Sir Auric went to the only place he knew to go, to the only people he had left in the world; people who would not judge him but love him for who he was. Having told Randy and Hugo his tale, Sir Auric sighed; it was good to have friends.

"So what will you do now?" Randy sat in the large lap of Hugo, as if seated on a throne.

"I will go south of the kingdom. I have been north of the kingdom, but not south."

"Those lands are said to be wild," Randy exclaimed.

"Well, I will soon find out, will I not?"

"We could go with you." Randy looked up to Hugo. "Would you like to travel with Sir Auric?" Hugo shook his head. "You are right; we would only get in the way."

"It would do me well, knowing that you are here, safe and happy."

"I want you to be happy too." He looked up to Sir Auric with his big brown eyes.

"Make cow?" Hugo asked.

Sir Auric chuckled. "I do appreciate it but no, I should be going." He stood.

"Visit soon," Randy said, scrambling up to hug Sir Auric.

Sir Auric lingered, relishing the contact, until he had to break away.

"I will." Sir Auric turned and left, making his way into the woods. As he hopped over the downed tree, he glanced back to see Randy scramble up Hugo, mounting his face.

At a crossroads again, Sir Auric headed south towards the kingdom, but intending to avoid it. It would be a long, circuitous route through farmsteads and he would have to travel mostly at night to avoid notice.

"You do not have to walk, you know."

Sir Auric looked about for the source of the voice.

"Over here," it beckoned. Laying flat out on a rock was a large, purple lizard.

"Almighty!" Sir Auric exclaimed, eyes wide.

"Hello again, it is I, Tyrian the Purple."

Sir Auric did not see the mouth of the lizard move; it was as if he were speaking in his head.

"Oh, hello, to come across you out here, this is quite a chance meeting."

"When dealing with a wizard, nothing is left to chance."

Brow furrowed, Sir Auric asked, "You are here for a reason?"

"Just to check in with you," he replied. His lizard mouth popped open as if in a smile. "How are you?"

"Well, after I subdued the Spider Queen, I went west, did come across a friend, managed the giant, got arrested, brought back to the palace, forced to retrieve an artifact from the lair of the dragon of the North Mountains, and then I was summarily banished."

The lizard blinked. "Yes, well and good, but I did ask how you were."

"Oh," said Sir Auric, nodding, "that you did." He sighed. "I am restless. I have yet come to terms with my new life."

"You will, in time, and the south is a good place to do that, lots of foreign lands to find your place in."

"You knew I was going south?"

"Well, I am a wizard, but even so I knew through deductive reasoning, that you are taking the road south but not to the kingdom from which you were banished." Sir Auric nodded. "And there are ways to get there faster."

"What ways?"

"Why, the mutability amulet." Sir Auric held the ring, studying it. "With this you can change yourself, in any way you can imagine."

"Like a lizard," Sir Auric said excitedly.

"Yes, but traveling as a lizard you will not get there faster."

"I would get there faster as a horse."

"Now you are thinking." The mouth of the lizard popped open again. "You could also consider faster animals, even creatures of air and sea, but a horse would be a good start, as you are intimately familiar with that form."

Sir Auric slipped on the ring and closed his eyes. Of course, his cock and balls changed first, growing as long as his arm and the size of small melons respectively. He dropped to all fours and his body grew outward, filling the shape of a horse. With focus, the details filled out, the long muzzle, the mane, hooves, and a tail.

"I do say, quite impressive!" Sir Auric pranced about, enjoying the form; the stallion was golden from head to hoof, its mane, coat, and tail blond. "You will notice that the amulet has become a shoe, as you have hooves instead of hands. To activate it, stomp it twice." Sir Auric whinnied. "Oh, not now of course, get going!" Sir Auric whinnied again. "You are welcome."

His lizard eyes blinking, Tyrian watched the golden stallion gallop down the road.

In time, he thought, he will be ready.

*****

It was quite exhilarating, the strength and the speed, the pounding of his hooves and the wind coursing alongside his large body. If anyone were to see him, he was sure it would be just a golden blur. He managed to make it well past the kingdom in hours instead of days.

Rearing to a stop with a loud whinny, he stomped his hove on the ground twice. His body shrank inward, filling the shape of a man, a man on his hands and knees. Sir Auric stood, removing the ring and draping it around his neck.

Approaching the city, as with any other, the farmsteads grew denser, but these were off the ground, raised on stilts. The air also grew denser, thick with humidity and a slightly fishy odor. The city itself was surrounded by a substantial moat, with not just drawbridges, but actual bridges. Being mid-day, he had no trouble entering among the throng of peasants.

Once inside, he spotted a young man loitering against the wall, gangly and under-massed, the youthful curve of his belly sloped into low-slung trousers. Sir Auric approached him, knowing how useful young men could be. After a misunderstanding about block and tackle, no, Sir Auric did not have a heavy load that needed pulling, the young man directed him to the tavern.

A barn smelled natural, fertile, but natural. This tavern smelled as if something had died, most likely the hopes and dreams of its patrons, a weary, dreary bunch in tattered tunics and pants, heads covered in kerchiefs, gold hoops in their ears. It was midday, but most of them were already deep into their cups.

Sir Auric approached the first table, hesitant to go too far into the place. "Hello, good men," he greeted.

A crotchety old man, with hair on his lip that stuck out like whiskers and a beard under his neck that hung like tree moss, looked him over with his good eye, the eye not patched. "Arrgh," he growled, "ahoy land lover!"

"Good sir, I am looking to book passage on a vessel, to earn my way to foreign lands."

"Arrgh," the man growled again, "go down to the docks, plenty of work there." The others grumbled in agreement.

"Thank you good sir," Sir Auric said with a smile.

As he left, "And put some pants on," the man called, "aargh!"

Sir Auric did notice the attention as he found his way to the docks, lots of blushes and titters, even pointing, but still, he had no pants. If only I had something to cover my groin, he thought, as it seems to attract the most attention . . .

He slipped the ring around his finger. Thinking of covering his loins, his crotch hair grew long and thick. Trailing mid-thigh, it looked as if he were wearing a loincloth of golden fleece, only he knew different. Liking the effect, he did the same to cover the crack of his ass.

The docks were bustling with activity, boats embarking and unloading, and loading and debarking, vendors and wenches barking their wares. Sir Auric felt quite out of place as he jostled, and was jostled, through. He stepped away from it all, down a vacant slip.

This was quite odd, as the rest of the slips as far as the eye could see were not only in use but also had queues. Looking about, a dark figure sat at the end of the slip, a young woman in a black dress knelt before the water. As he approached, he heard sniffling.

"My lady, what is the matter?" he asked quietly.

"I am sorry to be a bother," she said, looking up with red, runny eyes, "but I am in mourning."

Sir Auric nodded; no one would deny her this right, leaving her alone on the slip.

"My brother," she said, sniffling, "the sea claimed him." She looked out to the water. "I was seeing him off, his first voyage. He was so excited, he dangled the prow, waving. Then it reached up, grabbing him, taking him below."

"Almighty," Sir Auric exclaimed, "did no one go to his aide?"

"I cried for help, but no one took heed. It was his first voyage on an exotic, outbound ship, so no one knew to miss him."

Sir Auric searched the water frantically. "Is there anything I can do to help?"

"He has been down there for days, but I cannot help but feel that he is alive."

Sir Auric studied her face, she seemed sincere, and he did know that many things were possible, being himself in contact with magic and magical creatures. It was doubtful that her brother survived the ordeal or that the creature had not feasted on his bones but, strong and brave, he had, at least, to try.

"My lady, I do not want to present false hopes, but I will do my best to look into this matter."

Eyes wide, "Really?" she asked. "Why, that would be so kind of you, and such a deed, but I would not have the means to repay you."

Sir Auric smiled. "Whether or not I do find anything, I at least hope to give you closure so that you can go on with your life; that would be reward enough."

She scrambled up, embracing him. "Thank you kind sir, and if there is anything I can do . . ."

"You can hold my sack." She pulled away with a furrowed brow, until he handed her his gear.

"I will be right here until you return, you have my word."

Sir Auric moved her aside, took a deep breath, ran, and then dove.

*****

The water was just cool enough to be refreshing. Sir Auric stroked his arms and kicked his legs, which took him out farther and down deeper. He quickly realized that to continue he would need to breathe like a fish and see with the eyes of a cat. Placing the ring around his finger, he willed it so, gills on his neck and his eyes large and with slit pupils. He also lost his 'loincloth', as the drag of it was slowing him down.

His new abilities allowed him to go out even farther and down even deeper. The first of his discoveries was a treasure trove of cargo ditched or lost, sealed clay pots, labeled as to have contained contraband herbs, a cracked crate of carved marble phalluses, and a chain of shackles holding the remains of leg bones of slaves.

The second of his discoveries was a graveyard, cracked hulls of sunken ships, their masts raised futilely. The ships were laid open, not able to conceal a 'monster'. Still, with his newfound abilities, they might be worth exploring later.

The third of his discoveries was a lush garden of long grass, which tickled as he passed through. It was like a corn maze, and he spread the delicate stems to clear his way. Of his discoveries so far, this was the most likely to provide cover for a 'monster'.

"Almighty!" he exclaimed, muffled, as bubbles burst from his mouth.

The sting of suction held his calf. He jerked his leg to pull free, the sting of suction now held his thigh, his buttock. Stinging all over now, tubules attached randomly until he was captured.

One sucked his lips, a cruel kiss, but he now breathed air instead of water. Two attached themselves, one over each nipple. With the painful flutter of suction, one took his cock to its root. Another stabbed between his buttocks until it found its mark, sealing rim to rim. Held in place securely, the tubules that had snagged him detached.

His cock, engorged from the suction, he felt a poke at the piss slit then something forced its way inside, traveling down its length then deep into his groin, where the pain spread like fire, as on his chest, where they wormed their way into his nipples, forcing open the non-functioning ducts. What entered his ass was quite small, providing only a pleasant tickle, until it swelled, causing discomfort. And then they began to ripple in surges.

The result was his body pumping in time. Through the pain, he felt a stream of fluid leaving him. Not the release of sex, it was as if he was being drained. Sir Auric grabbed at the ring, sliding it over his finger. His body now mutable, he shoved back, tearing himself off the tubules. They reached out after him, long, green stems with thin white strands protruding from their gaping mouths spilling a milky-white fluid.

If that was what the monster was about, milking its victims, then the brother of the young woman surely might still be alive.

*****

Sir Auric approached the lush garden of long grass cautiously. About the area he was attacked, he laid bait or, well, pumped himself with his fist until he expelled a volley of thick, white man mess into the stems. A tubule shot out to it; Sir Auric jammed a marble phallus between its lips, which it suckled. Another tubule shot out, another phallus plugged its hole.

His plan was working. He plugged the nearest tubules then moved forward, laying more bait. Plugging those, he moved forward and laid more bait. He did this until he was out of phalluses, his cock limp, his balls throbbing in pain, and he reached the monster.

About a large, pulsing, green mass suspended like a balloon, five men were hung. Two were desiccated corpses, the life drained from them. Two were large, dark men, barely twitching. The fifth was a young man, fair with dark hair, steadily breathing as the tubules rippled in surges into his nipples, cock, and ass.

Sir Auric cracked open one of the sealed clay pots and sprinkled the green mass with the contraband herbs. The balloon deflated, thick, white liquid streaming from its top. As it fell limp, the tubules retracted. Of the five hung men, only the young man struggled to breathe. Sir Auric swept him up in his arms and kicked hard towards the surface of the water, pausing to share the breath from his gills.

*****

Laid out on the shore of a small island, the young man breathed shallow, but still, he breathed. His body quite thin, his chest was strong with muscle, but it was not muscle, as milk dribbled from his swollen teats. His cock, having been sucked hard for days, was stretched long and limp, his balls were swollen to the size and shade of plums. His hole was only slightly gaped open, but who knew what had happened in his bowels.

As the color returned to his cheeks, now rosy, his eyes fluttered open and were as sparkling as emeralds.

He wheezed, and then coughed to clear his throat. "Am I in heaven?" he asked weakly, "Are you an angel?"

Sir Auric chuckled. "I am just a man. But to have you here, safe and sound, is heaven enough for me."

The young man shuddered. "The sea monster?" he asked excitedly.

"Dead, or if not dead, then severely weakened," Sir Auric assured him.

"You saved me?" he asked, Sir Auric, smiling, nodded, "then I am forever in your debt, my life is yours."

"Nonsense," Sir Auric said, scoffing, "but if you found it enjoyable to be with me, I would be happy to have you."

The young man gazed into the eyes of Sir Auric. "I think I would." He tried to move closer, his lips parting with a slight gasp.

Sir Auric met him halfway and, eyes closed, their lips met. As they held the kiss gently, it was as if the clouds parted and the sun shone, basking them in warmth. They grew to know each other in the kiss, as intimate as it was, and fell in love. It was then that Sir Auric noticed the clamor about them, an army of people the size of ants. They shot little cannons stuffed with harpoons, leading strong cords that fell over them like webbing, tying them to the ground.
