Ed decided that if Rick was there and knew how to get there he would know how to get back. "That's it! I'm going through!" Ed said and started to squeeze through the screen. On the other side of the portal there was an explosion as the device hooked to the T.V. exploded into blue light and the T.V. and DS were hit by an electrical backlash and they went black. The portal was closed because it was only made for two teleportation's in the first place. One there and one back.

"You seem to be interested in it though. I'm sure you will find a partner soon, Pokémon have a way of finding the one meant for them. Take Squirtle here, my son brought him home from Sandgem and he took to me right away. John had other Pokémon and I had none so he thought it would be good for me to take care of Squirtle. "About Rick, do you know where he was headed?" Ed asked as the lady smiled at her partner.
"I gave him directions for Sandgem town, but from there I have no idea. He seemed to be in a hurry though" the lady said softly, "But you can't follow him in this weather. It's about to rain and the trail is hard enough to find during the day. Tell you what; if you do some chores for me before you leave tomorrow you can stay in my son's old room! I could use the help"
Ed agreed to help the lady who said her name was Lilly. Lilly showed Ed to the room where he fell into a fitful sleep, he wasn't too sleepy but his mind and body felt funny, almost like they didn't belong here. The next morning Lilly had Ed chop some wood for the fire place and fix some things around the house. It will keep you warm and has pockets for your things"

If you are ever in need of a place to stay and you have nowhere else to turn you are always welcome with me" Lilly said and hugged Edward, "Just keep that spark of light alive in you and you'll always know the right choice"
Ed waved as Lilly's cottage disappeared behind the trees that the path Ed followed wound through. Eventually the path became rocky and very hard to follow. "I guess I can..."

Luc gave Ed a strange look and then looked sadly at him. "What's wrong?" Ed tried to say to the cute naked boy, but once again nothing came out.
Ed felt very weird. When he looked down at his hands he saw blue fur covered hands tipped with black claws. The fur covered his whole body, but was black on his bottom half. He looked at himself and then Shinx and a feeling of dread sank in. "its gunna be ok Ed" I've talked to someone and we need to get you to the Pokémon lab" Luc said. Ed tried to stand up but his legs were messed up. He found that he now had paws instead of feet and he lurched forward as he attempted to stand. Luc caught him as he fell but Ed's hand claws raked across Luc's chest cutting deep into the boy's flesh. As the blood oozed out of the wounds Ed looked at Luc and fought the tears welling up in his eyes.
Ed watched as Luc ignored the wound and helped Ed learn to stand. Ed could walk upright, but it was easier to walk on all fours now and he was much faster. Ed couldn't wear any of his old clothes except for the vest and the boots which magically turned to simple bands with small claws on them that fit around Ed's ankles. Ed shouldered the pack as Luc dressed in pants, but not a shirt. Luc had doctored his chest as best he could, but Ed felt terrible. "Sorry" Ed said and startled Luc when it sounded like he was growling.
"Sorry Ed, but you look... well you look great, but man you scare me!" Luc said and laughed nervously, "Hey, I didn't mean it like that" Luc said as Luc looked away sadly.
Ed watched as Luc grabbed his waste and hugged him tightly. The boy looked up at Ed and Ed saw tears in his eyes.
"Listen, you'll get through this! I'll do anything to help you, I don't know how this happened, but I'll stay with you" Luc said and nuzzled Ed's sort chest fur.
The streets were thankfully deserted and aside from the things Ed was carrying he looked like a huge Pokémon to anyone that looked at him. Luc took a lot of back alleyways but they made it to the lab without anyone noticing them. Ed used his key card to get in and once inside was greeted by professor Rowan who took him to a strange empty room and asked Ed to enter it. Once inside Rowan hit a button and bars closed down from the ceiling and Ed turned around just in time to see them slam against the ground. "This is for our safety Edward" Rowan said and turned to Luc, "This never happened boy, this man here is very sick and I want you to take that Shinx and leave. Don't tell anyone about Ed or I won't be able to help him"
"Will I be able to come and see him, I told him..."
"No, take his things and go back to your house. As far as anyone is concerned Ed was just another odd trainer who passed through town"
Ed was getting angrier and angrier. He saw red as he slammed against the bars and tried to move them. Something inside him wanted out of this cage now! Luc, Rowan, and Shinx all danced away from Ed as he roared at them and clawed at the cage. Shinx mewed as it skittered away and hid behind Luc who gave the red eyed monster roaring at him a sad look. "I see" Luc said and picked up Shinx.

Everything in Ed's cage was metal. Metal because Rowan had quickly discovered that Ed liked to burn anything that wasn't in an attempt at setting the lab on fire. Ed was on a steady diet of meat, milk, and rage. Ed had asked for only a few things in his cage, but Rowan had given him only a metal bench and a few other things to eat and drink with. Ed liked to lift the huge bench above his head when Rowan was around just to make the old man shudder when he thought about what Ed wanted to do to him. Every day Ed grew a tiny bit bigger and a tiny bit stronger. Already he was pushing seven feet when standing on two legs.
"I'm working as fast as I can Ed" Rowan would say sadly as Ed roared at him through his cage bars. The controls on the cage were electric and no amount of Ed's own electricity could short circuit them. Ed had tried a hundred times.
When Ed wasn't so riled up Rowan would talk to him. Rowan would tell Ed how long he had been in his cage and rarely, when Luc showed up, he and Rowan would talk about what Rowan called project E. D., named after Ed. It stood for Electric De-evolution, and after a month of listening to Luc and Rowan Ed was getting tired of listening to Rowan talking about it. "Kill... me!" Ed growled at Rowan who appeared with Ed's morning meal.
"Not today Ed" Rowan said sadly and looked at the hulking monster that was prowling in its cage. Ed roared with unchecked rage and slammed against the bars of his cage.
"Kill me... or I will kill you" Ed growled and foamed as Rowan tossed the meat into his cage. Ed tore the meat to shreds and attacked it like a wild thing just to unnerve the professor.
"Day 43" Rowan said into his little voice recorder, "Subject shows no improvement in temperament or manner, but is commanding a better usage of language"
"Fucking Human, I'll rip you're throat out and drink your blood as I tear your feeble body to shreds and..." but the appearance of Luc made Ed bite off his next string of foulness. Red faded from Ed's eyes as the boy approached. Ed knew something Rowan did not, maybe even Luc did not, but Ed could smell Luc from a mile away and knew that the boy was changing just like Ed had. It was ten times slower than Ed, but Ed could smell it getting stronger each visit. Shinx had been busy and by the way Luc was bulking up his Machop hadn't been left out.
"I brought you something Ed" Luc said and tossed something that smelled delicious through the bars of Ed's cage. Ed caught it and tore the paper off his treat. Inside was a taco, but it was soaked in spooge from Luc, Shinx, and Machop. Ed consumed it greedily and smiled an evil fanged smile. Power pulsed inside Ed and he grew an inch. His fangs grew longer and his claws sharper. He growled as muscle bulged on his body.
Lust poured off Luc as the boy watched Ed grow and to Ed's amusement Luc tossed a second taco into Ed's cage. Ed ate this one too and growled with pleasure as he felt his strength once again double as more power flowed into him. "I knew you wouldn't let me down" Ed growled as he reached forward and took a bar in his hand. He bent them like they were made out of putty and roared with joy as he made a hole in Rowan's cage"
"What did you do fool boy! He'll kill us all!" Rowan screamed as Ed tore bar after bar out of his prison.
"He won't kill me Rowan" Luc said and smiled. "I'm the only other Pokémon like him" Luc said and smiled a fang filled smile.
"Impossible!" Rowan said as he fled into another part of the lab.
"Hurry Ed" Luc said as Ed was finally free and roared as he burst from his cage, "We have to get out of town!"
"Get on my back and hold on!" Ed said and dropped to all fours beside Luc.
"Shinx and Machop are waiting outside of town on the trail to Jubilife City, I can guide you once we get outside the lab" Luc said as Ed burst through the glass doors and into the streets of Sandgem town.
The locals who saw them grinned and waved as they watched a local by ride what looked like a giant Shinx through the streets. Some people even shouted out Luc's name. Once they were outside town Ed reared up to his full height of 7'4 and looked down at the 5'9 human below him. "You know I should eat you now for taking me to Rowan, but I can't be mad at you. Why did you help me?"
"I never wanted that to happen to you" Luc said and wept openly. Ed reached down and pulled his mate up into his arms and buried the smaller male in his thick blue chest fur. "And I grew a tail last night" Luc whispered.
