Chapter 2

Landing in Afghanistan was hard... There were tanks all over the place, weaponed soldiers, in the distance crying children and women... This place was a big horror for Dante. He wanted to go back to his love.. To Rose.. But he would have to go through this, for her. And when he came back he would finally ask her to Marry him... That was his dream, to marry the perfect woman. And Rose was so perfect for him so he will ask her. But for now, he walked down the road of Horror. He walked up to the tent where he would sleep and have his armor and stuff. Looking around he saw some of his friends, greeted them and talked about the situation there at the moment. It looked bad....

Dead bodies all over the place, nurses running around. Wounded soldiers were whimpering, begging for help or to kill them finally. It tugged on Dante's nerves.

His thoughts went back to Rose... how sad she looked when he left her, for the third time. Someone called his name and he woke up from his daydream. "Yes, Sir?!" He asked and a big wolf came to him. "Good that you are here finally. Your tent is over there, dinner is ready soon, then bed time and tomorrow morning I want you to go on a trail to go to the town and protect the people there." The man said and Dante Salutes.

When he marched off he found the way to the tent to get his clothes there and relax for a bit. As he did he still had to think of Rose... Dante couldn't rest long till the bell rang for dinner... So he got up and moved to get some of the meals. Sitting down to eat he talked to some of his companions, talking about how life is, how their familys are or anything else. And then they asked about if he had a girlfriend...

"Oh yes, I do have one.. She is sweet, lovely and a perfect woman.. Her name is Rosally... Rosally Snowpaw, she is a sweet small snow leopard girl. Blonde long hair, eyes as deep blue as the sea.. So soft that I lose myself in her eyes everytime I look into them.." He said and his friends smirked. "Oh someone is in deeeep love.." His companion David said.

"Yes David, I am. She cried like never before when I left her alone.." He said and sighed. Then they had to leave..

Soon in his bed he looked up to the tent ceiling, it was boiling hot. But soon he fell asleep and dreamt of him and Rose.....

Back to Rose...

Rose was walking along the street to her college, books held to her belly as she was still sad to be alone. Her friend came up behind her and laid a hand on her shoulder "Hey Rose! How are you?" Steffi asks her and Rose looks up. "Oh.. I can't complain... Just feeling lonely is all" She says and tries to smile. "Come on Rose, I can see you miss Dante, I would too if he would be my boyfriend" Steffi laughs and pokes her cheek, which got a small true smile from her.

"Okay you are right.. Come on lets get to college." She says and moves on.

Shots woke him up. Dante sat straight in his bed, directly grabbing his MK47 and aiming it up, while pulling on his suit and the armour. His companions were away... Where were they?

Calls were heard "Dante!!" Someone called and waved him over. He quickly hurried there, but looked around if someone aimed his gun at him. Ducked he stopped at the man. "Guy, what's going on here?" He asked him and looked around. "They attacked us this morning.. Out of the wild.. No one knew, a lot of men of us died already.." The unknown man said and Dante hissed. "Assholes.." He pressed through his teeth.

Then shots were heard and the two males ducked down. "We need to attack.." Dante whispered and the other male, a equine, nodded. Both turned around at the same time and saw some protestants, aiming at them. Without a thought Dante shot one of them down quickly, soon some more followed.

But they didn't notice that two sneaked up on them from behind. With knifes... But then a branch cracked and Dante and his companion turned around, it was too late, the men jumped on Dante, and ramming the knifes into his chest, one just above his heart, deep inside, the other at the other side in his ribs. Screaming he gasped. His companion shot those two males down and looked around.

"Damnit.. We need help!!! Wounded Soldier!!!" He called out and cared for the gasping Dante. His clothes soaked with blood soon, he was crying a little. "No.. i-it can't be .. o-over.. Rose..." Dante whispered. He looked at his companion, as in like to ask for help. "Dante I won't let you die. You will see her again!" His companion said and let the knifes stuck in his body, because it would kill him immediately to pull them out.

The night came in....

It was cold in Afghanistan, his companion couldn't carry Dante into the tents, so he got a few things to keep him alive till they were found. But the medics and food only held for 2 days...

Dante got fed by his friend, called Johnny. He got his wounds cleaned as good as possible and talked with that he won't fall asleep and die. He wanted to see his girlfriend. In his fever he talked a lot about her and told him almost everything. How beautiful she was and so on.

Rose was out of school and sitting on the couch as she watched tv and news.Afghanistan.

"In Afghanistanwas an attack on a camp ground of the Army. Men from all places were shot, injured or are still missing. The missing names are: Dante Blacktail and Johnny Jumper." The woman in the TV said and Rose got a shock. Dante was missed... Her heart was stopping for a moment, her body got a cold shiver. "Dante..." She whispered quietly.

Her mother heard her and came in "Whats wrong sweetie?" She asks but then she hears it. "Oh my baby.. Come here.. He is fine!" Scarlett says and wraps her daughter in her arms, soothing her down. "Mama.. he.. is missing.." She whimpers and snuggles her head into her cleavage.

They sat there for a while,, cuddling and Rose crying....

It was in the morning when Johnny heard a car. He got up and held up a branch which was set in fire. "Here!!!" He called out because he knew they searched for them. The tank and a jeep came over and yes, they were looking for them!

Soon Dante and Johnny were in a hospital in Afghanistan, the doctors cared for Dante's wounds. "I.. want to see rose.. I want to go back to her... Please fly me there.." he pleaded the docs... After two days of him pleading to see Rose, they agreed. They called the hospital in the city where Rose lives and got him into a plane.

The telephone rang. It had been a week now since Dante has been missing. Rose moved to the phone. "Rosally Snowpaw here..?" She asks. "St.Johann Hospital here, are you Dante Blacktail's girlfriend?" A doctor asked. "Yes, I.. uhm guess.. Why?" She asks. "Well this young male is laying here, calling your name every day. And now we finally found you, could you come into the hospital? He lays on station D room 222. " The doctor said.

Rose's heart beated faster now. She directly hung up the telephone. "Mama!!! Drive me to the hospital please!! Dante is there!!" She shouts and her mother came down the stairs. "Dante? Oh great news!!! Lets get there I will tell Darlene later what happened!" She said and grabbed her keys and so on.

An hour later, they were at the hospital, looking for the station and the room where Dante laid. It was the intensive station.

It knocked on the door. Blonde curls moved into the room as dante saw them. "Rose.." He whispered. Hope got up in him, the vitals made more happier sounds. "Dante" Rose said happily and moved into the room, alone. She got to hold his hand. "I missed you so much Dante... And now.." She sniffles. "You are hurt.." She whispers and then his hand came up, holding a finger to her lips. "Rose.. I.. am fine.." He whispers. Smiling weakly.

A few weeks later... Rose was visiting Dante. Talking to him and giggling sweetly, also kissing him. One night, Dante was dreaming. Dreaming from their last dream....

In the morning Rose came. They ate breakfast together and talked. Then his vitals went crazy. "Rose.. I.. love you..." Dante whispers as the docs rushed in. Trying to revive him after his vitals stopped. Rose started crying like never before. Two nurses pulled her out of the room. "Miss Rose, the doctors cant need you at the moment, we will inform you!" One nurse said to her and Rose sat down on a chair, the whole world got blurr. Everything was fastening around her without her noticing.

A few hours later, a doctor came out. Rose's parents were there as well, holding her. "Miss Rose?" The doctor asked and she got up- "Doctor is he fine?" Rose asked him. The doc shook his head. "We lost him..." He says quietly. "I am sorry.."

Rose's heart cooled off. Her knees didn't give her hold anymore and she sank to the ground, tears falling from her blue eyes.

With that the world darkens...

A few weeks later, almost a month they stood in the church. A man at the head where the black and white coffin stood. The head of it open so everyone could see Dante. Rose sat in the first line while she listened. "Dante Blacktail, was a good soldier, a faithfull one, he was strong and loyal. Also to his girlfriend, Rose. The last thing he said to her was, I love you. And the last thing he saw, was his beloved Rose. This lovely face of hers. After the ceremony she got up and walked to the coffin, looking at his face. Nothing was shown of the pain he felt before he died. The wounds were too bad. She leaned down and kissed him, one last time.

Her tears fell down on his fur. And then her mother pulled her away.

At the graveyard she stood there, her hands folded. The coffin was closed and lowered into the ground. He would dream... Their last night. The last dream, forever...
