my final chapter sry it took so long >.

December 17, 2541 0030 hrs, covenant carrier ship, delta corridor, hallway 03. After saving the Skirmisher, Jacob heads to the bridge to get an over look of how many enemies were on the ship. Hallway after hallway it felt like there was no end. That was, till he heard something around the next hallway, it was a 4-way intersection and the sound was coming from the left. He moved slowly to the corner peeking around to see nothing out of the ordinary, till he saw some of the wall shift. Jacob raised his carbine at where the wall shifted, "freeze, don't you move a muscle or I'll paint that wall with your blood, think I'm joking? Try me." The area where the wall had shifted, then a voice came from the area. "Ha-ha you sure are something human, going from just a timid little one to a full-fledged fighting machine, guess what happened to your parents must have given you a boost to your killing instincts." Jacob was stunned; he had no idea who this was. "Show yourself of I'll shoot." The voice giggled softly, then a body came into full view, it was Shal-tablii. Jacob lowered his weapon as tears began to form up in his eyes. "S...s...shal...you're...alive? But I...I thought you were dead?" Shal-tablii gave Jacob the warmest smile she had ever shown, walking up to him and hugging him close. "Dearest human, I can't be killed that easily, I've been trained by the best so I can be the best. So dry your eyes, now is not the time to shed tears." Jacob nodded wiping his eyes. "Right, we've got to get rid of these heretics pronto." Shal-tablii tilted her head a little at Jacob's remark. "Heretics? Those aren't heretics, those are just pirates, have you ever seen a heretic before?" Jacob replies, "no I haven't...but then this doesn't make since, isn't the covenant a strong force? So then how are they doing this much damage, normally from what I've gathered, attacking a covenant force would be suicide, unless you had an army or force of your own." Shal-tablii nodded, "yes you are correct, we would crush all who would stand in our way of the great journey. But this wasn't some attack, this was planned out and I know for a fact that there is a traitor among us." "So what do we do now?" Jacob asks. "Now? Now we go to the bridge and get our defense systems back online and take out the rest of scum. Let's go."

Jacob nods and follows right next to her, rushing down the hall. 0100 hrs, Jacob has had a hard time keeping up with Shal-tablii due to her bigger body, but they finally come up to the hall which leads to the bridge but its heavily guarded. Shal-tablii turned to Jacob, laying her hand on his shoulder softly. "Ok I'm gunna distract them, you go to the bridge and do what you can to get our defenses back online." Jacob sat there confused. "What exactly am I suppose to do?" Shal-tablii see's an ammo crate that held two plasma pistols and two beam rifles. She grabs the beam rifle and hands it to him. "Oh you're going to need this as well, gotta make sure your stealthy or else what's the point right?" Shal-tablii said with a warm smile, she pulled her active camo and equips it to Jacobs's pack that held his personal energy shield. "Only thing u need to do in order to activate it is just think of it, and the system will activate. Stay in the shadows, let no one see where you are." Shal-tablii said as she held him close. Jacob wrapped his arms around her waist seeing as how that's all he could grab onto due to their differences in height. He felt a warm feeling when he's with her, a feeling he will cherish and protect with all his might. She lets go of him and gives him a boost into one of the large air ducts, then walks out into the center of the T section Hallway. "You stop right there!" one of the pirate guards shouted running up to Shal-tablii, the rest not far behind the first. "Oh please don't kill me, please don't kill me I'll do anything so that you don't hurt me." Shal-tablii said in an obvious act so that Jacob could walk through the ducts to get to the bridge, but he didn't move yet. "Anything you say? Well she does have a fine body doesn't she brothers?'' the pirate guard says with a lustful grin with the rest of the pirate group laughing softly. They grab Shal-tablii by her arms and she is dragged out of sight. Jacob's heart sank and he knew he better do what he's gotta do quick. He crawled through the air duct and came to a small opening. It was the bridge, and the shipmaster has been beaten and it hurt badly on the deck. A large elite that had been standing next to one of the consoles, walked up to the shipmaster. These tall elite were full of scars and had almost no armor on, it then started to rant and rant. Jacob activated the camo that shal-tablii had gave him, and took aim at the tall elite. Then grabbed the shipmaster by his throat and picked him up. The shipmaster's feet dangled a couple of feet off the deck. "So "shipmaster", you're sure you don't want to beg for your pitiful life before I end it?" said the tall pirate elite. "I would rather eat my own legs before I would beg for my life for likes of you." The shipmaster replied with anger behind his words. The tall pirate elite pulled out an over sized energy sword and swings his arm back. "Seems your great journey ends here, you foolish shipmaster--." Before he could finish his sentence, a stream of light flashed before the shipmaster's eyes and the tall pirate elite dropped to its knees then collapsed on the floor, the only other pirate elites ran up to their dead leader. Two more flashes of light fly above the shipmaster and the other two elite's fall. "By the prophets what is going on?" the shipmaster exclaimed in confusion. "I am, I'm what's going on shipmaster." Jacob had gotten down and had put the rifle down, kneeling next to the shipmaster. "But, how could a human do all this alone?" the shipmaster exclaimed once again. "Cause I didn't, I had helped, and I need to go find her so I can help her out." Jacob said with fire in his eyes. Jacob put his hand out as an offer to help him up.

The shipmaster chuckled and took his hand, slowly getting to his feet. They walked to his chair where Jacob sat him down gently. "Never would I have thought I would take help from a human ha-ha." The shipmaster chuckled once again. "Shipmaster with all due respect I need to get the defenses back online, could you please show me how to do that." Jacob asked as if he was in a hurry. "simple grab that dead pirate leader's hand place it on that center console pad and when it beeps and u see solid light, say the words, "activate ship defenses" and the rest of the pirates will either be shot or put under arrest and sent to the brig." Jacob nodded and headed over to the large elite, it was no simple task trying to pull this over sized elite to a panel across the bridge. "Holy crap you're a heavy basterd. Rrraahh dammet, know what you're dead ass needs? To drink every can of slim-fast and you need to call jenny cause your ass is too big." Jacob exclaimed dragging the heavy body across the bridge. Once at the panel, the heavy hand slaps the panel, it beeped and the solid light came on just as the shipmaster had instructed. "Activate ship defenses." Jacob ordered the system, then; the screen read "defense system online. Intruder alert intruder alert, sending out security measures." Throughout the ship, Jacob heard the walls move, he pulls up a camera and it shows one hallway where wall turrets are coming out of the walls, scanning the area for intruders. "Intruders neutralized." The system announced. Jacob was still uneasy.

"Something isn't right, how did the system get offline in the first place. I don't like this, not one bit." Then Jacobs's eyes grew wide, tearing the carbine off of his back and placing it into his shoulder running up next to the shipmaster. "Shipmaster forgives me but there's someone I have to see if their safe, she's the reason why I'm here so I have to--"Jacob was cut off by the shipmasters hand. The shipmaster lowers his hand with a small smile. "Silence human, go, and find the one that you care so much for." Jacob nods his head and starts to dart for the door. "Oh and human on your way out, send a medical team my way while your out. I would greatly appreciate it." Jacob turns and places his fist against the left side of his chest bowing slightly. "Understood shipmaster." And with that, Jacob darted out. "Heh...my what a day. My ship was under attack, my ships defenses couldn't work, and my brothers were held in prisonment by the enemy. And at the end of the event, it was a human who saved us, by the prophets, what are we going to see next." The shipmaster chuckled at the very thought of the events that had happened to them. Meanwhile back to Jacob, he was in a panic; he had found the medical team and sent them to the bridge to aid the shipmaster. Jacob had looked in quite a few rooms, then the next room he saw and a trail of blood flowing out from underneath the sliding door. He placed his hand on the panel and aimed in dead center of the door. The door sprang open, and from what Jacob saw next, stunned the living crap out of him. Shal-tablii was sitting on top of a pile of the beaten up pirates acting as if nothing had happened. "What? You actually thought these worthless scum bucket pirates stood a chance against me?" shal-tablii giggled as she hopped down and walked out into the hall. Before she could get another word out, Jacob rushes her and hugs her tight. Shal-tablii gave another warm smile running her hand through his hair. "You've got to give me more credit; I've been in these kinds of situations many times." Jacob nod's looking up wiping the tears away. "I'm sorry *sniff*, I lost my family and I don't wanna loose anyone else." Shal-tablii smiles walking with him to help out the rest of the ship in the wounded and whatever else needed tending too.

December 17, 2541, 1230 hrs, covenant carrier ship, phantom/drop ship bay. "My brothers, we faced a terrible time. We lost some that were dear to us, or gained a new friend. I was certainly surprised to see who had come to my aid as much as the rest of you. The human known as Jacob, used a beam rifle and took out not only the leader, but his two partners as well. Never before had I ever thought I would put neither my trust nor my life in the hands of a human, but today is a first. I am putting in my recommendation to enroll him into our covenant training so that he may return to us a stealthier human, but not only that, he will be one of us, a brother." The shipmaster had said looking down, seeing the cheering crew, the same crew that had been glaring at Jacob, giving him dirty looks, everything now cheering for him.

6 years later...

"Shipmaster we have an officer approaching the ship." Announced one of the elite operators. "Officer? I never knew an officer would be asking to board my ship. Let them in at docking bay 03." "But shipmaster, it's not a lot, just one. Just one officer." The operating elite clarified for the shipmaster. The shipmaster at this point was dumbfounded. He made his way to docking bay 03 and called his brothers to line up along the walkway. It was a phantom transport ship, and it had just landed. The rear walkway lowered and every crew member had gathered along the pathway, from shortest to highest, grunts to hunters, bowed their heads. A blue armored figure walked down the lowered walkway. "Please do not bow your heads brothers, arise. Shipmaster it has been too long." The blue armored figure said. "Forgive my insolence but I do not know who you are." The blue armored figure tilted its head then exclaimed, "Oh man I forgot you don't recognize me in this get up, here. "The blue armored figure removed its helmet revealing to the crew a shocking surprise. It was Jacob; he had gone through the ranks and is now the equal rank of the shipmaster. "Human?! It has been too long what brings you to my ship?" the shipmaster exclaimed with glee. "I've come to see Shal-tablii." "...", the ship went dead quiet. "Come with me...there is something you must see." Jacob was confused but shrugged his shoulders and followed the shipmaster. After a little while they arrived in what looked like a cemetery room. It was quite a big room and they reached a section where it was dedicated to fallen comrades. The shipmaster taped one of the panels and a screen popped up. What Jacob had read next made his eyes grow, and his heart sinks. He walked up to the panel and made sure he wasn't misreading it but he was reading it right. "Covenant forces officer Shal-tablii, killed in battle. Date of death august 14, 2546, planet tsualtemai." Tears ran down his face, the glow of the date of death glowing off of his own eyes. "I...I was only 3 sectors from that planet...and I was dealing with the flood then, trying to contain it...and...i..i" Jacob dropped to his knee's his hand still on the panel. "And I swore I would protect my family...and...and I failed." "Human, she wanted you to have this." The shipmaster had two photos in hand; Jacob took them gently from him. "From what she told me, it was a photo of your family and your new family. And she also told me to tell you this, well...show you would be more correct. Activate final message." The screen beeped and a video of Shal-tablii popped up. "Human...well cant call you that anymore can i? Jacob, I'm making this for you because I don't know when I'll be able to talk to you. Your new family, you have protected them more often than you would think, you're a hero to all of us, were it not for you many of us wouldn't be here. Don't think low of yourself Jacob; you have a great gift of courage and a big heart. Take care of yourself, and don't try anything too reckless, see you soon." Jacob cried silently more, knowing full well that he won't see her for a very long time. "I'm sorry human...I wish I could give you some suppose but I'm afraid I cannot." Said the shipmaster. "...*sniff*...thank you shipmaster...but I know what I must do." "And what exactly is that?" asked the shipmaster. "Simple, protect those of the covenant, and their families so they won't suffer like those who have in the past."

And so goes the story of how 1 human was seen not as well a human, but as a hero to those of the covenant.
