brought you home safe" Rik said with a smile as Pix rummaged in her pocket for her key. "Yes you did, you are quite the gentleman mister fox" Pix chuckled as she pushed the door open with her foot, "would you like to come in for some hot coco my sweet?" Pix asked as she removed her boots leaving them by the door.
Rik grinned once more as he too took of his shoes and looped his arm around the slim shark, "I don't see why not, as long as you're having some coco too" he said as he held her against him, kicking the door closed behind him. With that the couple padded into the kitchen hand in paw, Pix quickly filled the kettle with water and clicked the little switch to turn it on "of course I am, coco is just the thing to warm you up on a cold night like this".
"Not not wrong there" Rik chuckled as he pulled her close again gently kissing her neck with a purr, Pix giggled a little as she felt his kisses, her tail winding around the fox's waist as he lavished her neck with kisses "oh Rik your so gentle with me" Pix said with a happy growl. Rik let out a loud murr "well someone as sweet as you deserves a gentle touch" he said with a smile as he watched her pour the boiled water out of the kettle, she gave the two cups of brown liquid a quick stir and added a little bit of cream into them.
"There we go, two sweet cups of coco" Pix said with a smile as she picked up one of the flowery cups and padded into the living room, Rik quickly followed her with his cup and packet of biscuits "can't have coco without biscuits" he chuckled as he sat on the soft two seater couch. Pix let out a giggle as she sat next to him and curled her tail around her legs "I guess not teehee" she said as she took a bite out of a biscuit, Rik chuckled and sipped his coco, it was indeed really sweet just like his lovely companion.
They sat quietly for a while just drinking and munching their biscuits, the quiet only interrupted with Pix's laughter when Rik got a bit of cream on his nose "ha-ha you got a little something on your nose hun". Rik wiped his nose with a paw and placed both their empty cups on the small table beside the couch, then he looped his arm around his beloved shark with a soft purr "that coco was lovely, it was almost as sweet as you" he said softly before leaning forward to kiss her soft lips.
They held the kiss for what seemed like forever, Rik gently pulled Pix onto his lap as they kissed making it easier for them. The slim shark's cheeks had turned a light scarlet as Rik slowly broke the kiss "well that felt wonderful don't you think?" Rik said with a grin as Pix lay her head on his chest "indeed it did my love, it's been so long since we kissed like that" she said with a happy sigh.
"Well I'm glad I clocked off early tonight because I get to spend it here with the best girl in the world" Rik said with a loud purr before kissing the shark on her forehead, Pix let out a loud murr well at least it sounded like a murr to Rik. He tilted his head a little to look at her face, he chuckled quietly as she noticed that his beloved had fallen asleep against him "sweet dreams my angel" he whispered as he snuggled her close watching her sleep until he slipped off into slumber.

The next morning Pix awoke to find Rik already awake and talking quietly on his phone to someone, Pix rubbed her eyes and stood up as Rik padded over to her and gave her a warm hug. "Good morning sleepy head, did my hun have sweet dreams?" Rik said with a smile but Pix could tell something as on his mind, "yes I did my handsome fox, what was the phone call about?" she asked quietly. "Oh well, I have to go my sweet, my sergeant called to ask me help with the recovery mission" Rik said with a frown, Pix smiled a little and kissed his cheek "it's okay you go, go and help recover our fellow troops".
"Are you sure your o.k. with it?" Rik asked for the fifth time as he stood in the open door, "I'm sure my love" Pix said with a chuckle as she gave him a playful shove out of the door "now go save some lives, I'll be waiting for you here handsome". With that Rik chuckled as he stumbled down the hill towards the airfield "I'll be back before you know it!" Rik shouted as he disappeared behind the postal building, Pix chuckled and slinked back inside to get warm.

One week later...
Pix happily decorated her table ready for dinner when she heard a loud knock at the door; she made her way around the table and opened the door to find a dark orange fox standing on her doorstep. "Oh hello Nathan what brings you to my humble home?" Pix asked as she leant against the door frame, the older fox looked at her with a frown and shuffled his feet in the snow "well...I have some news..." Pix's ears instantly perked up as she looked to him curiously "well... it's Rik, he was on patrol when he just flew off away from the group..... he's been gone for two weeks... I'm sorry Pix". Pix just stood there frozen as Nathan hugged her and turned to walk back down the snow covered hill, Pix just stepped back a little closing the door in front of her, she leaned on it as a stream of tears flowed over her scaly cheeks "Rik....."
