**This information contains MAJOR SPOILERS!! Please, do not read past this point if you have not read beyond Chapter 52. The entry of Yoishi Takahashi contains data from the story The Love of Yoishi Takahashi, and the entry of Lowell O'Conall contains data from Chapter 86. Under NO circumstances should it be read before CHAPTER 24!**

This short section contains information on the past lives of one of the characters in the story Spirit Bound, if you do not know to whom I refer, stop reading this and start reading the actual story. I will not draw an actual timeline, but I will list them in order from oldest to newest, and include all information I know to have written about them up to and including Chapter 52: Visions, as well as incidental and non-spoiler material. Information about Lowell's children (beyond names) will not be included, as that is contained in the Appendix. All names follow the Western naming standard with given name first followed by family name or surname, any nickname or alias is given first if that is how the character was better known.

Unknown: This is the life Liam is quite certain exists, and is somewhat sure is his first life. This mysterious person seems to have some form of link to the Mi'kmaq choker Liam constantly wears, a white Wolf, and a raven. The time period this life occupied is unknown. The skills of this life are unknown. The people this life knew and the accomplishments of this life are unknown.

Timeus : 2nd Century BCE, Athens. Pleasure Slave/Priest of Hades. Molossian Hound. Timeus spent his younger years as a pleasure slave learning the arts of massage and sexually pleasing his master. At some point he gained his freedom, through unknown means, and began travelling the Mediterranean world in the service of 'Lord' Hades. In his 85 years as Timeus, he learned many skills and arts, including: massage, horseback riding, mathematics, architecture, astronomy/astrology, necromancy (through the blessing of Hades and only as he willed), and the use of Hades 'Soul Fire'. He learned to speak Ancient Greek, Latin, Ancient Egyptian, Persian, and Phoenician.

'Conor' Quinn: 268-322 CE, Northern Ireland. Druid. Border Collie. Quinn spent his early life a village in what is now Northern Ireland. He left in his early years as an apprentice to a Druid who taught him many druidic arts, but Quinn excelled in all skills involving canines -- earning him the name 'Conor' which means 'Lover of Hounds'. Nothing is known about his actions during his 54 years as 'Conor' Quinn, but he continued to learn many new things: how to speak to all feral canines, how to enhance his senses to match (or even exceed) that of his feral kin, spear fighting, and how to play the pipes (flutes, syrinx/panpipes), amongst many other valuable skills. He also learned how to speak Celtic, Gaelic, Nordic, and Fey.

Lung Tai: 454-527 CE (roughly), Northern Wei Dynasty of China. Kung Fu Master. Chongqing Dog. Liam has mentioned very little of this life, other than alluding to his friendship with Hua Mulan. We know he was trained by a Snow Leopard who spoke of his time in the temple where kung fu was founded, and of the Sacred Peach Tree of Heavenly Wisdom which grew there but not where Lung (surname name is Tai) was trained. We also know that Lung knew the kirin Zhaohui and that Zhaohui taught him how to walk on water and fog. He lived for 73 years in what is now China, acquiring much knowledge, including: how to play the pipa, kung fu, and further improved the art of massage. He could speak Ancient (pre 3rd century BCE) Chinese, Classical Chinese (his era), Han, and Tibetan.

???? of Jerusalem: 688-??? CE, Illya (Jerusalem) of the Islamic Caliphate. Jackal. Liam refuses to speak of this life at all, leaving it a complete mystery, including how much Liam knows of this life. All we know of it is that he acknowledges one of his lives lived in Jerusalem, but after the purported events surrounding the individual known as 'Jesus the Christ'. Nathanial saw a vision at one point in which this individual stood tall, appearing as a Jackal with a thin mane running along the back of his neck and spots that nearly matched the colour of the surrounding fur. This statue was shown standing by a burning and blood stained city and held the severed tails of many Furs in his paw, along with a bloody bag in his other one. We do not know how much of this vision was true or was engineered by the Demonic spell that gave it to Nathanial, and Liam will not say. We know not how long his reign of terror lasted or what knowledge Liam has gained from it.

Li Song: 869-935 CE (roughly), Shanghai, China. Healer Monk. Foo Dog. Li spent the first decade of his life in the tiny village of Shanghai, before it was even recognized in the Tang dynasty as a village. He had a facility with languages that was recognized by a merchant travelling through who purchased him from his parents and took the young Li on many trips. We do not know how Li went from a merchant life to travelling south to the tea fields of Fujian, but there he encountered a monk who took him to the monastery which became Li's home for the rest of his life. Li excelled in the rigors of monastic life quickly mastering all combat arts he was exposed to as well as the more ascetic and spiritual aspects of the discipline. He focused the majority of his adult life on the arts of healing and codified much of the disparate knowledge on all aspects of health and healing. His 76 year long life was centred on studying and it brought a great bounty to all later lives, including: refinement of his martial arts, extensive knowledge of healing and anatomy, alchemy as relating to the chi and healing, acupuncture, calligraphy, and playing the bamboo flutes (dizi and xiao types). He learned many languages, too: Middle Chinese (the dominant dialect of the time), Min Nan/Taiwanese (from the Fujian province), Korean, Mandarin, Yue/Cantonese, and Wu.

Yoishi Takahashi: 1479-1544 CE, Kofu, Japan. Shinobi. Kai Inu. Yoishi was born into a peasant shinobi family in the service of Nobutsuna Takeda. His parents died on a mission for their lord, who -- in gratitude -- bestowed the surviving members the family name 'Takahashi' (the kanji gave it the meaning 'Next World's Bridge or Death's Bridge) and officially the status of low ranking samurai. Yoishi was unhappy in the service to Nobutsuna, who only valued his skills as a killer and spy and not his artistic abilities or his healing ones, but he served Nobutsuna and then Nobutora (aka Nobunao) loyally. Yoishi traveled extensively his whole life (lasting 65 years), under the guise of an artist and musician, learning all he could from anyone he met. He learned: the art of nindo, acting, painting, acrobatics, poetry, and how to play the shakuhachi (Japanese bamboo flute) and the biwa (stringed instrument similar to the pipa). He also advanced his knowledge in many areas he had previously studied in earlier lives. He only knew how to speak Japanese, beyond those languages he gained from his earlier lives.

Xun Song: 1657-1723 CE, Chengdu, China. Smith. Chow Chow. Xun was born to the weapon smith of the new governor of Chengdu, after it had begun to rebuild after the massacre of Zhang Xianzhong. Xun was the fourth son so -- despite showing great skill in the art of forging -- he felt free to leave to try to understand the voices he began hearing in his mind. Voices that would occasionally speak through him, too. His wanderings eventually led him to a monastery in the province of Fujian, where Li fully roused and was recognized by its inhabitants as the soul of their revered former master. With the help of the monks Xun came to terms with who he was and resumed forging while still engaging in other pursuits. He forged many swords that were acclaimed as masterworks, and even though many were lost to time they earned him a place amongst the greatest sword smiths in China's history. His skills as an artificer have also earned him renown in the Arcane Society; his works are assiduously sought after by all collectors of ancient artifacts. He lived for 64 years and learned: forging, the history of China and it's surrounding countries, the science of agriculture, how to enchant objects and make artifacts, mastery of the sword (the jian primarily), and an unusual martial art called shisan shi (which later became t'ai chi ch'uan). He knew how to speak only those languages learned in previous lives, though he was forced to relearn those available to him in their modern versions (it was too difficult to find teachers for the languages of the West).

Lowell O'Conall: 1832-1910 CE, London, England. Businessman and Assassin. Wolf. Lowell was born to a woman he never met and left on the steps of an orphanage. He lived there for seven years until one December it was shut down by a bank for missing a payment. He, and all the other pups, was out on the street by morning. He spent the next two years as a prostitute until he was old enough to find work in a factory. He managed to survive into his adulthood, unlike most of his former co-orphans, and eventually made his way to the Cork Clan. He managed to convince Ruarc McDougall to let him join the clan to act as its assassin and to manage some business. He was even given the paw of Lorena O'Conall, a young(ish) Spirit in the second most powerful family in the clan. As he had no family name, he took hers. His touch was golden; he quickly sired four pups, his (and the clan's) foes quickly began dying, and the businesses under his care grew into a vastly wealthy empire granting him access to the highest circles of the British aristocracy. On his death, the clan had grown into the envy of all clans the world over and continues to enjoy the same prestige to this day. Lowell lived to the old age of 78 acquiring broad knowledge in all of the sciences and extensive knowledge in many subjects such as: accounting, biology, Western medicine, arcane lore, astronomy, fencing, and how to play the violin. He relearned the modern version of all languages he had known before, as well as learned many new ones: English, Irish, French, German, Spanish, Portuguese, and Italian.

Liam Smith: 1997- present, Halifax, Canada. Student, Monk, Acupuncturist, and Healer. Rottweiler. He Woke very early in this life, far earlier than he considers safe, and it has caused some problems. Fortunately his parents are very understanding, despite their confusion, and they've had the help of a Monk in coming to terms with who and what their son is. All other pertinent data is in the appendix or contained in the story.
