Tipsy escapades - Epilogue

Vins suggested I write a little epilogue for the morning after to explain why they really didn't get along after their night together, unfortunately I am really bad at writing cheesy-Max, so we roleplayed it a little and I turned the logs into something a little more comprehensive.

Ah, what bliss! For the handsome prince Sir Maximillian to have saved the disgraced princess Liz from that terrible dragon after he had imprisoned her in that tower. Now resting safely in his strong arms, her white flowing dress billowing in the wind as they rode his magical unicorn over the rainbow and into the horizon to live happily ever after.

Liz woke up a start in her guild bed, pushing the blankets off of herself and wondering just what in the actual fuck she had just been dreaming about. She could tell from the faint sunlight streaming in through the window that it was morning, although perhaps a little earlier than she normally liked to wake up. Suddenly the door to her room opened and Max walked in, carrying a tray with a nice breakfast, big enough for two, on it.

"Oh hey, you're awake, good timing too.." The German Shepherd smiled light-heartedly, taking his pants back off to climb back into bed with her, setting the tray down. "I woke up a little earlier than you so I took the opportunity to get us both something to eat. Why have to get up to eat, right?" He kissed her cheek lovingly before continuing "Just enjoy the morning my dearest."

Liz for the most part seemed confused, blinking a couple of times to get the sleep out of her eyes. "Thanks..." She frowned a little bit at the breakfast, and then at max "Can't say I expected you to come back like this, most guys don't."

Max's tail wagged happily beneath him, thinking it was a compliment "Well why wouldn't I?" He wrapped one of his arms around her, picking up her utensils as if intending to feed her.

Liz was a littler bit uncomfortable with this kind of intimacy. Max's touch seemed perfectly innocent in intention, not what she normally got from her one-night stands. "Well I guess the kind of guy I'm usually with doesn't tend to stick around once day breaks I suppose."

"I guess I'm just different from most of your guys." He chuckled a little bit. "Did my snowflake enjoy her rest though? When I woke up I couldn't help but start talking to you, even if you were sleeping. At some point I mentioned how some little girls seem to almost always dream of sugar, rainbows, unicorns, princes rescuing them and all that. You don't seem the type to have ever dreamt anything like that, but I still wondered that, if you did, I would be your prince." He grinned in a fairly cheesy manner.

Starting to notice her discomfort with the situation Max moved the food to the nightstand for later, rubbing her back neck in a massage "Besides, you asked me last night to pretend like this was a real relationship, and I took it to heart."

Liz's frown deepened, then faded away as she started to giggle just a tad, realizing just what had happened "Oh Max, I'm sorry to tell you, but I think there may have been a bit of a misunderstanding."

The German Shepherd stopped massaging her, the look in his eyes subtly changing even without him widening or narrowing them, his smile seeming frozen on his face, rather than one of actual happiness "What do you mean?"

The girl's giggles start to get stronger "Well what I had actually asked is if you would pretend to be the kind of person who would go for a one night stand, if only for one night, not pretend we were in a real relationship for one night. But come on, you can't admit you didn't enjoy it, I remember you having quite a bit of fun last night."

His smile drops suddenly, along with his shoulders, jaw and ears. Even his back seems to slump a little bit, as if giving in to the weight of her words. Liz could almost hear his heart shattering. Any thought he had of a changing the white cat for the better were gone. Unable to form proper words he manage a mumbled "Wh- wha?"

Liz's giggles stopped with a sigh as she realized that now she had a broken-hearted fool to deal with. "Look it's really not that bad, just a couple of adults having some fun, but you know that I really belong to Xavier, I just like getting a bit of variety. And let me tell you, you were a big difference from normal, way more fun. I don't really know anyone else with hands quite so skilled."

Max remained still for a moment or two, blinking in disbelief as his mind tried to absorb the information, but then his frow started to furrow and his fur started to bristle "You were still with Xavier all along? Yet you took me over for... for THIS?!" He jerked his hand downwards suddenly, it's unclear if he's pointing at the bed or his groin. Either way he slid off the bed and started to pick his clothes off the floor to put them on, barking out suddenly "Well I hope you enjoyed while it lasted, 'cause I don't wanna ever exchange another word with you!"

All Liz could think looking at him was how anger really didn't suit the guardian's face. She shook her head and mentally reached for her magic, not that she actually believe Max would ever make a move against an unarmed girl. "Now you're really just overreacting Max. I've always known you to be a bit of a drama king, but there's no need to get so mad. Just jump back into bed with me and I can show you how happy you were with it last night."

He barely looked at her, not even bothering to respond as he finished collecting his clothes and started heading for the door. Liz jumped up suddenly to follow him, grabbing his arm and making him turn to face her, putting on her best 'puppy dog' face "Please? I almost begged for you last night, but now I actually am begging for you, just jump back into bed one more time and I'll make it worth it for you."

"... No."

He pulled his arm from her grasp and started to head out the door once more before turning back of his own volition "Y'know what? You're right about one thing." He's still frowning, but he doesn't seem so rage filled anymore "There's no need for me to waste my time and energy being angry at you, it doesn't suit me. Besides, I've had the upper hand since the beginning." He gives her a glare, perhaps even a trace of mockery in it "Hope you enjoyed last night plenty, because it was the last time we get together. An oath of sobriety, I've taken one before and only stopped because I had no reason to continue it anymore, but this seems like a damn good reason to take it up again. Let's see how persuasive you can be when my good sense isn't drowned in alcohol." He turns and this time walks out of the room properly, leaving Liz standing there alone.
