Frostbite

The wind was bitter cold and the sky was black as night, because it was indeed night. Like an enormous inkwell spilled over the sky and only the minute pricks of light that were the stars sparkled down on the slumbering North.

The Ice and snow of the Artic was so vast and deserted, not even polar bears and penguins roamed the surface of the top of the world. A lone igloo was situated on the snowy turf and wind whipped dusty snow around its egg-like exterior. A small light was penetrating through the thick ice and snow blocks that made up this shelter, for within the dome was ilbv, wrapped in seal skin blankets and furs. He was wearing an outfit, common with the attire of an Eskimo. In fact his Eskimo guide had left with the dogsled to go and gather more provisions from the base. The only problem was that it had been fifteen hours since ilbv had seen his guide or the dogs. He was alone, and although warm, he had no food.

What he didn't know was that his guide had no intentions of returning, this was not by any means because the man was evil, but because he was fearful and superstitious. His years of experience and the heritage that ran through his blood were enough to detect the dangers that lurked in the white blindness of the icy winds and barren land.

The guide felt extremely guilty to leave his innocent passenger behind, with no knowledge of the doom he was to endure. He prayed to the Great Spirits that the young man would perish from the cold in his sleep than to starve or be faced with the dangers of the Arctic.

The dogs had all whined and yearned to return to the human they had left behind, even though they too felt and sensed the danger. They didn't want to leave him, they had developed a love of the human that had been on this journey with them across the Arctic Circle, the young human had a way about him that made him irresistible to the large Huskies, who frequently had piled on top of him, trying to snuggle and get closer. They licked him endlessly and wanted his taste inside them constantly. "I'd swear they wanted to eat me." ilbv thought. He was like their own little puppy and they wanted him to be safe, but now, being dragged away by their fearful owner, the dogs were devastated and scared of what would become of their friend, who they would never see again.

In the frozen wastelands, there lived an Ice dragon; this dragon had caused the village so much fear and suffering that the villagers were actually terrified to enter the beasts land. Today though, the dragon was out hunting, looking for something that would be a treat for his taste buds rather than the normal polar bear or seals. However in another area of this dragon's land was a second dragon who was also hunting something unique, however this dragon wasn't from around the frozen plains.

ilbv huddled under his blanket and rubbed his hands together. "The cold is starting to creep in, I really hope my guide gets back soon, it's been hours." The icy air felt like the whole landscape had been chewing fresh Mint Gum and the coolness made everything very sensitive. Closing his eyes, ilbv focused on the sounds of the wind and the icy air. He had focused for so long that as another hour ticked by he had not noticed that now the wind was completely gone and the air was as still as the water on the bottom of the ocean. The sound of silence nearly made him fall asleep.

Nearby the small and defenseless human, the large frost dragon was hunting, catching a very strange scent, the dragon grew curious and began to follow the smell which slowly lead him towards the lone igloo

The dragon, experienced and agile, made no noise as it descended upon the small igloo. Inside it, ilbv was rocking back and forth in the almost vanishing heat of his sealskin boots and fur blanket. He had no idea that about fifty feet away, an enormous dragon, bigger than a monster truck, was smelling him out.

The large frost dragon spotted the igloo and grew very curious thinking "Why does such a strange object give off a very interesting odor" the dragon approached the object and placed its claw on it lifting the igloo up and spotting the human inside. The Dragon stared, grinning to himself.

ilbv hadn't seen the enormous claw slide under the entrance, or even heard the igloo get chucked away. What he did feel was the huge rush of cold that swirled round him and almost squeezed everything warm out of him. He opened his eyes, but in the frantic realization that the igloo was gone and he was sitting alone in the barren wasteland of an Arctic desert, he didn't even catch notice of the dragon. Clutching his blanket around him, ilbv stood shakily to his feet and turned to look out into the distance. His back was now facing the grinning, razor-toothed dragon.

The dragon lowered his head down to the unaware human and sniffed "ahh so that's where the scent is coming from"

ilbv clenched his teeth in the cold, he felt like he had brushed them and was feeling an overwhelming and powerful icy coolness in his gums. His eyes, partially shielded in the hood of his get-up were watering from cold. He afraid they'd freeze in his face, so he quickly blinked them away* ilbv took a deep sigh and clutched himself close. "I hope the guide gets back soon, we are going to need shelter and it's freezing out here."

The dragon grinned fairly evilly and thought rather than just eating the small human, he would make it interesting, he tapped the humans shoulder with his icy talon.

ilbv almost jumped through his skin when the dull, but very heavy and still pointy tip of the dragon's claw fell upon his left shoulder. He cried out in surprise and fell as the dragon's talon continued to push him to the ground. A second talon right beside the first slid along ilbv's front and shredded his sealskin blanket. ilbv was pinned to the ice and snow on this beautiful calm night by an enormously huge dragon that already seemed to be crushing him to death. His warmth was gone and he was fully doused in the freezing Arctic air. He had minutes until he would freeze to death. ilbv looked up into the yellow eyes of this beast, so large it could have fit a city block on its back. "Or in its stomach" ilbv thought, terror-struck.

The dragon gave off a very large and deep chuckle, he lowered his head and spoke "Human you do realise you trespass in my territory?" the talon pressed on ilbv not enough to harm him but enough so that he couldn't escape.

ilbv eyes filled with tears, he was trembling and freezing cold. He had never conceived the possibility that dragons were in the Arctic, he was sure he was safe, taking this journey. Garth had wanted to accompany him, Jett and Thunder said he shouldn't go alone. Max tried to hold him back. Nick had offered him guns and spears, Pike and Sharkie said they would swim the icy waters and be near the shores if he needed help. Varg was away with his girlfriend and OD was at a convention with his friends.

Leon was on Patrol in his city and had no idea ilbv had even travelled. Anthony was with Leon and had been meaning to mention the trip, but he fell in Leon's Slushi and...well...

Kaiser would have been there in a heartbeat if he had not been busy with his other humans and furries. Vorelord had been swamped with work and was not able to accompany ilbv on the trip and Saber was still on vacation. Vrak would have accompanied his little pet, but he was moving states at the time and was not able to make it either.

All these friends and more floated through ilbv's mind as he looked up into what he was afraid was the face of Death. "I..I....." ilbv stuttered in terror. The Dragon only seemed to smile wider. "I d-d-didn't know...I'm s-sorry." ilbv pleaded desperately.

The dragon let out a fairly evil laugh "you know, I'm not one for an easy catch, so when I let you go..." he lowered his head right next to the human "...run" his breath felt very cold.

ilbv was trembling like the whole earth was shaking him. As the immense claw rose off of him, ilbv stared up at the huge dragon for a minute, but as it bared its teeth and roared, ilbv yelped and took off running. He was coatless and freezing. As he ran the air began to rush and it felt like the wind was all around him again. Snow got thicker and ilbv was running as fast as he could, which only made the dragon laugh. To him, ilbv was an easy and pathetic catch.

The dragon chuckled giving ilbv a head start, he knew he would catch him, but he felt as though he should let ilbv build his hopes in escaping then catch him breaking any hope he had left in the short time.

Meanwhile the other dragon was exploring the snowy landscape in search of a special treat for his son; this dragon caught a scent and decided to follow it since he was the first scent it smelled since he had landed there.

ilbv was getting distance at last, the large dragon now only appeared to be as large as a toy car. ilbv was trying so hard to escape, and by this time he had exhausted himself and was so frozen he was ready to pass out. When he turned around to look, he no longer saw the dragon at all. ilbv felt hopeful, but when he turned back to face all the land ahead of him, his heart sank. There was so much emptiness to go and he had no protection. ilbv was shuddering violently and he felt like he wanted to cry, but could not produce the tears. "At least I've escaped the dragon." he thought.

This was not however the case. In order to trick his quarry, the dragon had buried itself in the snow to appear that ilbv had gone so far as to escape its sight, but the dragon could see ilbv the whole time and it was getting impatient. ilbv took one more step and couldn't go farther, he was too cold and he was afraid frostbite was about to claim his nose, ears, cheeks, and fingers. Hypothermia was most certainly set in by this time and ilbv was minutes away from death.

The dragon began to think this was a waste of time and was about to make its move to end the human's life, however its thoughts changed upon seeing another large dragon land near the human, this dragon had dark grey scales, his underbelly a light grey and eyes as blue as pure water. The grey dragon looked at ilbv and asked "human, are you ok?"

ilbv was barely able to stay focused and awake. He looked up as another enormous dragon flew upon him and landed in the snow with a thud that shuddered the earth. ilbv's head hurt painfully and he managed a helpless cry before going black.

The large dragon took pity on the small human and gently scooped him up in his large paw; he took to the skies and eventually took shelter in an abandoned warehouse hoping that the human would wake.

What the dragon didn't know was that ilbv was suffering from severe hypothermia and needed to be kept warmed until his body temperature could function again at a normal level.

The dragon closed the large doors and approached the human, he placed his claw on the human feeling that he was very cold, he thought and had an idea, he picked the human up and placed him on his large soft and cushiony blue tongue and closed his mouth around him, he lay down and waited hoping the human would wake up again

It was hours before ilbv began to come to. The dragon's saliva was seeping through ilbv's skin and warming him. The dragon itself had napped a little and in doing so his jaws parted slightly. ilbv stirred and opened an eye, when he saw the row of razor sharp teeth glinting off the light that shone through the gape in the mouth, ilbv realized where he was and a second later realized what he was lying on, for the tongue had risen slightly and ilbv sunk into the softness of it. "oh my gosh! I'm about to be eaten!" ilbv cried. He sat up quickly and turned away from the deep fleshy tunnel that was the dragon's throat.

Looking at the gap, ilbv feared he was not going to be able to escape. "I must try." he told himself. Sliding slowly forward, ilbv glided across the dragon's tongue as it made slimy gooey noises against his body. The saliva was thick and the texture of melted gummy candy. ilbv reached the tip of the dragon's tongue and just a head was an opening between two enormous teeth, but right above the gap was the tip of another tooth, shining like a spearhead.

The large dragon was completely unaware that the human inside his mouth was awake and was still sleeping rather soundly, the dragon rolled over in his sleep which opened his mouth wider which gave the human enough space to climb through the teeth unharmed.

As the dragon rolled, ilbv slid off the tongue and rolled onto the rigid roof of the dragon's mouth. He was still very cold from the waist up, only wearing a thin t-shirt. He still had his snow pants and boots but it was not enough to keep him alive if he was to venture away from the warmth of this dragon. ilbv was torn as to what to do. "I at least need to escape his mouth." ilbv though and crawling forward, with the deep rumble of the dragon's vocal chords growling sleepiliy, ilbv crawled out between the teeth of the beast's jaws.

As ilbv climbed out of the dragons jaws he felt the cold of the wind embrace his skin once again, as he turned to the dragon he noticed the dragons eyes began to open, the dragon spotted ilbv standing outside and smiled at him

Watching the muscles of the dragon's lips and jaws to contract into a grin made ilbv not dare to move. "Crap! He spotted me." ilbv thought, but he was once again shivering and trembling and for a moment dropped his gaze at the dragon to tuck his hands under his arms and bend down, trying to turn into himself.

The dragon smiled at him and spoke "Hello human, it's good to see you awake" the dragon lowered a claw to him, his voice sounded calming and friendly, in the dragon's mind he hoped that the human wasn't too scared of him.

ilbv jumped backwards and fell down on his butt as the dragon's claw advanced on him. ilbv swallowed nervously and was trembling furiously with fear and cold. He wanted to cry, but his tears did not come. The dragon's claw froze, not moving any closer. ilbv swallowed nervously and took a small crawl back. He was looking up and down at the gigantic grey dragon that was lying down in front of him. It's head, now raised up high on a huge thick and long neck, was towering over ilbv and nearly filling his frame of view. ilbv followed the dragon's neck with his eyes down to its body and limbs. The wings, the claws, and finally the tail, all of it was enormous and shiny.

The dragon could sense that ilbv was frightened of him and thought to himself, he lower his head down to ilbv's level and smiled before saying "My names Kren, nice to meet you"

ilbv covered his eyes, he was scared the dragon was bringing its head down to bite him. When the dragon spoke, ilbv lowered his hands slightly and looked up into the big blue eyes of the beast. He was confused as to why he had not been slashed to pieces, feeling a small amount of bravery ilbv managed to say, "I..I..I'm..ilbv." He was white with fear and biting his lower lip.

Kren smiled happily "ilbv I'm very happy that I managed to help you, you looked really cold out there" Kren saw that ilbv was very scared however this didnt surprise him to much considering he woke up inside his mouth and he was talking to a large predator that could kill him easily.

ilbv took a deep breath. ilbv was really surprised at the kind tone with which the huge dragon spoke. He felt very confused and oddly intrigued, but fear was his capitol feeling and he still didn't know what to expect. He was still freezing cold and afraid that the dragon could be pulling a joke and is biding its time before it slays him.

Kren was growing very nervous, he had not really dealt with humans much in the past, he decided that the best way to gain trust was that if ilbv was to talk back to him then maybe he'll begin to trust him more, Kren asked "ilbv if you don't mind me asking, why were you out in the snow?" he showed a concerned face puzzled as to why he was out there freezing.

The Ice dragon came rushing back into ilbv's mind and he let out a small yelp. "Oh! Th-there was another dragon, h-he was as big as you! H-he was going to eat me!" ilbv covered his eyes again and trembled. "I'm so cold." he said as he shivered. To himself, ilbv was trying hard to convince himself of this dragon which called itself Kren that it was not going to hurt him. But the other half of ilbv was not very trusting of any dragons at this point. "You idiot! You'll die if you don't get warm! That dragon was holding you safely, he could have eaten you so easily but he didn't! Trust him!" ilbv yelled at himself. ilbv fell to his knees and swayed slightly.

Kren felt very sorry for him and raised his head to the windows near the roof of the building "Well ilbv I don't see him, but I won't let my guard down, I don't think he would have given up so easily" he carefully picked ilbv up and held him against the underbelly on his chest "If he shows up again to hurt you, I'll protect you"

ilbv gasped sharply as the long fingers pointed with dagger-sized claws wrapped around him and hoisted him off the ground. He winced a little as he felt the strength that the dragon had, just in one claw. His heart was pounding really fast and ilbv was breathing slowly as he looked down at the ground which slowly became farther away. Surprising to him, ilbv was not so terrified as the dragon held him close, but he still held onto fear that something might change in the dragon's mood and he might end up on the other side of the belly he was being held against. ilbv decided to brave a question. "Wh-what d-do you want from m-me?"

Kren was puzzled by this question and felt rather confused but decided to answer his question "Well, I'm not after anything, you see I was out in the snow too, but I found you freezing in the snow, I couldn't let you die, I'm not that kind of dragon, promise" Kren showed a reassuring smile down to ilbv.

ilbv shivered and felt the surface of the scales of Kren's body. He was smooth and almost reminded you of smooth stones. The large paw that covered ilbv was warm, and soft underneath, the large and long talons curled out and looked frighteningly beautiful. ilbv gulped and nervously nuzzled himself close into the dragon's side. He was still so cold, and the body of the mammoth reptile was so warm and almost hypnotizing.

Kren smiled when he felt ilbv nuzzle him and slowly descended his head to him and began to nuzzle him gently, he also murred to try and show that he was going to be gentle, when Kren nuzzled him he felt that he was still very cold but didn't have any ideas that he could use that ilbv would be comfortable with.

ilbv began to blush as Kren brought his massive head down to touch and gently nuzzle his own small body. He didn't understand it, Kren was a powerful beast, strong and dangerous, but by his own will, decided that the helpless human he had found in the snow was too precious to hurt or abandon, so he instead took him with him and began the process of getting him warm again.

The fact that ilbv could blush meant his face allowed blood to flow there and ilbv too realized he was getting warmer. He sighed deeply and satisfyingly, "This dragon really does seem to care about me." he thought. "I...am actually surprised but I do feel safe with him."

Kren felt happy that ilbv was beginning to trust him, but the other dragon stuck to his mind and he needed to ask ilbv something that would probably cause him fear, but he needed to know and asked "erm ilbv, about this other dragon, what kind of dragon was he?"

ilbv clung tighter to the dragon's body. "H-he was as big as you..and...and he was b-blue and yellow." ilbv trembled, and his breath was f-f-reezing."

Kren looked down and patted ilbv gently against his body "its ok, now were there any signs to show what he could breath, like a fire breathing dragon?"

ilbv was pressed into Kren's body as he was patted and snuggled close to the warmth. He tried hard to think about the other monstrous creature, but it was all escaping him. "I can't remember." he said sorrowfully.

Kren nodded "it's alright, I'm sorry for having to ask, but if he shows I might have been able to have an edge on him, but I do know that he can only be a frost dragon or a water dragon" he looked down to ilbv "don't worry about that other dragon though, if he does show up he will have to get through me to get you and I won't let that happen, promise" Kren smiled reassuringly.

ilbv felt himself blush and turn red with embarrassment, but he shivered. The arctic air was still getting him and he felt very helpless and dependant on this beast that held him so gently. "I wish I still had my coat, but that other dragon ripped it...I..I am s-so cold."

Kren thought for a while and lowered his head to ilbv "well, ilbv I do have a place where you can be warm, comfy and safe but the amount of trust you would have to give me would be like taking a leap of faith".

ilbv's heart leaped. He felt like he knew what the dragon was talking about and he was immediately terrified. "Where?" ilbv asked, trying to sound calm.

Kren was very nervous to say this, he had just got the human to trust him and if he said this he knew that ilbv could end up being scared of him again, he took a breath "well, if I eat you, you can stay in my stomach, I will make sure your safe and I will fly you back home" Kren smiled reassuringly but felt really nervous as to how ilbv would react.

ilbv was quiet for a long time, his heart was racing. His fears had been realized, Kren wanted to eat him. It was obvious, how could he have not seen it before. "I'm a human, all the dragons want to eat me, I...I'm nothing but a meal to them." he said in his head. These were ilbv's feelings talking to him, but his heart reprimanded them and shouted at ilbv for his blindness to kindness. "Kren is trying to help you! He saved your life! He's willing to do anything to protect you! You'll die if stay out in this cold, his stomach will be warm and safe for you! Why don't you trust him you idiot!?" ilbv looked up at Kren, who was still studying ilbv, trying to detect a reaction. ilbv looked at the stomach of the dragon he was being pressed into, "He..he wants me on the other side of it." he thought. Kren nuzzeled ilbv with his nose and pulled his head back slowly, he smiled nervously as ilbv continued to be quiet. "You know you trust him. He obviously wants you to be safe, he didn't devour you on the spot, he wants you to be safe and consent to anything he might like to do." ilbv nodded slightly, to himself of course. After another long time without words, ilbv looked up at Kren and blushed, his head sunk between his shoulders and he was clearly embarrassed. "O-okay, Kren." he said quietly.

Kren smiled feeling very relieved that ilbv was ok with the idea, he gently raised him up to his mouth and said "i promise you ilbv, you will be safe" he placed him inside his mouth and closed his mouth, the ring of teeth shut around ilbv and Kren's tongue began to taste him, Kren showed obvious signs on his face that he enjoyed the taste of the human in his mouth and then tilted his head back, once ilbv had been grabbed by Kren's throat he swallowed and watched the budge travel down his neck towards his chest.

ilbv didn't say any words as Kren opened his mouth and took him inside. The first thing ilbv did was gaze into the back of the dragons mouth at the entrance to the throat. "I'm..I'm going down there." he breathed quietly. As his feet slid along Kren's tongue, ilbv felt a tingle of thrill and fear mixed together, as the dragon's mouth shut around him, ilbv watched Kren's teeth slowly lower into the gaps between the others, there were so precise and exact, like swords sliding into their sheaths. As ilbv was moved around by the dragon's tongue, he knew that the dragon must be tasting him. "Typical beast" he figured. "Even though he is saving me, he wants to treat me like I am a meal all the same." When Kren tilted his head back, ilbv pushed on the tongue trying ot stay upright, but it was too slick and gravety wanted ilbv down, so he slipped downwards and was pushed into the throat. Kren had raised his tongue so that it pushed ilbv in the back and sent him over. ilbv wriggled frantically with small fright as he was swallowed, but once the throat had him and he was going down, he calmed down a little and just tried to stay as still as possible while he was sliding down Kren's long neck.

Kren felt and watched the budge disappear inside his chest then felt ilbv land inside his belly, the landing caused him to burp rather loudly, he placed a paw against his belly "Sorry for tasting you ilbv, I got carried away" he lay there awaiting a response.

ilbv was enveloped by stomach tissue and muscle as he entered Kren's stomach and he felt like he was going to be swallowed by Kren's belly too. He was pulled under hugging ad wrapping folds of belly and muscle. ilbv was scared he'd be crushed or slurped away into Kren's fire sac. Soon though after fully playing with and examining it's guest, Kren'd stomach let ilbv go and held him safely in itself while it groaned and gurgled happily. ilbv sat down and leaned against a wall while all around him wet squishy noises made themselves heard and other fluids ran in and around the body of the dragon. When Kren spoke to ilbv, he smiled a little and leaned back. "It's okay Kren, I'm used to it."

Kren smiled at his belly hearing the sounds it made "you're used to it, so I take it this happens to you on many occasions?" Kren really liked the way ilbv felt inside him, he knew that he was safe and now warm and comfortable within him, if the Ice dragon did show, it would have to go through him literally.

ilbv curled up inside Kren's belly, he was getting much warmer now, it was such a relief to be out of the cold. "If Kren had not been around, I would be dead." ilbv thought.

Kren felt happy that ilbv was inside him, but he caught a scent, this scent was familiar to him, he remembered the smell when he found ilbv. "ilbv, I think he's here" Kren stood up and looked at the doors.

ilbv sat up nervously. "Wh-what's going to happen?" he asked trembling.

Kren growled knowing he was outside "things might get a little shaky, but he will not get you." the doors slammed open and the frost dragon leaped inside. He rose up and roared in anger, "Give me that pathetic human or die!!" Kren growled in response.

ilbv heard the rage and roaring through Kren's scales and muscle. He wobbled around as Kren'd insides vibrated with his growling. "I don't want you to die Kren! M-maybe you should listen to him."

Kren heard what ilbv said but ignored it, he would not let his new little friend get taken by a bully, "you will not have him" the frost dragon laughed "Fine then, I guess I'll kill you" the two dragons roared at each other and began a titanic battle, claws and teeth met the other drawing blood, the fight had gone on for some time when the frost dragon took a breath and began to breathe its frost breath at Kren, this was the moment Kren needed, he breathed his hurricane breath which had enough force to turn around the frost breath, sending it back. The frost breath didn't affect the dragon but the force from the hurricane knocked him over, Kren took this opportunity and pounced on him placing his front left paw on the dragons head and the right paw on his neck, Kren's tone of voice wasn't gentle but fierce and protective "Now listen here, I'm going to release you, when I do you will leave this human and me alone, if you don't my claws will meet your neck!" He stepped off and the frost dragon stood up and limped outside flying off into the distance" Kren turned around and his wounds took their toll on him causing him to collapse to the ground.

ilbv was tossed round inside Kren's stomach like a violent roller coaster ride where he wasn't strapped in. Everything was dark and violent. The roaring and angry rage sounds were loud and terrifying. ilbv felt as if the battle were happening right in his ears. Kren's heart was beating fast with dragon adrenaline. Once the battle had ended and Kren fell, ilbv sat up and crawled over to where Kren's throat had dropped him in the stomach. ilbv pushed through the muscles and since Kren was lying down, his neck was strait and ilbv crawled up his throat. When he slid inside Kren's mouth again, he pushed on the roof and Kren's jaws opened slightly, enough for ilbv to wiggle out. "Kren?" ilbv asked concerned. Kren was not responding, his eyes were almost closed and he looked like he focused very far away. ilbv felt the cold on him again and he shivered. "Kren?" ilbv asked again, he hugged at Kren's snout and muzzle. Kren groaned deeply as if he did not really perceive what was going on. ilbv walked down around Kren's front paws. He walked a good distance away so he could see the mass of Kren's body. The sight was ghastly, ilbv looked at his dragon friend's side. It was gashed and bleeding all over. Kren had cuts and bruises on his shoulders and limbs, his wing had a tear through it, his side and rear legs were scuffed and scratched.

ilbv was holding his arms, rubbing his hands up and down in the dull draft that emitted from the open door, he was making his way back to Kren when an icy voice froze him in his steps. "There you are."

ilbv turned his head and saw the limping Ice Dragon, equally cut up, but still standing and with no holes in his wings, lashing his blood stained tail back and forth. It slicked some blood onto the snow and it made ilbv feel like he was going to lose his guts. ilbv began to run to Kren's head but in one bound the Ice dragon made a surprising leap and intercepted ilbv. With a large paw, he closed his talons around the frightened human and slid on his belly to the opposite side of the warehouse, crashing into the side of it, making the building creak and groan. "I have you now, little meat bag." the Ice Dragon said lustfully.

Kren's vision was slowly dimming but he could see everything happening, he attempted to get up feeling the pain of every wound on his body trying to pull him down, Kren snarled at the frost dragon "Let him go now!" Kren roared loudly and used every bit of his strength that was left and charged at the dragon diving through the air and landing on top of the dragon, Kren roared down and raised his claws which caught the light and shone throughout the room, then swung them down delivering the killing blow, blood gashed out of the dragons neck as Kren picked ilbv up then limping away from the macabre sight he set ilbv down then lay down groaning in agony, he turned to ilbv and said weakly "...your..safe now....ilbv" his voice cut off as everything went black causing his head to fall to the ground.

ilbv tried to duck, but Kren's head landed on him, the cheekbone of the dragon made contact with ilbv's shoulders and with the unconscious weight of the dragon could have killed him, oh the irony. But ilbv had been in the middle of diving out of the way and Kren's head fell on him with an arched ridge covering ilbv. However, the human's legs were pinned under the heavier part and ilbv could not move.

Kren's open mouth was above ilbv's waist and half of him pinned under the dragon and the rest was yet again at the mercy of the cold. ilbv sat up and tried to pull his legs out, but Kren had them down. "Kren, please wake up." ilbv said frantically. The dragon did not move. ilbv reached for a tooth and grabbing hold he was able to pull his head and neck and shoulders and arms into Kren's mouth. ilbv held onto the side of Kren's tongue so he wouldn't be outside of the warmth. ilbv's back and legs were still freezing outside of the warm mouth, and ilbv did the best could to try and survive.

After a long time Kren's eyes opened slightly and he spotted ilbv trapped under him he put all the effort he could and lifted his head allowing ilbv enough space to climb out.

ilbv crawled inside Kren's mouth and wrapped his arms around the dragon's tongue. He wanted to stay as still as possible so that Kren could rest, and at the same time know that ilbv was with him.

Kren lowered his head back onto the ground, he could still feel the wounds that were spread across his body as each one burned with pain, Kren however ignored this fact, he remained happy knowing that his new friend was safe, warm and comfortable, he only hoped that ilbv didn't think anything different of him for killing the other dragon in cold blood.

ilbv just snuggled with Kren's tongue, he believed that he could be safe now. Whether Kren had some attack of feral instincts was never certain, but ilbv just trusted in his heart that Kren was going to be there for him.

Kren's knew that he needed rest in order for his wounds to heal so he closed his eyes and began to drift off to sleep, knowing that ilbv was within him safe from the bitter cold and any predators that might try to hurt him, he also knew that once he had fully healed he would be able to take ilbv back home to his family and his friends.

Kren slept warmly and ilbv soon hearing the deep breaths of the dragon's slumber, closed his own eyes and slept himself. Kren's tongue was a wonderful bed.

Both the human and dragon had gone through thick and thin in such a short time, however the two managed to make it through the cold of the Arctic and a very large and mean predator, the two now slept peacefully waiting until Kren had fully healed.

It was a great first adventure, and many more were sure to come.
