Hey I'm Shadow, I'm a wolf demon. Most people haven't seen one and live to tell the tale. I'm different from the other ones like me in a lot of ways. My father was a demon, his name is Roux. He found a beautiful Wolf,my mom, her name is Alice. She was out hunting and my father was out killing. Then the two met, they tried to kill each other but ended up making me. So here I am, 18 and ready to take on the world.

"Hey Shadow! WAKE UP!" Said Roux.

"What? I'm up, I'm up. So today i get to go out right? Right?" Shadow said anxiously

"Honey, I don't think you should be going out today. It looks like it's going to rain." Alice said with concern

"But you guys promised. At this rate I'm never gonna go."

"Alice, we should just let him go. He's going to have to leave someday, plus this'll be a good lesson for him." Said Roux

"But what if he gets sick? Or hungry?"

"Look, I'll be fine. Dad trained me, I know exactly how to take care of myself." Shadow said with a smile on his face.

"But.... But..."

"Baby, it's time to let him go."

"O-ok...."

Later that day I packed all my stuff and got ready to go.

"You have your blade?" Said Roux while going over a list.

"Yes."

"You have your food?"

"Yup."

"You have your..."

"Look I have all my stuff."

"Alright.... I'm proud of you son. Now go out there and show the world what your made of!"

"Alright! Bye guys!"

And just like that I was on my own. I headed out with 2 days worth of food, a metal dagger, and 20 coins. everything I needed to carry would be put in my lucky backpack. I lived in the woods, so the first thing I had to do is make my way out and find a place to stay. I walked until I heard a scream. I follwed the noise until I saw a girl. She looked like a cat, with a bow on her back. She was running from a wolf. So I did what had to be done, I ran in front of her with my dagger out. The wolf jumped at us but I managed to push the wolf off to the side and slash its leg with my dagger. The wolf looked really mad now, he lunged at me but as he did I see a burning arrow go through his side and pin him to a tree. I turn back to see the girl with the bow in her hands.

"Did you do that?"

"Yes, and your welcome."

"But I'm the one that came to save you."

" I didn't need any help, thank you very much."

"Well sorry, by the way. My name's Shadow."

"It's nice to meet you Shadow, my name is Mina."

"It's a pleasure to meet you. But what are you doing all the way out here?"

"What do you mean?"

"What are you doing this far out into the woods?"

"Well I was being chased by a wolf... Plus there's village just over that hill." Said Mina.

"A village? I"ve lived here for years and I've never seen a village."

"Well it's there, umm you wouldn't mind taking me back there would you? I kind of messed up my ankle running from that stupid wolf."

"*Ahem* You do know that I'm a wolf..."

"I didn't mean you."

"Well I guess I could take you back."

"Thanks."

So I picked up the cat girl and carried her to the near by village. It was amazing, this wasn't like a normal village. There were so many houses, and the people looked so friendly. The streets were made of stone, the houses made of wood, the people were dressed in finely woven clothes, and the women there looked fantastic. Mina showed me to the doctor where I layed her down on one of the nearby beds.

"Well it seems like it's nothing but a sprained ankle, you should be up and walking around in no time. For now, use this crutch."

"Thanks Doc, how much do I owe you?"

"Oh nothing, this ones on the house."

"Thank you very much, I won't forget this"

By the time Mina turned around to thank Shadow, he was already gone. Mina got up from the bed, got the crutches and started towards the door. When she got there she opened the door to see Shadow exploring the village.

"HEY SHADOW!"

Shadow turned around to see cat staring at him, with a somewhat mad expression.

"How could you just leave me there?"

"What do you mean? I thought I just had to bring you to the doctor."

"You didn't even give me a chance to say thanks."

"You did but your welcome. Now if you don't mind I have to get going."

" where are you going?"

"I don't know yet, But I really need to find a way to get some money and to find a place to stay. My parents gave me some money they had from years back."

"Well you could crash with me for a while. It's the least I can do."

"Really? Well thanks, now all I need is a job."

"Go check the pub, I think their looking for a new bartender."

"What happened to the old one?"

"They killed him with a glass. Smashed it right on his head and a shard went straight to his brain."

"..... Well it sounds easy enough. All I have to do is serve drinks."

"Have you served drinks before?"

"Well I've read about it in some of my dad's recipe books."

"Well go give it a try, it pays pretty good to. I heard that you get commission from every drink."

"Well I guess it's easy enough. I'll be back."

After their talk Shadow went to the nearby pub to ask about the new bartending job. He walks in to see no one there but a young panda. He was cleaning the glasses until he looked up to see Shadow.

"Can I help you?"

"Umm yeah, I'm here for the bartending position."

"Can you serve?"

"Umm yeah, I learned a few things."

"Show me."

So Shadow went behind the counter and got a few of the liquors out. He mixed and mixed until he took out a small shot glass and poored in a bit of the drink. It smelled really strong, and it was. The panda coughed after drinking it but it had a very unique taste. He looked at Shadow with a surprised look.

"Well that is impressive but if this is all you can do then I won't hire you."

"Oh no, that was an easy one. I know how to do more than that, but these all are a little strong."

"Well then, you got the job. You start tomorrow, but if I get just one complaint about you. Then your out. Got it?"

"Yes sir."

"Also don't call me sir. The name's Nova."

"O-ok, thank you Nova. You won't regret this."

Shadow left the pub and heads back to Mina. By the time he got back, she was already asleep. So Shadow decided to go to sleep to. But not to long after he fell soundly asleep. He heard some noises again. He got up and followed the noises to end up back at the pub. There were some mountain lions standing in front of the panda Shadow talked to earlier. Shadow then walked over to hear what they were saying.

"Where's our money, we gave you a week. Now where is it?"

"I told you guys. The pub hasn't had any customers since the incident, so I still don't have it."

"We gave you plenty of time, now your gonna pay. One way or the other."

The lions pinned Nova against the wall while another lion was getting ready to strike the poor panda. Shadow couldn't stand to see his new manager get beat right in front of him. But before he was able to do anything there was a bright flash of light, blinding everyone there. Then before the lions knew it he was gone. Nova escaped without a trace.

Shadow wondered what he saw but he was way to tired to pay any attention to it. Shadow returned to the house and went to sleep, still wondering what he saw. In the morning he got up and got ready for his first day on the job. He walked over to the bar, when he walked in he was grabbed and pinned to the wall my what looked like a mechanical arm.

"Hey hey hey hold on it's just me."

"Oh, sorry. Look I know I just hired you but umm... Well I have some good news and some bad news."

"Oh what's the bad news?"

"Bad news is, I'm shutting down the bar. Things are getting to dangerous around here. But the good news is, I have a new job opening if you're interested."

"What is it?"

"A slave, well you'd be more like a pack mule that will carry my stuff for me on my travel."

"Forget that, that sounds like way to much work for what it's worth."

"I'll pay you 100 coins a day and give you food."

"100!?"

"That's fair isn't? I am going to be giving you food to, remember that."

"Well ok! But umm... There is this girl I met and it doesn't seem right to just leave her...."

"She can come to, means I can just take more stuff. But I doubt she can care the same amount as you. So she'll only get 60."

"Well alright, you don't mind if I go ask her do you?"

"Go ahead, but we have to leave by noon."

So Shadow runs out of the pub and straight to Mina's small hut.

"MINA! I have amazing news!"

"What? What is it?"

"My manager said he's closing the pub!"

"What?! That's terrible news!"

"But listen! He's willing to pay us for carrying stuff while he travels."

".... Are you serious? Does it look like I'm in a good condition to travel?"

"Don't worry. I'll carry your weight until your foot gets better."

"Ok but how much does he pay?"

"He'll pay you 60 coins a day."

"60!?"

"Great huh?"

"Yeah, I mean if you'd be willing to help me."

"It's all good, go and pack some of your stuff and meet at the pub, we leave at noon."

"Got it."

Later at the pub Mina, Nova, and Shadow meet up. All packed up and ready to go. They check one last time at what they have then head out. Now heading on their new adventure.
