After signing in with the officer standing guard outside of the hospital room, Mark entered, only to find that Lucario was fast asleep in bed. "The poor thing. She shouldn't be all hooked up like this, she deserves to be free to move around." Before Mark could go any further a doctor walked past Mark and over to the lucario's bed side.

"I'm sorry, but there will be no visitors for this little lady today." The doctor said as he checked over her medication and support machines.

"Hello doctor, please allow us to introduce ourselves." Mark said pulling out his badge and ID, "I'm detective Mark Vasquez, and this is my partner April Benson."

"It's very nice to meet the two of you, but I must request that you hold off questioning this lucario until she wakes up." The doctor said as he walked over to April and Mark. "By the way, my name is doctor Elliot Cox, and I'll be the attending physician." Mark nodded and handed Doctor Cox a card with his name and a number where he could be reached and instructed the doctor to call him when the lucario was awake. "I'll be sure to do that detective. Now please, she needs her rest right now."

"Understood doctor, but I'm also going to need a copy of the medical report." Without another word Dr. Cox grabbed a medical chart with a medical report that was done on Lucario when she arrived at the hospital. "Thank you doctor, If you need me I'll be on the other side of the hospital."

"Ow damn it, that hurts, I know you're just trying to readjust the bandage, but you don't have to rip my damn arm off." A male lucario griped as a male nurse was trying to fix the dressing on the wounded lucario's upper arm.

"Alright there Lee, I've got the bandage secure for now, but if you start gnawing on it you're going to have to come back here and I'm going to have to be the one redressing it, and if that happens I won't be so gentle next time." He said as he stood up from his chair. "Now, I just know you're going to chew my head off for this, but," the male nurse picked up an arm sling that was sitting on the counter, "it's the doctors orders, you're arm is going to stay in this sling the entire time until your stitches come out of your arm."

Lee began to growl as he stood from the examination bed and began to make his way to the door. "You're insane if you think I'm putting up with that for two months." Lee barked as he looked to the male nurse. "It's bad enough that I have to go on disability leave from getting shot, but if I put up with out moving my arm then I'll go insane."

"Yeah, Lee, I'm going to stop you right there, because if I have to listen to anymore of your crap, I'm the one who's going to go insane. Now I either put your arm in this sling, or I pin you down and put the cone around your head, your choice little brother."

With a huff, Lee stepped back into the hallway and looked into the room, "well then if it's my choice big brother, then I choose neither, and bid you farewell." Lee said with a small bow and turned to walk away, but only to bump into a female nurse. "Oh excuse me miss, I didn't mean." He stopped mid sentence when he looked up to the human he had bumped into. She was a slender woman in her late thirties wearing all pink scrubs; with jet black hair that normally flowed down past just below her shoulders, but was now tied back in a pony tail. She had a very angered look on her face as she stood in front of Lee with her arms crossed.

"Well, well, well, What do we have here?" The nurse asked as she took a step forward causing Lee to cower and take two steps back. "I thought I told you that you are to behave in my hospital, Lee?" She said taking another step forward, causing Lee's ears to lay flat against his head and for him to take another two steps back, and back into the room.

"I...uh.....I just."

"You just what, Lee?" She asked sternly as she entered the room. "I heard all that you said to ace,, and frankly I'm upset, now I want you up on that table, and let Ace do his job, please."

Defeated, Lee nodded his head and climbed onto the examination table to allow Ace to put his arm in the sling. "Now see how easy that was?" The nurse asked as she walked over to the table and stood in front of Lee. Lee nodded in agreement, as if he had a choice, and apologized to both the female nurse and Ace.

"Now that's the little boy I raised." The female nurse said with a cheerier tone as she kissed the grumpy lucario's forehead.

"Wow, one of the strongest special agents of the NYPD is still afraid of his mother?" Came a voice from the door way. "I never thought I would see you afraid of anything or anyone, Lee." Mark stated as he walked into the room with a laugh.

"Oh, Mark stop, and leave my little blue boy alone." Karen said in a motherly tone as she hugged Lee.

"Oh he know's I'm only teasing him." Mark chuckled as he sat down in a chair next to Ace. "So son, how was your little brother, too much of a hassle?"

"Nah, you know once mom put's her foot down, all order in the universe is restored." Ace said filling out a few charts. "Plus even if mom didn't come by, I was just knock him out with a mild sedative." Both Mark and Ace began to laugh as Lee was left to pout, with Karen's arms still wrapped around him.

"So your wife is the head nurse of the hospital, and your son is a male nurse that specializes in pokemon care?" April asked as she was handed a cup of coffee by mark.

"That's right, my son Ace has is one of the youngest working staff members here, at only age eighteen." Mark said, beaming.

"I just have one more question for you, Mark."

"Ask away April," Mark said as he leaned back in his chair.

"I was listening to you and your family earlier when your wife Karen was walking with Lee to the car, and I heard you and her call him son." Mark was sitting and nodding in agreement to what April was saying. "Why, and I'm not judging you, but, why do you call him son?"

"Excuse me, detective Vasquez, I don't mean to interrupt, but the female lucario is awake, and asking for you." The doctor said with a strange tone in his voice.

"You told her my name?" Mark asked as he stood up and started to walk with the doctor to the lucario's room.

"No sir, I didn't she just.....knew your name." The doctor said as he opened the door to the room.

Inside the room was Lucario with Riolu curled up on her lap as he peacefully slept. when the door was opened; however, Riolu's little ears perked up and began to growl at everyone entering the room. When Mark saw this he politely asked the doctor to give them some privacy.He agreed and exited the room.

"well, well aren't you a little protective pup towards your momma?" Mark playfully asked Riolu as pulled up a chair to the edge of the bed and remove his trench coat. When he sat down Mark went to pet the little pups head, only to have Riolu duck his head away and curl up against Lucario.

"I'm sorry about that, the nurses told me's been this way since he woke up here." Lucario apologized.

"It's alright, sweetie, don't worry about it." Mark gave her a smile as pulled out a pen and pad and looked to Lucrio. "Alright before I ask the big questions, I just want to get to know you a little bit," Mark said as he wrote on his pad of paper. "What is yours and the little guys names?"

Lucario tilted her head and and looked from Riolu to Mark and then back to Riolu. "Well, I guess I never named him, and my mother never named me." A look of depression came over Lucario's face as she looked upon her son that was curled up in her lap.

Mark saw the look on the poor lucrio's face and knew exactly what would cheer her up. Placing his pen and paper on his lap, Mark began to gently scratch behind Lucrio's left ear, which caused her stiffen momentarily and then go into a full body relax with her tongue slightly lulling out of the corner of her mouth, and her leg beginning to kick softly. Seeing this Mark began to laugh, "I knew it, the exact same spot as Lee, it makes him do the exact same thing." Mark said as he stopped.

Lucario's ears went flat against her head when Mark stopped his scratching of her ear, and even whimpered softly. "Looks like she didn't want you to stop, Mark." April chuckled as Mark scooted closer to the bed in his chair.

"Alright the Lucario, I'll tell ya what, lay down I'll continue to scratch behind your head, but at the same time, I'm going to need to get some information about what was going on at the apartment complex, okay?" Lucario agreed and slowly and gently began to reposition herself from her sitting upright to laying down; the pain of her illegal operation was still ever present, and growing increasingly more painful. Luckily though, with some help from Mark, Lucario was able to lay herself down on her side.

Mark handed the pen and paper over to his partner, and asked her to take down the notes from the conversation. "Alright Lucario, now just take it slow, remember only what you can, and we can stop at any time you need to, okay?" Mark was about to begin scratching Lucrio's ear when Riolu growled and pounced at mark; his tiny claws out and looking to do some damage.

Luckily though, Mark saw this in time and was able to catch the little pup mid flight. "Don't touch my mom human, I won't let you hurt her." Riolu mentally shouted out as he flailed his arms and legs in an attempt to hurt mark.

Lucario tried to sit up in anger, and scold her pup, but was quickly held down by April, knowing that if Lucario sat up, she would seriously hurt herself. "you know what buddy, I know what you need," Mark turned the little pup the other way and placed him on his lap where he quickly scratched underneath Riolu's chin, making him instantly melt in Mark's lap.

"Alright, April, I think these two are ready," Mark chuckled as he saw Riolu sinking in his lap and leaning back against him in a relaxing way. "Alright, Lucario, just like before, take your time and start from the beginning." Mark said as he began scratching behind her ear.
