Derek set his hands on the table and looked around at each of the members of the group; Anubis was at the head of the table explaining the new information recently found. Becker silently watched from behind some of the other soldiers slowly squeezing his new hand, just an hour ago he had been transformed by Derek into a Jackal. "Now that you are all caught up let's get ready everyone." Anubis finished up his speech and looked at Derek with a serious glint in his eye, "Are you ready Derek?" Derek nodded; Anubis nodded and picked up a map off of the table. "I'm astonished that this war is finally coming to an end, after three months of continuous fighting..." Becker walked up to the table and set his hand on the table, "I had a question for you Anubis." Anubis glanced at the soldier, "What is it?" Becker closed his eyes tightly for a moment then looked back up at the god, "My brother, will he be my little brother again if we beat Ra?" Anubis sighed, "I honestly don't know, all I can say is that if don't win this then the world will share your brother's fate." Becker grimaced and after a moment nodded, "Alright, I understand. But understand this; I don't want anybody killing my brother alright?" Anubis and Derek both nodded, Becker nodded solemnly and walked away to help the other soldiers plan. Derek started to walk away to get himself ready when he felt a hand on his shoulder, he glanced back to see Anubis with a sad look on his face. "Derek, how are you feeling?" Derek closed his eyes and let out a shuddering breath, "Honestly Anubis? I'm more scared then I've ever been in my life, but if I don't do this then Ra will take over the world." Anubis nodded, "Believe me Derek, you being afraid is natural. You're about to fight not only a whole army but a god." Derek nodded and once again started to walk away but felt Anubis's hand on his shoulder, "Do you need something Anubis?" He turned around; Anubis now had a deadly serious look on his face. "Yes I do Derek; I need you to go on a secret mission. Not just any secret mission, if you fail at this mission then we are all doomed." Derek slowly nodded, "Tell me what it is." Anubis bent in and whispered in his general's ear. *************************************************************************************

Becker walked into his room and sat on his bed, he looked around the room to see all of his and his brother's stuff scattered around the room. He reached down and picked up Stratus's old shirt, "Stratus... I'll save you little brother..." He let out a silent sob as he finally dropped his rough façade, after a few minutes he heard a knock on the wall and took a deep breath and tried his best to dry the fur by his eyes. "Come in." Becker called out; a teenager popped his head in nervously. "Sir, it's almost time to leave for the invasion." Becker nodded and waved away the boy, after a minute he looked over his room. "I'm coming Stratus, don't you worry little brother." As he started to walk out the door he heard a scream from down the hall, "What the fuck?!" Derek shouted, he dashed out of the room and witnessed the boy from just a minute ago get hit by a beam of light and suddenly expanded beyond the normal proportions of a human. He quickly grew feathers, instead of becoming a normal falcon man though he continued to grow and he became a raging beast, "Go my guardian, hunt the Jackals." Ra's voice permeated the air instructing his newest minion. Becker's jaw dropped as the golden eyed monstrosity faced him, "Oh shit..." He turned around and sprinted down the hall and heard the monster screaming behind him, "Since when could Ra do this?!" He asked himself, as he reached the end of the hall he took a right trying to get to the main central hall. As Becker reached the main hall he turned around to see the monster hitting the magical barrier that Anubis had placed there just in case of this eventuality, "Anubis!" He shouted for the god, almost immediately the god appeared next to him and narrowed his eyes at the monster. "What is this Becker?" Becker shook his head, "I have no clue, one minute there was a normal kid then Ra shined this light on the kid and he became... this." Anubis frowned as he looked at the creature, "Ra could never do this before... unless..."

Becker looked at the god, "Unless what?" Anubis's eyes glinted dangerously, "Unless Ra found the Ankh..." Ra's voice suddenly reverberated in the air, "Bravo Anubis, you hit the stake right on the end. Indeed I have found the Ankh, not only have I found it but I've put it to good use as I'm sure you've seen." Anubis gritted his teeth, "Ra you're trespassing into magic beyond you." Ra maliciously laughed, "Anubis you don't seem to understand, this magic was made for the king of the gods. I believe it fits perfectly for me, seeing as once I defeat you and claim the world I'll become the king." Anubis roared in anger, "You are going to destroy yourself Ra." Ra's voice echoed as it started to fade away, "I'm sorry my old friend but it seems that I have more important things to attend to, my guardian destroy the barrier and Anubis." Becker's eyes widened as he watched the monster completely smash the spell and run at them. "Oh shit." His voice wavered in fear as he watched the monster approach them. ************************************************************************************* Derek slowly approached Ra's palace, "I can't believe I'm about to do this..." He muttered to himself, he took a deep breath and drew his leg back. "I'm a fucking moron..." He muttered to himself and kicked the front door in, "Come out and play Ra!" He shouted at the top of his voice, he immediately felt the floor start to rumble as Ra's army ran towards the door. "How dare you dog!" Herep walked to the lead of the army and glared at the Jackal, "You dare have the impudence to attack us, not only that but alone?! You insult our honor you dirty fucking dog!" Derek grinned a cocky smile, "No I don't dare to fight your whole army, I dare to fight you." Herep froze and a cruel smile spread across his face, "Fight me? What you ask is suicide little doggy." Derek took a few breaths then continued, "I have a challenge, if you beat me in a battle then I will submit to Ra and become a member of your army. Though if I win then you are to order you army to let go of their bonds to Ra." All of the members of Ra's army shouted their disagreement; Herep raised his arm signaling for everyone to be quiet. "I accept your challenge dog, I'm sure you will enjoy being my master's bitch!" Herep hissed as he slowly got into a fighting position, Derek grinned as he copied the falcon man. "Prepare to lose you overblown Falcon." The two rushed at each other and started to punch each other violently, Derek immediately felt his bones start to break under the punches of his opponent. "Shit..." Derek hissed as he traded blows with the falcon, as his punches landed on his opponent he equally felt Herep's bones breaking. After twenty minutes of fighting both of them were extremely battered, as Herep felt himself starting to faint Derek winced as he prepared to do what he had been told. Herep in desperation threw one last punch which caught Derek in the chest and threw the general across the room, Derek felt his chest collapse in on itself and he struggled to take a deep breath. Herep slowly stood up and walked over to the fallen general and grinned at Derek, "Now... prepare to join my army, general." He said the last word mockingly as he picked up the jackal by the neck, Derek screamed in pain as he felt his broken bones shifting around. Ra's army jeered at him as he was dragged through the hall towards the back, Derek heard a slow echoing clap. "Congratulations my general, you have claimed yet another minion for me and not just any minion but Anubis's general."

Herep grinned with a sinister grin, "Here you are my lord, here is a gift to you." He presented Derek's body; Ra slowly ran his fingers through Derek's fur. "What you did was foolish dog, now feel the punishment." Derek spit blood onto the god's face, "Go to hell you asshole." Ra frowned and smacked the Jackal, "I know just what to do with you." The god held out his hand and a Ankh appeared in his hand, "Prepare yourself Jackal, you shall be the first of many Jackals to be changed." Derek braced himself as he felt a warmth start to surround his body, "Urg...." He moaned in pain as he felt his body start to change, Ra grinned maliciously as the Jackal started to change. Derek felt his body start to buff out and his fur started to change to a light brown color, "Even with the power of the Ankh sadly I cannot change you all the way into a falcon but I make you into an amazing guardian." The Jackal felt his body grow and his snout became an oddly shaped beak, he had been expecting a slow brainwashing but instead he felt a huge slam in his brain. "Urch!" Derek felt his personality get taken away and his loyalties change, "A... Anubis... I hope I gave you enough time..." He thought as the last of his personality was sucked away. Ra grinned as the Jackal stood up and looked at him in adoration, "How do you feel my guardian?" Derek's beak cracked in a stupid grin, "I good master." Ra reached out and stroked the now huge creature's head, "Good, to make sure that you stay loyal I have a gift for you. Come slave!" He shouted out, Perida poked his head out of a door and grinned as he saw Derek. "Oh wow master, he looks wonderful! Thank you so much!" Derek grunted in happiness as the falcon ran up to him and stroked his head, as Ra grinned at his newest guardian a realization popped into his head. "Wait a minute, Anubis would never be so stupid to send his general alone... unless... oh Damula! He's just a decoy, Herep prep the army now!" Ra sent his mind back to his guardian in Anubis's base and found it dead. "No!" The god screamed in pure rage. ************************************************************************************

Anubis and his army walked into the archeological site, "I can't believe this is where the whole thing started..." He muttered, Becker looked at Anubis in slight awe. "I still can't believe that you killed that monster Anubis..." Anubis frowned, "The only reason I was able to defeat that monster was due to a very special person who was willing to do anything to save this world..." Becker frowned and bowed his head in sadness; Anubis turned his head and looked at the army. "I want you all to stay at this perimeter and protect this camp." Anubis motioned to Becker and had him follow him, "Alright so do you know where the mark is Becker?" Anubis questioned, Becker shook his head. "Ra didn't know the exact location just that it was here." Anubis nodded and looked around, "Let's search for it." The pair split up and looked around for the mark, after twenty minutes they heard shouts of battle and they looked out to see Ra's army fighting their own. "We need to hurry Becker!" Anubis shouted, as the pair hastened their search Ra walked through the battle and bared his teeth as his entourage followed him. Herep his general followed directly behind him, Perida with Derek close behind walked behind Herep. Stratus followed them with a dreamy grin on his face; Ra reached the camp and called out in a booming voice. "Anubis come out and show your dog face, your time is done now come face me."

Anubis slowly shuffled out and faced the other god with a serious look, Ra grinned as he witnessed him nemesis. "It's time for your end my old friend, come attack me if you can you ratty dog." Ra threw out the insults with a sneer on his face, as Anubis took a step forward Ra raised the hand with the Ankh in it and smiled. "Oops, I forgot to mention I don't play fair." He let out a blast of magic which raced towards the Jackal with deadly intent. But as the blast was about to hit him a table flew out in front of the god and was struck by the blast instead. Ra glared at the interloper who had thrown the table, "You my boy have sealed your fate." Becker wasn't looking at the god though; instead he was looking at the scrawny bird at the back of the line. "Stratus..." He whispered, he took a step forward and staggered back as a magic blast struck him head on. He coughed up black blood and took another step forward completely intent on reaching his little brother, "Stratus..." He whispered once more before collapsing onto the ground. Anubis roared in anguish, Ra started to laugh with the rest of his cronies before he suddenly came to a painful stop. His eyes widened in a confused look before he realized what had happened, "Wait don't tell me..." Anubis quickly caught on and walked over to the burned table that Becker had thrown not a minute before, "That genius boy..." He muttered, Anubis smiled at Ra and slowly slid the table around so the falcon god could see it as well. The table that the god had burned had a picture burned into it's surface, a picture of the god himself. "No!" Ra roared in complete and utter defeat as he watched the picture of himself slowly burn away and he looked down to see the same happening to himself. Ra looked up at the other god with pain in his eyes, "Please... help me..." Anubis looked at the table then back to Ra, "I'm sorry, I forgot to mention." He blasted the rest of the table away, "I don't play fair either." Ra screamed as he disappeared from the world. Every single one of Ra's follower's eyes glowed simultaneously and they all collapsed. Anubis walked over and kneeled over Becker, "Becker... Becker! Please get up Becker." Becker slowly opened his eyes and grinned at the god, "Is Ra gone?" Anubis slowly nodded with tears in his eyes, "That's good... how about all of his followers, what happened to them." Anubis sniffed, "They're all unconscious but from what I can tell when they awaken they should all be out from under Ra's control." Becker smiled and nodded, "That's great..." He took a wheezing breath, "Before I go I have one request, when Stratus wakes up I want you to tell him one thing." The Jackal took another shuddering breath and looked up at the god, "Tell him, I'm sorry that I couldn't see him play football with those moves of his." He shuddered as he fell to the ground limp, Anubis felt the Jackal's spirit flow into the afterlife. "Alright... I will..." He looked out over the battlefield and frowned at the sight, many lives had been lost in the battle. Anubis sighed and stood up, "This is going to take a lot of explaining to the other gods." ************************************************************************************* One month later

Derek slowly cracked open his eyes and looked to the side to see his boyfriend Louis lying next to him, in the month that had followed the battle Anubis had been able to change Derek back from the monster he had become back into a normal Jackal. Albeit with an odd craving for worms, sadly Anubis had not been able to undo the changes that had been done to all of the humans. They would all be stuck as jackals and falcons for the rest of their lives, thankfully Anubis had been able to change most of Europe back to its original state as well. Though certain things like Ra's palace would have to be taken apart piece by piece, Derek in the end was just glad he had his boyfriend back to normal. Well as normal as a falcon boyfriend could be, "Hey lovebird it's time to wake up." He whispered lightly into the birds ear, "A few more minutes hun, please..." Derek chuckled and kissed his boyfriends cheek before getting dressed in a pair of shorts and slipping out the front door. Most people now that they were Jackals and Falcons didn't wear as much clothing as they used to, usually it was just shorts for the guys and small shirts with shorts for the women. Derek grabbed the newspaper off of their front porch and smiled as he read the headline, "Savior memorial being built to commemorate all of the brave souls who fought to regain our freedom." They were planning on using the materials from Ra's palace for the memorial; the main piece of the memorial was a statue of Becker. "Good morning." Derek heard a voice come from the porch over, he glanced over to see Stratus's parents standing there. "Oh good morning, how is Stratus doing?" The pair smiled lightly, "As good as he can possibly be seeing as his older brother is gone." Derek nodded sadly, "Oh I was wondering, have you two seen Anubis since the funeral's yesterday?" The pair shook their heads; Derek frowned then chuckled to himself. "Well I guess it's to be expected, knowing him he's probably sitting on a bench somewhere reading a newspaper. He glanced up and smiled at the sun, "Well I hope that he knows that he'll always be welcome here since he saved us all." The Jackal slipped back into his house to cook himself and his partner breakfast. *************************************************************************************

Somewhere in the United States in the middle of a park people were walking by a park bench talking about the huge incident in Europe, since the whole Ra incident they had been floundering to get help out to the Europeans and making sure that their allies were all right. As people passed by the park bench they didn't notice a regular looking man reading a newspaper and chuckling, Anubis looked over the paper and looked out at the world surrounding him. "Truly humans are some of the most amazing creatures ever..." He muttered and looked back down at the newspaper to read another one of his favorite comics.
