Friendship Trial

Eons ago on a distant planet, located in between a dead star and a floating amusment park, two young men were preparing to battle in a strange way. Well the bettle seemed weird to the others around them but the two adolescent creatures had done this sort of battle since they were very young, "ready?" the taller, medium sized, green coloured cheetah yelled.

"I sure am buddy" the slighlty pudgy, purple penguin shouted back, as he threw a black coloured sphere into the gap between them. The sphere promply cracked open, emitting a flash of light which lingered for a moment and then dispersed, revealing a medium sized Charmeleon. The cheetah chuckled as he threw a normal red pokeball into the gap, which opened and emitted a light blue glow before a small Drifloon floated through the light.

"A Drifloon" the penguin chuckled "that'll have no chance against my Charmleon, right Blaze?", "Char!" the red coloured lizard replied, as it eyed up it's floating opponent. "I'll get things started shall I?, Blaze lets go in with a Metal Claw attack". Blaze's right paw and claws started to glow as he prepared the attack, however the cheetah didn't look affected by the choice of move at all. "Drifloon remember the plan" the cheetah said with a smile, as the fire pokemon started to run towards the penguin's floating Drifloon.

"Char char!" Blaze called as he manged to hit the flying Drifloon with his claw, "looooon" Drifloon cried as it was forced backwards by the hit the move, having been hit head on with it. "Drifloon are you alright?" the cheetah shouted as he watched the charmander as it charged up another attack, "loon loon" Drifloon replied, as it steadied itself in the air preparing itself for the Blaze's next attack. "Thank goodness, now get ready he's coming back for another go" the cheetah warned as Blaze ran towards his wounded Drifloon, "wait for it Drifloon... now!" the cheetah said with a flick of his snowy tail.

The ghost pokemon quickly ducked down in the air to dodge the attack and with a little flip attached it's dangling twin tails around Blaze's waist, pulling him upwards a few feet into the air. "Wow, how did Drifloon dodge the attack so quickly?" the penguin muttered, as he watched his charmander dangle in the air above him. "Blaze use Flamethrower to break free" the penguin suggested as he watched helplessly, Blaze immediately opened his maw letting out a burst of red flames which hit one of the driftloons tails, making it uncurl leaving Blaze dangling in air by just one of the thin tails.

"Loon loon" Drifloon shouted as the hot flames burned it's tail making it release it from the fire pokemon's waist "Drifloon, do as we planned before you take another hit" the cheetah shouted worriedly as he watched Blaze getting ready for another Flamethrower, "loon" the floating Pokemon replied as it started to spin around and around, faster and faster. Blaze let out another burst of flamethrower that narowly missed the Drifloon, before he started to get confused "char.." he exclaimed as he got really dizzy.

The Drifloon suddenly swooped towards the ground still spinning like a Merry-go-round "no Blaze! Snap out of it quick", cried the purple penguin, just before driftloon let go of the charmeleons waist making him smash face first into the gravel with a painful thud. The dazed lizard got up and let loose a flame towards Drifloon , the balloon pokemon swiftly dodged this last attack. His trainer though...wasn't so lucky, getting hit by the red hot flame square in the chest.

"Ooof" the cheetah exclaimed before falling to his knees "ugh that smarts...Drifloon, finish him off for me would you please?" the Drifloon drifted over to the still dazed Charmander, proceeding to shoot a cloud of yellow stars at the lizard pokemon. Blaze yelped as he was hit by just 4 of the tiny stars before he flopped backwards defeated, "you did well Blaze" the penguin said as he pushed the button on his Pokeball, returning Blaze into it with a flash. He then ran over to the cheetah "are you alright Charlie?" he said with a worried frown. Charlie looked up as he returned his driftloon into it's Pokeball "uggh yeah I think so, but it still burns a little, great battle by the way Peter". Peter crouched down next to his friend "indeed is was, I never expected Drifloon to dodge like that, here let me help you" Peter said, grabbing Charlies arm and draping it over his shoulders, lifting the cheetah up despite his small size.

"Thanks for the help my friend" Charlie said with a smile, as his friend helped him walk towards the crowd that had gathered around them. The crowd parted to let the two friends through, Pete helping his injured friend to the nearby Pokecentre, which happened to double as a hospital."It's about time I returned the favour isn't it?" Pete said with a chuckle "yeah oof, how long ago was that anyway?" Charlies asked quizically, as they entered the air-conditioned reception of the Pokecentre. "About 3 years I think" Pete answered as a nurse who resembled a Phoenix with rainbow coloured feathers came over to help them.

"Hello there, I'm nurse Joy, it seems you've got yourself into a bit of bother. Please follow me and I'll see what I can do" she said with a smile. The two friends followed her into a small, well lit room that contained a bed, an arm chair, a table and a window that looked out towards the various battle arenas outside the Pokecentre. "Here we are, make yourselves at home, lay on the bed or sit down if you wish while I get some medical supplies" Joy said with a smile, as she wandered out the room to search for said supplies. Peter helped his wounded friend over to the bed and gently lowered him onto the white coloured sheets "there is that comfy for you?" Peter asked, as he sat at the foot of the soft bed "yes it is, thank you my friend" Charlie said with a grin.

Charlie offered his paw to his penguin friend "Okay, then let's shake to another thrilling battle". Peter placed his hand-like flipper in the green paw and shook it lightly "let there be many more to come my friend, although not anytime soon" he chuckles, as Joy reappeared in a blur of bright colours. "Everything alright?" she asked, as she lifted Charlie's shirt to get a look at his chest "yup, everything's alright nurse, the pain is letting up a bit now", Charlie replied, as Joy covered his chest with a cold gel then proceded to wrap his chest with bandages. The coolness of the gel made the cheetah shiver a bit, but he knew it was for his own good.

"Thank you for your help nurse Joy, would it be okay if I stayed with my friend here?" Peter asked politely "of course you can, there's an extra pillow and a blanket on the chair that you can use" Joy said cheerfully, as she padded out of the room before closing the door behind her. Peter walked over to the chair and moved the pillow, before sitting in the strangly comfortable chair. He draped the blue coloured blanket over his legs, before he glanced out the window. He saw that it had gotten dark outside, before the curtains closed automatically "well it's time for some well earned rest old chap" Peter said with a chuckle as he got himself comfortable, "who you calling old?" Charlie replied with a snicker as he lay back against the soft white pillows.

Peter giggled a bit, hearing his friends reply before he found himself drifting off, Charlie stole a quick glance at his friend as he also succumed to sleep. The two friends falling into matching dreams about thier next epic battle and each of them smiling as they slept, remembering their past adventures spent together as they always would.
