"I guess I was kind of surprised when it happened." I said lamely, looking at my new found friends. The taller one hadn't given his name, and neither had his friend, but they were charming to me. Both of them were, gratefully, like me, which was more than can be said for other creatures I had come across. These two were just your standard avians, about six and a half feet tall, although the second was shorter. The shorter one was very personable and friendly, the taller one more inward and direct. A scar showed over his left eye, and he gazed at me in mild interest.

"So, tell me what happened?" the taller creature spoke, in a deep masculine voice."What was your name, I didn't catch it?" "Oh right, I'm Merra." That is my name, Merra Ieriala. I am your average five foot eleven silver avian. My wingspan is about eight feet, and like all avians I know my arms and legs are three toed. I sat down, my kite tail hanging over the back of the rock as I took a deep breath. We were sitting next to a deep stream in the middle of our town. Trees as far as the eye could see, no place like home.

It was fairly early in the morning, and no one else was awake. These two had met me on the street, and asked if I was the one who had spread rumours of strange life forms. I was not afraid of them, I was used to being disbelieved. But these two, they didn't scorn what I had to say, they believed me, which was a pleasant surprise. So, refreshed by a couple of beakfuls of water from the river, I began to tell these two what had happened.

"It was last week,it's been nine days since these events. I was walking along down by the perimeter of the forest, I always like to look at new areas. Don't you like to get about every now and then?" The taller one smiled." I agree, it is a nice change." "So,"I continued, emboldened by his words," I was perched up on a high branch when I hear this noise down below, like a huge cracking noise, or like sap exploding on a frosty day. I looked down immediately, and, I tell you, looked upon a creature that was so strange to behold. Beautiful, and yet alien."

"What was he like?" the shorter one asked. His voice was not so deep, and he conveyed an innocent and delightful tone. "Well, he was, different. He had no wings, which was the first thing I noticed. Then, as I gazed, he had no feathers, no beaks, no claws, and his skin was this weird pinkish colour. He had his back to me, and he was carrying this bag across his shoulders. In his arms he held a long stick like thing, which he thrust into the soft earth. Then he spoke in this tongue, I could not understand."

"Could you remember what he said?" the taller one asked. I pride myself on my memory, and began to recite the strange syllables. He said ( Right, guys, I've arrived. Temperature roughly normal, gravity half earth standard, come when you're ready). He stood there for a second, as if talking to an imaginary friend, and then spoke again (Right, while Brendan and Alex get their belts, I'll have a look around). It was so strange, it was as though he was talking to someone."

"How odd." the taller one replied disdainfully,"So what happened next?" "Well, he drew something from his pocket, and looked at it. After two seconds he turned, and looked straight up at me. I froze in fear, his face was flat, his mouth was different, and I could see this weird fur growing on his head. His hands had five fingers, one which went the wrong way at either end. He was wearing very silky looking clothing, and he immediately lifted a hand to his glasses, speaking in the same language."

"(Hey guys, I've found one of the residents. Six foot tall avian creature, check it out! He looks pretty cute up there. I wonder if he's friendly?)" he waved to me, inviting me down next to him. He didn't look too scary, so I went into a glide and landed next to him." The taller one leaned back, looking in interest."You tried to communicate with an alien race? Despite the fact you knew nothing about them?"

"I know, it wasn't wise. But he looked so polite and cheerful, and not exactly a threat to me. He had this strange stick like thing on his belt of his trousers, but at that point I didn't know what it was." "I am intrigued." the shorter one sounded confused,"So you say this creature acted cheerful?" "Yeah, his manner and body language suggested a friendly and warm disposition. Sort of like you, but you're obviously not alien. Who did you say you were with?" "Just a division of the C.G."

The C.G., wow. Cialis Goviano, the leaders of our people. These guys worked up there? Amazing, people from the lower C.G divisions hardly ever visited the ordinary people, let alone the higher echelon. "I'm not in trouble, for this, am I?" "Of course not, Merra. We just want to know about these creatures you spoke about." I was made aware of three or four other avians walking over, wondering what we were talking about. After I had explained to them that these avians were part of the C.G, they sat down, and listened.

"So this creature talked to you?" "Well, at first he didn't say a word I understood. He gave a short bow to me, and spoke again (Greetings, my friend, I am honoured to meet you.) I had no idea what he was saying, but I returned the bow to remain polite, and spoke. "Welcome, may I ask who you are?" I said, and then suddenly he smiled and spoke in our tongue. "My name is Ryan Lewis, I am a friend." he replied."

"Ryan Lewis, that is a peculiar name." I said slowly, looking at his chest and rubbing my beak," But then, you aren't one of us, so I suppose it might be normal where you come from. What is your purpose here?" "I am part...." he began, and then things got scary." "Really? How so?" the taller C.G member asked.

"Well, just as he said it, there were four really loud bangs around me, and as I turned, I saw several more creatures, and they were a lot different from the first. Well, one wasn't, he looked like the first one I had met, although he had this clashing reddish hair and wore a delicate pendant on his neck. He also wore this long thing of material on his back, which he called a cloak. The second was a more slim and delicate version of either of them. Slightly taller and yet thinner, this creature had long hair, wore a pure white garment, and had these pointed ears. She was beautiful, and yet when she opened her eyes she seemed terrifying."

"Go on." the shorter one replied comforting. "The third was different from the others. He was still about our height, but he was covered in dark fur with purple highlights in his fur. His fur was all over, as opposed to the first three, which wore them only on their heads. He had claws like us, but his mouth was more like that of a wolf or something. He carried a backpack too, and carried a stick in his hand, which he leant on as he arrived. The fifth member of the group..." I shivered, and involuntarily stopped.

My small audience waited politely, and I took a deep breath and started again. "The fifth was tall. Eight foot almost, covered in shining scales, like a fish, but rock hard. His muscles were huge and powerful, and while his belly wasn't covered with scales, I could see this creature was so strong. He had razor claws on each of his four fingers and toes on each hand and foot. Then I noticed that, like us, he had wings, but not like us. His wings were devoid of anything, leathery and crackly, I could see individual veins running across them. His head was quite pointed, and eyes were are brilliant gold. His ears were tall and pointed, and his jaws were much like the furred one, but more pointed than square."

"He seemed to have landed in a strange manner, and he arrived going down onto one knee. But then he stood up, surveying me minutely with his golden eyes. He sniffed the air, and turned his head to one side, taking in my appearance. I was frightened by this monstrous creature, and I turned, trying to run. Then the first shouted in that strange language." "(Brendan, stop him getting away!He doesn't mind us.)" I got about two yards when I was grabbed. Both arms went around my waist, and I was lifted up in this creature's grasp. I screeched in terror, expecting pain or something."

"But then something strange happened. The first took a couple of steps, watching me struggle helplessly. He spoke kindly to me. "There, there, my friend. Brendan won't harm you. We would like to have a friendly conversation with you. Is that O.K.? We didn't want you running off, in case you hurt yourself." he said, and took my hand gently. I stopped struggling, still afraid of this creature holding me like a vice, and to my astonishment, he let me go. I landed on the ground, and took a step or two away from this huge thing."

"What is it?" I asked of this Ryan Lewis. "We call it a sugar hungry, immensely powerful sex machine," Ryan began with a giggle," but it's really called a dragon. His name is Brendan Dowski, and he's quite amiable. Brendan, can you get some wood for a fire?" he directed this last bit at the creature. The creature gave a short bow, and turned, looking for wood. The slim creature with the pointed ears spoke loudly to the dragon too." "Brendan, if you touch any living branch, I will use you as kindling!"

"The dragon chuckled at this, and Ryan Lewis began pointing at his friends one by one." "This is Felicia, she is called an elf." he pointed at this slim creature who had just spoken," This is Alex Dowski, like me he is human,"he pointed at the red headed creature,"And this is Doran, he is called a wolf."he pointed at the furry creature, who waved at me. He was still holding my hand and he spoke to me."What is your name?" "Err, my name is Merra." I said, watching as the dragon and the wolf look around for dead bits of branches. Alex was pulling out a flat topped device, and flipped it open, tapping on it, and Felicia walked over to the nearest tree. She gently began rubbing it, and closed her eyes."

"These creatures are strange, their mannerisms and behaviour confusing." the shorter C.G member looked perplexed," Stroking the tree? Did she expect it to say something? And what was this flat device you speak of, how big was it?" "I don't know what she was doing, but I could swear light was passing through her hands and into the trunk. But as for the device, it was about three hand-spans wide by two long. The strangest thing was it opened by a hinge, and there was lots of strange colours on the screen. I couldn't understand it, but I guess must have been a way of storing information."

"So what happened after they began this unusual behaviour?" the taller one asked. "Well, the dragon and the wolf began to pile the wood in a bundle, and everyone sat around it, as if waiting for it to do something. Then the dragon took a deep breath, and a huge burst of fire leapt from his mouth, igniting the wood and bursting into flames. I leapt up in terror, this creature could control fire, and as I did both Doran and this Ryan person grabbed me by the legs. I stumbled and fell over, trying to get away, but they pulled me back to where I had just been sitting. I grabbed Ryan's shoulder, staring at the dragon."

"But how could a creature make fire magically appear?" one of the audience asked. The two C.G members turned to look at the questioner, and I shrugged gently. "I don't know. Maybe their race has some kind of ability to breathe it out, like we would blow leaves in the wind. Maybe they have these odd liquids that burn inside them? I just saw it, and felt terrified." "I couldn't blame you." the shorter C.G member replied,"Fire gives me the creeps. So what happened after you grabbed this Ryan creature?"

"Well, he smiled at me again. It was almost as if he knew it was going to happen, and that he predicted my reaction before it came. I spoke to him, whispering in his ear, asking him not to hurt me, or get Brendan to do so. He gave a chuckle and placed his arm around my back, holding me close to him. "Don't worry, Merra, Brendan only uses his pyro blast on wood or anyone trying to attack him." I looked up and down at the dragon." "What kind of stupid creature would try and do that?" I asked, looking horrified at the idea."

"The dragon laughed, and I shivered, his powerful voice sent goosebumps on my skin."You'd be surprised, little one." he smiled, and his razor teeth glinted in the light of the fire. Felicia stopped stroking her tree, and sat down next to me. She sat down with her legs crossed and her hands together. Her eyes closed, and she began speaking in a dull monotone, again in an unspeakable language. The very air trembled as the words drifted over me, and I was struck by how delicate and beautiful she was."

The shorter C.G member laughed, delightfully," Let me get this straight, while you were surrounded by several terrifying creatures, you stopped to check one of them out? Give the avian a bad sense of importance award." he smiled widely at me, and I grinned. "I know, it wasn't the best time, it's just her shape was so, graceful and purposeful. Her breasts were round and while not that large, well curved, and her legs were supple." I fought hard to stop going on about Felicia, and continue the story," But, uh hum, as they were sitting down, relaxing, they began speaking to me."

"What did they speak to you about?" "It was strange. They told me they were explorers, and that they travelled from a place called Central. Their job, apparently, is to meet life-forms on the planets they visit, and make contact with them, finding out whether they would be friendly to them. And that their master, they called him Silverine, had told them to come to this place." "Did they talk about this, Silverine character much?" the shorter fellow asked. The tall one seemed not to be paying much attention any more.

"No, not really, just said he was tall, powerful and handsome, like Brendan, but a lot different on the outside. I didn't get to see him." "Wow, you must have gotten a break," the shorter C.G member replied,"I don't think I could stand two creatures that big." "I didn't think I could either. But they asked me whether I could tell them some things about this planet."

"So, what did you do?" "Well, they were being awfully nice to me, at this point they had offered me something to eat, and so while we all ate together, they began asking fairly routine questions. They seemed fairly basic, things we all know. Where the town was, how many of us there were, whether they could see the town and not have everyone attack them, how advanced we were." I stopped, remembering a certain question the dragon had put forward, and blushed. The taller C.G member caught the look, and surveyed my red face deeply.

"Merra, did they ask you anything you found embarrassing?" I looked down at my trousers. This was not going to be easy, not in front of a small group of ten. Thank god there wasn't a proper crowd of people, I probably would have lost my nerve. But you couldn't lie to a C.G. "The dragon asked a question about our bodies, asking us about our gender. According to them, they had encountered life that was neither male nor female, or sometimes both, and it was a routine question to ask, provided I felt like answering it. So I did, telling them we had a male and a female gender."

"Really?" the taller one smiled," these creatures are inquisitive, I'll grant them that. So what did they do in response to that?" "I asked them whether they were the same as us, and that's when things started getting, intimate. The dragon took off his trousers, exposing his maleness to the world. His penis was easily a foot and a half in length, and his leg muscles glinted, the light shining off his scales. Felicia likewise took off her clothes, exposing herself, and proved that they were just like us, with a vagina, and ass. It was weird how, naturally the idea of being naked came to them. The others didn't strip, but they did confirm it."

"Curious in every manner, and likely to show in turn." the shorter one observed. "They don't exactly draw lines on private discussion, though." one of the audience added. "Well, they must get a hell of a lot of queries on themselves, I suppose showing themselves to be what they are is easier and less time consuming." another admitted. "I got that feeling too." I nodded. "So five of them, one of you, what happened next?"

"As I said, this kind of got personal, and pretty intense. I don't know where to begin, exactly, but after they finished asking questions, they finished their food, and began speaking in their funny language again, so fast and fluently that I could barely understand the syllables. There seemed to be a animated conversation, like a joke or anecdote, and noticed that while the wolf and the elf sat back during this, everyone seemed to be grinning. It was so, strange, I wanted to run, and yet wanted to observe these creatures. They stayed for about six to eight hours after that, and then after saying farewell, they vanished with a bang."

I had made up my mind not to mention what had happened in those six to eight hours, no one needed to know what happened. Even so, it should be recorded in secret, hence why this is being written down. The wind picked up as they were talking there, it is a sudden occurrence around here, and will blow anything that isn't nailed down. Everyone looked up, and the one called Felicia spoke. "Guys, I'm getting a storm reading, we need to find some cover."

Ryan turned to look at me, and I understood instantly what he was about to ask. "We have built underground hides to shelter from this wind, it is powerful and dangerous. Follow me, I will lead you to the nearest one." "Will there be any other avians there?" Alex asked, grabbing his equipment and putting it in his bag. "I don't think so. There are many hides, and few venture out here without a reason." "Good, we don't want to panic your friends." Alex replied.

We ran through the increasingly murky forest. All of them were following me at a quick rate, as I searched for the signs that told me where the underground hide was. The underground hides all had doors that opened upwards, and were bolted and chained from the inside. They all descended about ten metres down by a short and slightly steep stair case, and into rooms about twenty metres in length by eight wide. They were also three metres high, because avians being avians, they like to fly, so even Brendan wouldn't bounce his head off the roof.

I found the sign on a tree, and spent ten seconds locating the handle to the door. Brendan grabbed it, and with an easy heave lifted it up on it's hinge. Everyone descended, all the explorers went first, and I went in front of Brendan. The dragon looked around warily, making sure there was no one else coming this way, and then pulled the door behind him. It was slightly dark at the moment, but Brendan snapped on a strange device , from which unnatural light shined, looking at the door. I pulled the bolt and chain across, and he took a deep breath, letting it out with a sigh.

"Thank you, Merra." I was slightly blinded as the light beam was swung in my direction, and I stayed very still. We have excellent night vision, but as the light played across my face I was unable to see. "Please, Brendan, shine that thing away from me." the dragon did so, and I stood very still, waiting to regain my sight. Brendan made a shuffling noise. "Sorry, Merra, I didn't know you had low tolerance. Let me carry you down."

I was not keen to let the dragon manhandle me again, but I nodded, and felt the dragon's strong arms curl around my shoulders and underneath my knees, and I held my hands together and wings folded as I felt Brendan carry me down the steep steps. After about thirty seconds, Brendan stopped going down, and Alex spoke just as I was regaining my vision. "What did you do, Brendan?"

"They don't like sudden changes of light.I accidentally shone a torch into his face as we were locking the door." The dragon gently put me down, while I looked around. It was pretty bright in here, the four of them had set up little circular things at strategic points in the room near the door. Down one end was a small door leading to two avian privies, just in case the wind went for some time, and someone had left a couple of straw mattresses here for the weary traveller.

They didn't know about the toilets, so I told them, which they were relieved about. Doran shuffled off in that direction, while the other four hung around the three light emitting things. "What are they?" I asked, pointing at them. "These are called hurricane lamps." Alex replied."Centralite devices that can be folded away when not needed and produce a powerful light for about a day if necessary. They need to be charged for about five hours to get the full battery life though."

I didn't have the heart to tell him I got lost half way through his explanation, but these hurricane lamps did the job. I could see the walls, caked in graffiti from previous bored travellers, and rolled my eyes at some frustrated sentences. This place was not visited by many, otherwise the cleaners would have come by to clean that sort of thing off. Normally there was an avian who would stay in the underground hide, who would keep the place lit and prepared, but out here it was desolate, the only thing that could have lit the place was a couple of torches, and a small keg of oil near the door.

This was a do-it-yourself shelter. My new friends were unaware of this, and I decided not to tell them. Ryan Lewis pulled out a small cardboard box, and from it pulled out several small rectangular cards. "Pontoon anyone?" he asked cheerfully, and Felicia and Alex said they would play with him. I watched as Ryan shuffled the cards, and then dealt two to all three of them. Brendan sat in a corner, in a relaxed pose, he seemed to be reading something in the half light.

Doran came back, and began to explain the rules of this pontoon game they were playing. Basically the numbers of the dots on your cards needed to be twenty one, or as close as you could get to it without going over.Going over meant you went bust, and lost. Then once everyone had gotten close as they had dared, they would show their cards to everyone else, and the closest to twenty one was the winner.

There were four exceptions to the rule of dots. Three of them were cards with pictures on them, which were worth ten each, and there was the one fancy dot card, which was either one or eleven. The dots were in four shapes, a kind of squarish one called diamonds, something that looked like a tree, which was called clubs, a beak shaped one, spades, and outspread wings, hearts. Doran played with me for the first couple of rounds, showing me what was sensible and what was not advised. Because of the numbers available, no one ever took another card if they had eighteen or nineteen dots.

The dragon, I noticed, was not paying the slightest attention to the game, indeed he was still reading his book, one hand resting on his naked lap, the other holding the book. I caught a fair look of his penis as he shifted his legs briefly, and wondered how they could be so unshy? I wouldn't strip my clothes off in front of anyone. Felicia had regained her dress after her, um, explanation, and was currently lying on her side, holding the cards in one hand.

Doran stopped helping me, and the five of us began playing in proper earnest. Felicia smiled from her position. "Right, Merra, here's a rule we all play by. If you go over twenty one, you have to take off one part of your clothing. It means you were risky enough to succeed, and failed. You don't win, but shows how bold you are.To equal this, if you have twenty one exactly, you regain one part of clothing." Suddenly I didn't like the sound of this. The others agreed to the rule, and I was in grudgingly, but I was a lot more cautious. The hands passed, and I learnt the numbers told a certain pattern. You could safely draw to an eleven, and you were reasonably safe on a twelve or thirteen, but only if you were desperate would you draw to a higher number than fourteen.Ryan Lewis, the lucky devil, had a one and a seven, and drew, getting a three, which meant he could make the one an eleven, and incidentally get twenty one.

Sometimes things didn't go one's way. Felicia had a twelve and got a ten dot card, Alex had fourteen and drew a nine, I had thirteen and drew a picture card, and before long we were in varying states of semi-nakedness. I had four pieces of clothing on plus footwear, and after half an hour was down to my under shirt and underwear. Eventually everyone stopped taking the risks, no one seemed keen to go over again, and this was when they played the second rule.

The winner of each hand had to order one person to take off a piece of clothing. Now my handle on this game was fairly tenuous, and already I was in a position where I was about to expose myself to five complete strangers. Doran caught my somewhat scared glance as the next hand started. "Don't worry, we know you've just started learning this." Nineteen. Oh god, neither one thing nor the other. I stayed, watching the others draw cards until they were satisfied. Then we all showed.

Within five minutes, I was chosen by the elf to lose a piece of clothing. She was likewise down to a single garment, and I reluctantly took off my shirt, exposing my frame to the four of them. Doran whistled, NOW I know why they call it wolf whistling, and I blushed heavily. The wolf smiled at me. "I like the frame, you are very handsome." I tried to look down at my eighteen, not to meet anyone's eye, but the cards were pulled away by Alex, and Doran put a brotherly hand around my shoulders.

"Don't be embarrassed, being naked is the ultimate state of purity. If you can stand naked in front of others, you are at least strong in yourself." "It is not a thing one does in our race. To walk down the street without a shirt is not strange, but to be completely naked is, and to expose myself in front of five aliens is as well." "I'm surprised they even have a category for that, have your race made contact before?" Alex smiled at me. I shook my head, but they already knew this, they just understood I was shy of them. At least they were friendly and joking about the whole thing.

Two hands later was the tolling bell of embarrassment. I had a thirteen, and took another card. I wanted an eight, I got a nine, and my moan must have escaped my lips, because Doran chuckled next to me. "I think someone went over." I wasn't the first naked, no, that went to Felicia and Doran, but I took Doran by the arm, and led him to the stairs, and out of sight of the game.

"Doran, help me do it, I couldn't by myself." The wolf nodded his head, his eyes showing nothing but understanding. It was a curious thrill playing this game. I wanted to win, and remain clothed, but there was a strange urge that losing was fun as well, I just needed some help seeing that. The wolf gently pressed his muzzle against my beak, and kissed me firmly. I was staggered, feeling both of his hands brushing my wings, holding me.

It was such a nice feeling, I just couldn't help myself, so I kissed back. I wrapped both hands around his back in return hugging him, and kissing. The wolf's passion was overwhelming, and I felt his tongue against my own, and our tongues began a slow but sensual exploration of one another. One of the wolf's hind paws brushed against my hips, the tips of the claws gently catching on the loose material of my underwear, and as we kissed he pulled downwards with his paw, dragging my underwear with it, until it was about my ankles. I stepped up, and Doran pushed it away.

He broke off, and smiled warmly at me."There you go. Was that difficult?" I looked down with an embarrassed smile."No, but it's kind of strange, doing it." "That's how I used to feel, too." I took a couple of deep breaths, and came down the stairs and sat back in my usual position around the lamp. I noticed they were carefully not paying attention to me until I became accustomed to the feeling, with the exception of the dragon, who briefly lowered his book, smirked at the scene, and started reading again with a grin.
