Nearly Numb

#1 of Trace University

THE GRAY clouds rolled ominously across the once cerulean sky, threatening a downpour at any given moment. The long, deep rumbles went unheard by the bustling campus below, where an uncountable amount of cars, vans, moving trucks and trailers all were constantly shifting, allowing objects of all sorts to be moved out and into one of the two large buildings just behind the large circular driveway. Shouts or excited greeting filled the air, along with the unmistakable looming silence of nervous freshmen gawking over the enormous campus before them.

It was just before the beginning of the school year at Trace University, one of the most prestigious schools in the nation, and the infamous "moving in" week to the school's dorms had begun. And within the commotion of the grounds stood the shaking snowy-white rabbit Derek Mills, the monstrosity of a school towering before him.

His eyes moved slowly left onto a large group of yelling furs, each sporting a jersey of black and deep violet as they jumped up and down, obviously some of the undoubtedly many athletically-centered furs around the campus- or jocks. Scanning to the right his eyes fell to a group of giggling females, each gazing over to where his eyes had been fixed just moments ago, pointing and smiling mischievously. He gulped nervously as he tilted his head ever so slightly, the large dorms filled his gray eyes once again and a feeling of sickness grasped his innards.

Derek jumped when a firm paw came down enthusiastically on his shoulder.

"Are you a freshman too?" Came a voice from behind.

A collie with fluffy ruby and crème-colored fur came around his right shoulder with a smile and saying with a half-laugh,

"Oh, sorry about that. Didn't mean to frighten you!"

"O-oh no, um, I mean yes, I'm a freshmen as well." Said Derek quietly.

"Great!" Said the collie brightly,

"We can get lost together then. Which floor are you on?"

Just then realizing he had actually been engaged in conversation with, Derek fumbled through his pockets and pulled out a small piece of crinkled paper, looking as if it had been read many times. The collie quickly snatched and unfolded it, reading as he said,

"Hey, it looks like we'll be right across the hall from each other, Derek Mills."

Looking surprised to hear his name, Derek looked to the collie with a confused glance as the paper was flipped around in his crème paws to show his name in the top right corner.

"Oh, right." Derek said with a smile and a small chuckle as he took the paper back and shoved it into the pocket of his jeans.

"Are you waiting for any more crap?" The collie asked inquisitively as his head looked around eagerly.

"N-no, I was t-told to just put my name and room number on it, and it'd be tak- "

"Oh! The whole bring it up plan!" Interrupted the collie,

"I was gonna do that, but can you believe how much they wanted for such an easy job? I figure I could get some exercise and just do it myself. Well, common, lets go up to the rooms. I hear they're really nice for college dorms."

He strode away towards the large buildings, and as Derek thought about the seemingly low fee of the movers, he followed, only half-listening to the collie as he talked endlessly about classes and professors, buildings and furniture, and even teams and sports as he allowed his eyes to take in everything that was happening around him.

"You play sports?" Derek asked once the collie had gone silent for a few seconds, something Derek already knew was going to be rare.

"Well, back in high school I didn't at all, but I figure what better time to jump in then college yeah? I don't think I'll get all competitive about it, but it'll be something fun to do instead of being up in the dorms all day and night."

Derek nodded, he had never been an athletic fur, and his thin build showed for it. He was not gangly, but the slight muscle that he had only came from the occasional run he went on, or camping trips that involved a good amount of manual labor.

The collie continued to contemplate aloud which sport he would want to try out for as they entered the dorm and ascended the staircase which would take them to the sixth floor, the floor on which both of their rooms would be located. As they climbed higher, evading the moving of large boxes coming up and down the busy stairwell, the collie seemed to be struck with a thought as his head jerked around to look at Derek as he said excitedly,

"I totally forgot! The BB program!"

"The... what?" Said Derek with slight confusion as the two entered the door to the sixth floor. Once the door was shut the now bouncing collie moved down the oddly empty hall, littered with boxes and even a few long crates as he scanned the doors for their numbers saying,

"You know, Big Brother program; BB. All the freshmen are paired up to room with a sophomore so we don't get lost and stuff like that. Kinda childish, but now we'll have someone to annoy with all our questions. Oh!"

The collie had stopped just outside a door, and turned to look at the approaching Derek saying happily,

"Here we are! You're right here." as he gestured to the door behind him. Suddenly, a buzzing emitted from the pocket of Derek's pants. He slipped out a slim, expensive-looking phone and clicked a few buttons before putting it away.

"Oh, you've got a phone? What's your number?" Said the collie as he pulled out his own, already pressing numbers as he added the new contact. Derek gave his number, and as he asked for the collies suddenly paused realizing he had yet to learn the collies name.

"Hey, " Derek said just as the collie was about to enter his new dorm forgetting to give out his own number,

"What's your name? I don't think I caught it... sorry."

The collie smiled and said laughing,

"Jeff. I guess I'll be seeing you around Derek."

And with that he entered his room, and Derek was left alone in the hall.

He turned to his assigned door, and placed his suddenly shaky paw around the steel handle. He took a deep breath, trying to let go of all the worries that grasped him, forcing himself to tear away from the Derek he was for all his life, and pressed downward, pushing open the door to his new life.

But the new life stuck, and it took a few heavy pushes until Derek stumbled inwards, nearly tripping over a few boxes that had been lazily placed next to the door.

"That'd be all your shit." Came a deep, preoccupied voice,

Derek gazed over his dented and torn boxes knowing that he had not last seen them in the horrid condition they were in now, and moved his now angered gaze to the source of the voice.

It was then the nervousness and feelings Derek had just attempted to throw away were slapped back in his face, for from behind a counter separating an eating area from the kitchenette stood a large jet-black stallion, a black and deep violet jersey slung over his bare shoulder as he walked out from the kitchenette to look over Derek. He was at least two feet taller than Derek, and most notably very well muscled. He was wearing nothing more than a pair of black sweatpants that lightly clung low on his hips, and as Derek glanced downwards to the long white drawstring he noticed they left little to the imagination, a large bulge lightly pressing against the cotton fabric that seemed to reach more than halfway down his thigh.

Shaking his head briskly to advert his eyesight and ease his oddly thumping heart, Derek gathered himself and cleared his throat saying quite agitated,

"W-why would you just leave it by the door? You knew I'd be coming in eventually. You could've at least put it in my room..."

The horse shifted his weight with a smirk and said lazily,

"I brought it in for you didn't I? And where's my gratitude for that? I thought it was very generous of myself to haul those heavy boxes in from the outside."

His subtle sarcasm irked Derek to no end.

He grabbed two large boxes in his arms and walked passed the horse, careful not to make eye contact. Walking down the short hall Derek entered another hallway and paused, he looked left, and then right. He heard his new roommate laugh at his attempt to be bold and brash, and in a dominant and know-it-all voice said,

"Your room would be to the left, bunny."

"The name's Derek." He said in a quiet grumble.

"Derek, the bunny. You can call me Thatch, I'll be your big brother this year, because dumb lil' freshmen like yourself seem to have the hardest time around campus."

Without giving himself time to respond, he pushed his own body to the left, and entered the room, the door already ajar. He dropped the boxes against the wall next to a twin bed, and slammed the door shut. He leaned against it, looking over his bare walls. The single bed in the corner sat under a window, a pillow and sheet thrown atop it. A dresser was just to his left, and on the wall opposite the bed a good-sized desk. The sky outside was still a deep gray, still looking like night even though it was just the beginning of the afternoon. He pressed the lock on his door and stumbled towards the bed, and fell on to it, face buried into the flimsy excuse for a pillow.

Derek was just falling asleep when the familiar buzz emitted from his vibrating cell phone. He reached into his pockets and pulled it out, looking at the flashing envelope, which signaled he had received a new text message. He opened it, and after reading it tossed the phone aside with a scoff, it landing on the other side of the room. The screen was still aglow as Derek nodded back off to sleep, the message not even gone from the screen,

Like ur roommate?:D -jeff

Derek awoke with a startle as a loud crash bellowed from the sky above, and the sound of rain soon followed, turning from a gentle pitter-patter into pouring rain in less than five seconds. Derek sat up in his bed, and scratched the back of his neck looking around his room. He rose and walked over to his tossed-aside phone, scooping it up with his paw and holding it up to his slightly blurred eyesight pressing a button to activate the screen's light. It's only eleven? Derek thought to himself, I know I fell asleep early in the afternoon... but I thought I could at least sleep until morning...

He looked to the locked door, wondering if Thatch would be asleep or not. He'd rather not confront the horse again, but Derek was now wide-awake and not about to stay in the small room until the horse left. He opened his door slightly and stuck out his head, and once assured the horse was not in the hallway proceeded outwards towards the main room, and again peeking around the corner only entered once he was sure it was vacant as well. He sighed relieved, and walked over to the boxes by the door that had gone untouched since he last saw them. Picking a few up, he began to move his belongings into the room they belonged, stacking them right on top of the boxes he had set down earlier.

Looking over the pile of boxes, Derek sighed not wanting to unpack now. He knew exactly everything he packed, and organizing it into a room much smaller than he was used to would be quite the afternoon-consuming event. Deciding against an early start to the unpacking, he exited the room and went back into the main living area. He looked around the furniture with a slight happiness, for it was quite different from his room. There was a large couch off to one side, facing towards a wall-mounted flat-screen television over a table on which multiple magazines were scatted on to. He looked over the titles, shifting a few to see the ones underneath. The majority of the titles were relating to health or fitness, each front page littered with titles of articles such as The Best Workout Plan for the Fur on the Go and Optimizing Your Diet for Best Exercising Results, each often accompanied by a picture of a shirtless fur flexing a sculpted chest and arms. Derek gulped nervously, and decided to move on. He turned to find a small table with four seats, and even an empty candlestick on top. While the room was a bit cluttered, it looked that at one point someone had tried to decorate. He moved into the kitchenette, and seeing nothing out of the ordinary opened the fridge to find nothing more than sports drinks and an old pizza box. Lucky I'm not hungry... Derek thought as he closed the fridge.

He walked back to the hallway separating the two rooms, and noticed a third door between his door and the other. Opening it slowly, Derek opened it all the way upon noticing it was just the bathroom. The bathroom was painted a pale blue color, and had all the necessities. The shower (adorn with a glass door and a large, silver handle) was a bit larger than he expected, and took up the majority of the bathroom. He exited, and looked back to his room. I think I've explored most of the dorm he thought, a feeling of boredom growing within as he realized it had only kept him occupied for a few minutes.

His eyes glanced down the hall in the opposite direction- to the room of the guy he was to spend the rest of the year with. He walked quietly, watching each step as he grew closer and closer to the shut door. His heart was racing as he pressed an alert ear to the door, listening for any movement as his white paw grabbed onto the doorknob and opened the door just an inch. He peered in, looking for any sign of a body. He scanned what he could see of the room, and deciding it was empty opened it all the way and entered, shutting the door behind him.

The room was much different to his- there was no dresser or desk, but instead a bed that was more than double the size of his and a two-door closet. The room was not as messy as he had imagined, the bed was unmade, most of the thick, white comforter on the ground along with two fluffy pillows. There were a few jerseys on the all-white bed, looking unwashed and wrinkled. A backpack sat shoved under a chair at the foot of the bed, looking empty and forgotten. The back of the wooden chair was a simple tall, vertical pole design, topped with odd white stripes of fabric. Derek moved closer, and with a single finger hooked around the white strap and unknowingly lifted a jockstrap from its resting place. He gasped slightly and hastily placed it back down, and took a few steps back from the chair.

He continued to interestedly rummage around the room, finding more or less of the same stuff scattered about. It was interesting how there was not a single textbook or binder, or even piece of lined paper in the room. After twenty or so minutes had passed Derek began to feel a bit uneasy, I think it's time to leave a voice said from the back of his head. He arranged another stack of magazines back into the order he had found them, and turned for the door. But before his paw could reach out to open it, the door swung open with an unusual amount of force, sending Derek falling backwards and landing on his rump. Oh shit... Oh shit... he thought, body petrified and his mind racing as the jet-black stallion staggered into his room.

The askew horse shut the door behind him, bringing a glass bottle to his lips and finishing off the contents before casting it aside to a wastebasket, which it fell into and knocked over the basket, sending its contents spilling onto the floor. With both free hands the stallion began to rub his eyes vigorously as he moved shakily towards the closet, opening one of the doors with another slam. Derek had gone unnoticed, and as quietly as he could manage his shaking body he inched towards the shut door in front of him. Through the corner of his eye the stallion pulled off the jersey he was wearing and tossed it over his shoulder, landing promptly on Derek's head. The jersey reeked of alcohol, smoke, and an odd musky smell Derek had never smelt before. Regardless, he tossed it off his head as he inched ever closer to the door. He heard the unzipping and dropping of pants, but Derek's attention was fully focused on the knob in front of him. It was only inches away, and reaching out a quivering paw to grasp it felt he was home free- the roommate was obviously too drunk or high to remember anything in the last few hours, and there was no way he would remember partly seeing him within his room. His hand grasped around the cold metal knob, a feeling of victory overwhelming his body as he turned it, sending a loud click echoing through the room, along with Derek's heart plummeting into his stomach.

Thatch swirled around, his vision taking a few seconds to focus on to the rabbit on the floor, reaching out at the doorknob now motionlessly. He stepped out of his jeans, sporting nothing more than a pair of tight-fitting boxer briefs as he leaned forward and bent down to grab Derek's ankle. As the firm grip wrapped around Derek's ankle he spun around to see the horse drawing him nearer to his nearly nude body, looking like a large black mass due to the lack of light. Here it is, here it is, I'm gonna get it, he's gonna beat the crap out of me and I'll be nothing more than a bloody pulp come morning, Derek thought frantically as he was pulled directly under the massive horse. He felt the grasp on his ankle disappear, and Derek frantically flipped over to all fours in an attempt to scurry away, but felt an even stronger grasp around both legs and torso. And from behind came a drunken slur of the voice he had heard earlier,

"Hey doll, I thought I lef' you at the party. It's not like you to follow me home."

"W-what the hell are you t-talking about?" Derek spat, anger rising in his tone as he continued to attempt breaking away from the horse's grip,

"I'm sorry, just lemme go and I'll ask to get moved and I'll never have to see you again I'd just rather not get the sh- "

But before he could finish he was tossed effortlessly onto the large bed, and before he could even budge Thatch pressed down against Derek's entire body with his, pushing Derek into the bed below.

"Thatch! Thatch I'm sorry... Get-off-of- " He pleaded, the stallion not seeming to notice a single word.

It was then Derek noticed something odd in the horse's actions. The muscular body pressed against him lifted, and was replaced with two hands pressing down on his shoulders, as Thatch's lower body pressed down against Derek's mid-section, a thick bulge pressing and rubbing against his shirt was easily felt through the flimsy fabrics.

"You know I love it when you call my name... lets get that clothing off huh?" came the slurred voice of Thatch, still completely unaware of anything Derek said.

With one hand Thatch was able to not only keep the squirming Derek down but also pull the rabbit's shit upwards and his own strained underwear down just enough to release the growing member from within. Derek was only able to briefly observe the thick bobbing member above his own abdomen before the hand was returned to his shoulder and Thatch slowly lowered his now throbbing and fully erect manhood onto Derek's stomach. Derek felt the entire length push against his fur as the drunken Thatch said with a grunt,

"Unh...your fur... it got so soft..."

The large, erect member began to move slowly up and down Derek's exposed stomach, gently pressing into the soft belly fur as Thatch began to lightly moan. Derek continued to squirm, trying to get through to the horse by saying angrily,

"Thatch, knock it off, Thatch! You've made your point."

Is this some sort of sick joke? Like I'm his little... bitch... now or something? Derek thought as he tried strenuously to push back against the horse, but the horse simply moaned slightly louder, the pace of his hips picking up as Derek felt warm liquid ooze onto his shifting stomach and into his fur.

"Thatch!" Derek said sharply, only to be cut off by a loud groan from the stallion above him as the oozing organ urged onwards into his stomach, seeping more of its warm contents into his fur. Thatch began to shift his entire body, and in one large turn flipped over so that Derek was now pressed against Thatch and his thick prodding erection rather than the soft bed. It was then Derek notice the stallion's hands fall to the side, his hips mindlessly bucking under his shirt. Taking his chances Derek pushed upwards, falling off the stallion and off of the bed in a clumsy fall. Scuttling to his feet, Derek dashed for the door and flung it open allowing his freedom into the dark hallway.

He rammed into his own room, not even bothering to see if he was being followed before he slammed his door and locked it behind him. His emotions were swelling within him, not knowing what to think. He pressed a paw to his stomach feeling slightly nauseous, only to re-realize the warm liquid. Derek pulled off his tee shirt and hastily got out of his jeans, noticing something he had not before. His own arousal had become quite prominent through his own underwear. Of all times...? Derek thought, his confusion only adding to the anger he felt. Ignoring his arousal, Derek grabbed his shirt and began to clean up the mess that had sprawled across his entire lower stomach- his once fluffy white fur now slicked down and warm. The shirt did little but press and smear it into the fur, actually removing very little. With a disappointed groan, Derek tossed the shirt aside and slipped out of his underwear, his own erection only slightly noticeable as he moved over to the boxes attempting to search for either of the two containing all his clothing.

He ripped through a few finding his books, video games, and computer among the top boxes, but decided his efforts futile as he peered to the boxes buried beneath the ones he had gone though. With wracked emotions and so many thoughts in his head Derek gave up, pushing a box aside as he crawled into his small bed. He pulled the thin sheet over his head, which lay against a single flattening pillow. It was nothing compared to the bed he was on moments ago, for this one seemed much better. It took only a few seconds before Derek fell asleep, his mind and thoughts nearly numb.
