Fate Of Ank\'Nal : The Beginning
The sun was slowly setting down on the edge of this unending sea of sand. Although the day was at it's end, the temperature was still more that the young and intrepid archaeologist, Anna, could handle. Her long blond hairs now filled with sand continuously itched her scalp. She would never cease to complain about these living conditions. Daughter of a rich weapon dealer, Anna had the most spoiled childhood imaginable. Nowadays, Anna had gotten a sudden interest in world's antic civilizations. She had travelled to Rome, and actually stole a fragment of the dome's wall. She explored the Aztec pyramids and stole a large statue of their serpent god, and now, with her disloyal party of mercenaries, she'd plan to take any remaining valuables that the Great Pyramid of Khufu had left to offer. Her group consisted of four individuals excluding herself, Ashnu, an old Arabic thief, who knew the desert more then anyone else. Andrew, a large framed American dynamiter. Antonio & Marco, two twin brothers, two incredible marines, about thirty years old, both of them had the endurance and survivability of any life-long soldiers.
After two days spent travelling on the back of a filthy camel, Anna was relieved to finally see the tip of the pyramid in the far horizon. The five adventures reached the ruins when the moon stood high in the cloudless sky. The young teenager quickly jumped off her mount and caressed her lovely round butt, covered by only a think pair of beige shorts.
-" Damn critter, my ass hurts like hell now!" -Anna complained
-"Quit yapping! We're here aren't we?" -Andrew responded as he started unpacking his sets of explosives.
Anna only responded with a grimace and walked easily toward the pyramid, letting the pleasure for the guys, to carry all the equipment.
As the feminine leader made her way to the large triangular monument, she examined her clothings to make sure no bug had crawled on her. Anna had a horrid fear of insects, so many legs, mandibles and eyes! Her tight explorer's vest was in the same palette of colours then her bottom wear. Her brown work shoes seemed as old as this pyramid was but no sign on buggy lil things. The blond girl looked back at her servants, all of them except ol'Ashnu seemed to be carrying anything heavy, sweat dripping from their forehead. Ashnu in his long white dress, only leaded the others. Andrew was wearing a pair of used jeans with a small tarnished white camisole which matched his short brown hairs. The twins, were busy with the large empty crate,in which they would put their founding if there was any, they both wore the same outfit, desert camo suits and bold heads. They all stopped in front of the dark entrance and carefully installed the material there. Andrew walked up to Anna and asked her with an uncertain tone of voice:
-" Hey Anna, we'll have to make it quick, the authorities may show up at sunrise"
The girl nodded and responded looking in her small backpack for a flashlight
-"I know, is everyone ready?"
The twins quickly cleaned their forehead and said panting a little " Yes, we're... ready"
Each member of the group looked at one another, in a synchronize motion they took out their flashlights and lay foot inside the pyramid. They examined the mural hieroglyphs, looked in every single rooms, after a few hours in the depths of the building, the stench of death filled the air. Anna, trying to retain herself from hurling, indicated to the rest of the party that they must be getting closer to where the pharaoh was found. They ended up in a large square shape room, dust floated around the room like butterflies.
-" Ok guys, let's try an get a piece of this mural!"
Anna whispered as her flashlight pointed to the main tablets of hieroglyphs that covered the back of the room. Andrew smirk and stretched his arm in his backpack and brought out a pair of dynamites.
-" I'll handle that sweety!"
He said lighting them both, throwing them at the other side of the room.
-" NOOOO"
Anna opposed, worried that this may cause the structure to cave in. But it was too late, before she could even try to explain, the two tubes had blown up. The room was quickly filled with dust, the room shook and the noise of something crumbling resonated threw the place. After a few moments, the dust clouds lowered and rested on the tile floor. Anna looked around panicked, having lost her flashlight and seeing not any other light up, she was plunged in darkness
-" Guys?!! Guys?!! "
She yelled, but no response, she dropped on her knees and lay her hands in front of her, hoping to find a way to light the place. The sound of her heartbeats was the only thing she could hear. Her hands desperately searched the ground and finally found a familiar cylindric form. She sighted in half relief and turned the flashlight on. Her eyes widened and she stopped breathing. Half of the room's floor had been destroyed, making way to a strange tunnel that stretched far underneath the pyramid. She looked around hoping to find at less a proof of her mercenaries demise, but no corpses in sight, even worst, the doorway by which she had entered the room had given up and was now unaccessible.
-"Fuck, fuck, fuck, fuck!!!"
She said, unable to believe that she would see the end of her life here. She was much to beautiful and rich to die in such a miserable location. As she desperately tried to find a way to leave the stone coffin, her eyes captured a glimpse of light, she aimed her flashlight toward the location. It was the wall that Andrew had so gracefully blown to pieces, and although the tablets had been turned to smithereens, a secret gold plated mural was uncovered beneath the rocky debris of the tablets. This discovery in itself brought a lit smirk on Anna's face, she sat on the rough ground and examined the strange drawings that had been uncovered. On the wall seemed to be represented some of the great Egyptian gods, like Ra, Anubis and Bast, bowing to ...... Anna gasped as she observed the odd figure, it looked like a large scarab, which was crowned with a similar crown to both Ra and Bast... This was the first time she ever heard of a Insect god among the pantheon of Egypt's belief. The gold of the mural seemed to be concentrated around that very same creature... Anna was for the least left complexed, she continued to examine the mural with attention and found a representation of the pyramid, not too far from the large golden insect. What truly left her wanting to know more was the reason why, underneath the illustration of the pyramid was an identical upside down triangular form, sadly, the continuation of th mural was still covered by the remains of the tablets and were out of reach since the floor had break down. A displeased sight escaped her small lips, she would have given anything to know the rest of the story. She rose up and approached to crevice to look just how deep it was. Her flashlight wasn't powerful enough to lit the whole tunnel, she guessed ti must have been at least a hundred meters deep... Her thoughts were cut short as she felt something on her shoulder. She slowly turned her head and her face turned bleach. A huge beetle was standing on it. Anna yelled her lungs off and jumped, trying to get the creature off of her. As she landed, she lost her balance, she screamed and fell into the large hole....
